The luminescence properties of the tetranuclear bimetallic lanthanide complexes Sm2Eu2 ( 1 ) and Eu2Tb2 ( 2 ), were compared with those of the analogous homometallic complexes [Sm43‐OH)2(salen)2(acac)6(CH3OH)2] · CH3OH ( 3 ) and [Eu43‐OH)2(salen)2(acac)6(CH3OH)2] ( 4 ) [H2salen = N, N′‐ethylenebis(salicylideneimine), Hacac = acetylacetonate]. X‐ray crystallographic analysis reveals that complexes 3 and 4 have planar tetranuclear structures. For the Eu2Tb2 configurational isomer, the TbIII ion in complex 2 mainly serves as a sensitizer. The quantum yields and lifetime measurements for 2 support the premise that Ln/Ln energy transfer occurs in such lanthanide bimetallic complexes, along with the usual ligand‐to‐metal triplet energy pathways. Complexes 3 and 4 exhibit the characteristic metal‐centered emission.  相似文献

Phenanthroline‐based hexadentate ligands L1 and L2 bearing two achiral semicarbazone or two chiral imine moieties as well as the respective mononuclear complexes incorporating various lanthanide ions, such as LaIII, EuIII, TbIII, LuIII, and YIII metal ions, were synthesized, and the crystal structures of [ML1Cl3] (M=LaIII, EuIII, TbIII, LuIII, or YIII) complexes were determined. Solvent or water molecules act as coligands for the rare‐earth metals in addition to halide anions. The big LnIII ion exhibits a coordination number (CN) of 10, whereas the corresponding EuIII, TbIII, LuIII, and YIII centers with smaller ionic radii show CN=9. Complexes of L2, namely [ML2Cl3] (M=EuIII, TbIII, LuIII, or YIII) ions could also be prepared. Only the complex of EuIII showed red luminescence, whereas all the others were nonluminescent. The emission properties of the Eu derivative can be applied as a photophysical signal for sensing various anions. The addition of phosphate anions leads to a unique change in the luminescence behavior. As a case study, the quenching behavior of adenosine‐5′‐triphosphate (ATP) was investigated at physiological pH value in an aqueous solvent. A specificity of the sensor for ATP relative to adenosine‐5′‐diphosphate (ADP) and adenosine‐5′‐monophosphate (AMP) was found. 31P NMR spectroscopic studies revealed the formation of a [EuL2(ATP)] coordination species.  相似文献

The syntheses and crystal structures of eight lanthanide complexes with formula [Ln(2,5‐DCB)x(phen)y] are reported, which are characterized via single‐crystal, powder X‐ray diffraction, elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, photoluminescence measurement, and DC/AC magnetic measurement. These eight complexes are isostructural, and possess a discrete dinuclear structure. The adjacent dinuclear molecules are linked by the hydrogen bonding interactions into a one‐dimensional (1D) supramolecular chain. The neighboring 1D chains are further extended into a two‐dimensional (2D) supramolecular layer by the π–π stacking interactions. The photoluminescent properties of complexes 1 (NdIII), 2 (SmIII), 3 (EuIII), 5 (TbIII), 6 (DyIII), and 8 (YbIII) were investigated. Magnetic investigations also reveal the presence of ferromagnetic interactions in complexes 4 (GdIII), 6 (DyIII), and 7 (ErIII). Additionally, complex 6 (DyIII) demonstrates field‐induced slow magnetic relaxation behavior.  相似文献

