The spreading behavior and supramolecular assemblies of some arylbenzimidazoles with 2-substituted aromatic groups such as phenyl, naphthyl, anthryl and pyrenyl on water surface and the subphase containing AgNO3 were investigated. It was observed that although these compounds lack long alkyl chains, they showed surface activity when spread from chloroform solution on water surface and formed the supramolecular assemblies. When AgNO3 was present in the subphase, a coordination between the imidazole group of the compounds and Ag(I) occurred in situ in the spreading film, which was verified by the surface pressure/area (pi-A) isotherms and UV/Vis absorption spectra. Both the spreading films from water and the aqueous AgNO3 subphase were transferred onto solid substrates and their surface morphologies as well as properties were characterized by AFM, UV/Vis absorption and CD spectra. Various surface morphologies such as nanoparticles, block domains and nanoutensils were observed depending on the substituted aromatic groups. Interestingly, although all of these compounds were achiral, supramolecular chirality was obtained for some of the arylbenzimidazole films assembled from either the water surface or the subphase containing AgNO3. It was revealed that chiral assemblies could be obtained from water surface for the benzimidazoles which have pyrenyl or alpha-naphthyl groups. For benzimidazole derivative with anthryl group, chiral assemblies could be obtained when spreading on the aqueous AgNO3 subphase. For the benzimidazoles with phenyl or beta-naphthyl groups, no chirality was obtained. It was suggested that both the overcrowded stacking of the aromatic groups and the cooperative arrangement of the molecules on water surface or aqueous AgNO3 subphase play a crucial role in forming the chiral supramolecular assemblies.  相似文献

The zwitterionic lambda(5)Si,lambda(5)Si'-disilicates 1-8 were synthesized and characterized by solid-state and solution NMR spectroscopy. In addition, compounds 26 H(2)O, 32 CH(3)CN, 45/2 CH(3)CN, 6CH(3)OH, 7, and 8CH(3)OHCH(3)CN were studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The optically active (Delta,Delta,R,R,R,R)-configured compounds 1-8 contain two pentacoordinate (formally negatively charged) silicon atoms and two tetracoordinate (formally positively charged) nitrogen atoms. One (ammonio)alkyl group is bound to each of the two silicon centers, and two tetradentate (R,R)-tartrato(4-) ligands bridge the silicon atoms. Although these lambda(5)Si,lambda(5)Si'-disilicates contain SiO(4)C skeletons, some of them display a remarkable stability in aqueous solution as shown by NMR spectroscopy and ESI mass spectrometry.  相似文献

We present a comprehensive investigation of the modular assembly of surface-supported metal-organic coordination systems with specific topologies and high structural stability formed by vapor deposition of 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid molecules and iron atoms on a Cu(100) surface under ultra-high vacuum conditions. By making use of the two carboxylate moieties available for lateral linkage to Fe atoms, we succeeded in the fabrication of distinct Fe-carboxylate coordination architectures at the surface by carefully adjusting the ligand and metal concentration ratio and the temperature of the post-deposition annealing treatment. The mononuclear, 1D-polymeric and fully 2D-reticulated metallosupramolecular arrangements obtained were characterized in situ at the single-molecule level by scanning tunneling microscopy.  相似文献

Click chemistry has been utilized to access 2,6-bis(1-aryl-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)pyridines (BTPs) as versatile extended heteroaromatic building blocks for their exploitation in supramolecular chemistry, in particular foldamer and ligand design. In addition to their high-yielding synthesis using Cu(I)-catalyzed Huisgen-type 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions the formed triazole moieties constitute an integral part of the BTP framework and encode both its pronounced conformational preferences as well as its chelating ability. A diverse set of symmetrical and non-symmetrical BTPs carrying electron-donating and -withdrawing substituents at both terminal aryl and the central pyridine moieties has efficiently been synthesized and could furthermore readily be postfunctionalized with amphiphilic side chains and porphyrin chromophores. In both solution and solid state, the BTP scaffold adopts a highly conserved horseshoe-like anti-anti conformation. Upon protonation or metal coordination, the BTP scaffold switches to the chelating syn-syn conformation. Iron and europium complexes have been prepared, successfully characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, and investigated with regard to their spin state and luminescent properties. The extended heteroaromatic BTP scaffold should prove useful for the design of responsive foldamer backbones and the preparation of new magnetic and emissive materials.  相似文献

