Fermilab data for the angular distribution measurements of the reaction p 0n are investigated and it is shown that a good fit with experiment is obtained by using a simple Regge pole model with phenomenological residue functions. The production of 0 system in p charge-exchange interactions at momenta 38 GeV/c and 100 GeV/c has been studied. The 2 and 0 0 decay modes of leading to 4 and 8 final states respectively have been detected. No statistically significant peak is observed in the 0 mass spectrum in the range of 1.2 GeV÷2.1 GeV. An upper limit of 6·10–3 has been established for thea 2 0 (1320) 0 branching ratio.  相似文献

We discuss the near–threshold behavior of the ω production amplitude in the reaction π p→ωn. In contrast to the results of earlier analyses we find that the averaged squared matrix element of the production amplitude must be a decreasing function of energy in order to describe the existing experimental data. Results from a high statistics study of the reaction Kp→Kπ+n are presented. These results are based on data obtained with an 11 GeV/c beam using the LASS spectrometer at SLAC. The mass dependence of the spherical harmonic moments provides clear evidence for the production of the complete leading orbitally excited K1 series up through JP = 5. These moments are used to perform an energy independent partial wave analysis of the Kπ+ system from threshold to 2.6 GeV/c2 using a t-dependent parametrization of the production amplitudes. The amplitudes corroborate the leading K1(892), K21(1430), K31(1780), K41(2060), and K51(2380) resonances observed directly in the moments, and also provide new evidence for underlying states. The 0+ amplitude contains the K01(1350) and a second 0+K1(1950) at higher mass. The 1K1(1790) seen earlier two and three-body analyses is confirmed, and evidence is provided for suppressed Kπ+ decay mode of a second 1 state, the K1(1410), which has been seen in earlier three-body analyses.  相似文献

Experimental data on 0 meson polarization in p reaction at 5 GeV/c are presented. Change in 0 meson polarization for mesons produced at smallP 2 and atP 2 0·3 or produced in backward direction in CMS is demonstrated. Natural explanation of these phenomena is one pion exchange mechanism and mechanism of quark-antiquark annihilation as observed for 0 meson production in¯pp reactions.The authors are indebted to Ján Piút, Richard Lednický, V. Results are presented onK + p elastic scattering and on the reactionK + pK + pπ+π? at 70 GeV/c. For the elastic channel, we measured the total ((2.29±0.04)mb) and differentialdσ/dt cross sections. The reactionK + pK + pπ+π? has a total cross section of (470±23) μb and is shown to be dominated by diffractive dissociation processes. The contributions of the quasi-two-body channels $$K^ + p \to K*^0 (890)\Delta ^{ + + } (1,236)$$ and $$K^ + p \to K*^0 (1,430)\Delta ^{ + + } (1,236)$$ and of the Double-Pomeron Exchange (DPE) processes are estimated.  相似文献

The cross section for the process e + e ? → π+π?π0π0 has been measured in an experiment with a spherical neutral detector, with the cross section at energies √s < 920 MeV having been measured for the first time. The model of vector dominance describes well the data obtained if the ρ, ρ′, and ρ″ resonances are taken into account. The probability of the decay ρ → π+π?π0π0 is B(ρ → π+π?π0π0) = (1.60 ± 0.74 ± 0.18) × 10?5. The upper limit for the decay ω → π+π?π0π0 has been improved by two orders of magnitude compared to previous measurements and is B(ω → π+π?π0π0) < 2 × 10?4 at a 90% confidence level.  相似文献

The light front analysis of π mesons in He(Li,C), C-Ne, C-Cu and O-Pb collisions is carried out. The phase space of secondary pions is divided into two parts in one of which the thermal equilibrium assumption seems to be in a good agreement with the data. Corresponding temperatures T are extracted and their dependence on (A P·A T)1/2 is studied. The results are compared with the predictions of the Quark-Gluon String Model (QGSM). The QGSM satisfactorily reproduces the experimental data for light and intermediate-mass nuclei. Received: 29 September 1999  相似文献

A triple Regge analysis is performedof inclusive production in the proton fragmentation region ofK ++X and ++X at 250 GeV/c. Slope and intercept of the leading strange meson trajectory are determined. The elastic and inelastic \(\bar p\) p cross sections at 70 GeV/c have been determined in an experiment performed at CERN using BEBC equipped with a TST. The topological cross sections were measured and the moments of the inelastic multiplicity distribution are 〈n c 〉=6.16±0.09, 〈n c 〉/D=2.04±0.05 andf 2 cc =2.97±0.03. The average number of Dalitz pairs per inelastic event is (3.12±0.09)×10?2. Assuming that these all arise from π0 decay the average π0 multiplicity is \(\langle n_{\pi ^0 } \rangle = 2.71 \pm 0.14\) . The \(\bar p\) p?pp cross section differences lead to an annihilation cross section σ A = 4.42±0.41 mb and the moments of the annihilation multiplicty distribution are 〈n A 〉=8.0±0.3, 〈n A 〉/D=2.5±0.2 andf 2 A?? =?1.4±0.3. An independent check of σ A was made by investigating fast forward charged and neutral secondary interactions in the TST and in the surrounding neon-hydrogen mixture, and gives a value σ A = 5.0±1.6 mb. The ratio of fast \(\bar n\) to \(\bar p\) production in non-annihilation interactions at 70 GeV/c is found to be 0.45±0.11.  相似文献

The single-spin asymmetry A N in the reaction π ? + d π 0 + X in the beam-fragmentation region at the energy of 40 GeV was investigated by using the PROZA setup installed at the U-70 accelerator of the Institute for High Energy Physics (IHEP, Protvino). It was measured to be A N = (13.6 ± 2.6(stat.) ± 2.0(syst.))% in the intervals 0.7 < x F < 1.0 and 1.0 < p T < 1.8 GeV/c. The results agree with the asymmetry of π 0 mesons in the charge-exchange reaction π ? + p π 0 + n at the same values of the transverse momentum and beam energy. The asymmetry in the reaction K ? + d π 0 + X was simultaneously measured and found to be A N = (11 ± 14)% for p T > 1.2 GeV/c.  相似文献
