A theoretical method for analyzing the axisymmetric plane strain elastodynamic problem of a non-homogeneous orthotropic hollow cylinder is developed. Firstly, a new dependent variable is introduced to rewrite the governing equation, the boundary conditions and the initial conditions. Secondly, a special function is introduced to transform the inhomogeneous boundary conditions to homogeneous ones. By virtue of the orthogonal expansion technique, the equation with respect to the time variable is derived, of which the solution can be obtained. The displacement solution is finally obtained, which can be degenerated in a rather straightforward way into the solution for a homogeneous orthotropic hollow cylinder and isotropic solid cylinder as well as that for a non-homogeneous isotropic hollow cylinder. Using the present method, integral transform can be avoided and it can be used for hollow cylinders with arbitrary thickness and subjected to arbitrary dynamic loads. Numerical results are presented for a non-homogeneous orthotropic hollow cylinder subjected to dynamic internal pressure. 基于轴对称平面应变问题的运动方程及弹性梯度材料的应力和位移关系,通过将圆筒分层使材料性质离散为分段常数函数,同时在时域内应用有限差分格式,求得了材料性质沿径向梯度变化的圆筒弹性动力学解。本文解不仅适合任意梯度的弹性圆筒,而且容易满足多种形式的初始条件和边界条件。通过对材料性质沿径向为连续函数分布和分段函数分布的梯度圆筒数值分析,并与已有文献结果比较,得出本文解与已有文献的解吻合较好,验证了本文解的正确性和有效性。对材料性质为分段函数的三层组合圆筒分析发现,中间功能梯度层的指数分布因子对圆筒的径向位移和应力随时间变化都会产生显著影响。  相似文献

The static equilibrium of an elastic orthotropic medium with an elliptic crack subject, on its surface, to linearly varying pressure is studied. The stress state of the elastic medium is represented as a superposition of the principal and perturbed states. Use is made of Willis’ approach based on the triple Fourier transform in spatial variables, the Fourier-transformed Green’s function for an anisotropic material, and Cauchy’s residue theorem. The contour integrals are evaluated using Gaussian quadratures. The results for particular cases are compared with those obtained by other authors. All metallic, hollow sandwich cylinders having ultralight two-dimensional (2D) prismatic cores are optimally designed for maximum thermo-mechanical performance at minimum mass. The heated cylinder is subjected to uniform internal pressure and actively cooled by forced air convection. The use of two different core topologies is exploited: square- and triangular-celled cores. The minimum mass design model is so defined that three failure modes are prevented: facesheet yielding, core member yielding, and core member buckling. The intersection-of-asymptotes method, in conjunction with the fin analogy model, is employed to build the optimization model for maximum heat transfer rate. A non-dimensional parameter is introduced to couple the two objectives—structural and thermal—in a single cost function. It is found that the geometry corresponding to maximum heat transfer rate is not unique, and square-celled core sandwich cylinders outperform those having triangular cells. The eight-layered sandwich cylinders with square cells have the best overall performance in comparison with other core topologies. Whilst a sandwich cylinder with shorter length is preferred for enhanced thermo-mechanical performance, the influence of the outer radius of the cylinder is rather weak.  相似文献

The effect of magnetic field on the plane vibrations for an elastodynamic orthotropic sphere is studied. Equations of elastodynamic problems of the orthotropic hollow sphere in terms of displacement are solved. The numerical results of the frequency equations in the presence of magnetic field are discussed and shown graphically. Compar-isons are made with the result in the presence and absence of magnetic field in the case of orthotropic sphere. The results show that the effect of magnetic field is very pronounced.  相似文献

The spatial stress state in a circular plastic zone near an elliptic crack under bi-and tri-axial asymmetric loading at infinity is studied. It is shown that the plastic constraint factor peaks at the points with maximum external tensile tangential stresses on the crack boundary. An elastodynamic solution for plane-strain response of functionally graded thick hollow cylinders subjected to uniformly-distributed dynamic pressures at boundary surfaces is presented. The material properties, except Poisson’s ratio, are assumed to vary through the thickness according to a power law function. To achieve an exact solution, the dynamic radial displacement is divided into two quasi-static and dynamic parts, and for each part, an analytical solution is derived. The quasi-static solution is obtained by means of Euler’s equation, and the dynamic solution is derived using the method of the separation of variables and the orthogonal expansion technique. The radial displacement and stress distributions are plotted for various functionally graded material (FGM) hollow cylinders under different dynamic loads, and the advantages of the presented method are discussed. The proposed analytical solution is suitable for analyzing various arrangements of hollow FGM cylinders with arbitrary thickness and arbitrary initial conditions, which are subjected to arbitrary forms of dynamic pressures distributed uniformly on their boundary surfaces.  相似文献

Exact solutions are obtained for transient torsio- nal responses of a finitely long, functionally graded hollow cylinder under three different end conditions, i.e. free-free, free-fixed and fixed-fixed. The cylinder with its external surface fixed is subjected to a dynamic shearing stress at the internal surface. The material properties are assumed to vary in the radial direction in a power law form, while keep invariant in the axial direction. With expansion in the axial direction in terms of trigonometric series, the governing equations for the unknown functions about the radial coordinate r and time t are deduced. By applying the variable substitution technique, the superposition method and the separation of variables consecutively, series-form solutions of the equations are obtained. Natural frequencies and the transient torsional responses are finally discussed for a functionally graded finite hollow cylinder.  相似文献

The theoretical study of the control of stress is developed for a rotating infinite hollow multilayered radially polarized piezoelectric cylinder. The exact solution is obtained by means of the state-space method. As an illustrative example, the distribution of the radial and tangential stresses in a rotating hollow internally pressurized five-layered piezoelectric cylinder subjected to different electric potential at the internal and external surfaces are performed. Numerical results show that the distribution of the stress can be controlled by applying appropriate electric potentials at the correct surfaces.  相似文献
