We have studied third order nonlinearities, including two-photon absorption coefficient and nonlinear refractive index n 2, of GaN in below bandgap ultraviolet (UV) wavelength regime by using UV femtosecond pulses. Two-photon absorption was investigated by demonstrating femtosecond UV pulsewidth autocorrelation in a GaN thin film while femtosecond Z-scan measurements revealed information for both n 2 and . The distribution of n 2 versus wavelength was found to be consistent with a model described by the quadratic Stark effect, which is the dominant factor contributed to the nonlinear refractive index near the bandgap. Large on the order of 10 cm/GW and large negative n 2 with a magnitude on the order of several 10–12 cm2/W were obtained. The at near mid-gap infrared (IR) wavelength was also found to be on the order of several cm/GW by using two-photon-type autocorrelations in a GaN thin film. Taking advantage of the large two-photon absorption at mid-gap wavelengths, we have demonstrated excellent image quality on two-photon confocal microscopy, including two-photon-scanning-photoluminescence imaging and two-photon optical-beam-induced current microscopy, on a GaN Hall measurement sample and an InGaN green light emitting diode.  相似文献

本文报道从推拉型偶氮化合物中测得了非常高的三阶非线性极化率,X~(3)~6×10~(→3)esu.这对于引起光学双稳现象是至关重要的.利用波长为488nm的氩离子激光为光源,从这类材料掺杂的玻璃态聚合物薄膜的Kretschmann型态中,进一步观察到了光学双稳现象.与此同时,联系这类材料的顺反异构化反应历程,从电子吸收机制或光诱导的折射率变化机制对有关问题进行了讨论.  相似文献

介质的三阶非线性性质会引起光场的非线性相移,而这类介质中当光强及介质的特性参数满足一定条件时,可以使光场的演化进入混沌的状态。从麦克斯韦方程组出发,推导了基于介质三阶非线性效应的麦克斯韦-布洛赫方程,并将其转化为归一化的洛伦兹方程形式。利用此方程,数值模拟了光场稳态及混沌态的演化过程。研究结果表明,三阶非线性介质中光场的演化可以进入混沌状态,这种状态对于控制材料中如自聚焦等有害的三阶非线性效应是不利的。  相似文献

The thermal, mechanical and spectral properties of complex formed by picric acid with naphthalene and anthracene respectively have been studied using phase-diagram, linear velocity of solidification, degree of undercooling, fracture value, modulii of elasticity and IR, UV-visible spectral measurements. The phase-diagrams show that the 1:1 molecular complexes which are formed in these systems are stable in the solid state and remain intact in the molten state. The kinetics of solidification in both follows the Hilling and Turnbull equation and the observed kinetic data suggest the Winegard et al, mechanism for the solidification phenomena in the two complexes. The experimental and the theoretically calculated values of heats of fusion were compared. These properties of the pure components and the complexes were studied in the light of molecular interactions which play an important role in deciding the crystal structure of binary organic systems with the formation of congruent melting compounds having structures consisting of infinite stacks of alternate donor and acceptor molecules.  相似文献

We have investigated the transient third-order optical nonlinearity of the solutions of Metal(dmit)2/(mnt)2 salts in acetone by employing femtosecond optical Kerr gate measurement at 830nm wavelength.An order of enhancement on the second-order hyperppolarizability is found for the above salts with central atoms of Cu and Ni.We have suggested an explanation for the enhancement based on the extension of electronic conjugation by the entring Cu or Ni atom.  相似文献

This paper reports that a charge-transfer salt dibutylammonium bis-7,7,8,8-tetraeyanoquinodimethane [DBA (TCNQ)2] has been prepared. The temperature dependences of the DC electrical conductivity of the DBA (TCNQ)2 single crystal measured along the crystallographic a, b, and c axes are reported. The crystal shows semicondueting behaviour and the room-temperature conductivities are highly anisotropic (σa = 3.63× 10^-4S/cm, σb = 2.84× 10^-6S/cm, and (σe = 1.82 × 10^-5S/cm). Particularly, a sharp semiconductor to semiconductor transition has been observed around 270 K on the resistivity curves measured under cooling and heating. In addition, thermal hysteresis phenomena on conductivity and differential scanning calorimetry curves are also reported.  相似文献