Organostannoxane-based multiredox assemblies containing ferrocenyl peripheries have been readily synthesized by a simple one-pot synthesis, either by a solution method or by room-temperature solid-state synthesis, in nearly quantitative yields. The number of ferrocenyl units in the multiredox assembly is readily varied by stoichiometric control as well as by the choice of the organotin precursors. Thus, the reaction of the diorganotin oxides, R2SnO (R = Ph, nBu and tBu) with ferrocene carboxylic acid affords tetra-, di-, and mononuclear derivatives [{Ph2Sn[OC(O)Fc]2}2] (1), [{[nBu2SnOC(O)Fc]2O}2] (2), [nBu2Sn{OC(O)Fc}2] (3), [{tBu2Sn(OH)OC(O)Fc}2] (4), and [tBu2Sn{OC(O)Fc}2] (5) (Fc = eta(5)C5H4-Fe-eta(5)C5H5). The reaction of triorganotin oxides, R3SnOSnR3 (R = nBu and Ph) with ferrocene carboxylic acid leads to the formation of the mono-nuclear derivatives [Ph3SnOC(O)Fc] (6) and [{nBu3SnOC(O)Fc}(n)] (7). Molecular structures of the compounds 1-4 and 6 have been determined by single-crystal X-ray analysis. The molecular structure of compound 1 is new among organotin carboxylates. In this compound, ferrocenyl carboxylates are involved in both chelating and bridging coordination modes to the tin atoms to form an eight-membered cyclic structure. In all of these compounds, the acidic protons of the cyclopentadienyl groups are hydrogen bonded to the carboxylate oxygens (C-HO) to form rich supramolecular assemblies. In addition to this, pi-pi, T-shaped, L-shaped, and side-to-face stacking interactions involving ferrocenyl groups also occur. Compound 6 shows an interesting and novel intermolecular CO2-pi stacking interaction. Electrochemical analysis of the compounds 1-4, 6, and 7 shows a single, quasi-reversible oxidation peak corresponding to the simultaneous oxidation of four, two, and one ferrocenyl substituents, respectively. Compound 5 shows two quasi-reversible oxidation peaks. This is attributed to the positional difference among the ferrocenyl substituents on the tin atom. Additionally, while compounds 2 and 4 are electrochemically quite robust and do not decompose even after ten continuous CV cycles, compounds 1, and 3, 5-7 start to show decomposition after five cycles.  相似文献

Structural correlation in a series of eight silver(I) complexes bearing substituted phenylethynide ligands was systematically investigated through variation of the position or steric bulk of substituents on the aromatic ring. All coordination frameworks are constructed with the supramolecular synthon Ar--C triple bond C superset Ag(n) (Ar=4-MeC6H4, 3-MeC6H4, 2-MeC6H4, 4-tBuC6H4, 3,5-(CF3)2C6H3; n=4, 5), and the presence of coexisting ligands was found to influence the supramolecular assembly. The role of pi-pi stacking, C--Hpi and Ag-C(aromatic) interactions in stabilizing the coordination networks is also discussed.  相似文献

Water‐soluble guest–host complexes are prepared in a two‐step process. For this a new, polydisperse ethylene glycol containing guest molecule is synthesized that is soluble in both chloroform and water. This guest is able to bind to urea–adamantyl‐modified poly(propylene imine) dendrimers in chloroform in a noncovalent manner. When the chloroform is slowly evaporated and D2O is added, the hydrophobic dendrimer is solubilized in water. This is not possible when the hydrophobic dendrimer is directly added to the hydrophilic guests in water. When the unmodified poly(ethylene glycol) starting material is used, no solubilization occurs, and this indicates that the urea–acetic acid head group is necessary to solubilize the dendrimer. Approximately 26 guests are required for solubilization of the dendrimer. A lower number of guests results in aggregation and precipitation of the dendrimer. A monodisperse guest molecule has been used in NMR studies to show that the guest molecule binds with its acidic head group to the periphery of the dendrimer. This methodology opens the way to functional dendrimer aggregates in aqueous media. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 43: 6431–6437, 2005  相似文献

Room temperature reactions of the ternary adducts of AgNO3, bipodal ligand [4,4′-bipyridine (4,4′-bpy) or trans-1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene (tbpe) or 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane (bpe)] and organic ligand [4-aminobenzoic acid (4-aba) or 4-hydroxybenzoic acid (4-hba) or terephthalate ion (tph)] afford new 3-D supramolecular coordination polymers (SCPs), namely, {[Ag(4,4′-bpy) · H2O](4-ab) · 2H2O} (1), {[Ag(tbpe)]0.5(4-hb) · 3H2O} (2), [Ag2(L)2 · (tph)] (L = 4,4′-bpy, tbpe) (3,4) and {[Ag2(bpe)2 · (tph)] · 2H2O} (5). The bipodal ligand coordinates to silver forming a 1-D cationic chain (A), while the organic ligand and solvent form a 1-D anionic chain (B) via hydrogen bonds. The chains construct layers which are connected via hydrogen bonds and π–π stacking forming a 3-D network structure. The presence of the carboxylate, amino and hydroxyl groups in the organic ligands significantly extend the dimensionality via hydrogen bonds. All the SCPs 1–5 exhibit strong luminescence.  相似文献

