A new synthesized modified mesoporous silica (MCM-41) using 5-nitro-2-furaldehyde (fural) was applied as an effective sorbent for the solid phase extraction of uranium(VI) and thorium(IV) ions from aqueous solution for the measurement by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP OES). The influences of some analytical parameters on the quantitative recoveries of the analyte ions were investigated in batch method. Under optimal conditions, the analyte ions were sorbed by the sorbent at pH 5.5 and then eluted with 1.0 mL of 1.0 mol L−1 HNO3. The preconcentration factor was 100 for a 100 mL sample volume. The limits of detection (LOD) obtained for uranium(VI) and thorium(IV) were 0.3 μg L−1. The maximum sorption capacity of the modified MCM-41 was found to be 47 and 49 mg g−1 for uranium(VI) and thorium(IV), respectively. The sorbent exhibited good stability, reusability, high adsorption capacity and fast rate of equilibrium for sorption/desorption of uranium and thorium ions. The applicability of the synthesized sorbent was examined using CRM and real water samples.  相似文献

A natural biosorbent containing amine functional groups, chitosan, and a novel sorbent, chitosan-immobilized sodium silicate, were prepared and utilized for the selective sorption of As(V) from waters prior to its determination by atomic spectrometric techniques, namely, hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry (HGAAS) and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Chitosan was synthesized from chitin and sodium silicate was used as the immobilization matrix due to its straightforward synthesis. Through sequential sorption studies, it was shown that chitosan-immobilized sodium silicate has exhibited a better chemical stability than the chitosan itself which demonstrates the advantage of immobilization method. Both chitosan and chitosan-immobilized sodium silicate were shown to selectively adsorb As(V), arsenate, from waters at pH 3.0 at which neither chitin nor sodium silicate displayed any sorption towards As(V). The sorption of arsenate by chitosan is supposed to have electrostatic nature since pH of 3.0 is both the point at which the amino groups in chitosan are protonated and also the predominant form of As(V) is H2AsO4. A pre-oxidation step is required if both As(III) and As(V) are to be determined. Desorption from the sorbents was realized with 1.0% (w/v) l-cysteine prepared in a pH 3.0 solution adjusted with HCl. Among the possible interfering species tested, only Te(IV) and Sb(III) were shown to cause a decrease in the sorption capacity especially at high interferant concentrations. High concentrations of Sb(III) also resulted in gas phase interference during hydride generation. The validity of the method was checked both via spike recovery experiments and also through the analysis of a standard reference material. Spike recovery tests were carried out with four different types of water; namely, ultra-pure, bottled drinking, tap, and sea water; and percent recovery values were found to be 114 (±4), 112 (±2), 43 (±4), and 0 (±1), respectively. It was concluded that the proposed methodology can be applied efficiently to low-to-medium ionic strength solutions, such as most drinking waters. The accuracy of the method was additionally investigated through the analysis of a standard reference material and a good correlation was found between the determined (26.6 ± 2.4 μg L−1) and the certified (26.67 μg L−1) value.  相似文献

High surface area silica pellets are excellent supports for the preparation of silica supported reagents and solid-phase basal linkers through reaction with (RO)3Si(CH2)3FG (FG=NH2, NHMe, Cl, NHC(O)NH2, OC(O)CMe(CH2), NCO, NEt2). High loadings (0.66-2.15 mmol g−1) of grafted silane materials are realised at synthetically useful loadings per pellet (ca. 0.06 mmol). Preliminary trials show that trial linker chemistry and ligand synthesis can be carried out on these materials and that these reactions can be monitored by solid state 13C NMR studies on individual pellets.  相似文献

Chemically modified silica containing amidoamidoxime group was studied as a sorbent for solid-phase extraction (SPE) and preconcentration of Cu(II) prior to determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). The sorbent showed an extremely high selectivity towards Cu(II) in the pH range of 4-6, while the extraction of Pb(II), Cd(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) was low. The adsorption isotherm followed the Langmuir model and the maximum sorption capacity of 0.0163 mmol Cu(II) g−1 was achieved. In the flow system, Cu(II) was completely retained on a column containing 40 mg of the modified silica at the flow rate of 4.0 mL min−1 and quantitatively eluted by 5 mL of 1% (v/v) HNO3. No interference from Na+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Cl and SO42− at 10, 100 and 1000 mg L−1 was observed. When applied for preconcentration and determination of Cu(II) in tap water, pond water, and seawater, the recoveries were 96, 101, and 95%, respectively, with high precision (% relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) < 4) and low method detection limit (9 μg L−1).  相似文献

