采用量子波导理论,研究了含杂质的介观三臂环中的持续电流。结果表明:输运电流存在时,不含磁场的三臂环中也可有持续电流产生, 这是纯的量子现象。即使含杂质的三臂环和含杂质的单环上、下臂比例相同,两环中的电流也明显不同。更重要的是发现在某些能量范围内,杂质不总是制约持续电流的增大。  相似文献

A variational approach is used to study the ground state of a bound polaron in a spherical quantum dot under an external electric field. The binding energy of the hydrogenic impurity state is calculated by taking the interaction of an electron with both the confined longitudinal optical phonons and the surface optical phonons into account. The interaction between impurity and longitudinal optical phonons has also been considered to obtain the binding energy of a bound polaron. It shows that the polaron effects give significant corrections to the binding energy and its Stark energy shift. The external electric field increases the phonon contributions to the binding energy.  相似文献

The spin transport as the current flows through an impurity in a one-dimensional conductor is analyzed. The interacting electrons are described in terms of the Luttinger liquid theory. Both the Coulomb and short-range interactions are considered; the latter appears when the gate screens the long-range part of the Coulomb potential. The cases of magnetic and nonmagnetic impurities are considered. It has been revealed that, for a magnetic impurity, the electric current flow induces the generation of the spin current, which has direct and alternating components. At low temperatures and voltages, the current can be completely spin-polarized. For a nonmagnetic impurity, the spin current generation is absent. The spin current flowing though the wire affects the current-voltage characteristic for both magnetic and nonmagnetic impurities. The results have been obtained for a rather strong electron-electron interaction.  相似文献

We consider the problem of a persistent current in a one-dimensional mesoscopic ring with the electrons coupled by a spin exchange to a magnetic impurity. We show that this problem can be mapped onto an integrable model with a quadratic dispersion (with the latter property allowing for an unambiguous definition of the persistent current). We have solved the model exactly by a Bethe ansatz and found that the current is insensitive to the presence of the impurity. We conjecture that this result holds for any integrable quantum impurity model with an electronic dispersionε(k) that is an even function ofk.  相似文献

We investigate the effects of impurity spin dynamics on quantum coherence in mesoscopic metallic rings. Spin relaxation induces temporal current fluctuations which are closely related to persistent currents in such systems. The persistent current is suppressed in the presence of magnetic impurities. We discuss spin-polarisation effects, spin-glass ordering, and the Kondo effect which are shown to restore the current even in the presence of magnetic scattering.  相似文献

The behavior of charge and spin persistent currents in an integrable lattice ring of strongly correlated electrons with a magnetic impurity is exactly studied. Our results manifest that the oscillations of charge and spin persistent currents are similar to the ones, earlier obtained for integrable continuum models with a magnetic impurity. The difference is due to two (instead of one) Fermi velocities of low-lying excitations. The form of oscillations in the ground state is “saw-tooth”-like, generic for any multi-particle coherent one-dimensional models. The integrable magnetic impurity introduces net charge and spin chiralities in the generic integrable lattice system, which determine the initial phase shifts of charge and spin persistent currents. We show that the magnitude of the charge persistent current in the generic Kondo situation does not depend on the parameters of the magnetic impurity, unlike the (magneto)resistivity of transport currents. The effects of the interaction between electron and bulk longitudinal optical (LO) phonon and surface optical (SO) phonon on the impurity binding energy of the ground state in a polar crystal slab within an external electric field are derived by using the method of a variational wavefunction. The binding energy of the bound polaron is obtained as a function of the impurity position, the slab thickness and the electric field strength. It is found that the polaronic correction to the impurity binding energy by the SO phonon may be enhanced and that by the LO phonon may be reduced with increasing electric field strength. And the effect of the electron-phonon interaction is quite important in increasing the values of binding energy.  相似文献

A theoretical investigation is performed of quantum coherent electron transport through a nanostructure that contains an impurity ion with an uncompensated magnetic moment. It is shown that the transmission coefficient of spin-polarized electrons has the Fano antiresonance. This effect appears as a result of exchange interaction between the spin of transmitted electron and the spin of impurity ion. It is shown that Fano antiresonance leads to a qualitative modification of the current-voltage characteristic of the structure responsible for the large value of magnetoresistance.  相似文献

文章作者研究了存在自旋轨道耦合的介观小环的平衡态性质.此前人们已经知道,在有磁通穿过的介观小环中,绕环运动的电子会产生一附加的Berry相位而导致持续电流;同样地,在仅有自旋轨道耦合的体系中,电子绕环运动也应当会产生附加的自旋Berry相位,进而驱动持续自旋流.文章作者通过对一个有正常区和自旋轨道耦合区的复合小环的计算,结果表明,无电流伴随的纯持续自旋流的确存在.文章作者指出,这持续自旋流描述真实的自旋运动,并且它能被实验观测.  相似文献

We theoretically study the persistent currents flowing in a Rashba quantum ring subjected to the Rashba spin-orbit interaction. By introducing uniform or nonuniform magnetization into the ring, we find that a nonzero persistent charge current circulates in the ring, which stems from the original equilibrium spin current due to the Rashba spin-orbit interaction. Because of broken time reversal symmetry, the two oppositely flowing spin-up and spin-down charge currents of the equilibrium spin current are no longer equal, and so a net persistent charge current can flow in the system. It is also found that the persistent current can be modulated by the Fermi energy, the Rashba spin-orbit interaction strength and the magnetization in the ring. Moreover, the magnetization perpendicular to the ring plane can optimize the current. The persistent current flowing in the ring is a manifestation of the nonzero equilibrium spin current existing in the ring.  相似文献

