We present a differential calculus on the extension of the quantum plane obtained by considering that the (bosonic) generator x is invertible and by working with polynomials in ln x instead of polynomials in x. We construct the quantum Lie algebra associated with this extension and obtain its Hopf algebra structure and its dual Hopf algebra.  相似文献

We develop a general formalism to translate the Susskind one-component theory of free fermions in a formulation with conventional Dirac spinors. It results that Susskind theory has parity-violating and flavour-changing terms which vanish only in the continuum limit. Gauge fields destroy the equivalence between the one-component and the conventional formulations. In particular the one-component fermions respond to a gauge field as they were in a curved space-time. However, this gravity effect vanishes if one takes a naive continuum limit.  相似文献

We present a modification of the Dirac equation that allows us to formulate a relativistic quantum mechanics for spin-1/2 fermions in an external electromagnetic field, with a probabilistic interpretation similar to that in nonrelativistic quantum mechanics and based on an indefinite charge density. We find that stationary states cannot be interpreted in this manner, and we replace them by quasistationary states. We also include a general discussion of the difficulties and possible generalizations of this approach.  相似文献

The study of entanglement properties of quantum critical many-particle systems has become a subject of intense interest. While the basic features of entanglement scaling for critical spin-1/2 systems (coupled qubits) are by now fairly well understood, entanglement properties of critical fermions (or bosons) are less well studied. In an effort to contribute to this problem, we have analyzed the single-site entanglement of a generic spin-1/2 lattice fermion system and found that (under certain provisos) this measure can be used as a reliable marker to identify and partly characterize a quantum critical point. We illustrate our findings by exact analytical results for the single-site entanglement at the magnetic and Mott-Hubbard transitions of the 1D Hubbard model and at the Mott-Hubbard transitions of the 1D Hubbard model with long-range hopping. In a GaAs/AlGaAs quantum well of density 1 x 10(11) cm(-2) we observed a fractional quantum Hall effect (FQHE) at nu = 4/11 and 5/13, and weaker states at nu = 6/17, 4/13, 5/17, and 7/11. These sequences of fractions do not fit into the standard series of integral quantum Hall effects of composite fermions (CF) at nu = p/(2mp +/- 1). They rather can be regarded as the FQHE of CFs attesting to residual interactions between these composite particles. In tilted magnetic fields the nu = 4/11 state remains unchanged, strongly suggesting it to be spin polarized. The weak nu = 7/11 state vanishes quickly with tilt.  相似文献

Two theories of chiral fermions coupled to different quantum gravities in two dimensions are studied. One employs Jackiw's ansatz for classical gravity by introducing an auxiliary scalar, the other is based on the induced quantum gravity of Polyakov, which has no classical analogue. By investigating a localized theory of the effective action we show that in both cases a limited number of fermions of either chirality may couple consistently. It is stressed that the Weyl variable has to be quantized properly, which is related to recent work done on non-critical strings.  相似文献

Using the adaptive time-dependent density-matrix renormalization group method, we study the time evolution of strongly correlated spinless fermions on a one-dimensional lattice after a sudden change of the interaction strength. For certain parameter values, two different initial states (e.g., metallic and insulating) lead to observables which become indistinguishable after relaxation. We find that the resulting quasistationary state is nonthermal. This result holds for both integrable and nonintegrable variants of the system.  相似文献

We consider different configurations of ac driven quantum dots coupled to superconductor leads where Majorana fermions can exist as collective quasiparticles. The main goal is to tune the existence, localization and properties of these zero energy quasiparticles by means of periodically driven external gates. In particular, we analyze the relevance of the system and driving symmetry. We predict the existence of different sweet spots with Floquet Majorana fermions in configurations where they are not present in the undriven system.  相似文献

A lattice analogue of the Kac-Moody algebra is constructed. It is shown that the generators of the quantum algebra with the deformation parameterq=exp(iπ/k+h) can be constructed in terms of generators of the lattice Kac-Moody algebra (LKM) with the central chargek. It appears that there exists a natural correspondence between representations of the LKM algebra and the finite dimensional quantum group. The tensor product for representations of the LKM algebra and the finite dimensional quantum algebra is suggested.  相似文献

A group theoretical approach to dynamical quantization in general, and quantum field theory in particular, is developed. This approach opens possibilities of new quantization schemes. Some of these schemes are discussed in detail. We consider relativistic constrained systems interacting with external fields. We provide physical arguments to support the idea that the quantum constraint algebra should be the same as in the free quantum case. For systems with ordering ambiguities this principle is essential to obtain a unique quantization. This is shown explicitly in the case of a relativistic spinning particle, where our assumption about the constraint algebra plus invariance under general coordinate transformations leads to a unique S-matrix.  相似文献
