p‐Toluenesulfonic acid (TsOH) and several alkyl p‐toluenesulfonates, that is, methyl p‐toluenesulfonate (TsOMe), cyclohexyl p‐toluenesulfonate (TsOCH), and neopentyl p‐toluenesulfonate (TsONP), were evaluated as initiators for the ring‐opening polymerization of benzoxazines. TsOH and TsOMe were highly efficient initiators that induced the polymerization at 60 and 80 °C, respectively. In contrast, TsOCH and TsONP did not initiate the polymerization below 100 °C, while they induced the polymerization at elevated temperatures, 120 and 150 °C, respectively. When TsOCH was used as an initiator, the corresponding polymerization rate was comparable to that observed for the polymerization with using TsOH as an initiator. These results suggested that neutral TsOCH and TsONP can be regarded as “thermally latent initiators,” which underwent the thermal dissociation at the elevated temperatures to generate the corresponding alkyl cations and/or TsOH as the initiators of the polymerization. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The click chemistry strategy is successfully applied for the preparation of three‐arm star (A3) ring opening metathesis polymers. A well‐defined monoazide end‐functionalized poly(N‐ethyl oxanorbornene) and a poly(N‐butyl oxanorbornene) obtained via ring opening metathesis polymerization using first generation Grubbs' catalyst are simply clicked with the trisalkyne core affording the synthesis of target star polymers. The obtained star polymers are characterized via nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and gel permeation chromatography (GPC). The deconvolution analyses of GPC traces reveal that the click reaction efficiency for the star formation strongly depends on the chemical nature and the molecular weight of ROM polymers. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Methoxy or nitro group present in the furan ring of tertiary alkenylfurfurylamine changes the expected results of both, the intramolecular [4+2]cycloaddition and the acid catalyzed ring‐opening reaction of the derived oxatricycloadduct. With a 5‐methoxy group, in addition to the expected 5‐methoxyisoindoline 3 , the corresponding hydroxy derivative 5 was obtained. On the other hand a 5‐nitro group changes the outcome of the reaction even more profoundly. Instead of the expected 5‐nitroisoindoline 12 , 5‐nitro‐substituted epoxy‐isoindoline 6 submitted to ring‐opening reaction with the mixture of hydrobromic and acetic acid, yielded the mixture of bromo‐substituted epoxy compounds 7,8, 9 and/or bromo‐substituted isoindolines 10 and 11 .  相似文献

This study describes a novel precision synthesis strategy for graft copolymers using Friedel–Crafts‐type termination reaction between a cationically prepared poly(styrene derivative) and the naphthyl side groups from a poly(vinyl ether) main chain. The pendant alkoxynaphthyl groups on the poly(vinyl ether) efficiently terminated the living cationic polymerization of p‐acetoxystyrene (AcOSt) with SnCl4 in the presence of ethyl acetate as an added base. This research provides the first example of a well‐defined graft copolymer prepared using this method. The resulting polymer contained 40 poly‐(AcOSt) branches, as calculated from the Mw determined via gel permeation chromatography–MALS analysis, which was in good agreement with the estimated number of branches obtained from 1H NMR analysis. The acetoxy groups in the grafted poly(AcOSt) chains were easily converted into phenolic hydroxy groups under basic conditions. The as‐obtained graft copolymer with poly(p‐hydroxystyrene) side chains exhibited a pH‐sensitive phase separation in water. The synthetic method for preparing the graft copolymers was also effective in the living cationic polymerizations of other styrene derivatives. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. A general method for the synthesis of isocoumarine derivatives has been developed. Bis(5‐R‐2‐furyl)methylbenzoic acids (R = methyl, ethyl) underwent recyclization and subsequent cyclization into tetracyclic isochromene‐1‐one derivatives under treatment with hydrogen chloride in methanol. It has been shown that intermediate 4‐(5‐R‐furan‐2‐yl)‐3‐(3‐oxo‐3‐R‐propyl)‐isochromene‐1‐ones can be obtained selectively by varying a concentration of the hydrogen chloride and reaction times. In the case of R = tert‐butyl only corresponding 4‐[5‐(tert‐butyl)‐2‐furyl]‐3‐(4,4‐dimethyl‐3‐oxopentyl)‐1‐isochromenones were isolated regardless of the reaction conditions.  相似文献

