Two stable products of reactions of water molecules with the Al3O3- cluster, Al3O4H2- and Al3O5H4-, are studied with electronic structure calculations. There are several minima with similar energies for both anions and the corresponding molecules. Dissociative absorption of a water molecule to produce an anionic cluster with hydroxide ions is thermodynamically favored over the formation of Al3O3-(H2O)n complexes. Vertical electron detachment energies of Al3O4H2- and Al3O5H4- calculated with ab initio electron propagator methods provide a quantitative interpretation of recent anion photoelectron spectra. Contrasts and similarities in these spectra may be explained in terms of the Dyson orbitals associated with each transition energy. 相似文献

Methane sulfenic acid (CH3SOH, MSEA) has been suggested in the literature as a possible stable product within the addition channel of the OH-initiated oxidation of dimethyl sulfide. In particular, it has been proposed as one of the thermodynamically feasible products of the reaction of CH3S(OH)CH3 adduct with O2. However, MSEA has never been experimentally observed and a detailed theoretical analysis of all the reaction pathways leading to MSEA formation has never been reported. In this study, the first density functional and ab initio electronic structure calculations are carried out to characterize those reaction channels yielding MSEA. The adduct formed by the reaction of DMS-OH with O2 (CH3S(O2)(OH)CH3) has been taken as the starting point. On the other hand, a new reaction pathway, which competes with the MSEA formation yielding DMSO instead, is also presented. The kinetic relevance of those different reaction pathways is discussed to assert their contribution to the experimental measurements of the end-products of DMS-OH-initiated oxidation. 相似文献

The reflected shock tube technique with multipass absorption spectrometric detection of OH radicals at 308 nm (corresponding to a total path length of approximately 4.9 m) has been used to study the dissociation of methanol between 1591 and 2865 K. Rate constants for two product channels [CH3OH + Kr --> CH3 + OH + Kr (1) and CH3OH + Kr --> 1CH2 + H2O + Kr (2)] were determined. During the course of the study, it was necessary to determine several other rate constants that contributed to the profile fits. These include OH + CH3OH --> products, OH + (CH3)2CO --> CH2COCH3 + H2O, and OH + CH3 --> 1,3CH2 + H2O. The derived expressions, in units of cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1), are k(1) = 9.33 x 10(-9) exp(-30857 K/T) for 1591-2287 K, k(2) = 3.27 x 10(-10) exp(-25946 K/T) for 1734-2287 K, kOH+CH3OH = 2.96 x 10-16T1.4434 exp(-57 K/T) for 210-1710 K, k(OH+(CH3)(2)CO) = (7.3 +/- 0.7) x 10(-12) for 1178-1299 K and k(OH+CH3) = (1.3 +/- 0.2) x 10(-11) for 1000-1200 K. With these values along with other well-established rate constants, a mechanism was used to obtain profile fits that agreed with experiment to within <+/-10%. The values obtained for reactions 1 and 2 are compared with earlier determinations and also with new theoretical calculations that are presented in the preceding article in this issue. The pathways and activation barriers of cooperative biproton migrations in the associates of the formic acid molecule with
H2O and X molecules (X=CH3OH, NH2OH, H2O2, FOH, and H2O) are calculated by an ab initio method (3-21G and 6-31G** basis sets). A cooperative triproton transfer occurs in the system with X=H2O. The activation barriers of this transfer calculated in the 3-21G and 6-31G** basis sets are 6.94 and 27.29 (through the structure of C2 symmetry) or 7.99 and 26.08 kcal/mole (through the structure of Cs symmetry), respectively. In the systems with X=H3COH, HOOH, and FOH, the biproton transfer is accompanied by synchronous shifts of two hydroxyl groups and overcomes high activation
barriers (>40 kcal/mole), which is accounted for by poor stereochemical similarity for the low-barrier cooperative processes
in the given molecular associates.

