By the Telescope Conjecture for Module Categories, we mean the following claim: “Let R be any ring and (A,B) be a hereditary cotorsion pair in Mod-R with A and B closed under direct limits. Then (A,B) is of finite type.”We prove a modification of this conjecture with the word ‘finite’ replaced by ‘countable.’ We show that a hereditary cotorsion pair (A,B) of modules over an arbitrary ring R is generated by a set of strongly countably presented modules provided that B is closed under unions of well-ordered chains. We also characterize the modules in B and the countably presented modules in A in terms of morphisms between finitely presented modules, and show that (A,B) is cogenerated by a single pure-injective module provided that A is closed under direct limits. Then we move our attention to strong analogies between cotorsion pairs in module categories and localizing pairs in compactly generated triangulated categories.  相似文献

We give several equivalent characterisations of left (and hence, by duality, also of right) supported algebras. These characterisations are in terms of properties of the left and the right parts of the module category, or in terms of the classes L0 and R0 which consist respectively of the predecessors of the projective modules, and of the successors of the injective modules.  相似文献

We study self-extensions of modules over symmetric artin algebras. We show that non-projective modules with eventually vanishing self-extensions must lie in AR components of stable type ZAZA. Moreover, the degree of the highest non-vanishing self-extension of these modules is determined by their quasilength. This has implications for the Auslander–Reiten Conjecture and the Extension Conjecture.  相似文献

In this paper we study Baer invariants of precrossed modules relative to the subcategory of crossed modules, following Fröhlich and Furtado-Coelho’s general theory on Baer invariants in varieties of Ω-groups and Modi’s theory on higher dimensional Baer invariants. Several homological invariants of precrossed and crossed modules were defined in the last two decades. We show how to use Baer invariants in order to connect these various homology theories. First, we express the low-dimensional Baer invariants of precrossed modules in terms of a new non-abelian tensor product of a precrossed module. This expression is used to analyze the connection between the Baer invariants and the homological invariants of precrossed modules defined by Conduché and Ellis. Specifically we prove that the second homological invariant of Conduché and Ellis is in general a quotient of the first component of the Baer invariant we consider. The definition of classical Baer invariants is generalized using homological methods. These generalized Baer invariants of precrossed modules are applied to the construction of five term exact sequences connecting the generalized Baer invariants with the cohomology theory of crossed modules considered by Carrasco, Cegarra and R.-Grandjeán and the cohomology theory of precrossed modules.  相似文献

This paper concerns finitely generated modules over Artin algebras. We introduce the notion of an IG-projective module and use this to prove that if, over such an algebra RR, each simple module is strongly Gorenstein projective, then any indecomposable RR-module is either projective or simple. We also prove that if RR is local and the simple module is IG-projective, then 1-self-orthogonal modules are projective.  相似文献

Abstract

In this paper, we introduce a concept of a dual F-Baer module M where F is the fully invariant submodule of M, by this means we deal with generating dual Baer modules. We investigate direct sums of dual F -Baer modules M by exerting the notion of relatively dual F-Baer modules. We also obtain applications of dual F-Baer modules to rings and the preradical Z*(·).  相似文献

We define and study twisted support varieties for modules over an Artin algebra, where the twist is induced by an automorphism of the algebra. Under a certain finite generation hypothesis we show that the twisted variety of a module satisfies Dade’s Lemma and is one dimensional precisely when the module is periodic with respect to the twisting automorphism. As a special case we obtain results on DTr-periodic modules over Frobenius algebras.  相似文献

Let Λ be an artin algebra and X a finitely generated Λ-module. Iyama has shown that there exists a module Y such that the endomorphism ring Γ of XY is quasi-hereditary, with a heredity chain of length n, and that the global dimension of Γ is bounded by this n. In general, one only knows that a quasi-hereditary algebra with a heredity chain of length n must have global dimension at most 2n−2. We want to show that Iyama’s better bound is related to the fact that the ring Γ he constructs is not only quasi-hereditary, but even left strongly quasi-hereditary. By definition, the left strongly quasi-hereditary algebras are the quasi-hereditary algebras with all standard left modules of projective dimension at most 1.  相似文献

Let A be an Artin algebra. A pair (C,T) of A-modules is tilting provided that C and T are (finitely generated) self-orthogonal, and . Particularly, T is a tilting module if and only if (A,T) is a tilting pair. In the note, we will extend the Auslander-Reiten correspondence for tilting modules to the context of tilting pairs.  相似文献

