In this article, we study the dynamics of large-scale motion in atmosphere and ocean governed by the 3D quasi-geostrophic potential vorticity (QGPV) equation with a constant stratification. It is shown that for a Kolmogorov forcing on the first energy shell, there exist a family of exact solutions that are dissipative Rossby waves. The nonlinear stability of these exact solutions are analyzed based on the assumptions on the growth rate of the forcing. In the absence of forcing, we show the existence of selective decay states for the 3D QGPV equation. The selective decay states are the 3D Rossby waves traveling horizontally at a constant speed. All these results can be regarded as the expansion of that of the 2D QGPV system and in the case of 3D QGPV system with isotropic viscosity. Finally, we present a geometric foundation for the model as a general equation for nonequilibrium reversible-irreversible coupling.  相似文献

The work deals with numerical modelling of flow through 2-dimensional (2D) and 3-dimensional (3D) backward facing step. In laminar case, we apply several higher order upwind and central discretizations and compare numerical results with measurements. The turbulent regime is considered in 2D as well as in 3D and influence of secondary flow is observed. The canonical quantization of a (D=2n)-dimensional Dirac particle with spin in an arbitrary external electromagnetic field is performed in a gauge that makes it possible to describe simultaneously particles and antiparticles (both massive and massiess) already at the classical level. A pseudoclassical Foldy-Wouthuysen transformation is used to find the canonical (Newton-Wigner) coordinates. The connection between this quantization scheme and Blount's picture describing the behavior of a Dirac particle in an external electromagnetic field is discussed.Erevan Physics Institute. Homogeneous 2D positive systems are 2D state-space models whosevariables are alwalys nonnegative and, consequently, are describedby a pair of nonnegative square matrices (A, B). In the paper,the properties of these pairs are discussed both in the generalcase and under particular assumptions like finite memory, separability,and property L. Various aspects of the positive asymptotic dynamic are considered;in particular, sufficient conditions are provided guaranteeingthat the local states are eventually strictly positive. This work deals with numerical solution of 3D inviscid transonic flows in a channel using finite volume form of composite scheme. The combination of less dissipative Lax‐Wendroffs cheme and more dissipative Lax‐Friedrichs scheme is used in cell‐vertex form and basic 3D five sides finite volume. Some 3D results of transonic flows in a channel that is an extension of 2D GAMM channel with a) a changed bump in z‐direction b) not changed bump but with swept wing geometry are presented in the article.  相似文献
