Heterocyclic base adducts of salicylaldehyde N(4)- cyclohexylthiosemicarbazone(H2L) copper(II) complexes have been synthesized and characterized. I.r., electronic and e.s.r. spectra of the complexes, as well as i.r., electronic and 1H- and 13C-n.m.r. spectra of the thiosemicarbazone have been obtained. Based on e.s.r. studies, all possible parameters have been calculated. The g values, calculated for all the complexes in frozen solution, indicate the presence of the unpaired electron in the dx2−y2 orbital. The metal–ligand bonding parameters evaluated showed strong in-plane σ- and in-plane π-bonding. The magnetic and spectroscopic data indicate a square-planar geometry for the four-coordinate and a distorted square-pyramidal structure for the five-coordinate complexes. From cyclic voltammetric data quasireversible copper(II)/copper(I) couples are observed for the complexes. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The bidentate ligands, 2-[(N-acetyl)aminopyridine] (AAPH, A) and 2-[(N-benzoyl)aminopyridine] (BAPH, B) have been used to synthesize copper(II) complexes including an exogenous ligand X (X = AcO, HCO2 , N3 and benzimidazole). The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, electronic and vibrational spectroscopy, magnetic and e.s.r. studies. E.s.r. parameters and visible spectra indicated that all the complexes are monomers and exist in distorted octahedral geometry except for benzimidazole. With benzimidazole as an exogenous ligand, a five coordinate complex is formed.  相似文献

Summary Acetone nicotinoyl hydrazone (ANII) complexes of the types M(ANH)Cl2 · nEtOH and M(ANH-H)2 H2O (where M = MnII FeII, CoII, NiII, CuII or ZnII and n = 0,1 or 2) have been prepared and their structures studied by molar conductance, i.r. and electronic spectra, and room temperature magnetic measurements. All the complexes arc nonionic in a 0.001 M solution of formic acid. Magnetic and electronic spectral studies show that all the complexes are spin-free regular or distorted octahedra except Mn(ANH)Cl2 and Co(ANH)CI2 which are tetrahedral. The distorted octahedral geometry of Cu(ANH-H)2 · H2O has also been confirmed from its sold state e.s.r spectrum at 77 K. From i.r. spectral studies, ANH has been found to act as a tridentate ligand in all the complexes except Mn(ANH)Cl2 where it behaves as a bidentate ligand.  相似文献

Summary Copper(II) complexes of general formula [Cu(L4A)X] (where L4A is the deprotonated ligand, 1 H-hexahydroazepine-1-thiocarboxylic acid-2-[1-(2-pyridinyl)ethylidene]hydrazide and X=Cl, Br, I, NCS, NO3 and OAc) and [Cu(HL4A)(L4A)]ClO4 have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility measurements, i.r. spectra, electronic spectra, conductivity measurements and e.s.r. spectra in the polycrystalline state and in chloroform solution. For all complexes, except the perchlorate salt, coordination occurs via imine nitrogen, pyridine nitrogen and thione sulphur. For the perchlorate salt, L4A is tridentate, while HL4A is monodentate via imine nitrogen. Electronic spectra suggest planar geometry for all the complexes. The calculated e.s.r parameters suggest coordination through sulphur in agreement with the i.r. results.  相似文献

Summary Iron(III) complexes of four substituted thiosemicarbazones of 2-acetylpyridine of general. formula [FeL2]ClO4 (where L is a deprotonated ligand) have been synthesised and characterised by elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility measurements in the polycrystalline state at room temperature, i.r. spectra, electronic spectra and e.s.r. spectra recorded in polycrystalline state, in methanol solution at room temperature and at 77 K. All the complexes are 1:1 electrolytes. The ligands coordinate via the pyridine nitrogen, imine nitrogen and thione sulphur. E.s.r. spectra and with magnetic studies suggest a spin-paired configuration for the iron(III) complexes.Author to whom all correspondence should be directed  相似文献

Transition metal complexes of Mn(II) and Ni(II) have been synthesized with novel bioactive Schiff's base ligand. Schiff's base ligand i.e. benzoylacetone‐bis(2‐amino‐4‐methylbenzothioazole) has been synthesized via condensation reaction between 2‐amino‐4‐methylbenzothioazole and benzoylacetone in 2:1 ratio, respectively. Synthesized ligand has been characterized using elemental analysis, infra‐red, 1H–NMR and mass spectroscopy techniques. Characterization of complexes was based on magnetic moment, molar conductance, elemental analysis, electronic spectra, infra‐red and EPR spectroscopic techniques. Molar conductance data suggest that metal complexes are non‐electrolytic in nature. Therefore, these complexes are formulated as [M(L)X2], where M = Mn(II), Ni(II), L = Schiff's base ligand, X = Cl?, CH3COO?, NO3?. Data of characterization study suggest octahedral geometry for Mn(II) and Ni(II) complexes. Geometry of metal complexes was also optimized with the help of computational study i.e. molecular modelling. Computational study also suggests octahedral geometry for complexes. Free ligand as well as its all metal complexes have been screened against the growth of pathogenic bacteria (E.coli, S.aureus) and fungi (C.albicans, C.krusei, C.parapsilosis, C.tropicalis) to assess their inhibition potential. The inhibition data revealed that metal complexes exhibit higher inhibition potential against the growth of bacteria and fungi microorganisms than free ligand.  相似文献

Cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes are synthesized with 1,3,7,9-tetraaza- 4,6,10,12-tetraphenyl-2,8-dithiacyclododecane, a tetradentate ligand (L) and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibitity measurements, mass, i.r., electronic and e.p.r. spectral studies. All the complexes are non-electrolytes so they may be formulated as [M(L)X2] [where, M = Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) and X = Cl and NO 3 ]. All the complexes are of high spin type. On the basis of i.r., electronic and e.p.r. spectral studies an octahedral geometry has been assigned for Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes and tetragonal geometry for Cu(II) complexes. The antimicrobial activities of the ligand and its complexes, as growth inhibiting agents, have been screened in vitro against two different species of bacteria and plant pathogenic fungi.  相似文献

A novel tetradentate nitrogen donor [N4] macrocyclic ligand, i.e. 3,5,13,15,21,22-hexaaza-2,6,12,16-tetramethyl-4,14-dithia-tricyclo[15.3.1.1(7–11)]docosane-1(21),2,5,7,9,11(22),12,15,17,19-decaene, has been synthesized. Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes with this ligand have been prepared and subjected to elemental analyses, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, 1H-n.m.r. (Ligand), i.r., electronic, and e.p.r. spectral studies. On the basis of molar conductance the complexes may be formulated as [M(L)X2] and [Ni(L)]X2 [where M = Mn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II), and X = Cl and NO3] due to their nonelectrolytic nature in dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO). All the complexes are of the high spin type and are six coordinated. On the basis of i.r., electronic and e.p.r. spectral studies an octahedral geometry has been assigned to Mn(II) and Co(II), square planar for Ni(II) complexes, and tetragonal for Cu(II) complexes. The antimicrobial activities of the ligand and its complexes, as growth inhibiting agents, have been screened in vitro against several species of bacteria and plant pathogenic fungi.  相似文献

Summary Binuclear copper(II) complexes with six 5-nitrosalicylaldehyde N(3)-substituted thiosemicarbazones have been prepared and characterized. I.r., electronic and e.s.r. spectra of the complexes, as well as i.r., electronic, and 1H-and 13C-n.m.r. spectra of the thiosemicarbazones, have been obtained. The crystal structure of a monomeric copper(II) complex of 5-nitrosalicylaldehyde piperidyl-thiosemicarbazone, H25NO2Sapip, grown from DMF solution, has been solved. Neither the thiosemicarbazones or their binuclear copper(II) complexes show growth inhibitory activity against Aspergillus niger, but the copper(II) complexes show some activity against the fungus Paecilomyces variotii.  相似文献

The interaction of diglycollic acid ligand with iron(III), cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) salts was investigated potentiometrically and spectrophotometrically. Only 1:1 complexes were formed in solution and solid. The pK's of the ligand and its complexes were computed. The electronic absorption spectra of the complexes depict the octahedral geometry. The infra-red spectra of the ligand and its complexes were discussed.  相似文献

A new series of binary mononuclear complexes were prepared from the reaction of the hydrazone ligand, 2-carboxyphenylhydrazo-benzoylacetone (H2L), with the metal ions, Cd(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Th(IV) and UO2(VI). The binary Cu(II) complex of H2L was reacted with the ligands 1,10-phenanthroline or 2-aminopyridine to form mixed-ligand complexes. The binary complexes of Cu(II) and Ni(II) are suggested to have octahedral configurations. The Cd(II) and Co(II) complexes are suggested to have tetrahedral and/or square-planar geometries, respectively. The Th(IV) and UO2(VI) complexes are suggested to have octahedral and dodecahedral geometries, respectively. The mixed-ligand complexes have octahedral configurations. The structures of all complexes and the corresponding thermal products were elucidated by elemental analyses, conductance, IR and electronic absorption spectra, magnetic moments, 1H NMR and TG-DSC measurements as well as by mass spectroscopy. The ligand and some of the metal complexes were found to activate the enzyme pectinlyase.  相似文献

Summary Copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes with the Schiff base derived from 2-(2-aminophenyl)benzimidazole and salicylaldehyde, L, have been prepared. They are of the general types ML2X2 (M = Ni or Cu and X = Cl, Br, NO3 or ClO4) and NiL(NCS)2.The compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic measurements, e.s.r., electronic and i.r. spectra studies. The i.r. spectra suggest that the molecule, and not the anion, of the Schiff base is coordinated as a bidentate ligand with the metal ion. Possible structures for the complexes have been proposed.  相似文献

Summary A new series of manganese(III), cobalt(II), nickel(II), zinc(II), cadmium(II) and mercury(II) complexes with monomethylsubstituted dithiocarbamates as ligands has been synthesized and studied. Their structures are discussed in relation to their spectroscopic, magnetic and thermal properties. The dithio-ligands exhibit bidentate behaviour acting as S,Sdonors in all the complexes. In the far i.r. region particular attention is paid to a comparison of the spectra of the octahedral complexes with those of the other metal derivatives (12 metal to ligand molar ratio). The e.s.r. spectra are indicative of aD 2h symmetry in the cobalt(II) complexes.  相似文献