Three new homodinuclear lanthanide(III) complexes [Ln2(L)6(2,2′‐bipy)2] [Ln = TbIII ( 1 ), SmIII ( 2 ), EuIII ( 3 ); HL = 3‐hydroxycinnamic acid (3‐HCA); 2,2′‐bipy = 2,2′‐bipyridine] were synthesized and characterized by IR spectroscopy, elemental analyses, and X‐ray diffraction techniques. Complexes 1 – 3 crystallize in triclinic system, space group P$\bar{1}$ . In all complexes the lanthanide ions are nine‐coordinate by two nitrogen atoms from the 2,2′‐bipy ligand and seven oxygen atoms from one chelating L ligands and four bridging L ligands, forming distorted tricapped trigonal prismatic arrangements. The lanthanide(III) ions are intramolecularly bridged by eight carboxylate oxygen atoms forming dimeric complexes with Ln ··· Ln distances of 3.92747(15), 3.9664(6), and 3.9415(4) Å for complexes 1 – 3 , respectively. The luminescent properties in the solid state of HL ligand and EuIII complex are also discussed.  相似文献

The lanthanide complex [Eu3(8‐HQCA)3(COOH)(OH)2(H2O)3]n · nH2O (8‐HQCA = 8‐hydroxyquinoline‐7‐carboxylic acid) was synthesized and characterized. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction shows that the trinuclear structures are linked by ligands to form 2D layers. The results of DFT calculation shows that energy can be transferred effectively from the ligand to EuIII ions. A series of heteronuclear complexes {[(Eu1–xYx)3(8‐HQCA)3(COOH) (OH)2(H2O)3]n · nH2O (x = 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8)} were synthesized and their luminescent properties were studied. The results showed that the doping of YIII ions could change the fluorescent intensity of the EuIII complex, but could not change their positions.  相似文献

For the first time, a new langbeinite‐type phosphate, namely potassium terbium tantalum tris(phosphate), K2Tb1.5Ta0.5(PO4)3, has been prepared successfully using a high‐temperature flux method and has been structurally characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. The results show that its structure can be described as a three‐dimensional open framework of [Tb1.5Ta0.5(PO4)3] interconnected by K+ ions. The TbIII and TaV cations in the structure are disordered and occupy the same crystallographic sites. The IR spectrum, the UV–Vis spectrum, the morphology and the Eu3+‐activated photoluminescence spectroscopic properties were studied. A series of Eu3+‐doped phosphors, i.e. K2Tb1.5–xTa0.5(PO4)3:xEu3+ (x = 0.01, 0.03, 0.05, 0.07, 0.10), were prepared via a solid‐state reaction and the photoluminescence properties were studied. The results show that under near‐UV excitation, the luminescence colour can be tuned from green through yellow to red by simply adjusting the Eu3+ concentration from 0 to 0.1, because of the efficient Tb3+→Eu3+ energy‐transfer mechanism.  相似文献

The crystal structure of the macrobicyclic europium(III) complex [Eu3+ ? 1 ]3Cl? incorporating a N,N′ - dioxide unit has been determined. It confirms the cryptate nature of this species, the included cation being bound to six N- and two O-sites. The efficient shielding of the bound Eu3+ ion may be related to the efficient luminescence of this cryptate and points to the role played by the N-oxide sites. To further explore the effect of such binding groups, the two macrocyclic ligands 4 and 5 bearing two bipyridine N,N′ -dioxide lateral arms have been synthesized and their EuIII and TbIII complexes prepared.  相似文献

Novel EuIII complexes with bidentate phosphine oxide ligands containing a bipyridine framework, i.e., [3,3′‐bis(diphenylphosphoryl)‐2,2′‐bipyridine]tris(hexafluoroacetylacetonato)europium(III) ([Eu(hfa)3(BIPYPO)]) and [3,3′‐bis(diphenylphosphoryl)‐6,6′‐dimethyl‐2,2′‐bipyridine]tris(hexafluoroacetylacetonato)europium(III) ([Eu(hfa)3(Me‐BIPYPO)]), were synthesized for lanthanide‐based sensor materials having high emission quantum yields and effective chemosensing properties. The emission quantum yields of [Eu(hfa)3(BIPYPO)] and [Eu(hfa)3(Me‐BIPYPO)] were 71 and 73%, respectively. Metal‐ion sensing properties of the EuIII complexes were also studied by measuring the emission spectra of EuIII complexes in the presence of ZnII or CuII ions. The metal‐ion sensing and the photophysical properties of luminescent EuIII complexes with a bidentate phosphine oxide containing 2,2′‐bipyridine framework are demonstrated for the first time.  相似文献

