Let H, A and B be subgroups of a group G. We call the pair (A, B) a θ-pair for H in G if: (i) \({\langle H, A\rangle=G}\) and B = (AH) G ; (ii) if A 1/B is a proper subgroup of A/B and \({{A_1/B \vartriangleleft G/B}}\), then \({G\neq \langle H, A_1\rangle}\). In this paper, we study the θ-pairs for 2-maximal subgroups of a group, which imply a group to be solvable or supersolvable.  相似文献

Let π be a set of primes. A subgroup H of a finite group G is said to be π-S-permutable in G if H permutes with every Sylow q-subgroup of G for all primes qπ. The main aim of this paper is to establish structural results about the normal closure of π-S-permutable subgroups and p-subgroups permuting with all p′-subgroups for a single prime p. Our results stem from a recent article by Isaacs [5] and subsequent discussions with the authors about it.  相似文献

We study the influence of τ-primitive subgroups on the structure of finite groups. We consider the so-called Jordan-Pochhammer systems, a special class of linear Pfaffian systems of Fuchsian type on complex linear (or projective) spaces. These systems appeared as systems of differential equations for hypergeometric type integrals in which the integrand is a product of powers of linear functions. These systems also arise in some reductions of the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations. The main advantage of these systems is the possibility of presenting a basis in the solution space of such systems in an explicit integral form and, as a consequence, of describing their monodromy representation. The main focus in the paper is placed on the applications of Jordan-Pochhammer systems. We describe the relationship of Jordan-Pochhammer systems to isomonodromic deformations of Fuchsian systems that are described by the Schlesinger equations, as well as to the linearization of the dynamical system of bending spatial polygons. We also describe the application of Jordan-Pochhammer systems to constructing Kohno systems on the Manin-Schechtman configuration spaces.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group. For a finite p-group P the subgroup generated by all elements of order p is denoted by Ω1(p). Zhang [5] proved that if P is a Sylow p-subgroup of G, Ω1(P) ≦ Z(P) and N G (Z(P)) has a normal p-complement, then G has a normal p-complement. The object of this paper is to generalize this result. We prove the following: (1) For every \({n \geq 2}\), there are infinitely many, mutually non-similar n-dimensional simplices in \({\mathbb{R}^n}\) whose dihedral angles are all rational multiples of π. (2) For every \({n \geq 3}\), there are uncountably many, mutually non-similar n-simplices whose dihedral angles and π are linearly independent over the rational field. Moreover, in the set of all n-simplices in \({\mathbb{R}^n}\) the subset of such n-simplices is everywhere dense with respect to the Hausdorff distance.  相似文献

We will derive a new discreteness condition for n-dimensional M?bius subgroups as well as obtain some results concerning classification of such groups. We will also discuss dense subgroups of n-dimensional M?bius groups. In the present paper for arbitrary automorphism φ of the free Bunside group B(m, n) and for any odd number n ≥ 1003 a sufficient condition for existence of non-φ-admissible normal subgroup of B(m, n) was found. Let G be a finite group. We say that a subgroup H of G is weakly SΦ-supplemented in G if G has a subgroup T such that G = HT and HT ≤ Φ(H)HsG, where HsG is the subgroup of H generated by all those subgroups of H that are s-permutable in G. In this paper, we investigate the influence of weakly SΦ-supplemented subgroups on the structure of finite groups. Sufficient conditions for the blow-up of nontrivial generalized solutions of the interior Dirichlet problem with homogeneous boundary condition for the homogeneous elliptic-type equation Δu + q(x)u = 0, where either q(x) ≠ const or q(x) = const= λ > 0, are obtained. We investigate the relation between analytic Campanato spaces \(\mathcal {AL}_{p,s}\) and the spaces F(pqs), characterize the bounded and compact Riemann–Stieltjes operators from \(\mathcal {AL}_{p,s}\) to \(F(p,p-s-1,s)\). Given a nonempty set ω of primes and a nonempty formation F of finite groups, we define the F ω -normalizer in a finite group and study their properties (existence, invariance under certain homomorphisms, conjugacy, embedding, and so on) in the case that F is an ω-local formation. In the present paper we consider a q-analog of t–(v,k,)-designs. It is canonic since it arises by replacing sets by vector spaces over GF(q), and their orders by dimensions. These generalizations were introduced by Thomas [Geom.Dedicata vol. 63, pp. 247–253 (1996)] they are called t –(v,k,;q)- designs. A few of such q-analogs are known today, they were constructed using sophisticated geometric arguments and case-by-case methods. It is our aim now to present a general method that allows systematically to construct such designs, and to give complete catalogs (for small parameters, of course) using an implemented software package.   In order to attack the (highly complex) construction, we prepare them for an enormous data reduction by embedding their definition into the theory of group actions on posets, so that we can derive and use a generalization of the Kramer-Mesner matrix for their definition, together with an improved version of the LLL-algorithm. By doing so we generalize the methods developed in a research project on t –(v,k,)-designs on sets, obtaining this way new results on the existence of t–(v,k,;q)-designs on spaces for further quintuples (t,v,k,;q) of parameters.
