We have set up field equations for a diatomic chain of atoms, including nonlinear single site potentials. Some particular solitary wave solutions are found for the case of equal displacement fields. These solutions propagate with a fixed characteristic velocity. Some preliminary molecular dynamics results are also reported.  相似文献

The memtranstor has been proposed to be the fourth fundamental circuit memelement in addition to the memristor,memcapacitor, and meminductor. Here, we demonstrate the memtranstor behavior at room temperature in a device made of the magnetoelectric hexaferrite(Ba_(0.5)Sr_(1.5)Co_2Fe_(11) AlO_(22)) where the electric polarization is tunable by external magnetic field. This device shows a nonlinear q–р relationship with a butterfly-shaped hysteresis loop, in agreement with the anticipated memtranstor behavior. The memtranstor, like other memelements, has a great potential in developing more advanced circuit functionalities.  相似文献

We review the recent developments of the polariton physics in microcavities featuring the exciton–photon strong coupling at room temperature, and leading to the achievement of room-temperature polariton condensates. Such cavities embed active layers with robust excitons that present a large binding energy and a large oscillator strength, i.e. wide bandgap inorganic or organic semiconductors, or organic molecules. These various systems are compared, in terms of figures of merit and of common features related to their strong oscillator strength. The various demonstrations of polariton laser are compared, as well as their condensation phase diagrams. The room-temperature operation indeed allows a detailed investigation of the thermodynamic and out-of-equilibrium regimes of the condensation process. The crucial role of the spatial dynamics of the condensate formation is discussed, as well as the debated issue of the mechanism of stimulated relaxation from the reservoir to the condensate under non-resonant excitation. Finally the prospects of polariton devices are presented.  相似文献

Distinct resonances of the infrared excitation of surface subbands on Si(100) are observed to ~ 300 K. The linewidth is found to increase with rising temperature. We show that in general the optical width cannot be directly related to transport mobility.  相似文献

We have previously considered the energetics and dynamics of ionic and orientational defects in the proton displacement pattern on a hydrogen-bonded chain at zero temperature. Here we examine thermal effects on ionic defect motion in such a chain. The chain is represented by a classical lattice hamiltonian and a modified tight-binding electronic hamiltonian. Temperature is incorporated using the Nose-Hoover method. We find that the threshold field for defect motion is reduced somewhat by temperature, as would be expected. The degree of reduction depends on whether the heavy-ion sublattice is taken to be stationary or mobile, but in either case the threshold fields at 200 K are still comparable to breakdown fields for reasonable values of the dielectric screening. Mobilities are on the order of 0.005 cm2/V s, well below the values initially observed by Eigen and de Maeyer, but consistent with more recent observations.  相似文献

A single-electron molecular transistor is implemented at room temperature on the basis of a stable Langmuir monomolecular film consisting of a mixture of stearic acid and carborane clusters. Control of the tunneling current with the aid of an independent voltage source is recorded at room temperature. The results are compared with the “orthodox” theory of single-charge electronics. A one-dimensional diatomic chain whose energy contains cubic and quartic terms in the atomic displacements is considered. A modified asymptotic method is proposed for finding soliton solutions to equations describing systems with nonlinearities of various symmetry. It is shown that the dynamics of the model in question can be described in terms of equations that are similar to the dynamic equations for a diatomic chain with an even potential function. Soliton solutions of a new, unusual type are found in the specific case of a free diatomic chain with a purely cubic anharmonic potential.  相似文献

The modes of vibration of a three impurity cluster in a diatomic linear chain is studied. The configuration of the three impurity atoms is such that two of these go into next nearest neighbour sites in one of the sub-lattices whereas the third occupies the central in between site in the other sub-lattice. New local, gap and inband modes are seen to exist, besides the ones corresponding to the impurity pairs. A new feature which appears is that the frequencies of some of the pair modes remain totally unaffected in the presence of the third impurity atom.  相似文献

Room-temperature, easy-to-operate quantum memories are essential building blocks for future long distance quantum information networks operating on an intercontinental scale, because devices like quantum repeaters, based on quantum memories, will have to be deployed in potentially remote, inaccessible locations. Here we demonstrate controllable, broadband and efficient storage and retrieval of weak coherent light pulses at the single-photon level in warm atomic cesium vapor using the robust far off-resonant Raman memory scheme. We show that the unconditional noise floor of this technically simple quantum memory is low enough to operate in the quantum regime, even in a room-temperature environment.  相似文献

The equation for the determination of local modes is developed by the method of Green's functions. The problem is solved by the transformation of the displacements and the introduction of frequency-dependent mass. In this way even a case of a general defect in the diatomic chain with nearest neighbours' interaction is converted into a monoatomic chain analysis for which the method of Green's functions has been developed. The InMnAs layers with ferromagnetic properties at room temperature are prepared by laser ablation. This is confirmed by the results of investigating the anomalous Hall and magneto-optical Kerr effects and by magnetic-force microscopy. According to x-ray diffraction data, the InMnAs layers have a fairly high crystal quality but contain inclusions of the MnAs hexagonal phase. An analysis of the electrical properties of the InMnAs layers suggests that the ferromagnetism revealed at room temperature cannot be accounted for by the presence of the MnAs phase but is associated with the charge carrier transfer in the InMnAs matrix.  相似文献

A fit of the reflectivity data of KCP is given using the expressions of the small polaron theory. It is further shown that small polaron theory gives the same optical properties as either a two site model with a deformation coordinate and Franck Condon transitions between the sites or a Peierls subband model for nearly free electrons.  相似文献

The hydrogen permeability of titanium of grades VT1-00 and VT1-0 and of titanium iodide is investigated under saturation from glow-discharge plasma and in the cathodic process of the sulfuric acid electrolyte. A modified electrochemical method for investigating the hydrogen permeability of titanium at room temperature is proposed.
