For an arbitrary evolution family, we consider the notion of an exponential dichotomy with respect to a family of norms and characterize it completely in terms of the admissibility of bounded solutions, that is, the existence of a unique bounded solution for each bounded perturbation. In particular, by considering a family of Lyapunov norms, we recover the notion of a nonuniform exponential dichotomy. As a nontrivial application of the characterization, we establish the robustness of the notion of an exponential dichotomy with respect to a family of norms under sufficiently small Lipschitz and C 1 parameterized perturbations. Moreover, we establish the optimal regularity of the dependence on the parameter of the projections onto the stable spaces of the perturbation.  相似文献

For the nonautonomous dynamics defined by a sequence of bounded linear operators acting on an arbitrary Hilbert space, we obtain a characterization of the notion of a nonuniform exponential dichotomy in terms of quadratic Lyapunov sequences. We emphasize that, in sharp contrast with previous results, we consider the general case of possibly noninvertible linear operators, thus requiring only the invertibility along the unstable direction. As an application, we give a simple proof of the robustness of a nonuniform exponential dichotomy under sufficiently small linear perturbations.  相似文献

It is shown that the dichotomy obtained by Lazer for diagonally dominant linear systems is a weaker condition than that of exponential dichotomy but that the two conditions are equivalent in the case of bounded coefficients. Thus Fink's result that exponential decay of all solutions implies exponential dichotomy does not extend to the case of mixed growth and decay. It is also shown that column dominant systems of mixed sign admit exponential dichotomies when the coefficients are bounded.  相似文献

We give conditions for the robustness of nonuniform exponential dichotomies in Banach spaces, in the sense that the existence of an exponential dichotomy for a given linear equation x=A(t)x persists under a sufficiently small linear perturbation. We also establish the continuous dependence with the perturbation of the constants in the notion of dichotomy and of the “angles” between the stable and unstable subspaces. Our proofs exhibit (implicitly) the exponential dichotomies of the perturbed equations in terms of fixed points of appropriate contractions. We emphasize that we do not need the notion of admissibility (of bounded nonlinear perturbations). We also obtain related robustness results in the case of nonuniform exponential contractions. In addition, we establish an appropriate version of robustness for nonautonomous dynamical systems with discrete time.  相似文献

This paper considers three dichotomy concepts (exponential dichotomy, uniform exponential dichotomy and strong exponential dichotomy) in the general context of non-invertible evolution operators in Banach spaces. Connections between these concepts are illustrated. Using the notion of Green function, we give necessary conditions and sufficient ones for strong exponential dichotomy. Some illustrative examples are presented to prove that the converse of some implication type theorems are not valid.  相似文献

For delay difference equations with infinite delay we consider the notion of nonuniform exponential dichotomy. This includes the notion of uniform exponential dichotomy as a very special case. Our main aim is to establish a stable manifold theorem under sufficiently small nonlinear perturbations. We also establish the robustness of nonuniform exponential dichotomies under sufficiently small linear perturbations. Finally, we characterize the nonuniform exponential dichotomies in terms of strict Lyapunov sequences. In this paper, on the condition of nonuniformly bounded growth, we give the relationship between the nonuniform exponential dichotomy spectrum and the other two classical spectrums (the Lyapunov spectrum and Sacker-Sell spectrum), present their stability under small linear perturbations. The main goal of this paper is to discuss the theory for the computation of these spectrums on the condition of nonuniformly bounded growth, and this extends the work of Dieci and Vleck [22], which computes the Lyapunov spectrum and Sacker-Sell spectrum under the condition of bounded. Finally, the numerical examples are given to illustrate and verify the theoretical results.  相似文献

We consider the notion of an exponential dichotomy in mean, in which the exponential behavior in the classical notion of an exponential dichotomy is replaced by the much weaker requirement that the same happens in mean with respect to some probability measure. This includes as a special case any linear cocycle over a measure-preserving flow with nonzero Lyapunov exponents almost everywhere, such as the geodesic flow on a compact manifold of negative curvature. We establish the robustness of linear cocycles in Banach spaces admitting a nonuniform exponential dichotomy. We first obtain robustness results for positive and negative time, by establishing exponential behavior along certain subspaces, and showing that the associated sequences of projections have bounded exponential growth. We then establish a robustness result in Z by constructing explicitly appropriate projections on the stable and unstable subspaces. We emphasize that in general these projections may be different from those obtained separately from the robustness for positive and negative time. In this paper we introduce a concept of exponential dichotomy for linear skew-product semiflows (LSPS) in infinite dimensional Banach spaces, which is an extension of the classical concept of exponential dichotomy for time dependent linear differential equations in Banach spaces. We prove that the concept of exponential dichotomy used by Sacker-Sell and Magalhães in recent years is stronger than this one, but they are equivalent under suitable conditions. Using this concept we where able to find a formula for all the bounded negative continuations. After that, we characterize the stable and unstable subbundles in terms of the boundedness of the corresponding projector along (forward/backward) the LSPS and in terms of the exponential decay of the semiflow. The linear theory presented here provides a foundation for studying the nonlinear theory. Also, this concept can be used to study the existence of exponential dichotomy and the roughness property for LSPS.