The cluster-tilted algebras have been introduced by Buan, Marsh and Reiten, they are the endomorphism rings of cluster-tilting objects T in cluster categories; we call such an algebra cluster-concealed in case T is obtained from a preprojective tilting module. For example, all representation-finite cluster-tilted algebras are cluster-concealed. If C is a representation-finite cluster-tilted algebra, then the indecomposable C-modules are shown to be determined by their dimension vectors. For a general cluster-tilted algebra C, we are going to describe the dimension vectors of the indecomposable C-modules in terms of the root system of a quadratic form. The roots may have both positive and negative coordinates and we have to take absolute values.  相似文献

This paper concerns indecomposable preprojective modules over the path algebra of a finite connected quiver without oriented cycles. For each such module, an explicit formula in terms of the geometry of the quiver gives a unique, up to a certain equivalence, shortest (+)-admissible sequence such that the corresponding composition of reflection functors annihilates the module. An efficient way to compute the module is to recover it from its shortest (+)-admissible sequence. The set of equivalence classes of the above sequences has a natural structure of a partially ordered set. For a large class of quivers, the Hasse diagram of the partially ordered set is isomorphic to the preprojective component of the Auslander-Reiten quiver. The techniques of (+)-admissible sequences yield a new result about slices in the preprojective component.  相似文献

We study finiteness conditions on large tilting modules over arbitrary rings. We then turn to a hereditary artin algebra R and apply our results to the (infinite dimensional) tilting module L that generates all modules without preprojective direct summands. We show that the behaviour of L over its endomorphism ring determines the representation type of R. A similar result holds true for the (infinite dimensional) tilting module W that generates the divisible modules. Finally, we extend to the wild case some results on Baer modules and torsion-free modules proven in Angeleri Hügel, L., Herbera, D., Trlifaj, J.: Baer and Mittag-Leffler modules over tame hereditary algebras. Math. Z. 265, 1–19 (2010) for tame hereditary algebras.  相似文献

We generalize the tilting process by Happel, Reiten and Smalø to the setting of finitely presented modules over right coherent rings. Moreover, we extend the characterization of quasi-tilted artin algebras as the almost hereditary ones to all right noetherian rings.  相似文献

We introduce the notions of IDS modules, IP modules, and Baer* modules, which are new generalizations of von Neumann regular rings, PP rings, and Baer rings, respectively, in a general module theoretic setting. We obtain some characterizations and properties of IDS modules, IP modules and Baer* modules. Some important classes of rings are characterized in terms of IDS modules, IP modules, and Baer* modules.  相似文献

A morphism of left R-modules is a phantom morphism if for any morphism , with A finitely presented, the composition fg factors through a projective module. Equivalently, Tor1(X,f)=0 for every right R-module X. It is proved that every R-module possesses a phantom cover, whose kernel is pure injective. If is the category of finitely presented right R-modules modulo projectives, then the association M?Tor1(−,M) is a functor from the category of left R-modules to that of the flat functors on . The phantom cover is used to characterize when this functor is faithful or full. It is faithful if and only if the flat cover of every module has a pure injective kernel; this is equivalent to the flat cover being the phantom cover. The question of fullness is only reasonable when the functor is restricted to the subcategory of cotorsion modules. This restriction is full if and only if every phantom cover of a cotorsion module is pure injective.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the tensor product structure of the category of finite dimensional modules over Drinfeld doubles of Taft Hopf algebras. Tensor product decomposition rules for all finite dimensional indecomposable modules are explicitly given.  相似文献

Let R be a ring and P be an (infinite dimensional) partial tilting module. We show that the perpendicular category of P is equivalent to the full module category where and ?R is the Bongartz complement of P modulo its P-trace. Moreover, there is a ring epimorphism φ:RS. We characterize the case when φ is a perfect localization. By [Riccardo Colpi, Alberto Tonolo, Jan Trlifaj, Partial cotilting modules and the lattices induced by them, Comm. Algebra 25 (10) (1997) 3225-3237], there exist mutually inverse isomorphisms μ and ν between the interval in the lattice of torsion classes in , and the lattice of all torsion classes in . We provide necessary and sufficient conditions for μ and ν to preserve tilting torsion classes. As a consequence, we show that these conditions are always satisfied when R is a Dedekind domain, and if P is finitely presented and R is an artin algebra, then the conditions reduce to the trivial ones, namely that each value of μ and ν contains all injectives.  相似文献
