We discuss the effect of CP-violatingZb $\bar b$ Zb $\bar b$ G andZb $\bar b$ γ couplings on the width Γ(Z→b $\bar b$ X). The presence of such couplings leads in a natural way to an increase of this width relative to the prediction of the standard model. Various strategies of a direct search for such CP-violating couplings by using CP-odd observables are outlined. The number ofZ bosons required to obtain significant information on the couplings in this way is well within the reach of present LEP experiments.  相似文献

The CP violating asymmetry in theBK? decay is studied in both supersymmetric model and three Higgs doublets model. The absorptive part of the penguin amplitude leads to the CP violating asymmetry in theB u +- K ±? decays, which is at most 3% due to the GIM mechanism in the standard model. However, the asymmetry could be relatively large if there exists a new source of the imaginary component in the decay amplitude. In the supersymmetric model, the contributions of the imaginary part of the super-penguin and the super-box processes rather suppress the magnitude of the asymmetry, whereas in the three Higgs doublets model, that of the charged Higgs-penguin process could significantly enhance it.  相似文献

In the light of the recent Daya Bay result $\theta_{13}^{\mathrm{DB}}=8.8^{\circ}\pm0.8^{\circ}$ , we reconsider the model presented in Meloni et?al. (J. Phys.?G 38:015003, 2011), showing that, when all neutrino oscillation parameters are taken at their best fit values of Schwetz et?al. (New J. Phys. 10:113011,?2008) and where $\theta_{13}=\theta_{13}^{\mathrm{DB}}$ , the predicted values of the CP phase are ????±??/4.  相似文献

We report measurements of the branching fractions and CP asymmetries for B(±)→ηh(±) (h=K or π) and the observation of the decay B(0)→ηK(0) from the final data sample of 772×10(6) B ?B pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. The measured branching fractions are B(B(±)→ηK(±))=(2.12±0.23±0.11)×10(-6), B(B(±)→ηπ(±))=(4.07±0.26±0.21)×10(-6), and B(B(0)→ηK(0))=(1.27(-0.29)(+0.33)±0.08)×10(-6), where the last decay is observed for the first time with a significance of 5.4 standard deviations (σ). We also find evidence for CP violation in the charged B modes, A(CP)(B(±)→ηK(±))=-0.38±0.11±0.01 and A(CP)(B(±)→ηπ(±))=-0.19±0.06±0.01 with significances of 3.8 σ and 3.0 σ, respectively. For all measurements, the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively.  相似文献

The contribution of the inelastic channels K ? p, where = Σ? π +, Σ + π ?, Σ 0 π 0, or λ0 π 0, kinematically allowed at the K ? p threshold to the S-wave scattering length of elastic K ? p scattering, as well as the shift of the ground-state energy of kaonic hydrogen, is calculated. The result, δa 0 K?p = ?0.037 ± 0.010 fm and δε 1s = 15 ± 4 eV, will be important for the theoretical analysis of the expected data from the experiments scheduled by the DEAR and SIDDHARTA Collaborations at the end of 2006.  相似文献

The high-statistics Belle data on the γγ → π+π? and γγ → π0π0 reactions have been jointly analyzed. The main dynamical mechanisms of these reactions for energies below 1.5 GeV have been revealed. It has been shown that the direct coupling constants of the σ(600) and f 0(980) resonances with a γγ pair are small and that the σ(600) → γγ and f 0(980) → γγ decays are four-quark transitions due primarily to π+π? and K + K ?-loop mechanisms, respectively. The role of the chiral shielding of the σ(600) resonance is emphasized. The widths of the f 0(980) → γγ and σ(600) → γγ decays averaged over the resonance mass distributions, as well as the width of the f 2(1270) → γγ decay, are estimated as \(\langle \Gamma _{f_0 \to \gamma \gamma } \rangle _{\pi \pi } \approx 0.19 keV, \langle \Gamma _{\sigma \to \gamma \gamma } \rangle _{\pi \pi } \approx 0.45 keV\), and \(\Gamma _{f_2 \to \gamma \gamma } (m_{f_2 }^2 ) \approx 3.8 keV\).  相似文献

An improved test of invariance in the reaction e+e? τ + τ ? on the Z0 peak is performed using the data sample recorded between 1991 and 1995 with the OPAL detector at LEP. Optimal observables, requiring the reconstruction of the τ flight direction and spin, have been used for different final state topologies. From the non-observation of violation we derive 95% confidence level upper limits on the real and imaginary parts of the weak dipole moment of the τ lepton of |Re(d τ w (m Z 2 | < 5.6 × 10?18 e cm and |Im(d τ w (m Z 2 ))| < 1.5 × 10?17 e cm, respectively.  相似文献