Four new three‐dimensional isostructural lanthanide–cadmium metal–organic frameworks (Ln–Cd MOFs), [LnCd2(imdc)2(Ac)(H2O)2]?H2O (Ln=Pr ( 1 ), Eu ( 2 ), Gd ( 3 ), and Tb ( 4 ); H3imdc=4,5‐imidazoledicarboxylic acid; Ac=acetate), have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and characterized by IR, elemental analyses, inductively coupled plasma (ICP) analysis, and X‐ray diffraction. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction shows that two LnIII ions are surrounded by four CdII ions to form a heteronuclear building block. The blocks are further linked to form 3D Ln–Cd MOFs by the bridging imdc3? ligand. Furthermore, the left‐ and right‐handed helices array alternatively in the lattice. Eu–Cd and Tb–Cd MOFs can emit characteristic red light with the EuIII ion and green light with the TbIII ion, respectively, while both Gd–Cd and Pr–Cd MOFs generate blue emission when they are excited. Different concentrations of Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions were co‐doped into Gd–Cd/Pr–Cd MOFs, and tunable luminescence from yellow to white was achieved. White‐light emission was obtained successfully by adjusting the excitation wavelength or the co‐doping ratio of the co‐doped Gd–Cd and Pr–Cd MOFs. These results show that the relative emission intensity of white light for Gd–Cd:Eu3+,Tb3+ MOFs is stronger than that of Pr–Cd:Eu3+,Tb3+ MOFs, which implies that the Gd complex is a better matrix than the Pr complex to obtain white‐light emission materials.  相似文献

Herein, EuIII‐doped 3D mesoscopically ordered arrays of mesoporous and nanocrystalline titania are prepared and studied. The rare‐earth‐doped titania thin films—synthesized via evaporation‐induced self‐assembly (EISA)—are characterized by using environmental ellipsoporosimetry, electronic microscopy (i.e. high‐resolution scanning electron microscopy, HR‐SEM, and transmission electron microscopy, HR‐TEM), X‐ray diffraction, and luminescence spectroscopy. Structural characterizations show that high europium‐ion loadings can be incorporated into the titanium‐dioxide walls without destroying the mesoporous arrangement. The luminescence properties of EuIII are investigated by using steady‐state and time‐resolved spectroscopy via excitation of the EuIII ions through the titania host. Using EuIII luminescence as a probe, the europium‐ion sites can be addressed with at least two different environments within the mesoporous framework, namely, a nanocrystalline environment and a glasslike one. Emission fluctuations (5D07F2) are observed upon continuous UV excitation in the host matrix. These fluctuations are attributed to charge trapping and appear to be strongly dependent on the amount of europium and the level of crystallinity.  相似文献

EuIII, TbIII, GdIII and YbIII complexes of the nonadentate bispidine derivative L2 (bispidine=3,7-diazabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane) were successfully synthesized and their emission properties studied. The X-ray crystallography reveals full encapsulation by the nonadentate ligand L2 that enforces to all LnIII cations a common highly symmetrical capped square antiprismatic (CSAPR) coordination geometry (pseudo C4v symmetry). The well-resolved identical emission spectra in solid state and in solution confirm equal structures in both media. As therefore expected, this results in long-lived excited states and high emission quantum yields ([EuIIIL2]+, H2O, 298 K, τ=1.51 ms, ϕ=0.35; [TbIIIL2]+, H2O, 298 K, τ=1.95 ms, ϕ=0.68). Together with the very high kinetic and thermodynamic stabilities, these complexes are a possible basis for interesting biological probes.  相似文献

