We establish extensions of the Crofton formula and, under some restrictions, of the principal kinematic formula of integral geometry from curvature measures to generalized curvature measures of convex bodies. Let be the pair of multiplicities of an isoparametric hypersurface in the unit sphere with four distinct principal curvatures -w.r.g., we assume that . In the present paper we prove that, in the case 4B2 of U. Abresch (Math. Ann. 264 (1983), 283-302) (i.e., where ), must be either 2 or 4. As a by-product, we prove that the focal manifold of an isoparametric hypersurface is homeomorphic to a bundle over if one of the following conditions holds: (1) and or ; (2) and . This generalizes partial results of Wang (1988) about the topology of Clifford type examples. Consequently, the hypersurface is homeomorphic to an iterated sphere bundle under the above condition.

A new characterization of geodesic spheres in the simply connected space forms in terms of higher order mean curvatures is given: An immersion of an dimensional compact oriented manifold without boundary into dimensional Euclidean space, hyperbolic space or the open half sphere is a totally umbilic immersion if, for some the -th mean curvature does not vanish and the ratio is constant.

In this paper we study complete orientable surfaces with a constant principal curvature R in the 3‐dimensional hyperbolic space H 3. We prove that if R2 > 1, such a surface is totally umbilical or umbilically free and it can be described in terms of a complete regular curve in H 3. In this paper, we derive evolution equation of the integral of the Gauss curvature on an evolving hypersurface. As an application, we obtain a monotone quantity on the level surface of the potential function on a 3-dimensional steady gradient Ricci soliton with positive sectional curvature, and prove that such a soliton is rotationally symmetric outside of a compact set under a curvature decaying assumption. Along the way we will also apply our evolution equation to some other cases.  相似文献