The third-order optical nonlinearity of two sandwich-type phthalocyaninato and porphyrinato europium com- plexes, including double- and triple-deckers (Eu[Pc(OC5H11)8]2, Eu2(Pc)(TPP)2, Pc=phthalocyanine, TPP=5, 10, 15, 20- tetraphenylporphyrinate), was investigated by using the femtosecond time-resolved optical Kerr gate method at 830 nm wavelength. Their second-order hyperpolarizability is estimated to be 0.74× 10^-30esu and 3.0× 10^-3esu respectively. This exhibits an evident enhancement in comparison with 0.47×10^-30esu for one-decker Eu(Pc)(acac) (acac=acetylacetonate), which is also measured under the same conditions. The enhancement is attributed to the introduction of lanthanide metal to the large π-conjugated system, intermacrocycle interaction and two-photon resonance etc.  相似文献

考虑耦合介质存在交叉克尔非线性的情形下,研究了交叉克尔效应对耦合双谐振腔中二阶非线性诱导透明的影响.首先给出了描述体系理论模型的哈密顿量,再通过对海森堡-朗之万方程进行线性化,得到了探测场的透射率,进而得出系统的吸收和色散关系.研究结果表明,在交叉克尔非线性强度较小时,可忽略其对诱导透明的影响;随着交叉克尔非线性强度的增大,诱导透明窗口宽度随之快速变窄.此外,吸收曲线中还出现了双吸收峰.进一步增强交叉克尔非线性,导致原本出现的诱导透明消失,并在新吸收峰处产生了新的诱导透明,新的诱导透明的吸收零点位置随着交叉克尔非线性增加而向左偏移.这些结果可能在不透明介质的窄窗口光传输和提高光学腔的性能方面提供一些参考.  相似文献

The equations of motion for the propagation of finite amplitude elastic waves in crystals of tetragonal symmetry have been derived starting from the expression for the elastic strain energy. The equations have been solved for a finite amplitude sinusoidal wave propagating along the pure mode directions which are [100], [110] and [001] for the tetragonal group TI. The solutions corresponding to longitudinal wave propagation yield expressions for the amplitudes of the fundamental and generated second harmonic for these directions in terms of certain combinations of second and third order elastic constants of the medium. The results will aid the experimenter to determine these constants using ultrasonic harmonic generation technique.  相似文献

利用稳态吸收和荧光光谱学、瞬态荧光光谱学(时间相关单光子计数技术)系统研究了EPPTC掺杂的F8BT薄膜异质结结构中激发复合体的形成机理和荧光发射特性,并表征了其特征光谱和荧光发射寿命. 其特征主要体现在显著延长的荧光发射寿命和红移的荧光发射光谱.这对于理解有机半导体材料异质结结构形成的机理和光物理学特性研究提供了多方面的实验依据.同时,由于这两种材料混合后的吸收光谱较宽范围地覆盖了可见光谱区,这样的有机半导体掺杂工艺对于有机光伏器件和太阳能电池器件的应用研究具有重要意义.  相似文献

Third-order optical nonlinearity of Ni-azo metal complex in solution was investigated by the Z-scan technique with 38 ps laser pulse excitation at 1.064 μm. The diamagnetic susceptibilities of four aromatic compounds of known structure have been measured and the principal molecular susceptibilities have been deduced from these, knowing the molecular orientations. 侧链共轭的聚噻吩衍生物具有拓宽的共轭程度,有望成为一类性能优良的三阶非线性光学材料.合成了一种侧链共轭的噻吩共聚物:聚 -噻吩(POTVTh-Th),该聚合物与其均聚物相比,吸收光谱发生了明显的红移,禁带宽度为1.72eV.采用Z扫描技术在800nm下用飞秒激光器研究了该聚合物溶液和薄膜的三阶非线性光学特性,结果表明该共聚物四氢呋喃溶液中的三阶非线性极化率为8.84×10-10esu,聚合物薄膜的三阶非线性极化率为7.25×10-9esu,分别是其 关键词: 侧链共轭 噻吩共聚物 三阶非线性极化率 非线性吸收  相似文献

The degenerate four-wave mixing experiments have been performed in the dichloromethane solutions of 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-pipridine-4-ol-N-oxyl p-hydroxybenzaldehyde oxime benzoic ester (TPOHBOBE) and bis-(TPOHBOBE) cobalt (II), respectively. The result is in agreement with the theoretical prediction of depending on the molecular chain length l as l 5. A large off-resonant third order hyperpolarizability xxxx of 1.3 × 10–30 esu for bis-(TPOHBOBE) cobalt (II) was obtained. The corresponding value of the third order nonlinear optical susceptibility (3) xxxx for its solid state is estimated to be 7.8 × 10–9 esu.  相似文献
