证明了在加外电场的光折变晶体中存在非对称全息空间光孤子对,其特征是孤子对中的两个 孤子具有相同的宽度、不同的振幅.给出了这种孤子对的存在曲线,其中存在三个具有不同 特征的区域:对于给定的外加电场来说,当孤子对中两个孤子的入射峰值强度之和与背景光 强度之比足够大或者足够小时,孤子宽度强烈依赖于这个比值,而在此中间的一段区域,孤 子宽度几乎不随这个比值而变化.非对称情况下这个中间区域的范围比对称情况的窄.

对外加电场光折变有机聚合物串联回路中独立空间孤子对进行了理论研究,导出了在光折变有机聚合物串联回路中两光束传播的耦合方程,证明了串联回路中存在暗-暗、明-暗和明-明三种独立空间孤子对.在光束的空间展宽远小于有机聚合物宽度的极限条件下,暗-暗孤子对之间孤子入射光强的改变可相互影响到对方的包络和动态演化.对于明-暗孤子对,暗孤子通过光电流能影响明孤子,但明孤子不能影响暗孤子.明-明孤子对之间没有影响.

利用一维稳态光折变空间光孤子的统一理论,研究了负载电阻对屏蔽、光伏和屏蔽光伏明孤子自偏转特性的影响。结果表明,无论加载电阻与否,这三种类型的光折变明孤子具有类似的自偏转特性,即孤子波沿一个抛物线轨迹运动。调节负载电阻可以改变孤子的偏转幅度,其中屏蔽光伏明孤子的可调范围最大。 相似文献

Spatial solitons permit optical waveguiding. This holds true for the soliton write beam (i.e. the driving laser beam), as well as for additional probe beams, which may carry optically encoded information. This feature of spatial solitons is of significant interest for applications in optical telecommunication. We present systematic experimental investigations on single and multiple spatial solitons in the infrared spectral regime (i.e. around optical telecommunication wavelengths), applied as controllable all-optical devices. In particular, we present the implementations of a Y-coupler as an optical signal divider, a switchable Y-coupler as an optical add multiplexer, and a novel design for a 1 × 3 optical beam switch, i.e. applied as a router for infrared signal beams. We report large waveguiding efficiencies up to 40% and transmission rates of 90 Tbit/s in our setups. The presented experimental data are confirmed by numerical simulations. 相似文献

We investigate (1+1D) spatial optical solitons embedded in a fixed-volume grating in centrosymmetric photorefractive crystals. We numerically identify a two-parameter soliton family and deduce both its existence surface and soliton profiles. For shallow gratings, the soliton Fourier spectrum exhibits three lobes located at the reciprocal lattice points -K, 0, and K. Soliton trapping is a consequence of both the self-induced nonlinear waveguide and the grating reflectivity, which prevents the breakaway of the lateral components. To provide a preliminary evaluation of soliton stability, we also investigate the propagation of slightly perturbed soliton profiles. 相似文献

We analyze the effects of additional terms in the nonlinear Schr?dinger equation for spatial solitons, directly derived from the Maxwell's equations with the Kerr nonlinearity, on the shapes of bright and dark solitons with a fixed polarization. Combining analytical and numerical methods, we find that the additional terms always render the solitons broader. The most essential result is a fundamental limitation on the width of the subwavelength soliton: The ratio of the FWHM of the bright soliton to the wavelength cannot be smaller than 1/2, and the same ratio for the FWHM of the dark soliton cannot be smaller than 1/4. 相似文献

A class of optical spatial solitons exhibiting propagation in a closed-loop orbit in a two-dimensional plane is presented. A closed-form particlelike model is derived, indicating that the quasi-centrifugal force acting on these solitons can be balanced by an inhomogeneity in the nonlinear index of refraction. Specifically, a circular-shaped nonlinear interface is shown to facilitate stable orbital propagation of solitons that carve their own circular cavity for a wide range of nonlinearity parameters. 相似文献

Quadratic spatial solitons, beams that propagate unchanged in shape and magnitude, are supported by second order optical nonlinearities and can occur in all wave mixing processes under appropriate conditions. They are multi-component, consisting of all the frequency components that are coupled by a second order nonlinear interaction near a phase-matching condition. They have been observed in a number of bulk crystalline media, in LiNbO3 slab waveguides and in arrays of parallel, weakly coupled, LiNbO3 channel waveguides. We numerically and experimentally report the observation of slow-light spatial solitons in a Kerr medium owing to light amplification by stimulated Raman scattering. This was achieved in a CS2 nonlinear planar waveguide that possesses both a strong self-focusing nonlinearity to generate the spatial Raman soliton and a Raman susceptibility sharp enough to induce the slow-light process simultaneously. We show that the Raman Stokes component is optically delayed by more than 120 ps for a 140 ps Raman pulse duration and only 3 cm of propagation length, while propagating as a spatial soliton beam. 相似文献