Four 3D lanthanide organic frameworks from potassium pyrazine‐2, 3, 5, 6‐tetracarboxylate (K4pztc) or potassium pyridine‐2, 3, 5, 6‐tetracarboxylate (K4pdtc), namely, {[KEu(pztc)(H2O)2] · H2O}n ( 1 ), {[KTb(pztc)(H2O)2] · 1.25H2O}n ( 2 ), {[KLn(pdtc)(H2O)] · H2O}n [Ln = Gd ( 3 ), Ho ( 4 )], were synthesized by reaction of the corresponding lanthanide oxides with K4pztc or K4pdtc in presence of HCl under hydrothermal conditions, and characterized by elemental analysis, TGA, IR and fluorescence spectroscopy as well as X‐ray diffraction. In complexes 1 and 2 , the dodecadentate chelator pztc4– links four LnIII ions and four KI ions. The coordination mode of the pztc4– ligand is reported for the first time herein. Complexes 3 and 4 are isostructural with earlier reported Nd, Dy, Er complexes. Moreover, the EuIII and TbIII complexes exhibit the characteristic luminescence.  相似文献

A series of novel KBaSc2(PO4)3:Ce3+/Eu2+/Tb3+phosphors are prepared using a solid‐state reaction. X‐ray diffraction analysis and Rietveld structure refinement are used to check the phase purity and crystal structure of the prepared samples. Ce3+‐ and Eu2+‐doped phosphors both have broad excitation and emission bands, owing to the spin‐ and orbital‐allowed electron transition between the 4f and 5d energy levels. By co‐doping the KBaSc2(PO4)3:Eu2+ and KBaSc2(PO4)3:Ce3+ phosphors with Tb3+ ions, tunable colors from blue to green can be obtained. The critical distance between the Eu2+ and Tb3+ ions is calculated by a concentration quenching method and the energy‐transfer mechanism for Eu2+→Tb3+ is studied by utilizing the Inokuti–Hirayama model. In addition, the quantum efficiencies of the prepared samples are measured. The results indicate that KBaSc2(PO4)3:Eu2+,Tb3+ and KBaSc2(PO4)3:Ce3+,Tb3+ phosphors might have potential applications in UV‐excited white‐light‐emitting diodes.  相似文献

Three novel lanthanide complexes with the ligand 4,4-difluoro-1-(1,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)butane-1,3-dione (HL), namely [LnL3(H2O)2], Ln = Eu, Gd and Tb, were synthesized, and, according to single-crystal X-ray diffraction, are isostructural. The photoluminescent properties of these compounds, as well as of three series of mixed metal complexes [EuxTb1-xL3(H2O)2] (EuxTb1-xL3), [EuxGd1-xL3(H2O)2] (EuxGd1-xL3), and [GdxTb1-xL3(H2O)2] (GdxTb1-xL3), were studied. The EuxTb1-xL3 complexes exhibit the simultaneous emission of both Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions, and the luminescence color rapidly changes from green to red upon introducing even a small fraction of Eu3+. A detailed analysis of the luminescence decay made it possible to determine the observed radiative lifetimes of Tb3+ and Eu3+ and estimate the rate of excitation energy transfer between these ions. For this task, a simple approximation function was proposed. The values of the energy transfer rates determined independently from the luminescence decays of terbium(III) and europium(III) ions show a good correlation.  相似文献