Titanium dioxide nanoparticles (nano-TiO2) were employed for the sorption of Te(IV) ions from aqueous solution. A detailed study of the process was performed by varying the sorption time, pH, and temperature. The sorption was found to be fast, equilibrium was reached within 8 min. When the concentration of Te(IV) was below 40 mg L−1, at least 97% of tellurium was adsorbed by nano-TiO2 in the pH range of 1-2 and 8-9. The sorbed Te(IV) ions were desorbed with 2.0 mL of 0.5 mol L−1 NaOH. The sorption data could be well interpreted by the Langmuir model with the maximum adsorption capacity of 32.75 mg g−1 (20 ± 0.1 °C) of Te(IV) on nano-TiO2. The kinetics and thermodynamics of the sorption of Te(IV) onto nano-TiO2 were also studied. The kinetic experimental data properly correlated with the second-order kinetic model (k2 = 0.0368 g mg−1 min−1, 293 K). The overall rate process appeared to be influenced by both boundary layer diffusion and intra-particle diffusion. The mean energy of adsorption was calculated to be 17.41 kJ mol−1 from the Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) adsorption isotherm at room temperature. Moreover, the thermodynamic parameters for the sorption were estimated, and the ΔH0 and ΔG0 values indicated the exothermic and spontaneous nature of the sorption process, respectively. Finally, Nano-TiO2 as sorbent was successfully applied to the separation of Te(IV) from the environmental samples with satisfactory results (recoveries >95%, relative standard deviations was 2.0%).  相似文献

A new functionalized mesoporous silica (MCM-41) using salicylaldehyde was utilized for the separation, preconcentration and determination of uranium in natural water by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES).Experimental conditions for effective adsorption of trace levels of U(VI) were optimized. The preconcentration factor was 100 (1.0 mL of elution for a 100 mL sample volume). The analytical curve was linear in the range 2-1000 μg L−1 and the detection limit was 0.5 ng mL−1. The relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) under optimum conditions was 2.5% (n = 10). Common coexisting ions did not interfere with the separation and determination of uranium at pH 5. The sorbent exhibited excellent stability and its sorption capacity under optimum conditions has been found to be 10 mg of uranium per gram of sorbent. The method was applied for the recovery and determination of uranium in different water samples.  相似文献

A modified SBA-15 mesoporous silica material NH2-SBA-15 was synthesized successfully by grafting γ-aminopropyl-triethoxysilane. The material was characterized using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Fourier transform infrared/Raman (FT-IR/Raman) spectroscopy, and used for the first time in a flow injection on-line solid phase extraction (SPE) coupled with flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) to detect trace Cr (VI). Effective sorption of Cr (VI) was achieved at pH 2.0 with no interference from Cr (III) and other ions and 0.5 mol L−1 NH3·H2O solution was found optimal for the complete elution of Cr (VI). An enrichment factor of 44 and was achieved under optimized experimental conditions at a sample loading of 2.0 mL min−1 sample loading (300 s) and an elution flow rate of 2.0 mL min−1 (24 s). The precision of the 11 replicate Cr (VI) measurements was 2.1% at the 100 μg L−1 level with a detection limit of 0.2 μg L−1 (3 s, n = 10) using the FAAS. The developed method was successfully applied to trace chromium determination in waste water. The accuracy was validated using a certified reference material of riverine water (GBW08607).  相似文献

From the experimental density and sound velocity data, the apparent specific volume, excess specific volume, isentropic compressibility and isentropic compressibility deviation values have been determined and the effect of temperature, charge on the anion of electrolytes and molar mass of PEGDME on the volumetric and compressibility properties of the investigated polymer solutions as well as on the salting-out effect of PEGDMEs produced by ammonium phosphate salts has been studied.  相似文献

The adsorption of DPKSH onto silica gel was investigated, at 25±1 °C and pH 1, 4.7 and 12. For the same DPKSH concentration interval, the minimum required time of contact for adsorption maximum at pH 4.7 was smaller than at pH 1 and the maximum amount of DPKSH adsorbed per gram of silica at pH 1 is smaller than at pH 4.7. At pH 12 the DPKSH adsorption onto silica gel was not significant. The adsorption data followed Langmuir, Freundlich and Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) isotherms. The maximum amount of solute adsorbed (madsmax) and the adsorption constant, KL, were derived from Langmuir isotherm. The Freundlich constants 1/n and KF related, respectively, to the energetic heterogeneity of adsorption sites and an empirical constant were evaluated. The mean sorption free energy (E) of DPKSH adsorption onto silica gel was calculated from D-R isotherm indicating a physical adsorption mode. Finally, conductimetric titrations showed the silica particle basicity and acidity as 0.002 and 0.3 mmol g−1, respectively.  相似文献