This paper reviews the application of the perturbed angular correlation (PAC/D) technique to studies of rare earth hyperfine interactions. First, PAC/D measurements of the interaction of rare-earth nuclei with the large hyperfine fields of their own partially filled 4f electronic shell are discussed. It is shown that PAC/D spectroscopy is particularly useful for the investigation of 4f spin relaxation in liquid and solid environments, and for the study of the formation and stability of 4f magnetic moments in metallic hosts. The second part of the paper deals with the static hyperfine interaction of non-rare-earth impurity nuclei in the hexagonal, magnetically ordered rare-earth metals. The PAC/D contributions to the systematic investigation of impurity electric field gradients and magnetic hyperfine fields in rare earths are discussed. The importance of PAC/D as the main source of information on the temperature dependence of impurity hyperfine interactions in rare earths is stressed. The trends of the electric field gradients are compared to the behaviour of simpler non-cubic metal systems. The magnetic fields are discussed in the context of current theories.  相似文献

We investigate the equilibrium property of a mesoscopic ring with a spin-orbit interaction. It is well known that, for a normal mesoscopic ring threaded by a magnetic flux, the electron acquires a Berry phase that induces the persistent (charge) current. Similarly, the spin of an electron acquires a spin Berry phase traversing a ring with a spin-orbit interaction. It is this spin Berry phase that induces a persistent spin current. To demonstrate its existence, we calculate the persistent spin current without an accompanying charge current in the normal region in a hybrid mesoscopic ring. We point out that this persistent spin current describes the real spin motion and can be observed experimentally.  相似文献

Spin relaxation in the impurity band of a 2D semiconductor with spin-split spectrum and hyperfine interaction in the external magnetic field is considered. Two contributions to the spin relaxation are shown to be relevant: the one given by optimal impurity configurations with the hop-waiting time inversely proportional to the external magnetic field and another one related to electron motion over large distances. This paper studies the effect of a charged impurity together with or without an external homogeneous electric field on a quantum ring threaded by a magnetic field B and containing two electrons. The potential caused by the impurity has been plotted which is helpful to the understanding of the electronic structures inside the ring. The deep valley appearing in the potential curve is the source of localization, which affects seriously the Aharonov-Bohm oscillation (ABO) of the energy and persistent current. It also causes the fluctuation of the total orbital angular momentum L of the pair of electrons. It is found that the appearance of the impurity reduces the domain of the fractional ABO. During the increase of B, the domain of the integral ABO may appear earlier when B is even quite small. The transition from the localized states to extended states has also been studied. Furthermore, it has deduced a set of related formulae for a transformation, by which an impurity with a charge ep placed at an arbitrary point Rp is equivalent to an impurity with a revised charge ep placed at the X-axis with a revised radial distance Rp. This transformation facilitates the calculation and make the analysis of the physical result clearer.  相似文献

Similar to the Landauer electric dipole created around an impurity by the electric current, a spin polarized cloud of electrons can be induced by the intrinsic spin Hall effect near a spin independent elastic scatterer. It is shown that in the ballistic range around the impurity, such a cloud appears in the case of Rashba spin-orbit interaction, even though the bulk spin Hall current is absent.  相似文献

Structural distortions of the SrF2 crystal lattice near the bivalent copper impurity Jahn-Teller center are investigated by the ENDOR method (v=9.3 GHz, T=4.2 K). The approximate directions and the magnitudes of displacements of a Cu2+ impurity ion and its surrounding F? ions are determined with respect to one of the anionic networks in the crystal matrix. The tensor components for the ligand hyperfine interaction (LHFI) with fluorine ions separated from the impurity by a distance R≤6.2 Å are obtained from the angular dependences of the location of the ENDOR resonance lines. It is found that the parameters of magnetic interactions between the impurity and these ligands contain the contributions determined by the covalence of bonds in the impurity complex and the polarization of electron shells of the ligands.  相似文献

The local response to a uniform field around vacancies in the two-dimensional spin-1/2 Heisenberg antiferromagnet is determined by numerical quantum Monte Carlo simulations as a function of temperature. It is possible to separate the Knight shifts into uniform and staggered contributions on the lattice which are analyzed and understood in detail. The contributions show interesting long- and short-range behavior that may be of relevance in NMR and susceptibility measurements. For more than one impurity, remarkable nonlinear enhancement and cancellation effects take place. We predict that the Curie impurity susceptibility will be observable for a random impurity concentration even in the thermodynamic limit.  相似文献

The effect ofthe edge state on the persistent current in quasi-1D mesoscopic rings with a screened interactionwhich exists only between nearest-neighboring particles is studied with the Hartree-Fock approximation. The theoreticalvalue of the current magnitude is greatly enhanced by both the edge state and the Coulomb interaction, and pinningthe electrons into a lattice is good for the enhancement if screening happens. In high dimensional systems the screeningeffect can make the interacting range show anisotropy, and create a tendency of gathering for particles with a repulsivepotential.  相似文献
