On the injectivity of twisted spherical means on ℂ n

In this paper we study the injectivity and injectivity sets for the twisted spherical means on ℂ ⁿ . These results are then used to study the same problems on the reduced Hiesenberg group.     

L ∞ — Decay estimations of the spherical mean value on symmetric spaces

LetM _t[](x) be the spherical mean value operator applied to a function on a symmetric Riemannian space of the non-compact type.L —decay estimations forM _t [](x) as well as for its derivatives with respect to (t, x) are given, provided that belongs to a Banach space with suitable weighted supremum norm. This leads to estimates of the solutions to the wave equation in certain cases in which Huygens' principle is valid.     

Generalized multi-resolution analyses and a construction procedure for all wavelet sets in ℝn

An abstract formulation of generalized multiresolution analyses is presented, and those GMRAs that come from multiwavelets are characterized. As an application of this abstract formulation, a constructive procedure is developed, which produces all wavelet sets in ⁿ relative to an integral expansive matrix.     

Measures and their dimension spectrums for cookie-cutter sets in ℝd

The characteristics of cookie-cutter sets in ℝ^d are investigated. A Bowen's formula for the Hausdorff dimension of a cookie-cutter set in terms of the pressure function is derived. The existence of self-similar measures, conformal measures and Gibbs measures on cookie-cutter sets is proved. The dimension spectrum of each of these measures is analyzed. In addition, the locally uniformly α-dimensional condition and the fractal Plancherel Theorem for these measures are shown. Finally, the existence of order-two density for the Hausdorff measure of a cookie-cutter set is proved. This project is supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.     

Pullback attractors for non-autonomous reaction-diffusion equations on ℝ n

We study the long time behavior of solutions of the non-autonomous reaction-diffusion equation defined on the entire space ℝ ⁿ when external terms are unbounded in a phase space. The existence of a pullback global attractor for the equation is established in L ²(ℝ ⁿ ) and H ¹(ℝ ⁿ ), respectively. The pullback asymptotic compactness of solutions is proved by using uniform a priori estimates on the tails of solutions outside bounded domains.

Classes of functions subharmonic in ℝm and bounded on certain sets

Let Z_j be the Euclidean space of vectors \((z_{j,1,...,} z_{j_{j \cdot n_j + 1} } ), Z = \mathop \oplus \limits_{j = 1}^P Z_j\) . The function u: Z → ?₊, u ?0, is said to be logarithmically p-subharmonic if log u(z) is upper semicontinuous with respect to the totality of the variables and subharmonic or identically equal to ?∞ with respect to each z_j when the remaining ones are fixed. For such functions, with the growth estimate $$log u(z) \leqslant \delta \mathop \Pi \limits_{j = 1}^P (1 + |z_{j,n_j + 1} |) + N(\mathop {\sum\limits_{\mathop {1 \leqslant j \leqslant p}\limits_{} } {z_{j,k}^2 } }\limits_{1 \leqslant k \leqslant n_j } )^{1/2} + C; \delta ,N \geqslant 0, C \in \mathbb{R}$$ one proves theorems on equivalence of^∞) (L_q)-norms of their restrictions to \(X = \mathop \oplus \limits_{j = 1}^P (Z_{j,1} ,...,z_{j,n_j } )\) and to a relatively dense subset of it, generalizing the known Cartwright and Plancherel-Pólya results.     

Fixed point sets for abstract volterra operators on fréchet spaces

In this present article the topological of the solution ser for abstract Volterra equations is studied both in Banach spaces and in Fréchet spaces. It is shown that the solution set for certain nonlinear abstract Volterra equations in the Fréchet spaces C[0,∞) and L^p _loc[0,∞) (l≤p≤∞) are R_δ sets. Applications of the main results to nonlinear classical integral equations are given     

Anisotropic Meshless Frames on ℝ n

We present a construction of anisotropic multiresolution and anisotropic wavelet frames based on multilevel ellipsoid covers (dilations) of ℝ ⁿ . The wavelets we construct are C ^∞ functions, can have any prescribed number of vanishing moments and fast decay with respect to the anisotropic quasi-distance induced by the cover. The dual wavelets are also C ^∞, with the same number of vanishing moments, but with only mild decay with respect to the quasi-distance. An alternative construction yields a meshless frame whose elements do not have vanishing moments, but do have fast anisotropic decay.     