The ability to use calculated OH frequencies to assign experimentally observed peaks in hydrogen bonded systems hinges on the accuracy of the calculation. Here we test the ability of several commonly employed model chemistries—HF, MP2, and several density functionals paired with the 6‐31+G(d) and 6‐311++G(d,p) basis sets—to calculate the interaction energy (De) and shift in OH stretch fundamental frequency on dimerization (δ(ν)) for the H2O → H2O, CH3OH → H2O, and H2O → CH3OH dimers (where for X → Y, X is the hydrogen bond donor and Y the acceptor). We quantify the error in De and δ(ν) by comparison to experiment and high level calculation and, using a simple model, evaluate how error in De propagates to δ(ν). We find that B3LYP and MPWB1K perform best of the density functional methods studied, that their accuracy in calculating δ(ν) is ≈ 30–50 cm?1 and that correcting for error in De does little to heighten agreement between the calculated and experimental δ(ν). Accuracy of calculated δ(ν) is also shown to vary as a function of hydrogen bond donor: while the PBE and TPSS functionals perform best in the calculation of δ(ν) for the CH3OH → H2O dimer their performance is relatively poor in describing H2O → H2O and H2O → CH3OH. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Cis-dioxo-tungsten(Ⅵ) complex, (NH2CH2CH2NH2)[(NH2CH2CH2NH3)2WⅥO2(NHC6H4NH)2]2·H2O is synthesized at room temperature by the reaction of sodium tungstate with o-phenylenediamine. The crystal structure of complex was determined by X-ray diffraction structural analysis. The results show that complex belongs to monoclinic system with space group P21/ c, a=0.712 8(2) nm, b=3.081 1(10) nm, c=0.981 9(3) nm, β=102.615(4)°, V=2.104 4(11) nm3, Z=2, μ=55.26 cm-1, F(000)=1 176. Compared the complex with its analogous biomimetic complexes of the cofactor of molybdoenzymes and tungstoenzymses, it is found that the variance of the coordination atoms and the metal ions center have no influence on the coordination feature, and exhibits distored octahedral coordination with cis-dioxo o-phenylenediamine. Cis-dioxo-catecholatotungsten(Ⅴ) complex (NH2CH2CH2NH3)4[WⅤO2(OC6H4O)2]2(NH3CH2CH2NH3)·H2O (1) was synthesized at room temperature by the reaction of tetrabutyl ammonium decatungstate with catechol in the mixed solvent of CH3OH, CH3CN and NH2CH2CH2NH2. The crystal structure of complex was determined by X-ray diffraction structural analysis. The results show that complex belongs to monoclinic system with space group P21/c,a=0.712 8(3) nm, b=3.082 3(11) nm, c=0.982 8(4) nm, β=102.639(6)°, V=2.106 8(14) nm3, Z=2, R1=0.062 8, wR2=0.183 7. Compared the complex with its analogous complexes (NH2CH2CH2NH3)3[MoⅤO2(OC6H4O)2], it is found that the coordination structure of W have no changes in the processing of electron transfer of tungsten-containing enzymes from the result of the similarity of the EPR spectra of the complexes and flavoenzyme from milk. Recent computational studies on the addition of ammonia (NH3) to the Al3O3- cluster anion [A. Guevara-Garcia, A. Martinez, and J. V. Ortiz, J. Chem. Phys. 122, 214309 (2005)] have motivated experimental and additional computational studies, reported here. Al3O3- is observed to react with a single NH3 molecule to form the Al3O3NH3- ion in mass spectrometric studies. This is in contrast to similarly performed studies with water, in which the Al3O5H4- product was highly favored. However, the anion PE spectrum of the ammoniated species is very similar to that of Al3O4H2-. The adiabatic electron affinity of Al3O3NH3 is determined to be 2.35(5) eV. Based on comparison between the spectra and calculated electron affinities, it appears that NH3 adds dissociatively to Al3O3-, suggesting that the time for the Al3O3-NH3 complex to either overcome or tunnel through the barrier to proton transfer (which is higher for NH3 than for water) is short relative to the time for collisional cooling in the experiment. 相似文献

In relation to the heterogeneous hydrogenation of nitrite, adsorption of NO2-, NH4+, and NH2OH from the aqueous phase was examined on Pt/Al2O3, Pd/Al2O3, and Al2O3. None of the investigated inorganic nitrogen compounds adsorb on alumina at conditions presented in this study. NO2-(aq) and NH4+(aq) on the other hand show similar adsorption characteristics on both Pd/Al2O3 and Pt/Al2O3. The vibrational spectrum of the NO2- ion changed substantially upon adsorption, clearly indicating that NO2- chemisorbs onto the supported metal catalysts. On the contrary, adsorption of NH4+ does not lead to significant change in the vibrational spectrum of the ion, indicating that the NH4+ ion does not chemisorb on the noble metal but is stabilized via an electrostatic interaction. When comparing the adsorption of hydroxylamine (NH2OH(aq)) on Pd/Al2O3 and Pt/Al2O3, significant differences were observed. On Pd/Al2O3, hydroxylamine is converted into a stable NH2(ads) fragment, whereas on Pt/Al2O3 hydroxylamine is converted into NO, possibly via HNO(ads) as an intermediate. 相似文献

Quantum chemical calculations were carried out to study the reaction of Al atom in the ground electronic state with H(2)O molecule. Examination of the potential energy surface revealed that the Al + H(2)O → AlO + H(2) reaction must be treated as a complex process involving two steps: Al + H(2)O → AlOH + H and AlOH + H → AlO + H(2). Activation barriers for these elementary reaction channels were calculated at B3LYP/6-311+G(3df,2p), CBS-QB3, and G3 levels of theory, and appropriate rate constants were estimated by using a canonical variational theory. Theoretical analysis exhibited that the rate constant for the Al + H(2)O → products reaction measured by McClean et al. must be associated with the Al + H(2)O → AlOH + H reaction path only. The process of direct HAlOH formation was found to be negligible at a pressure smaller than 100 atm. 相似文献

