We study geometric quantum phases in the relativistic and non-relativistic quantum dynamics of a neutral particle with a permanent magnetic dipole moment interacting with two distinct field configurations in a cosmic string spacetime. We consider the local reference frames of the observers are transported via Fermi–Walker transport and study the influence of the non-inertial effects on the phase shift of the wave function of the neutral particle due to the choice of this local frame. We show that the wave function of the neutral particle acquires non-dispersive relativistic and non-relativistic quantum geometric phases due to the topology of the spacetime, the interaction between the magnetic dipole moment with external fields and the spin–rotation coupling. However, due to the Fermi–Walker reference frame, no phase shift associated to the Sagnac effect appears in the quantum dynamics of a neutral particle. We show that in the absence of topological defect, the contribution to the quantum phase due to the spin–rotation coupling is equivalent to the Mashhoon effect in non-relativistic dynamics.  相似文献

The relativistic quantum dynamics of a spinorial quantum particle in the presence of a chiral conical background is investigated. We study the gravitational Berry geometric quantum phase acquired by a spin 1/2 particle in the chiral cosmic string spacetime. We obtain the result that this phase depends on the global features of this spacetime. We also consider the case that a string possesses an internal magnetic flux and obtain the geometric quantum phase in this case. The spacetime of multiple chiral cosmic strings is considered and the relativistic Berry quantum phase is also obtained.  相似文献

The Wigner's pseudo-particle formalism has been generalized to describe quantum dynamics of relativistic particle in external potential field. As a simplest application of the developed formalism the time evolution of the 1D relativistic quantum harmonic oscillator been considered. Due to the complex structure of the evolution equation for Wigner function, the only numerical treatment is possible by combining Monte Carlo and molecular dynamics methods. Relativistic dynamics results in appearance of the new physical effects as opposed to non-relativistic case. Interesting is the complete changing of the shape of the momentum and coordinate distribution functions as well as formation of ‘unexpected’ protuberances. To analyze the influence of relativistic effects on average values of quantum operators, the dependencies on time of average momentum, position, their dispersions and energy have been compared for the non-relativistic and relativistic dynamics.  相似文献

We show that the special relativistic dynamics when combined with quantum mechanics and the concept of superstatistics can be interpreted as arising from two interlocked non-relativistic stochastic processes that operate at different energy scales. This interpretation leads to Feynman amplitudes that are in the Euclidean regime identical to transition probability of a Brownian particle propagating through a granular space. Some kind of spacetime granularity could be therefore held responsible for the emergence at larger scales of various symmetries. For illustration we consider also the dynamics and the propagator of a spinless relativistic particle. Implications for doubly special relativity, quantum field theory, quantum gravity and cosmology are discussed.  相似文献

Single particle kinetic theory is the study of the dynamics of a single particle moving through a medium. The only mechanism for change in this theory is through two-body collisions between the single particle and the particles of the medium given by the collision term of Boltzmann's equation in kinetic theory. This article contains a summery of relativistic dynamics and a method of projecting the relativistic dynamical system into phase space. This enables us to express relativistic kinetic theory in terms of phase space variables and also to apply the techniques of approximation in the non-relativistic theory to the relativistic domain.  相似文献

A phase space treatment of special relativity of quantum systems is developed. In this approach a quantum particle remains localized if subject to inertial transformations, the localization occurring in a finite phase space area. Unlike in the non-relativistic case, relativistic transformations generally distort the phase space distribution function, being equivalent to aberrations in optics. The relativistic aberrations of massive particles are in general different from those of optical images.  相似文献

From the modified Maxwell theory coupled to gravity, we establish a possible scenario of the violation of the Lorentz symmetry and write an effective metric for the cosmic string spacetime. Then, we investigate the arising of an analogue of the Anandan quantum phase for a relativistic Dirac neutral particle with a permanent magnetic dipole moment in the cosmic string spacetime under Lorentz symmetry breaking effects. Besides, we analyse the influence of the effects of the Lorentz symmetry violation and the topology of the defect on the Aharonov–Casher geometric quantum phase in the nonrelativistic limit.  相似文献

We review the relation between spacetime geometries with trace-torsion fields, the so-called Riemann–Cartan–Weyl (RCW) geometries, and their associated Brownian motions. In this setting, the drift vector field is the metric conjugate of the trace-torsion one-form, and the laplacian defined by the RCW connection is the differential generator of the Brownian motions. We extend this to the state-space of non-relativistic quantum mechanics and discuss the relation between a non-canonical quantum RCW geometry in state-space associated with the gradient of the quantum-mechanical expectation value of a self-adjoint operator given by the generalized laplacian operator defined by a RCW geometry. We discuss the reduction of the wave function in terms of a RCW quantum geometry in state-space. We characterize the Schroedinger equation in terms of the RCW geometries and Brownian motions. Thus, in this work, the Schroedinger field is a torsion generating field, both for the linear and non-linear cases. We discuss the problem of the many times variables and the relation with dissipative processes, and the role of time as an active field, following Kozyrev and a recent experiment in non-relativistic quantum systems. We associate the Hodge dual of the drift vector field with a possible angular-momentum source for the phenomenae observed by Kozyrev.  相似文献

