Consider the flag-transitive 2-(v, k, λ) symmetric designs with (k, λ) = 1. We prove that if D is a nontrivial 2-(v, k, λ) symmetric design with (k, λ) = 1 and G≤Aut(D) is flag-transitive with Soc(G) = An for n≥5, then D is the projective space PG2(3,2) and G = A7.  相似文献

We consider a new problem, the Kth best valued assignment problem. Given a bipartite graph G and a cost vector w on its edge set, this is the problem of finding a perfect matching Mk in G such that there exist perfect matchings M1,…,MK−1 satisfying w(M1) < < w(MK−1) < w(MK), and w(MK) < w(M) for all perfect matchings M with w(M) ≠ w(M1),…,w(MK). Here w(M) denotes the sum of costs of edges in M. In this paper, we propose two algorithms for solving this problem and verify the efficiency of our algorithms by our preliminary computational experiments.  相似文献

Let M be a 2n-dimensional closed unitary manifold with a Tn−1-action with only isolated fixed points. In this paper, we first prove that the equivariant cobordism class of a unitary Tn−1-manifold M is just determined by the equivariant Chern numbers cωTn1[M],where ω= (i1, i2, ..., i6) are the multi-indexes for all i1, i2, ..., i6. Then we show that if Mdoes not bound equivariantly, then the number of fixed points is greater than or equal to n/6+1, where n/6 denotes the minimum integer no less than n/6.  相似文献

Let Mbe a monoid. A ring Ris called M-π-Armendariz if whenever α = a1g1+ a2g2+ · · · + angn, β = b1h1+ b2h2+ · · · + bmhmR[M] satisfy αβ ∈ nil(R[M]), then aibj ∈ nil(R) for all i, j. A ring R is called weakly 2-primal if the set of nilpotent elements in R coincides with its Levitzki radical. In this paper, we consider some extensions of M-π-Armendariz rings and further investigate their properties under the condition that R is weakly 2-primal. We prove that if R is an M-π-Armendariz ring then nil(R[M]) = nil(R)[M]. Moreover, we study the relationship between the weak zip-property (resp., weak APP-property, nilpotent p.p.-property, weak associated prime property) of a ring R and that of the monoid ring R[M] in case R is M-π-Armendariz.  相似文献

The first Zagreb index M1(G) is equal to the sum of squares of the degrees of the vertices, and the second Zagreb index M2(G) is equal to the sum of the products of the degrees of pairs of adjacent vertices of the underlying molecular graph G. In this paper, we obtain lower and upper bounds on the first Zagreb index M1(G) of G in terms of the number of vertices (n), number of edges (m), maximum vertex degree (Δ), and minimum vertex degree (δ). Using this result, we find lower and upper bounds on M2(G). Also, we present lower and upper bounds on M2(G) +M2(G) in terms of n, m, Δ, and δ, where G denotes the complement of G. Moreover, we determine the bounds on first Zagreb coindex M1(G) and second Zagreb coindex M2(G). Finally, we give a relation between the first Zagreb index and the second Zagreb index of graph G.  相似文献

Let πi :EiM, i=1,2, be oriented, smooth vector bundles of rank k over a closed, oriented n-manifold with zero sections si :MEi. Suppose that U is an open neighborhood of s1(M) in E1 and F :UE2 a smooth embedding so that π2Fs1 :MM is homotopic to a diffeomorphism f. We show that if k>[(n+1)/2]+1 then E1 and the induced bundle f*E2 are isomorphic as oriented bundles provided that f have degree +1; the same conclusion holds if f has degree −1 except in the case where k is even and one of the bundles does not have a nowhere-zero cross-section. For n≡0(4) and [(n+1)/2]+1<kn we give examples of nonisomorphic oriented bundles E1 and E2 of rank k over a homotopy n-sphere with total spaces diffeomorphic with orientation preserved, but such that E1 and f*E2 are not isomorphic oriented bundles. We obtain similar results and counterexamples in the more difficult limiting case where k=[(n+1)/2]+1 and M is a homotopy n-sphere.  相似文献

Every closed nanorientable 3-manifold M can be obtained as the union of three orientable handlebodies V1, V2, V3 whose interiors are pairwise disjoint. If gi denotes the genus of Vi, g1g2g3, we say that M has tri-genus (g1, g2, g3), if in terms of lexicographical ordering, the triple (g1, g2, g3) is minimal among all such decompositions of M into orientable handlebodies. We relate the tri-genus of M to the genus of a surface that represents the dual of the first Stiefel-Whitney class of M. This is used to determine g1 and g2.  相似文献

