The effect of the microstructure of titanium dioxide on the structure, thermal stability, and catalytic properties of supported CuO/TiO2 and CuO/(CeO2-TiO2) catalysts in CO oxidation was studied. The formation of a nanocrystalline structure was found in the CuO/TiO2 catalysts calcined at 500°C. This nanocrystalline structure consisted of aggregated fine anatase particles about 10 nm in size and interblock boundaries between them, in which Cu2+ ions were stabilized. Heat treatment of this catalyst at 700°C led to a change in its microstructure with the formation of fine CuO particles 2.5–3 nm in size, which were strongly bound to the surface of TiO2 (anatase) with a regular well-ordered crystal structure. In the CuO/(CeO2-TiO2) catalysts, the nanocrystalline structure of anatase was thermally more stable than in the CuO/TiO2 catalyst, and it persisted up to 700°C. The study of the catalytic properties of the resulting catalysts showed that the CuO/(CeO2-TiO2) catalysts with the nanocrystalline structure of anatase were characterized by the high-est activity in CO oxidation to CO2.  相似文献

A series of precipitants and commercial surfactants (soft templates) were employed to synthesize mesoporous/nano CeO2 by a hydrothermal method. As-prepared CeO2 was impregnated with palladium and employed for low-temperature catalytic oxidation of CO. It was found that both soft templates and precipitants had significant effects on the morphology, particle size, crystallinity, and porous structure of the CeO2, having a significant effect on the surface palladium abundance, molar ratios of surface species, and catalytic activity of the final impregnated Pd/CeO2. Using ammonia as precipitant could facilitate increased surface palladium abundance and surface molar ratios of PdO/Pd SMSI , Ce3+/(Ce3+ + Ce4+), and Osurface/Olattice. The catalytic activity of the final Pd/CeO2 catalysts could be enhanced as well. The optimal P123-assisted ammonia-precipitated Pd/CeO2 catalyst exhibited over 99% catalytic conversion of CO at 50 °C.  相似文献

The catalytic activity of the CoO/CeO2 and CuO/CoO/CeO2 systems in selective CO oxidation in the presence of hydrogen at 20–450°C ([CuO] = 1.0–2.5%, [CoO] = 1.0–7.0%) is reported. The maximum CO conversion (X) decreases in the following order: CuO/CoO/CeO2 (X = 98–99%, T = 140–170°C) > CoO/CeO2 (X = 67–84%, T = 230–240°C) > CeO2 (X = 34%, T = 350°C). TPD, TPR, and EPR experiments have demonstrated that the high activity of CuO/CoO/CeO2 is due to the strong interaction of the supported copper and cobalt oxides with cerium dioxide, which yields Cu-Co-Ce-O clusters on the surface. The carbonyl group in the complexes Coδ+-CO and Cu+-CO is oxidized by oxygen of the Cu-Co-Ce-O clusters at 140–160°C and by oxygen of the Co-Ce-O clusters at 240°C. The decrease in the activity of the catalysts at high temperatures is due to the fact that hydrogen reduces the clusters on which CO oxidation takes place, yielding Co0 and Cu0 particles, which are inactive in CO oxidation. The hydrogenation of CO into methane at high temperatures is due to the appearance of Co0 particles in the catalysts.  相似文献

The reducibility of Au catalysts on CeO2 supports doped with 1 and 2.5 mass% Y2O3 by two types of preparation methods (impregnation and co-precipitation) has been studied by temperature-programmed reduction and compared with that of pure Au/CeO2. The kinetic parameters of reduction were determined simulating each reduction process. The capacities of these catalysts to retain oxygen have been evaluated by temperature-programmed desorption. The catalytic activities in water gas shift reaction were determined measuring CO conversion between 413 and 623 K. The catalytic performances of all these catalysts were explained in terms of mobility of the oxygen ions of the CeO2 lattice.  相似文献

The selective oxidation of CO in the presence of hydrogen on CuO/CeO2 systems containing Fe and Ni oxides as promoters was studied. The catalysts containing 1–5 wt % CuO and 1–2.5 wt % Fe2O3 supported on CeO2 and the CuO/CeO2 systems containing 1–2.5 wt % NiO were synthesized, and their catalytic activity as a function of temperature was determined. It was found that the additives of Fe and Ni oxides increased the activity of the CuO/CeO2 catalysts with a low concentration of CuO. In this case, the conversion of CO at 150°C approached 100%. At the same time, these additives had no effect on the activity of the CuO/CeO2 systems at a CuO concentration of 5 wt % or higher, which exhibited an initially high activity in the above temperature region. The forms of CO adsorption and the amounts of active sites for CO adsorption and oxidation were studied using temperature-programmed desorption. It was found that the introduction of Fe and Ni additives in a certain preparation procedure facilitated the formation of an additional amount of active centers associated with CuO. Data on the temperature-programmed reduction of samples (the amount of absorbed hydrogen and the maximum temperature of hydrogen absorption) suggested the interaction of all catalyst components, and the magnitude of this interaction depended on the sample preparation procedure. With the use of Mössbauer spectroscopy, it was found that the procedure of iron oxide introduction into the CuO/CeO2 system was responsible for the electron-ion interactions of catalyst components and the reaction mixture.  相似文献