A novel organic/inorganic hybrid molybdenum phosphate, [NH3(CH2CH2)2NH3]3[NH3(CH2CH2)2NH2]Na5-[Mo6O12(OH)3(PO4)(HPO4)3]2·4H2O (1), involving molybdenum presented in V oxidation, has been hydrothermally prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, i.r., u.v.–vis., x.p.s., t.g. and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The structure of the title compound (1) may be considered to consist of two [Mo6O12(OH)3(PO4)(HPO4)3] units bonded together with NaO6 octahedra, forming dimers. Further, these dimers connect with each other through four Na+ cations as bridges, giving rise to novel one-dimensional chain-like skeleton. The possibility of formation of (SiO2)60@H2O, (SiO2)60@CH4, and (SiO2)60@CH3NH2 endohedral complexes was studied by the density functional (DFT) method (B3LYP exchange correlation functional, 6-31G** basis). Direct variable reaction coordinate transition state theory (VRC-TST) rate coefficients are reported for the (3)CH(2) + OH, (3)CH(2) + (3)CH(2), and (3)CH(2) + CH(3) barrierless association reactions. The predicted rate coefficient for the (3)CH(2) + OH reaction (approximately 1.2 x 10(-10) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1) for 300-2500 K) is 4-5 times larger than previous estimates, indicating that this reaction may be an important sink for OH in many combustion systems. The predicted rate coefficients for the (3)CH(2) + CH(3) and (3)CH(2) + (3)CH(2) reactions are found to be in good agreement with the range of available experimental measurements. Product branching in the self-reaction of methylene is discussed, and the C(2)H(2) + 2H and C(2)H(2) + H2 products are predicted in a ratio of 4:1. The effect of the present set of rate coefficients on modeling the secondary kinetics of methanol decomposition is briefly considered. Finally, the present set of rate coefficients, along with previous VRC-TST determinations of the rate coefficients for the self-reactions of CH(3) and OH and for the CH(3) + OH reaction, are used to test the geometric mean rule for the CH(3), (3)CH(2), and OH fragments. The geometric mean rule is found to predict the cross-combination rate coefficients for the (3)CH(2) + OH and (3)CH(2) + CH(3) reactions to better than 20%, with a larger (up to 50%) error for the CH(3) + OH reaction. 相似文献

The reaction kinetics of chlorine atoms with a series of partially fluorinated straight-chain alcohols, CF(3)CH(2)CH(2)OH (1), CF(3)CF(2)CH(2)OH (2), CHF(2)CF(2)CH(2)OH (3), and CF(3)CHFCF(2)CH(2)OH (4), were studied in the gas phase over the temperature range of 273-363 K by using very low-pressure reactor mass spectrometry. The absolute rate coefficients were given by the expressions (in cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1)): k(1) = (4.42 +/- 0.48) x 10(-11) exp(-255 +/- 20/T); k(1)(303) = (1.90 +/- 0.17) x 10(-11), k(2) = (2.23 +/- 0.31) x 10(-11) exp(-1065 +/- 106/ T); k(2)(303) = (6.78 +/- 0.63) x 10(-13), k(3) = (8.51 +/- 0.62) x 10(-12) exp(-681 +/- 72/T); k(3)(303) = (9.00 +/- 0.82) x 10(-13) and k(4) = (6.18 +/- 0.84) x 10(-12) exp(-736 +/- 42/T); k(4)(303) = (5.36 +/- 0.51) x 10(-13). The quoted 2sigma uncertainties include the systematic errors. All title reactions proceed via a hydrogen atom metathesis mechanism leading to HCl. Moreover, the oxidation of the primarily produced radicals was investigated, and the end products were the corresponding aldehydes (R(F)-CHO; R(F) = -CH(2)CF(3), -CF(2)CF(3), -CF(2)CHF(2), and -CF(2)CHFCF(3)), providing a strong experimental indication that the primary reactions proceed mainly via the abstraction of a methylenic hydrogen adjacent to a hydroxyl group. Finally, the bond strengths and ionization potentials for the title compounds were determined by density functional theory calculations, which also suggest that the alpha-methylenic hydrogen is mainly under abstraction by Cl atoms. The correlation of room-temperature rate coefficients with ionization potentials for a set of 27 molecules, comprising fluorinated C2-C5 ethers and C2-C4 alcohols, is good with an average deviation of a factor of 2, and is given by the expression log(k) (in cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1)) = (5.8 +/- 1.4) - (1.56 +/- 0.13) x (ionization potential (in eV)). 相似文献

The chemical reactions of water, methanol, and ammonia with Al5O4- have been studied using electronic structure calculations. The chemistry of Al5O4- with these molecules is different from that of Al3O3-. While Al3O3- dissociatively adsorbs two water molecules (and methanol), Al5O4- reacts with only one. In addition, Al5O4- does not show any reaction with ammonia while recent experimental and theoretical studies suggest that Al3O3- chemisorbs ammonia. These apparent differences in their chemical reactivity have been explained based on the thermodynamic stability of the corresponding reaction products and kinetic barriers associated with their formation. 相似文献