New manganese(II) complexes, [Mn(H2L)(H2O)2]Cl2· xH2O, with linear and tripodal tetradentate ligands have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, i.r. spectra, magnetic measurements and electronic and e.s.r. spectra. The data show that the ligands are neutral and coordinate to manganese in a tetradentate manner; the other axial sites are occupied by the water molecules. Magnetic and e.s.r. data show that manganese(II) adopts a high-spin configuration in the complexes. The electrochemical behaviour of the complexes, determined by cyclic voltammetry, shows that the chelate structure, ligand geometry and electron donating effect of the ligand substituents are among the factors influencing the redox potentials of the complexes. In addition, we note that linear ligands stabilize the manganese(III) state to a greater extent than tripodal ligands and their complexes vigorously catalyse the disproportionation of hydrogen peroxide in the presence of added imidazole.  相似文献

Two mixed ligand MnII complexes, namely trans- diazidotetrakis(pyrazole)manganese(II) (1) and trans-diaquadiazidobis(3,4-dimethylpyridine)manganese(II) (2) have been synthesized and characterized by spectroscopic and crystallographic methods. The i.r. and Raman spectra are reported and correlated with the structures of both complexes. The e.s.r. spectra of the solid complexes and their solutions are reported. Both complexes are monomeric, with distorted octahedral coordination and terminal azide. The thermal decomposition of both complexes was investigated derivatographically.  相似文献

Nickel(II), copper(II), zinc(II), and cadmium(II) complexes of 1-phenylglyoxal bis{N(4)-ethylthiosemicarbazone} have been synthesized and characterized spectroscopically. The bis(thiosemicarbazone) and its diamagnetic complexes have been characterized by their melting points, i.r., electronic, mass and 1H n.m.r. spectra. The four-coordinate copper(II) complex was also studied by e.s.r. spectroscopy. Upon coordination, the loss of a proton from each thiosemicarbazone moiety occurs, and the bis(thiosemicarbazone) coordinates to nickel(II) and copper(II) as a dianionic, tetradentate N2S2 ligand; but for zinc(II) and cadmium(II), mass spectral results suggest the formation of binuclear complexes.  相似文献

A novel tetradentate nitrogen donor [N4] macrocyclic ligand, i.e. 1,3,4,8,9,11-hexaaza-2,5,10,12-tetraoxo-7,14-diphenyl-cyclotetradecane (L), has been synthesized. Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes of this ligand have been prepared and subjected to elemental analyses, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, 1H-n.m.r. (Ligand), i.r., electronic, and e.p.r. spectral studies. On the basis of molar conductance the Mn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes may be formulated as [M(L)X2] [where X = Cl & NO 3 ] due to their non-electrolytic nature in dimethylformamide (DMF). Whereas the Ni(II) complexes are 1:2 electrolytes and formulated as [Ni(L)]X2. All the complexes are of the high spin type and are six/four coordinate. 相似文献

Summary Picolinic acid hydrazide (PH) and isonicotinic acid hydrazide (INH) react with acetylacetone to form complexes, containing open chain tetradentate ligands, through anin situ process in the presence of nickel and copper salts. The complexes were isolated and characterised as five-coordinate with the aid of analyses, magnetic, e.s.r., electronic and i.r. spectral studies.Attempts to obtain the free ligand were unsuccessful, but its solid complexes can be isolated. Acetylacetonebispicolinoyl hydrazone Ac(PH)2 coordinates through azomethine and pyridine nitrogen atoms while acetylacetonebisisonicotinoyl hydrazone Ac(INH)2 does so through azomethine nitrogens and amido oxygen atoms, giving rise to complexes of the MAc(PH)2X or MAc(INH)2X type where X=Cl, Br, NO3 or NCS and M=nickel(II) and copper(II). Magnetic, e.s.r. and electronic spectra are consistent with five coordinate geometries incorporating one anion on the axial positions. Various ligand field parameters have been calculated and the amount of distortion assessed in terms of DT/DQ. The metal-ligand vibrations in the far i.r. are discussed.  相似文献

Summary The syntheses of the complexes [Rh2(ap)4X] (ap = the heterocyclic anion of 2-aminopyridine; X = Cl or Br) are described. The complexes have been characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, i.r., e.s.r. and electronic absorption spectra, and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The 2-aminopyridine anion behaves as bridging ligand, coordinatingvia the pyridine and amine nitrogen atoms in a way analogous to that in the dinuclear rhodium(II) carboxylates.  相似文献

The complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, 1H-n.m.r. (Ligand), i.r., electronic, and e.p.r. spectral studies. On the basis of molar conductance the complexes may be formulated as [M(L)X2] [where M = Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II), and X = Cl & NO 3 ] due to their nonelectrolytic nature in dimethylformamide (DMF). All the complexes are of the high spin type and are six coordinated. On the basis of i.r., electronic and e.p.r. spectral studies an octahedral geometry has been deduced for Mn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes, and tetragonal geometry for Cu(II) complexes.