The catalytic properties of systems prepared by the supporting of CuO onto CeO2, ZrO2, and Zr0.5Ce0.5O2 with particle sizes of 15–25 nm (nitrate pyrolysis (p)) and 5–6 nm (microemulsion method (me)) in the reaction of CO oxidation in an excess of H2 were studied. In the latter case, the supports had an almost homogeneous surface and a small number of defects. The catalytic activity of (me) and (p) supports was low and almost the same, whereas the catalytic activity of CuO/(CeO2, ZrO2, and Zr0.5Ce0.5O2)(me) samples was lower than that of CuO/(CeO2 and ZrO2)(p). The maximum CO conversion (∼100% at 125°C) was observed on 5% CuO/CeO2 (p). The CO and CO2 adsorption species on (p) and (me) catalysts were studied by TPD. Differences in the compositions of copper-containing centers on the surfaces of (p) and (me) systems were found using TPR. The nature of the active centers of CO oxidation and the effect of support crystallite size on the catalytic activity were considered.  相似文献

Global warming, fossil fuel depletion and fuel price increases have motivated scientists to search for methods for the storage and reduction of the amount of greenhouse gases, especially CO2. The hydrogenation process has been introduced as an emerging method of CO2 capture and convertion into value-added products. In this study, new types of catalysts are introduced for CO2 hydrogenation and are compared based on catalytic activity and product selectivity. The physical properties of the samples are specified using BET. Iron catalysts supported on γ-Al2O3 with different metal promoters (X = Ni, K, Mn, Cu) are prepared through the impregnation method. Moreover, Fe–Ni catalysts supported on HZSM5-Al2O3 and Ce–Al2O3 are synthesized. Samples are reduced by pure H2 and involved in hydrogenation reaction in a fixed bed reactor (H2/CO2 = 3, total pressure = 10 MPa, temperature = 523 K, GHSV = 2000, 1250 nml/min). All catalysts provide high conversion in hydrogenation reactions and the results illustrate that the selectivity of light hydrocarbons is higher than that of methane and CO. It is found that Ni has a promoting effect on the conversion fluctuations throughout the reaction with 66.13% conversion. Using combined supported catalysts leads to enhancing catalytic performance. When Fe–Ni/γ–Al2O3—HZSM5 is utilized, CO2 conversion is 81.66% and the stability of the Fe–Ni catalyst supported on Al2O3 and Ce–Al2O3 furthey improves.  相似文献

Highly ordered mesoporous cerium dioxide (meso-CeO2) was successfully synthesized using a facile solvent-free infiltration method from a mesoporous silica template, KIT-6. The meso-CeO2 material, thus obtained, exhibited well-defined mesostructure and high surface area (153 m2 g−1). The physicochemical properties of meso-CeO2 material and Pd-supported on meso-CeO2 (Pd/meso-CeO2) were characterized by electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, N2 adsorption–desorption, and temperature-programmed experiments. The Pd/meso-CeO2 catalyst exhibited excellent catalytic activity for CO oxidation compared with those of other Pd/CeO2 catalysts which were prepared using nanocrystalline CeO2 and bulk-CeO2 as the supports. Moreover, a hydrogen pretreatment of the Pd/meso-CeO2 catalyst resulted in a remarkable increase of catalytic activity (T 100 = 52 °C).  相似文献

Herein, we report on the synthesis of ultrasmall Pd nanoclusters (∼2 nm) protected by L-cysteine [HOCOCH(NH2)CH2SH] ligands (Pdn(L-Cys)m) and supported on the surfaces of CeO2, TiO2, Fe3O4, and ZnO nanoparticles for CO catalytic oxidation. The Pdn(L-Cys)m nanoclusters supported on the reducible metal oxides CeO2, TiO2 and Fe3O4 exhibit a remarkable catalytic activity towards CO oxidation, significantly higher than the reported Pd nanoparticle catalysts. The high catalytic activity of the ligand-protected clusters Pdn(L-Cys)m is observed on the three reducible oxides where 100 % CO conversion occurs at 93–110 °C. The high activity is attributed to the ligand-protected Pd nanoclusters where the L-cysteine ligands aid in achieving monodispersity of the Pd clusters by limiting the cluster size to the active sub-2-nm region and decreasing the tendency of the clusters for agglomeration. In the case of the ceria support, a complete removal of the L-cysteine ligands results in connected agglomerated Pd clusters which are less reactive than the ligand-protected clusters. However, for the TiO2 and Fe3O4 supports, complete removal of the ligands from the Pdn(L-Cys)m clusters leads to a slight decrease in activity where the T100% CO conversion occurs at 99 °C and 107 °C, respectively. The high porosity of the TiO2 and Fe3O4 supports appears to aid in efficient encapsulation of the bare Pdn nanoclusters within the mesoporous pores of the support.  相似文献

Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) with ammonia has been considered as the most promising technology, as its effect deals with the NOX. Novel Fe-doped V2O5/TiO2 catalysts were prepared by sol–gel and impregnation methods. The effects of iron content and reaction temperature on the catalyst SCR reaction activity were explored by a test device, the results of which revealed that catalysts could exhibit the best catalytic activity when the iron mass ratio was 0.05%. It further proved that the VTiFe (0.05%) catalyst performed the best in denitration and its NOX conversion reached 99.5% at 270 °C. The outcome of experimental procedures: Brunauer–Emmett–Teller surface area, X-ray powder diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, temperature-programmed reduction and adsorption (H2-TPR, NH3-TPD) techniques showed that the iron existed in the form of Fe3+ and Fe2+ and the superior catalytic performance was attributed to the highly dispersed active species, lots of surface acid sites and absorbed oxygen. The modified Fe-doped catalysts do not only have terrific SCR activities, but also a rather broad range of active temperature which also enhances the resistance to SO2 and H2O.  相似文献

Higher alcohol has been considered as a potential fuel additive. Higher alcohol, including C2–C4 alcohol was synthesized by catalytic conversion of syngas (with a ratio of CO/H2?=?1) derived from natural gas over modified Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 catalyst. Modified Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 catalysts promoted by alkali metal (Li) for higher alcohol synthesis (HAS) were prepared at different pH (6, 6.5, 7, 8, and 9) by co-precipitation to control Cu surface area and characterized by N2 physisorption, XRD, SEM, H2-TPR and TPD. The HAS reaction was carried out under a pressure of 45 bar, GHSV of 4000 h?1, ratio of H2/CO?=?1, and temperature ranges of 240 and 280 °C. It was found that the malachite phase of copper causes the size of copper to be small, which is suitable for methanol synthesis. Methanol and HAS share a common catalytic active site and intermediate. It was also found that the productivity to higher alcohol was correlated with Cu surface area.  相似文献

Ni@CeO2 core–shell catalysts were synthesized via a facile surfactant-assisted hydrothermal method and their catalytic performance in the dry reforming of methane (DRM) reaction was evaluated. A variety of techniques including XRD, N2 adsorption–desorption, SEM, TEM, TPO, TGA were employed to characterize the prepared or spent catalysts. The encapsulation by the CeO2 shell, on one side, can restrict the sintering and growth of Ni nanoparticles under harsh reaction conditions. On the other side, compared to the conventional shell material of SiO2, CeO2 can provide more lattice oxygens and vacancies, which is helpful to suppress coke deposition. Consequently, the Ni@CeO2 core–shell catalysts exhibited better catalytic activity and stability in the DRM reaction with respect to the referenced Ni@SiO2 core–shell catalysts and Ni/CeO2 supported catalysts.  相似文献

The main reactions yielding hydrogen are the recombination of hydrogen atoms on copper clusters and methyl formate decomposition. Methyl formate results from the interaction between the linear methoxy group and the formate complex located on CuO. The source of CO2 appearing in the gas phase is the formate complex, and the source of CO is methyl formate. The rates of methoxy group conversion and product formation over supports (ZrO2, CeO2, Ce0.8Zr0.2O2) and copper-containing catalysts (5%Cu/CeO2, 5%Cu/ZrO2, 2%Cu/Ce0.8Zr0.2O2, 2%Cu/Ce0.1Y0.1Zr0.8) are compared. The dominant process in methoxy group conversion over the supports and copper-containing catalysts is methanol decomposition to H2 and CO and to H2 and CO2, respectively. The methoxy group conversion rate is proportional to the H2 and CO2 formation rate and is determined by the concentration of supported copper.  相似文献

CeO_2 supports were prepared by calcination or precipitation method and 5% MoO_3/CeO_2 catalysts were prepared by incipient-wetness impregnation method. The catalytic performance of the 5% MoO_3/CeO_2 catalysts toward sulfur-resistant methanation was investigated. The results showed that the Mo/Ce-1 catalysts with CeO_2 support prepared by calcination method exhibited the best sulfur-resistant methanation activity and stability with CO conversion as high as 75% while the Mo/Ce-3 catalysts the poorest. The supports and catalysts were characterized by N_2-adsorption–desorption, temperature-programmed reduction(TPR), X-ray diffraction(XRD), Raman spectroscopy(RS) and scanning electron microscope(SEM). The results indicated that the saturated monolayer loading MoO_3 on Ce-3 support was lower than 5% and there were some crystalline MoO_3 particles on the surface of the Mo/Ce-3. The preparation method of CeO_2 had a big influence on the specific surface area, the crystalline of CeO_2, and the catalytic performance of the corresponding Mo-based catalyst for sulfur-resistant methanation.  相似文献

