On the last day of 2014, the newly completed second accelerator of the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center (NSRRC), Taiwan Photon Source (TPS), delivered its first synchrotron light in the early afternoon. The electron beam energy of the TPS circulating in the storage ring has reached the design value of 3 GeV, and the stored beam current has achieved over 5 mA, marking a significant milestone for Taiwan's new synchrotron light source. After nearly five years of construction and development efforts in full scale, the successful commissioning of TPS will forever change the course of scientific research in Taiwan.  相似文献

叙述了中国科学技术大学国家同步辐射实验室800 MeV电子储存环同步辐射的特性及作为光谱辐射亮度基准的原理和方法,精确计算出同步辐射光源光谱功率空间分布,并在计量学上将同步辐射“经典”理论与标定氘灯光谱辐射亮度结合起来,对“同步辐射作为标准源进行光谱辐射功率计量”进行深入的研究。介绍了国家同步辐射实验室计量光束线站的装置,该装置利用同步辐射波长范围宽、亮度高、辐射特性可精确计算等特点,可用于标定传递标准氘灯的光谱辐射亮度(115~350 nm),并进行了不确定度分析。并与德国技术物理研究院(PTB)标定的氘灯光谱辐射亮度进行比较,两者符合。  相似文献

介绍了利用北京同步辐射光源测量闪烁体荧光时间结构特性的新方法.并用此方法测量了纯BaF2、CeF3晶体和粉晶样品及掺La3+、Ce3+的BaF2晶体时间衰减谱.对BaF2掺稀土元素的测量结果表明,La3+和De3+的掺入对BaF2时间衰减慢成分均有一定的抑制作用,但从理论上分析两种掺杂对慢成分的抑制机制并不相同.  相似文献

Although natural synchrotron radiation from charged particles spiraling around magnetic-field lines in space is as old as the stars—for example, the light we see from the Crab Nebula—short-wavelength synchrotron radiation generated by relativistic electrons in circular accelerators is a modern phenomenon. The first observation—literally, since it was visible light that was seen—came at the General Electric Research Laboratory in Schenectady, New York, on April 24, 1947. In the 68 years since, synchrotron radiation has become a premier research tool for the study of matter in all its varied manifestations, as facilities around the world constantly evolved to provide this light in ever more useful forms.  相似文献

The electron beam size of the 2.5-GeV storage ring of the Kurchatov Synchrotron Radiation Source was measured using a fixed edge screen. The obtained vertical beam size of 190 μm and the corresponding calculated value of 198 μm (for 2% betatron coupling) almost coincide within the experimental error.  相似文献

Synchrotron radiation activities in China date back to the late 1970s. With the large increase of investment in science by the Chinese central government to promote the development of science and technology in China, quite a few large scientific projects were proposed by the scientific community, among which were Beijing Electron-Positron Collider (BEPC) and Hefei Synchrotron Radiation Light Source (HLS). The major aim of BEPC was for the studies of high energy particle physics with a parasitic synchrotron radiation facility, i.e., the so-called Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility (BSRF). It started operation in 1991 and became the first synchrotron radiation facility in China. As a parasitic facility, BSRF operated a few months a year and played an important role in fostering the synchrotron radiation user community in China. The HLS, a dedicated synchrotron radiation facility, came into operation almost at the same time as BSRF. As a lower energy synchrotron radiation facility, it aimed mostly at the applications of synchrotron radiation VUV wavelength range. Both BSRF and HLS were upgraded again due to strong demands from users. The rapid development of synchrotron radiation applications and facilities in the world in the 1980s and early 1990s spurred the great interest of Chinese scientists to build an advanced synchrotron radiation light source. A third generation light source was first proposed in mainland China in 1993 and was later shaped as the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF) in 1995.  相似文献

What is mesoscale science? The modifier “meso” can mean different things to different communities. In many areas of science, “mesoscale” generally refers to a middle-ground domain of length, energy, or time where theories accurate at both lower and higher scales fail. In materials science, for example, mesoscale behavior often rises when quantum behavior begins to fade, collective effects become important, or statistical variation and defects appear, often at length scales larger than a few nm. However, for atmospheric scientists and ecologists, mesoscale means miles. For meterologists, mesoscale means hundreds to thousands of miles. The fourth meeting on the use of Synchrotron Radiation in Polymer Science (SRPS) was held in Rolduc Abbey, the Netherlands, from September 8 to 11, 2009. This was a continuation of a topical series that was started by H.G. Zachmann, one of the pioneers of the use of synchrotron radiation techniques in polymer science. Earlier meetings were held in Hamburg (1995), Sheffield (2002), and Kyoto (2006). The meeting was organized as a satellite to SAS 2009, which took place the following week in Oxford. The meeting was co-organized by the polymer groups of Leuven University (Belgium) and Eindhoven University of Technology (Netherlands), as well as the DUBBLE beam line (ESRF/NWO/FWO).  相似文献

In the late 1950s, a 6 GeV electron synchrotron (the CEA) was being built at Harvard/MIT. Polyurethane (PU) and polystyrene (PS) films were functionalized by ultraviolet (UV) or selective synchrotron radiations (SR) in the presence of reactive gases. The UV-PU results were compared with lowpressure plasma treatments of the same films. Oxygen or acrylic acid vapours (AA) were used as reactive gases. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurements of UV modified films in the presence of oxygen or AA matched the RF-plasma treatments results. It is shown that COO and C=O functional groups were incorporated at the polymer surface efficiently with both methodologies. In addition, near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure showed that a thin film of poly(acrylic acid) is formed over the PU and PS films during the UV irradiation in the presence of AA vapours. These results resemble previous AA low-power plasma treatments. PU and PS films were also selectively functionalized by SR using oxygen as reactive gas. Surface concentrations of COO and C=O functional groups were enhanced by C1s σ* C–C excitation after irradiation and oxygen introduction. This efficient surface functionalization was clearly observed in PS films which do not have CO and COO groups in their molecular structure. Excitations involving transitions to π* orbital (π*C=C, π*C=O) led to much lower functionalization efficiency. The SR results can be explained by taking into account previous photon stimulated ion desorption studies of polymers. SR results may open new ways to functionalize polymer surfaces selectively and efficiently.  相似文献