The decay rates of KL → 2γ and KS → 2γ have been measured at the CERN SPS. The results are Γ(KL→2γ)/χ(KL→2π0)=0.632±0.004±0.008 and Γ(KS→2γ)/Γ(KL→2γ)=2.3 ±1.0±0.4. This is the first observation of KS→2γ decays.  相似文献

The degree of influence of radiative processes on the ignition of deuterium–tritium (DT) plasma has been theoretically studied as dependent on the content of inactive impurities in plasma. The analytic criterion of plasma ignition in inertial confinement fusion (ICF) targets is modified taking into account the absorption of intrinsic radiation from plasma in the ignition region. The influence of radiative processes on the DT plasma ignition has been analytically and numerically studied for plasma that contains a significant fraction of inactive impurities either as a result of DT fuel mixing with ICF target ablator material or as a result of using light metal DT-hydrides as solid noncryogenic fuel. It has been shown that the effect of the absorption of intrinsic radiation leads to lower impurity-induced increase in the ignition energy as compared to that calculated in the approximation of optically transparent ignition region.  相似文献

The rate of the decay of the neutral K meson into K L 0 μμγ has been measured with the NA48 detector at the CERN SPS. A total of 59 events has been observed with an estimated background of 14 events. The overall Kaon flux was determined to be 1.2 × 109. This observation corresponds to a branching ratio of (3.4 ± 0.6stat ± 0.4sys × 10-7. Using this branching ratio the parameter αK* describing the relative strength of the two contributing amplitudes to this decay, through intermediate pseudoscalar or vectorlike mesons, was measured to be αK* = -0.04+ -0.21 +0.24 .  相似文献

We have studied \(D_s^ + \to K_0^{* + } \bar K^0\) and \(D_s^ + \to \bar K_0^{*0} K^ +\) decays in the factorization of the hadron currents approximation. The spectator model leads the decays have different but negligible branching ratios. We show, however, that the inclusion of annihilation contribution can enhance the branching ratios. We predict that \(B(D_s^ + \to \bar K_0^{*0} K^ + )\) and \(B(D_s^ + \to K_0^{* + } \bar K^0 )\) could be around 2%.  相似文献

The non-resonant formation of ddμ molecules in the loosely bound state in collisions of non-thermalized atoms with deuterium molecules D2 has been considered. The process of such a?type is possible only for collision energies exceeded the ionization potential of D2. The calculated rates of ddμ formation in the above-threshold energy region are about one order of magnitude higher than obtained earlier. The role of epithermal non-resonant μ-molecule formation for the kinetics of μCF processes in D2 gas was studied. It was shown that the non-resonant ddμ formation by atoms accelerated during the cascade can be directly observed in the neutron time spectra at very short initial times.  相似文献

The observables ?(K) and ΔM(K) play a prominent role in particle physics due to their sensitivity to new physics at short distances. To take advantage of this potential, a firm theoretical prediction of the standard-model background is essential. The charm-quark contribution is a major source of theoretical uncertainty. We address this issue by performing a next-to-next-to-leading-order QCD analysis of the charm-quark contribution η(cc) to the effective |ΔS|=2 Hamiltonian in the standard model. We find a large positive shift of 36%, leading to η(cc)=1.87(76). This result might cast doubt on the validity of the perturbative expansion; we discuss possible solutions. Finally, we give an updated value of the standard-model prediction for |?(K)|=1.81(28)×10(-3) and ΔM(K)(SD)=3.1(1.2)×10(-15) GeV.  相似文献

We show that in the standard model the parametrically leading (by a factor 1/α(s)) contribution to the inclusive CP asymmetry in B→X(s,d)γ decays arises from a long-distance effect in the interference of the electromagnetic dipole amplitude with the amplitude for an up-quark penguin transition accompanied by soft gluon emission. Using model estimates for the associated hadronic parameter Λ(17)(u), we predict a value in the range -0.6% < A(X(s)γ)(SM) < 2.8%. In view of current experimental data, a future precision measurement of the flavor-averaged CP asymmetry would signal the presence of new physics only if a value below -2% was found. A cleaner probe of new physics is offered by the difference of the CP asymmetries in charged versus neutral B→X(s,d)γ decays.  相似文献