The inequivalence of substitution pair positions of naphthalene ring has been investigated by a theoretical measurement of hydrogen bond strength, aromaticity, and excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) reaction as the tools in three substituted naphthalene compounds viz 1‐hydroxy‐2‐naphthaldehyde (HN12), 2‐hydroxy‐1‐naphthaldehyde (HN21), and 2‐hydroxy‐3‐naphthaldehyde (HN23). The difference in intramolecular hydrogen bond (IMHB) strength clearly reflects the inequivalence of substitution pairs where the calculated IMHB strength is found to be greater for HN12 and HN21 than HN23. The H‐bonding interactions have been explored by calculation of electron density ρ(r) and Laplacian ?2ρ(r) at the bond critical point using atoms in molecule method and by calculation of interaction between σ* of OH with lone pair of carbonyl oxygen atom using NBO analysis. The ground and excited state potential energy surfaces (PESs) for the proton transfer reaction at HF (6‐31G**) and DFT (B3LYP/6‐31G**) levels are similar for HN12, HN21 and different for HN23. The computed aromaticity of the two rings of naphthalene moiety at B3LYP/6‐31G** method also predicts similarity between HN12 and HN21, but different for HN23. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A silica‐based reversed‐phase stationary phase bonding with phenyl and tetrazole groups was synthesized by thiol‐epoxy ring opening reaction. The bonded groups could not only provide hydrophobic interaction, but also π–π, hydrogen bonding, electrostatic interactions, and so on. The results of characterization with elemental analysis and solid‐state 13C cross‐polarization magic‐angle‐spinning NMR spectroscopy indicated the successful preparation of phenyl/tetrazole sulfoether bonded stationary phase. Chromatographic evaluation revealed that phenyl/tetrazole sulfoether bonded stationary phase behaved well under the reversed‐phase mode. The column parameters (H, S*, A, B, and C) showed different selectivity compared with some typical commercial columns, and it was validated by the separation of estrogen, ginsenoside, alkaloid samples. Based on the different selectivity between phenyl/tetrazole sulfoether bonded stationary phase and C18 columns, phenyl/tetrazole sulfoether bonded stationary phase also showed potential to construct a 2D reversed‐phase liquid chromatography system with C18. And it was verified by the separation of corydalis tuber and curcuma zedoary extracts.  相似文献

A new method for the production of p‐hydroquinone via a Pt/C‐catalyzed reduction of p‐benzoquinone is developed. Different from the conventional transfer hydrogenation reactions that usually use secondary alcohols such as isopropanol as the hydrogen source, in this work, it is unexpectedly found that cyclohexanone is a more effective hydrogen source than secondary alcohols, even cyclohexanol. This reaction affords acceptable yields of p‐hydroquinone with very high turnover number (1109) of the Pt/C catalyst. A mechanism of this interesting reaction is proposed on the basis of the results of a series of control experiments, GC–MS analysis as well as dynamic studies.  相似文献

Latex particles based on 1,4‐polybutadiene were synthesized via dispersion ring‐opening metathesis copolymerization of 1,5‐cyclooctadiene with a α‐norbornenyl poly(ethylene oxide) macromonomer. Stable but polydisperse colloidal dispersions in the 50 nm to 10 μm size range were obtained. In this work, particular attention was paid to the effects of the kinetics of copolymerization on the structure of the graft copolymers formed and on the onset of turbidity. Strategies to prepare monodisperse polybutadiene particles were also designed through the growth of a polybutadiene shell from a well‐defined polynorbornene seed. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 1H‐Indeno[1,2‐d]pyrimidine‐2,5(3H,9bH)‐dione derivatives 2(a‐i) and 2,3‐dihydro‐2‐thioxo‐1H‐indeno[1,2‐d]pyrimidine‐5(9bH)‐ones 2(j‐q) were synthesized via an intramolecular Friedel‐Crafts reaction between the aryl and ester group of ethyl 6‐methyl‐4‐aryl‐2‐oxo‐1,2,3,4‐tetrahydropyrimidine‐5‐carboxylates 1a‐i , and their thioxo analogs using AlCl3 and acetyl chloride in nitrobenzene. Yields of the products, after washing with THF, were of the order of 45‐69%. IR and NMR spectroscopy together with elemental analysis were used for identification of these compounds.  相似文献