A series of homoditopic ligands H2LCX (X=4–6) has been designed to self‐assemble with lanthanide ions (LnIII), resulting in neutral bimetallic helicates of overall composition [Ln2(LCX)3] with the aim of testing the influence of substituents on the photophysical properties, particularly the excitation wavelength. The complex species are thermodynamically stable in water (log β23 in the range 26–28 at pH 7.4) and display a metal‐ion environment with pseudo‐D3 symmetry and devoid of coordinated water molecules. The emission of EuIII, TbIII, and YbIII is sensitised to various extents, depending on the properties of the ligand donor levels. The best helicate is [Eu2(LC5)3] with excitation maxima at 350 and 365 nm and a quantum yield of 9 %. The viability of cervix cancer HeLa cells is unaffected when incubated with up to 500 μm of the chelate during 24 h. The helicate permeates into the cells by endocytosis and locates into lysosomes, which co‐localise with the endoplasmatic reticulum, as demonstrated by counterstaining experiments. The relatively long excitation wavelength allows easy recording of bright luminescent images on a confocal microscope (λexc=405 nm). The new lanthanide bioprobe remains undissociated in the cell medium, and is amenable to facile derivatisation. Examination of data for seven EuIII and TbIII bimetallic helicates point to shortcomings in the phenomenological rules of thumb between the energy gap ΔE(3ππ*–5DJ) and the sensitisation efficiency of the ligands.  相似文献

The cubic inverse Perovskites (Eu3O)In and (Eu3O)Sn were prepared from the metals and Eu2O3 or SnO2, respectively. For (Eu3O)In the crystal structure analysis was performed on single crystal X‐ray diffraction data (space group , a = 512.79(3) pm, Z = 1, Rgt(F) = 0.022, wR(F2) = 0.044). The data indicated full occupancy on all sites and a fully ordered structure. According to magnetic susceptibility measurements and X‐ray absorption spectroscopic data at the Eu LIII edge both compounds contain europium in the 4f7 (Eu2+) electronic state. (Eu3O)In orders ferromagnetically at 185(5) K, (Eu3O)Sn shows antiferromagnetic order at 31.4(2) K. Both compounds behave as metallic conductors in electrical resistivity measurements. However, (Eu3O)In may be classified a metal, while (Eu3O)Sn is more likely a heavily doped degenerated semiconductor or semimetal according to the absolute values of the resistivity.  相似文献

Homodinuclear lanthanide complexes (Ln=La, Eu, Gd, Tb, Yb and Lu) derived from a bis‐macrocyclic ligand featuring two 2,2′,2′′‐(1,4,7,10‐tetraazacyclododecane‐1,4,7‐triyl)triacetic acid chelating sites linked by a 2,6‐bis(pyrazol‐1‐yl)pyridine spacer (H2L3) were prepared and characterized. Luminescence lifetime measurements recorded on solutions of the EuIII and TbIII complexes indicate the presence of one inner‐sphere water molecule coordinated to each metal ion in these complexes. The overall luminescence quantum yields were determined (?=0.01 for [Eu2(L3)] and 0.50 for [Tb2(L3)] in 0.01 M TRIS/HCl, pH 7.4; TRIS=tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane), pointing to an effective sensitization of the metal ion by the bispyrazolylpyridyl unit of the ligand, especially with Tb. The nuclear magnetic relaxation dispersion (NMRD) profiles recorded for [Gd2(L3)] are characteristic of slowly tumbling systems, showing a low‐field plateau and a broad maximum around 30 MHz. This suggests the occurrence of aggregation of the complexes giving rise to slowly rotating species. A similar behavior is observed for the analogous GdIII complex containing a 4,4′‐dimethyl‐2,2′‐bipyridyl spacer ([Gd2(L1)]). The relaxivity of [Gd2(L3)] recorded at 0.5 T and 298 K (pH 6.9) amounts to 13.7 mM ?1 s?1. The formation of aggregates has been confirmed by dynamic light scattering (DLS) experiments, which provided mean particle sizes of 114 and 38 nm for [Gd2(L1)] and [Gd2(L3)], respectively. TEM images of [Gd2(L3)] indicate the formation of nearly spherical nanosized aggregates with a mean diameter of about 41 nm, together with some nonspherical particles with larger size.  相似文献