Almost complex structures on quaternion-Kähler manifolds and inner symmetric spaces

We prove that compact quaternionic-Kähler manifolds of positive scalar curvature admit no almost complex structure, even in the weak sense, except for the complex Grassmannians Gr₂(?ⁿ⁺²). We also prove that irreducible inner symmetric spaces M ⁴ⁿ of compact type are not weakly complex, except for spheres and Hermitian symmetric spaces.     

Uncertainty principle and Lp–Lq-sufficient pairs on noncompact real symmetric spaces

We consider a real semi-simple Lie group G with finite center and a maximal compact sub-group K of G. Let $\text{G=K}\text{exp}\text{(}\text{a}{}_{\mathrm{+}}\text{)K}$ be a Cartan decomposition of G. For x∈G denote ∥x∥ the norm of the $\text{a}{}_{\mathrm{+}}$-component of x in the Cartan decomposition of G. Let $\text{a>0,}\text{b>0}$ and 1?p,q?∞. In this Note we give necessary and sufficient conditions on $\text{a,}\text{b}$ such that for all K-bi-invariant measurable function f on G, if e^a∥x∥2f∈L^p(G) and then f=0 almost everywhere. On Ω-closed sets and Ωs-closed sets in topological spaces

Summary New classes of sets called -closed sets and s-closed sets are introduced and studied. Also, we introduce and study -continuous functions and s-continuous functions and prove pasting lemma for these functions. Moreover, we introduce classes of topological spaces -T_1/2 and -T_s.     

Hausdorff dimension of Lebesgue sets for W α p classes on metric spaces

Let (X, μ, d) be a space of homogeneous type, where d and p are a metric and a measure, respectively, related to each other by the doubling condition with γ > 0. Let W _α ^p (X) be generalized Sobolev classes, let Cap_{α p} (where p > 1 and 0 < α ≤ 1) be the corresponding capacity, and let dim_H be the Hausdorff dimension. We show that the capacity Cap_{α p} is related to the Hausdorff dimension; we also prove that, for each function u ∈ W _α/p (X), p > 1, 0 < a < γ/p, there exists a set E ? Tingley’s problem on symmetric absolute normalized norms on ℝ 2

In this paper,we study Tingley＇s problem on symmetric absolute normalized norms on R^2.We construct new methods for Tingley＇s problem on two-dimensional spaces by using isosceles orthogonality,which does not make use of the notion of natural extension.Furthermore,using our methods,several sufficient conditions for Tingley＇s problem on symmetric absolute normalized norms on R2 are given.As applications,we present various new examples including the two-dimensional Lorentz sequence space d^（2）（ω,q） and its dual d^（2）（ω,q）＊by simple arguments.     

Extended symmetric spaces and θ-twisted involution graphs

Abstract

For a Weyl group G and an automorphism θ of order 2, the set of involutions and θ-twisted involutions can be generated by considering actions by basis elements, creating a poset structure on the elements. Haas and Helminck showed that there is a relationship between these sets and their Bruhat posets. We extend that result by considering other bases and automorphisms. We show for G = S_n, θ an involution, and any basis consisting of transpositions, the extended symmetric space is generated by a similar algorithm. Moreover, there is an isomorphism of the poset graphs for certain bases and θ.     

K-loops and Bruck loops on ℝ×ℝ

Using the function (x)=cosh x, K-loops on × are constructed. Since every K-loop is a Bruck loop, we have also examples for Bruck loops.