The screening of commercial nickel catalysts for methanation and a series of nickel catalysts supported on CeO2, γ-Al2O3, and ZrO2 in the reaction of selective CO methanation in the presence of CO2 in hydrogen-containing mixtures (1.5 vol % CO, 20 vol % CO2, 10 vol % H2O, and the balance H2) was performed at the flow rate WHSV = 26000 cm3 (g Cat)−1 h−1. It was found that commercial catalytic systems like NKM-2A and NKM-4A (NIAP-07-02) were insufficiently effective for the selective removal of CO to a level of <100 ppm. The most promising catalyst is 2 wt % Ni/CeO2. This catalyst decreased the concentration of CO from 1.5 vol % to 100 ppm in the presence of 20 vol % CO2 in the temperature range of 280–360°C at a selectivity of >40%, and it retained its activity even after contact with air. The minimum outlet CO concentration of 10 ppm at 80% selectivity on a 2 wt % Ni/CeO2 catalyst was reached at a temperature of 300°C.  相似文献

Cerium dioxide as a component of CuO-ZnO-CeO2/Al2O3/cordierite catalysts stabilizes their action in the decomposition of methanol by preventing carbon deposition on the surface and facilitating hydrogen formation with selectivity and yield in the range 85–96%. The optimal indices for this reaction are obtained for a CeO2-CuO/Al2O3/cordierite sample prepared using an ammonium precursor for cerium, (NH4)2Ce(NO3)6. This catalyst displays enhanced reductive capacity relative to the analogous CeO2-CuO composition prepared using Ce(NO3)3·6H2O.  相似文献

The effect of the support composition on the Au-support interactions and its role in the creation of the activity of Au/CeO2-ZrO2 catalysts in CO oxidation has been studied. The CeO2-ZrO2 oxides and Au/CeO2-ZrO2 catalysts were synthesized, characterized by BET, XRD, HRTEM, AAS, TPR-H2, and tested in CO oxidation. An approximate evaluation of the H2 consumption for the surface reduction of the studied samples was estimated applying the model developed by Johnson and Mooi, which is based on the qualitative relationship between the amount of the capping oxygen and BET surface area. The sequence of the increasing percentage of O2 atoms in the capping peak to the total Ce atoms follows the sequence of the decreasing Zr/Ce molar ratio in the sample. The activity of Au/CeO2-ZrO2 catalysts depends on the support composition and increases with the decrease in Zr/Ce molar ratio.  相似文献

The CuO-CeO2/Al2O3 catalysts for the selective oxidation of CO in hydrogen-containing mixtures were prepared by surface self-propagating thermal synthesis (SSTS) with the use of cerium nitrate Ce(NO3)3, the ammonia complex of copper acetate [Cu(NH3)4](CH3COO)2, and citric acid C6H8O7 as a fuel additive. The effect of the C6H8O7/Ce(NO3)3 molar ratio on the catalyst activity and selectivity for oxygen was studied. The catalyst samples were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, temperature-programmed reduction (TPR-H2), IR spectroscopy of adsorbed CO, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). It was found that an increase in the C6H8O7/Ce(NO3)3 ratio resulted in an increase in the degree of dispersion of the resulting CeO2 phase. The greatest amount of dispersed CuO particles, which are responsible for catalytic activity in the oxidation of CO, was formed at C6H8O7/Ce(NO3)3 = 1.  相似文献

Copper doped ceria porous nanostructures with a tunable BET surface area were prepared using an efficient and general metal–organic-framework-driven, self-template route. The XRD, SEM and TEM results indicate that Cu2+ was successfully substituted into the CeO2 lattice and well dispersed in the CeO2:Cu2+ nanocrystals. The CeO2:Cu2+ nanocrystals exhibit a superior bifunctional catalytic performance for CO oxidation and selective catalytic reduction of NO. Interestingly, CO oxidation reactivity over the CeO2:Cu2+ nanocrystals was found to be dependent on the Cu2+ dopants and BET surface area. By tuning the content of Cu2+ and BET surface area through choosing different organic ligands, the 100% conversion temperature of CO over CeO2:Cu2+ nanocrystals obtained from thermolysis of CeCu–BPDC nanocrystals can be decreased to 110 °C. The porous nanomaterials show a high CO conversion rate without any loss in activity even after five cycles. Furthermore, the activity of the catalysts for NO reduction increased with the increase of BET surface, which is in accordance with the results of CO oxidation.