Pressure‐induced structural changes and electronic properties of rhombohedral Eu4P3 were characterised by means of X‐ray powder diffraction and X‐ray absorption spectroscopy at the Eu LIII threshold. The measurements at low pressures indicate oxidation states of the europium atoms which are compatible with a composition Eu32+Eu3+P3. At a pressure of 8(1) GPa, Eu4P3 undergoes a structural phase transition. The cubic high pressure modification with (anti‐)Th3P4 type crystal structure is also identified as a compound with a non‐integer average oxidation state of the europium atoms.  相似文献

We describe herein the synthesis and photophysical characterization of new lanthanide complexes that consist of a (9,9‐dimethylfluoren‐2‐yl)‐2‐oxoethyl or a (9,9′‐spirobifluoren‐2‐yl)‐2‐oxoethyl unit as the antenna, covalently linked to a 1,4,7,10‐tetraazacyclododecane‐1,4,7‐triacetic acid (DO3A) unit as the Ln3+ (Gd3+, Eu3+, Sm3+, Tb3+, Dy3+) coordination site. We were able to translate the spectroscopic properties of the innovative bipartite ligands into the formation of highly luminescent europium complexes that exhibit efficient emission (?se>0.1) upon sensitization in the near‐visible region, that is, with an excitation wavelength above 350 nm. The luminescence of the Eu3+complexes is clearly detectable at concentrations as low as 10 pM . Furthermore, the structural organization of these bipartite ligands makes the complexes highly soluble in aqueous solutions and chemically stable over time.  相似文献

Two chelate ligands for europium(III) having minocycline (=(4S,4aS,5aR,12aS)‐4,7‐bis(dimethylamino)‐1,4,4a,5,5a,6,11,12a‐octahydro‐3,10,12,12a‐tetrahydroxy‐1,11‐dioxonaphthacene‐2‐carboxamide; 5 ) as a VIS‐light‐absorbing group were synthesized as possible VIS‐light‐excitable stable Eu3+ complexes for protein labeling. The 9‐amino derivative 7 of minocycline was treated with H6TTHA (=triethylenetetraminehexaacetic acid=3,6,9,12‐tetrakis(carboxymethyl)‐3,6,9,12‐tetraazatetradecanedioic acid) or H5DTPA (=diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid=N,N‐bis{2‐[bis(carboxymethyl)amino]ethyl}glycine) to link the polycarboxylic acids to minocycline. One of the Eu3+ chelates, [Eu3+(minocycline‐TTHA)] ( 13 ), is moderately luminescent in H2O by excitation at 395 nm, whereas [Eu3+(minocycline‐DTPA)] ( 9 ) was not luminescent by excitation at the same wavelength. The luminescence and the excitation spectra of [Eu3+(minocycline‐TTHA)] ( 13 ) showed that, different from other luminescent EuIII chelate complexes, the emission at 615 nm is caused via direct excitation of the Eu3+ ion, and the chelate ligand is not involved in the excitation of Eu3+. However, the ligand seems to act for the prevention of quenching of the Eu3+ emission by H2O. The fact that the excitation spectrum of [Eu3+(minocycline‐TTHA)] is almost identical with the absorption spectrum of Eu3+ aqua ion supports such an excitation mechanism. The high stability of the complexes of [Eu3+(minocycline‐DTPA)] ( 9 ) and [Eu3+(minocycline‐TTHA)] ( 13 ) was confirmed by UV‐absorption semi‐quantitative titrations of H4(minocycline‐DTPA) ( 8 ) and H5(minocycline‐TTHA) ( 12 ) with Eu3+. The titrations suggested also that an 1 : 1 ligand Eu3+ complex is formed from 12 , whereas an 1 : 2 complex was formed from 8 minocycline‐DTPA. The H5(minocycline‐TTHA) ( 12 ) was successfully conjugated to streptavidin (SA) (Scheme 5), and thus the applicability of the corresponding Eu3+ complex to label a protein was established.  相似文献