In this work, a new 2-(2-oxoethyl)hydrazine carbothioamide modified silica gel (SG-OHC) sorbent was prepared and applied for preconcentration of trace mercury(II) prior to the measurement by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). The optimization of some analytical parameters affecting the adsorption of the analyte such as acidity, shaking time, sample flow rate and volume, eluent condition, and interfering substances were investigated. At pH 3, the maximum static adsorption capacity of Hg(II) onto the SG-OHC was 37.5 mg g−1. The quantitative recovery (>95%) of Hg(II) could be obtained using 2 mL of 0.5 mol L−1 HCl and 1% CS(NH2)2 solution as eluent. Common coexisting substances did not interfere with the separation of mercury(II) under optimal conditions. The detection limit of present method was 0.10 ng mL−1, and the relative standard deviation (RSD) was lower than 4.0% (n = 8). The prepared sorbent was successfully applied for the preconcentration of trace Hg(II) in certified and water samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

Three complexes of benzo-15-crown-5 (B15C5) with protonated primary amines [PhCH2NH3(B15C5)](ClO4), [p-C6H4(CH2NH3)2(B15C5)2](ClO4)2, and [(CH2)4(NH3)2(B15C5)2](SCN)2 were isolated and studied in acetonitrile solutions by NMR, and in the solid state by X-ray crystallography. In all complexes, one B15C5 molecule was bound with each R-NH3+ moiety with characteristic small separation of 1.84-1.86 Å between the nitrogen of the R-NH3+ group and the O5 mean plane of the crown residue. No sandwich-type complexes with a 1:2 R-NH3+/B15C5 stoichiometry were observed. Binding affinities of B15C5 in acetonitrile were similar for all ammonium cations studied: K1=550±10 M−1 for [PhCH2NH3]+; K1=1100±100 and K2=400±30 M−1 for [p-C6H4(CH2NH3)2]2+; and K1=1100±100 and K2=300±30 M−1 for [H3N(CH2)4NH3]2+. The complexation is primarily enthalpy-driven (ΔH°=−4.9±0.5 kcal/mol, ΔS°=−3.8±1.0 eu for PhCH2NH3+-B15C5), as determined by variable temperature 1H NMR titrations.  相似文献

A novel sorbent was prepared by the functionalization of an inorganic support material, MCM-41, with N-methylglucamine for the uptake of boron from aqueous solutions prior to its determination by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). Characterization of the newly synthesized material was performed using BET, XRD, TEM, SEM and DRIFTS techniques, in addition to its C and N elemental content. Sorption behavior of the novel sorbent for boron was also investigated and found to obey Freundlich and Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) isotherm models. The maximum amount of B (as H3BO3) that can be sorbed by the sorbent was calculated from the D-R isotherm and was found to be 0.8 mmol B g−1 of sorbent. The applicability of the new sorbent for the removal/preconcentration of boron from aqueous samples was examined by batch method. It was found that the sorbent can take up 85% of boron in 5 min whereas quantitative sorption is obtained in 30 min. Any pH greater than 6 can be used for sorption. Desorption from the sorbent was carried out using 1.0 M HNO3. The sorption efficiency of the new sorbent was also compared to that of Amberlite IRA 743, a commercial resin with N-methylglucamine functional groups. Within the experimental conditions employed, the new sorbent was found to have higher sorption efficiency than the commercial resin. For method validation, spike recovery tests were performed at various concentration levels in different water types and were found to be between 83-95 and 75-92% for ultra pure water and geothermal water, respectively.  相似文献

The sorptive potential of sunflower stem (180-300 μm) for Cr(III) ions has been investigated in detail. The maximum sorption (≥85%) of Cr(III) ions (70.2 μM) has been accomplished using 30 mg of high density sunflower stem in 10 min from 0.001 M nitric and 0.0001 M hydrochloric acid solutions. The accumulation of Cr(III) ions on the sorbent follows Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R), Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms. The isotherm yields D-R saturation capacity Xm = 1.60 ± 0.23 mmol g−1, β = −0.00654 ± 0.00017 kJ2 mol−2, mean free energy E = 8.74 ± 0.12 kJ mol−1, Freundlich sorption capacity KF = 0.24 ± 0.11 mol g−1, 1/n = 0.90 ± 0.04 and of Langmuir constant KL = 6800 ± 600 dm3 mol−1 and Cm = 120 ± 18 μmol g−1. The variation of sorption with temperature (283-323 K) gives ΔH = −23.3 ± 0.8 kJ mol−1, ΔS = −64.0 ± 2.7 J mol−1 K−1 and ΔG298k = −4.04 ± 0.09 kJ mol−1. The negative enthalpy and free energy envisage exothermic and spontaneous nature of sorption, respectively. Bisulphate, Fe(III), molybdate, citrate, Fe(II), Y(III) suppress the sorption significantly. The selectivity studies indicate that Cr(III), Eu(III) and Tb(III) ions can be separated from Tc(VII) and I(I). Sunflower stem can be used for the preconcentration and removal of Cr(III) ions from aqueous medium. This cheaper and novel sorbent has potential applications in analytical and environmental chemistry, in water decontamination, industrial waste treatment and in pollution abatement. A possible mechanism of biosorption of Cr(III) ions onto the sunflower stem has been proposed.  相似文献

