We calculate the inelastic screening effect in hadron-deuteron elastic scattering, using a new technique. The main idea is to calculate explicitly the complex cut integral in the M2 plane, using an ansatz for the asymptotic behaviour of the six-point amplitude. In the hypothesis of pomeron dominance that contribution is real and small.  相似文献

The p-nucleus elastic scattering differential cross section at 1 GeV has been calculated for 12C, 58Ni and 208Pb using the Glauber multiple scattering theory. A reasonable fit to experimental data is obtained without adjustable parameter.  相似文献

The problem of hadron-deuteron quasi-elastic scattering is considered for large momentum transfers. The longitudinal part of the momentum transfer is included in the single and double scattering. It is shown that a simple enhancement factor relates the double scattering contribution to the differential cross section to the same quantity in Glauber theory.  相似文献

The main features of the polarization observed in proton-nucleus elastic scattering around 1 GeV are discussed. We shall first recall earlier results derived within a simple model. Differential elastic cross sections and polarizations are calculated in a multiple-scattering formalism for proton-nucleus scattering at 1 GeV incident energy. The calculations include Coulomb and spin effects. Corrections to the Glauber model are studied. It is shown that for momentum transfer up to 2.0–2.5 fm?1 the reaction mechanism can be taken with confidence. Consequently, fits to the experimental data over this limited range in q can be considered to extract nuclear structure information. In the present case, use has been made of nuclear densities arising from self-consistent calculations. The calculations are compared with experimental data.  相似文献

Recent measurements of differential and elastic cross-sections, slope parameters and ratios of the real and imaginary parts of the forward scattering amplitudes for pion-proton elastic scattering at 200 GeV/c have been fitted by using a simple Regge pole model with phenomenological residue functions. Elastic proton-helium cross sections and polarizations at 1.05 GeV are calculated in the multiple diffraction approximation with inclusion of intermediate isobar states. Antiproton-proton elastic scattering data at 6.2 GeV/c in the range 0.3 (GeV/c)2 ? ?t ? 10.0 (GeV/c)2 is presented. The experiment, using spark chambers and proportional chambers, was performed at the CERN Proton Synchroton.The dip at about ?t = 0.5 and the structure at about ?t = 2.2 (GeV/c)2 are equally strong at 6.2 GeV/c as they are at 5.0 GeV/c. The differential cross sections around 90° c.m. are not very different at 5.0 GeV/c and at 6.2 GeV/c, whereas in the backward region there is a decrease of the order of one magnitude.  相似文献

Differential cross sections for backward π?d elastic scattering (?1 ≦ cos θc.m ≦ ?0.98) have been measured at fourteen momenta from 0.98 to 1.76 GeV/c and at 2.45 GeV/c. Energy dependence of the cross section exibits a new wide structure at √s ≈ 2.9 GeV. Possible mechanisms of the reaction accounting for this structure are presented. We have measured the asymmetry parameter A and the spin correlation parameter Ann in pp elastic scattering, using the Argonne ZGS polarized proton beam and a polarized proton target. Angular distributions of A and Ann for |t| ? 0.2 (GeV/c)2wereobtainedateightmomentabetween 1.10 and 2if2.75 GeV/c. We find significant structure in both the energy and t-dependence of Ann at these energies. At plab ≈ 1.34 GeV/cAnn reaches a very large value of about 0.8–0.9 near θcm = 90°.  相似文献

The neutron-proton elastic differential cross section has been measured for incident momenta between 10 and 70 GeV/c and for values of the momentum transfer squared between 0.1 and 2.8 (GeV/c)2. We measured the differential cross section for p?p and pp elastic scattering in the momentum-transfer range 0.01 <|t| < 1.0 GeV2 at the CERN Intersecting Storage Rings with center-of-mass energy s = 52.8 GeV. Fitting the differential cross section with an exponential [Aexp (bt)], we found bpp = 13.92 ± 0.59 GeV?2 for |t| < 0.05 GeV2, whilst for |t| > 0.09 GeV2, bpp = 10.68 ± 0.26 GeV?2. Using the optical theorem, we obtained for the total cross section σtot(pp)= 44.86 ± 0.78 mb and, by integrating the differential cross section, we obtained for the total elastic cross section σel(pp) = 7.89 ± 0.28 mb. Calculations of σtot combining elastic-rate and total-rate measurements are also given. All of these measurements were also performed for pp scattering at the same energy, and the results for both reactions are compared.  相似文献

The cross section for backward elastic pd scattering in the proton kinetic energy interval from 0.4 to 1.0 GeV is calculated from a double-triangle diagram with intermediate Δ(1232) excitation. Different approximations for the loop integrals are discussed. The predicted cross sections reproduce quite well the enhancement observed in the experimental data at about 600 MeV.  相似文献

The differential cross-section for 5 GeV/+p and πp elastic scattering have been measured in the c.m. angular region 27° < θcm < 130° corresponding to 0.5 < |t| < 7.8 (GeV/c)2. Excitation functions AN(plab,c.m.) of the analyzing power in elastic proton-proton scattering have been measured in an internal target experiment at the Cooler Synchrotron COSY with an unpolarized proton beam and a polarized atomic hydrogen target. Data were taken continuously during the acceleration and deceleration for proton kinetic energies Tlab (momenta plab) between 0.45 and 2.5 GeV (1.0 and 3.3 GeV/c) and scattering angles 30 ° c.m. 90°. The results provide excitation functions and angular distributions of high precision and internal consistency. The data can be used as calibration standard between 0.45 and 2.5 GeV. They have significant impact on phase shift solutions, in particular on the spin triplet phase shifts between 1.0 and 1.8 GeV.  相似文献