In benzene‐1,2,3‐tricarbonitrile, C9H3N3, the packing of the two independent molecules is three‐dimensional and complex, involving inter alia bifurcated (C—H)2...N systems from neighbouring CH groups. In [2.2]paracyclophane‐4,5,12,13‐tetracarbonitrile, C20H12N4, the [2.2]paracyclophane systems display the usual distortions, namely lengthened C—C bonds and widened sp3 angles in the bridges, narrow angles in the six‐membered rings at the bridgehead atoms, and flattened boat conformations of the rings. Reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization and bifunctional sparteine/thiourea organocatalyst‐mediated ring opening polymerization (ROP) were combined to produce poly(L ‐lactide) star polymers and poly(L ‐lactide‐co‐styrene) miktoarm star copolymers architecture following a facile experimental procedure, and without the need for specialist equipment. RAFT was used to copolymerize ethyl acrylate (EA) and hydroxyethyl acrylate (HEA) into poly(EA‐co‐HEA) co‐oligomers of degree of polymerization 10 with 2, 3, and 4 units of HEA, which were in turn used as multifunctional initiators for the ROP of L ‐lactide, using a bifunctional thiourea organocatalytic system. Furthermore, taking advantage of the living nature of RAFT polymerization, the multifunctional initiators were chain extended with styrene (poly((EA‐co‐HEA)‐b‐styrene) copolymers), and used as initiators for the ROP of L ‐lactide, to yield miktoarm star copolymers. The ROP reactions were allowed to proceed to high conversions (>95%) with good control over molecular weights (ca. 28,000‐230,000 g/mol) and polymer structures being observed, although the molecular weight distributions are generally broader (1.3–1.9) than those normally observed for ROP reactions. The orthogonality of both polymerization techniques, coupled with the ubiquity of HEA, which is used as a monomer for RAFT polymerization and as an initiator for ROP, offer a versatile approach to star‐shaped copolymers. Furthermore, this approach offers a practical approach to the synthesis of polylactide star polymers without a glove box or stringent reaction conditions. The photochemical reaction between three A5‐steroids (1–3) and a series of substituted 1,4‐benzoquinones and their mechanistic study were reported. The reaction in nitrogen atmosphere led to the formation of three products including the steroid‐quinone coupling compound (A), 7‐hydroxy derivatives of Δ5‐steroids (B) and substituted 1, 4‐hydroquinone (C). Both chemical and spectrometric evidences such as UV‐Visible spectra, ESR, chemically induced dynamic nuclear polarization (CIDNP) and cyclic voltammetry (CV) verified that the title reaction underwent a predominant photoinduced electron transfer pathway via the triplet quinone.  相似文献

The molecular structure and intramolecular hydrogen bond energy of 32 conformers of 4‐methylamino‐3‐penten‐2‐one were investigated at MP2 and B3LYP levels of theory using the standard 6–31G** basis set and AIM analyses. Furthermore, calculations for all the possible conformations of 4‐methylamino‐3‐penten‐2‐one in water solution were also carried out at B3LYP/6–31G** level of theory. The calculated geometrical parameters and conformational analyses in gas phase and water solution show that the ketoamine conformers of this compound are more stable than the other conformers (i.e., enolimine and ketoimine). This stability is mainly due to the formation of a strong N? H···O intramolecular hydrogen bond, which is assisted by π‐electrons resonance. Hydrogen bond energies for all conformers of 4‐methylamino‐3‐penten‐2‐one were obtained from the related rotamers method. The nature of intramolecular hydrogen bond existing within 4‐methylamino‐3‐penten‐2‐one has been investigated by means of the Bader theory of atoms in molecules, which is based on topological properties of the electron density. The intramolecular hydrogen bond strength of 3‐hydroxy‐propenethial (HPT) as well as the fluoro, chloro, bromo, and methyl derivatives were investigated at the B3LYP/6‐311++G** level of theory. Solvent‐based calculations (in water) for HPT and derivatives were also carried out. The linear poly(ε–caprolacton)‐b‐hyperbrached poly(2‐((α‐bromobutyryl)oxy)ethyl acrylate) (LPCL‐b‐HPBBEA) has been successfully synthesized by simultaneous ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) of CL and self‐condensing vinyl polymerization (SCVP) of BBEA in one‐pot. The HPBBEA homopolymers were found to be formed in the polymerization because of the competitive reactions induced by initiation with bifunctional initiator, 2‐hydroxylethyl‐2′‐bromoisobutyrate (HEBiB), and inimer BBEA. The separation of LPCL‐b‐HPBBEA from the polymerization products was achieved by precipitation in methanol. With feed ratio increase of CL and BBEA to HEBiB, the molecular weights of PCL and HPBBEA blocks in the block copolymer enhanced; and the polymerization rate of CL started to decrease gradually after 12 h of polymerization, but the polymerization rate of BBEA was maintained until 24 h of polymerization. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