The hydrogen peroxide-oxidation of o-phenylenediamine (OPD) catalyzed by horseradish peroxidase (HRP) at 37 °C in 50 mM phosphate buffer (pH 7.0) was studied by calorimetry. The apparent molar reaction enthalpy with respect to OPD and hydrogen peroxide were −447 ± 8 kJ mol−1 and −298 ± 9 kJ mol−1, respectively. Oxidation of OPD by H2O2 catalyzed by HRP (1.25 nM) at pH 7.0 and 37 °C follows a ping-pong mechanism. The maximum rate Vmax (0.91 ± 0.05 μM s−1), Michaelis constant for OPD Km,S (51 ± 3 μM), Michaelis constant for hydrogen peroxide Km,H2O2 (136 ± 8 μM), the catalytic constant kcat (364 ± 18 s−1) and the second-order rate constants k+1 = (2.7 ± 0.3) × 106 M−1 s−1 and k+5 = (7.1 ± 0.8) × 106 M−1 s−1 were obtained by the initial rate method.  相似文献

A new and efficient method was described for an easy synthesis of functionalized mesoporous silica (MCM-41) using thiophene-2-carbaldehyde. This new chemically bonded analytical reagent was used as an effective sorbent for the solid phase extraction of palladium(II) ion from aqueous solutions. Conditions for effective adsorption of trace levels of palladium concentration were optimized with respect to different experimental parameters in batch process. Thiourea solution could efficiently elute adsorbed palladium(II) ion from the surface of the sorbent which then was determined by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometer (ICP-AES).Common coexisting ions did not interfere with the separation and determination. The preconcentration factor was 100 (1 ml elution volume) for a 100 ml sample volume. The limit of detection of the proposed method is 0.2 ng ml−1. The maximum sorption capacity of sorbent under optimum conditions has been found to be 5 mg of palladium per gram of sorbent. The relative standard deviation under optimum conditions was 3.2% (n = 10). Accuracy and application of the method was estimated by using test samples of natural and synthetic water spiked with different amounts of palladium(II) ion.  相似文献

The vaporization of DyI3(s) was investigated in the temperature range between 833 and 1053 K by the use of Knudsen effusion mass spectrometry. The ions DyI2+, DyI3+, Dy2I4+, Dy2I5+, Dy3I7+, and Dy3I8+ were detected in the mass spectrum of the equilibrium vapor. The gaseous species DyI3, (DyI3)2, and (DyI3)3 were identified and their partial pressures determined. Enthalpies and entropies of sublimation resulted according to the second- and third-law methods. The following sublimation enthalpies at 298 K were determined for the gaseous species given in brackets: 274.8±8.2 kJ mol−1 [DyI3], 356.0±11.3 kJ mol−1 [(DyI3)2], and 436.6±14.6 kJ mol−1 [(DyI3)3]. The enthalpy changes of the dissociation reactions (DyI3)2=2 DyI3 and (DyI3)3=3 DyI3 were obtained as ΔdH°(298)=193.3±5.6 and 390.3±13.0 kJ mol−1, respectively.  相似文献

A selective method has been developed for the extraction chromatographic trace level separation of Cu(II) with Versatic 10 (liquid cation exchanger) coated on silanised silica gel (SSG-V10). Cu(II) has been extracted from 0.1 M acetate buffer at the range of pH 4.0–5.5. The effects of foreign ions, pH, flow-rate, stripping agents on extraction and elution have been investigated. Exchange capacity of the prepared exchanger at different temperatures with respect to Cu(II) has been determined. The extraction equilibrium constant (Kex) and different standard thermodynamic parameters have also been calculated by temperature variation method. Positive value of ΔH (7.98 kJ mol−1) and ΔS (0.1916 kJ mol−1) and negative value of ΔG (−49.16 kJ mol−1) indicated that the process was endothermic, entropy gaining and spontaneous. Preconcentration factor was optimized at 74.7 ± 0.2 and the desorption constants Kdesorption1(1.4 × 10−2) and Kdesorption2(9.8 × 10−2) were determined. The effect of pH on Rf values in ion exchange paper chromatography has been investigated. In order to investigate the sorption isotherm, two equilibrium models, the Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms, were analyzed. Cu(II) has been separated from synthetic binary and multi-component mixtures containing various metal ions associated with it in ores and alloy samples. The method effectively permits sequential separation of Cu(II) from synthetic quaternary mixture containing its congeners Bi(III), Sn(II), Hg(II) and Cu(II), Cd(II), Pb(II) of same analytical group. The method was found effective for the selective detection, removal and recovery of Cu(II) from industrial waste and standard alloy samples following its preconcentration on the column. A plausible mechanism for the extraction of Cu(II) has been suggested.  相似文献