The pair S=(a1,...,am; b1,...,bn) is said to be a bigraphic pair if there is a simple bipartite graph G=(XY, E) such that a1,...,am and b1,...,bn are the degrees of the vertices in X and Y, respectively. Let Z3 be the cyclic group of order 3. Define σ(Z3, m, n) to be the minimum integer k such that every bigraphic pair S=(a1,...,am; b1,...,bn) with am, bn ≥ 2 and σ(S)=a1 +... + amk has a Z3-connected realization. For n=m, Yin[Discrete Math., 339, 2018-2026 (2016)] recently determined the values of σ(Z3, m, m) for m ≥ 4. In this paper, we completely determine the values of σ(Z3, m, n) for m n ≥ 4.  相似文献

Let Pn be a simple n-polytope with a Z2-characteristic function λ. And h is a Morse function over Pn. Then the small cover Mn(λ) corresponding to the pair (Pn, λ) has a cell structure given by h. From this cell structure we can derive a cellular chain complex of Mn(λ) with integer coefficients. In this paper, firstly, we discuss the highest dimensional boundary morphism n of this cellular chain complex and get that n=0 or 2 by a natural way. And then, from the well-known result that the submanifold corresponding to (F, λF) is naturally a small cover with dimension k, where F is any k-face of Pn and λF is the restriction of λ on F, we get that k=0 or ±2 for 0 ≤ k < n. Finally, by using the definition of inherited characteristic function which is the restriction of λ on the faces of Pn, we get a way to calculate the homology groups of Mn(λ). Applying our result to a 3-small cover we have that the homology groups of any 3-small cover is torsion-free or has only 2-torsion.  相似文献

Suppose G is a graph. The chromatic Ramsey number rc(G) of G is the least integer m such that there exists a graph F of chromatic number m for which the following is true: for any 2-colouring of the edges of F there is a monochromatic subgraph isomorphic to G. Let Mn = min[rc(G): χ(G) = n]. It was conjectured by Burr et al. (1976) that Mn = (n − 1)2 + 1. This conjecture has been confirmed previously for n 4. In this paper, we shall prove that the conjecture is true for n = 5. We shall also improve the upper bounds for M6 and M7.  相似文献

(Combinatorics, Graph Theory and Algorithms, Vol. 1, 1999, pp. 387–400) considered a variation of the classical Turán-type extremal problems as follows: For a given graph H, determine the smallest even integer σ(H,n) such that every n-term graphic sequence π=(d1,d2,…,dn) with term sum σ(π)=d1+d2++dnσ(H,n) has a realization G containing H as a subgraph. In this paper, for given integers k and ℓ, ℓ7 and 3kℓ, we completely determine the smallest even integer σ(kC,n) such that each n-term graphic sequence π=(d1,d2,…,dn) with term sum σ(π)=d1+d2++dnσ(kC,n) has a realization G containing a cycle of length r for each r, krℓ.  相似文献

A collection F of 3-connected matroids is triangle-rounded if, whenever M is a 3-connected matroid having a minor in F, and T is a 3-element circuit of M, then M has a minor which uses T and is isomorphic to a member of F. An efficient theorem for testing a collection of matroids for this property is presented. This test is used to obtain several results including the following extension of a result of Asano, Nishizeki, and Seymour. Let T be a 3-element circuit of a 3-connected binary nonregular matroid M with at least eight elements. Then M has a minor using T that is isomorphic to S8 or the generalized parallel connection across T of F7 and M(K4).  相似文献

It is well known that the formal power series ∑n = 0 (dimkAnn is of the form (h0 + h1λ + + hsλs)/(1 − λ)dimA with each hiε . We are interested in the sequence (h0, h1,…,hs), called the h-vector of A, when A is a Cohen–Macaulay integral domain. In this paper, after summarizing fundamental results (Section 1), we study h-vectors of certain Gorenstein domains (Section 2) and find some examples of h-vectors arising from integrally closed level domains (Sections 3 and 4).  相似文献

In this article, we solve some word equations originated from discrete dynamical systems related to antisymmetric cubic map. These equations emerge when we work with primitive and greatest words. The usual construction of (v,q+1,1)−BIBD's from vector spaces over GF(q) is generalized to the class of near vector spaces over GF(q). It is shown that every (v,q+1,1)−BIBD can be constructed from a near vector space over GF(q). Some corollaries are: Given a (v1,q+1,1)−BIBD P1,B1 and a (v2,q+1,1)−BIBD P2,B2, there is a ((q−1)v1v2+v1+v2,q+1,1)−BIBD P3,B3 containing P1,B1 and P2,B2 as disjoint subdesigns. If there is a (v,q+1,1)−BIBD then there is a ((q−1)v+1,q,1)−BIBD. Every finite partial (v,q,1)−BIBD can be embedded in a finite (v′,q+1,1)−BIBD.  相似文献