We construct a superfield formulation for non-relativistic Chern–Simons-matter theories with manifest dynamical supersymmetry. By eliminating all the auxiliary fields, we show that the simple action reduces to the one obtained by taking non-relativistic limit from the relativistic Chern–Simons-matter theory proposed in the literature. As a further application, we give a manifestly supersymmetric derivation of the non-relativistic ABJM theory.   相似文献

The arising of geometric quantum phases in the wave function of a moving particle possessing a magnetic quadrupole moment is investigated. It is shown that an Aharonov–Anandan quantum phase (Aharonov and Anandan, 1987) can be obtained in the quantum dynamics of a moving particle with a magnetic quadrupole moment. In particular, it is obtained as an analogue of the scalar Aharonov–Bohm effect for a neutral particle (Anandan, 1989). Besides, by confining the quantum particle to a hard-wall confining potential, the dependence of the energy levels on the geometric quantum phase is discussed and, as a consequence, persistent currents can arise from this dependence. Finally, an analogue of the Landau quantization is discussed.  相似文献

We investigate the analog of Landau quantization, for a neutral polarized particle in the presence of homogeneous electric and magnetic external fields, in the context of non-commutative quantum mechanics. This particle, possessing electric and magnetic dipole moments, interacts with the fields via the Aharonov–Casher and He–McKellar–Wilkens effects. For this model we obtain the Landau energy spectrum and the radial eigenfunctions of the non-commutative space coordinates and non-commutative phase space coordinates. Also we show that the case of non-commutative phase space can be treated as a special case of the usual non-commutative space coordinates.  相似文献

对几何相位的伽利略变换性质结果表明:通常实验中所测量体系的几何相位的确是伽利略不变的.但一般量子体系的几何相位不具有伽利略不变性.还仔细考察了几何相位在伽利略boost作用下变化的物理起源.文章最后通过对假想实验的分析,进一步证明几何相位对参考系的依赖并不意味着相应物理可观测量的非伽利略协变性.  相似文献

Estimation of shift parameters such as arrival time, phase, angle of rotation, position of a non-relativistic or relativistic particle is considered. An approach from the point of view of quantum estimation theory enables to give a proper definition of the time observable and the position observables of a massless relativistic particle, i.e. observables to which there do not correspond self-adjoint operators. Some new inequalities for estimates of shift parameters are obtained; in particular a rigorous uncertainty relation for coordinates of the photon is established.  相似文献

Several years ago, in quantum mechanics, Davies proposed a method to calculate particle’s traveling time with the phase difference of wave function. The method is convenient for calculating the sojourn time inside a potential step and the tunneling time through a potential hill. We extend Davies’ non-relativistic calculation to relativistic quantum mechanics, with and without particle-antiparticle creation, using Klein–Gordon equation and Dirac Equation, for different forms of energy-momentum relation. The extension is successful only when the particle and antiparticle creation/annihilation effect is negligible.  相似文献

Using a minimal-coupling-scheme we investigate the quantum Brownian motion of a particle in an anisotropic-dissipative-medium under the influence of an arbitrary potential in both relativistic and non-relativistic regimes. A general quantum Langevin equation is derived and explicit expressions for quantum-noise and dynamical variables of the system are obtained. The equations of motion for the canonical variables are solved explicitly and an expression for the radiation-reaction of a charged particle in the presence of a dissipative-medium is obtained. Some examples are given to elucidate the applicability of this approach.  相似文献

We study the noncommutative nonrelativistic quantum dynamics of a neutral particle, which possesses an electric multipole moment, in the presence of an external magnetic field. First, by introducing a shift for the magnetic field we give the Schrödinger equations in the presence of an external magnetic field both on a noncommutative space and a noncommutative phase space, respectively. Then by solving the Schrödinger equations, we obtain quantum phases of the electric multipole moment both on a noncommutative space and a noncommutative phase space. We demonstrate that these phase are geometric and dispersive.  相似文献

We study the noncoInmutative nonrelativistic quantum dynamics of a neutral particle, which possesses an electric qaudrupole moment, in the presence of an external magnetic field. First, by intro ducing a shift for the magnetic field, we give the Schrodinger equations in the presence of an external magnetic field both on a noncommutative space and a noncomlnutative phase space, respectively. Then by solving the SchrSdinger equations both on a noneommutative space and a noncommutative phase space, we obtain quantum phases of the electric quadrupole moment, respectively. Wc demonstrate that these phases are geometric and dispersive.  相似文献

We derive the relativistic Vlasov equation from quantum Hartree dynamics for fermions with relativistic dispersion in the mean-field scaling, which is naturally linked with an effective semiclassic limit. Similar results in the non-relativistic setting have been recently obtained in Benedikter et al. (Arch Rat Mech Anal 221(1): 273–334, 2016). The new challenge that we have to face here, in the relativistic setting, consists in controlling the difference between the quantum kinetic energy and the relativistic transport term appearing in the Vlasov equation.  相似文献

We investigate quantum effects on a nonrelativistic neutral particle with a permanent magnetic dipole moment that interacts with an electric field. This neutral particle is also under the influence of a background that breaks the Lorentz symmetry. We focus on the Lorentz symmetry violation background determined by a space-like vector field. Then, we show that the effects of the violation of Lorentz symmetry can yield an attractive Coulomb-type potential. Furthermore, we obtain the bound state solutions to the Schrödinger-Pauli equation and show that the spectrum of energy is a function of the Aharonov-Casher geometric quantum phase. Finally, we discuss the arising of persistent spin currents.  相似文献