An ultrasound-assisted nanoscaled supramolecular coordination polymer (nanosized 1′ ) has been synthesized using a self-assembly reaction of K3[Cu (CN)4] and hexamethylenetetramine in the presence of Me3SnCl under ambient conditions. Nanosized 1′ was examined using elemental analysis, Fourier transform–infrared, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray powder diffractions. It was structurally compared with the single crystal supramolecular coordination polymer 3[Cu6(CN)7(C6H12N4)2(OH3)]; SCP 1. The photocatalytic activities of nanosized 1′ and SCP 1 toward different hazardous organic dyes were determined under ambient, UV-light irradiation and ultrasonic conditions. SCP 1 and nanosized 1′ as heterogeneous nanoparticles catalysts exhibited high catalytic activity for degradation of Congo Red, Methyl Violet 2B and Methylene Blue dyes. The effects of operational parameters on catalytic degradation process, identification of the degradation products and recycling of the catalyst were also investigated. SCP 1 and nanosized 1′ are recyclable heterogeneous catalysts and can be reused with efficient activities. The mechanism of degradation using different scavenger techniques iss proposed and discussed. The catalytic oxidation process is mainly caused by OH radicals.  相似文献

Hierarchical chiral structures made up of dendritic oligo(L- or D-glutamic acid) moieties of folic acid derivatives induce supramolecular chirality in the self-assembled columnar structures of the folic acids. These folic acids self-assemble through the intermolecular hydrogen bonds of the pterin rings to form disklike tetramers. In the neat states, the stacked tetramers form thermotropic hexagonal columnar phases over wide temperature ranges, including room temperature. Addition of alkali metal salts induces chirality in the columnar phases. In dilute solution states in a relatively polar solvent (chloroform), the folic acid derivatives form non-chiral, self-assembled structures. In the presence of sodium triflate, the folic acid forms chiral columnar assemblies through the oligo(L-glutamic acid) moiety, similar to those formed in the liquid-crystalline (LC) states. The enantiomer of the folic acid induces columnar assemblies with reversed helicity. In the case of the diastereomer, no induced helicity is observed. Application of an apolar solvent (dodecane) drives the folic acid derivatives to form chiral assemblies in the absence of ions. In this case, lipophilic interactions promote nanophase segregation, which enhances the formation of chiral columns. Interestingly, the chiral supramolecular structure of the diastereomer induces the most intense circular dichroism. In both cases, the molecular chirality in the oligo(glutamate) moieties yields supramolecular chirality of the folic acids that self-assemble through cooperative molecular interactions.  相似文献

A modular construction kit with two orthogonal noncovalent binding sites for self-assembly of supramolecular architectures is presented. The heteroditopic building blocks contain a terpyridine (tpy) unit for coordination of metal ions and a Hamilton receptor for multiple H-bonding of cyanuric acid derivatives. The association constants of ligand binding of M(II) complexes (M=Ru, Zn, Fe, and Pt) with a dendritic end cap were determined to be in the range of 10(2) and 10(4) L mol(-1) in chloroform. The capabilities for binding of metal ions were investigated by (1)H NMR and UV/Vis spectroscopy. The Fe complexes are most appropriate for the generation of discrete and high-ordered architectures due to their strong tendency to form FeL(2) complexes. Superstructures are readily formed in a one-pot procedure at room temperature. No mutual interactions between the orthogonal binding motifs were observed, and this demonstrates the highly specific nature of each binding process. Decomplexation experiments were carried out to examine the reversibility of Fe-tpy coordination. Substitution of the terminal end cap with a homoditopic bis-cyanurate linkage leads to formation of an iron-containing supramolecular strand. Formation of coordination polymers was confirmed by viscosity measurements. The supramolecular polymer strands can be reversibly cleaved by addition of a terminating cyanuric acid building block, and this proves the dynamic nature of this noncovalent polymerization process.  相似文献

The synthesis of a new tetralactam macrocycle and the simultaneous formation of catenanes and larger octalactam macrocycles is reported. These species bear 2,2'-biquinoline moieties suitably positioned to bind a metal center at the outer periphery of the macrocycles. (1)H NMR chemical shifts permit the unambiguous distinction of transoid and cisoid conformations of the biquinoline moiety, thereby allowing an unequivocal identification of the catenane and octalactam structures, despite the fact that both have the same elemental composition and bear identical structural subunits. With the aid of an anion template effect, rotaxanes can be prepared from the smaller tetralactam macrocycle. These reveal significantly altered requirements in terms of the stopper size as compared to previously reported tetralactam wheels. Several copper(I)-mediated dimers and a (bpy)(2)Ru(II) complex (bpy=2,2'-bipyridine) have been synthesized from the tetralactam macrocycle and the rotaxanes. The anion binding abilities of the tetralactam macrocycle and its (bpy)(2)Ru(II) complex in DMSO have been compared by (1)H NMR titration experiments, which revealed significantly enhanced binding by the metal complex. Mass spectrometry has been used to study the potential formation of larger assemblies of copper(I) and the catenane built-up from two tetralactam macrocycles. Indeed, a 2:2 complex was identified. In contrast, the octalactam macrocycle of the same elemental composition yields only 1:1 complexes, with the Cu(I) ion connecting its two biquinoline moieties in the center of a figure-eight-shaped molecule. Molecular modeling studies support the structural assignments made.  相似文献