The total Kjeldahl nitrogen (TKN) method was simplified by using a manifold connected to a purge-and-trap system immersed into an ultrasonic (US) bath for simultaneous ammonia (NH3) extraction from many previously digested samples. Then, ammonia was collected in an acidic solution, converted to ammonium (NH4+), and finally determined by ion chromatography method. Some variables were optimized, such as ultrasonic irradiation power and frequency, ultrasound-assisted NH3 extraction time, NH4+ mass and sulfuric acid concentration added to the NH3 collector flask. Recovery tests revealed no changes in the pH values and no conversion of NH4+ into other nitrogen species during the irradiation of NH4Cl solutions with 25 or 40 kHz ultrasonic waves for up to 20 min. Sediment and oil free sandstone samples and soil certified reference materials (NCS DC 73319, NCS DC 73321 and NCS DC 73326) with different total nitrogen concentrations were analysed. The proposed method is faster, simpler and more sensitive than the classical Kjeldahl steam distillation method. The time for NH3 extraction by the US-assisted purge-and-trap system (20 min) was half of that by the Kjeldahl steam distillation (40 min) for 10 previously digested samples. The detection limit was 9 μg g−1 N, while for the Kjeldahl classical/indophenol method was 58 μg g−1 N. Precision was always better than 13%. In the proposed method, carcinogenic reagents are not used, contrarily to the indophenol method. Furthermore, the proposed method can be adapted for fixed-NH4+ determination.  相似文献

The potential of near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy in characterization of organically modified clay minerals is introduced. Selected organo-clays, possibly perspective fillers in clay polymer nanocomposites, were prepared from Na-montmorillonite and different surfactants containing octylammonium chain(s), hexadecylammonium chain(s) or a benzene ring with or without a reactive double bond. Based on the stretching (ν) and bending (δ) vibrations observed in the middle IR (MIR) region, the first overtone (2νXH) and combination (ν + δ)XH modes of XH groups (X = O, C, N) are identified. The effect of larger alkylammonium cations on the vibrations of Si-O and OH bonds in montmorillonite layers is observed. The changes in the intensity of the (ν + δ)H2O band near 5250 cm−1 allows for comparison of the amount of water adsorbed on the montmorillonite surface. The water content decreases with the size of the organic cation reflecting increasing hydrophobicity of the montmorillonite surface. The NIR region shows the 2νCH3 and 2νCH2 bands in the 5900-5500 cm−1 region, an upward shift is observed for the complex band due to 2νCH(Ar) of aromatic benzene ring. The NIR spectra are extremely useful in identification of NH2+, NH+ and vinyl groups, which are difficult to recognize in the MIR spectra of organo-clays due to overlapping with other absorption bands. The intense bands corresponding to overtones and combination vibrations of NH3+ and NH2+ groups are found in the 6600-6050 cm−1 and 5000-4600 cm−1 regions, the (ν + δ)NH+ is unambiguously identified near 4750 cm−1. The characteristic band assigned to 2νCH2 in H2CC is detected near 6130 cm−1.  相似文献

The determination of pKa value for the unstable chromium(VI) peroxide, CrO(O2)2(H2O) in aqueous solution is presented. The pKa value is found to be (1.55 ± 0.03). The kinetic decomposition of chromium(VI) peroxide is dependent on the concentration of hydrogen peroxide in the pH range between 2.5 and 4.0. We have proposed the possible explanation for the formation of triperoxo chromium complex of hydrogen peroxide which is dependent on decomposition. Activation of coordinate peroxide in chromium(VI) peroxide observed in the kinetic studies is by reduction of thiolato-cobalt(III) complex. The rate constant (M−1 s−1, 15 °C) for the oxygen atom transfer reaction from CrO(O2)2(OH) to (en)2Co(SCH2CH2NH2)2+ is found to be (25.0 ± 1.3).  相似文献
