Let U n be an n × n Haar unitary matrix. In this paper, the asymptotic normality and independence of Tr U n , Tr U n 2 ,..., Tr U n k are shown by using elementary methods. More generally, it is shown that the renormalized truncated Haar unitaries converge to a Gaussian random matrix in distribution. Let Um be an m×m Haar unitary matrix and U[m,n] be its n×n truncation. In this paper the large deviation is proven for the empirical eigenvalue density of U[m,n] as m/nλ and n→∞. The rate function and the limit distribution are given explicitly. U[m,n] is the random matrix model of quq, where u is a Haar unitary in a finite von Neumann algebra, q is a certain projection and they are free. In this article, we present some new perturbation bounds for the (subunitary) unitary polar factors of the (generalized) polar decompositions. Two numerical examples are given to show the rationality and superiority of our results, respectively. In this paper, by generalizing the ideas of the (generalized) polar decomposition to the weighted polar decomposition and the unitarily invariant norm to the weighted unitarily invariant norm, we present some perturbation bounds for the generalized positive polar factor, generalized nonnegative polar factor, and weighted unitary polar factor of the weighted polar decomposition in the weighted unitarily invariant norm. These bounds extend the corresponding recent results for the (generalized) polar decomposition. In addition, we also give the comparison between the two perturbation bounds for the generalized positive polar factor obtained from two different methods. This short note reports a lowest order divergence‐free Stokes element on quadrilateral meshes. The velocity space is based on a P1 spline element over the crisscross partition of a quadrilateral, and the pressure is approximated by piecewise constant. For a given quadrilateral mesh, this element is stable if and only if the well‐known Q1P0 element is also stable. Although this method is a subspace method of Qin‐Zhang's P1P0 element, their velocity solutions are precisely equal. Moreover, an explicit basis representation is also provided. These theoretical findings are verified by numerical tests.  相似文献
