The first theoretical investigation of the amplitudes of the narrow band current oscillations generated by sliding charge density waves is given using the stochastic classical model with a current noise source. In contrast to the classical model without fluctuations, the power spectrum S(ω) of the current-current correlation function has finite peaks S2n and non- vanishing line widths Γn near ω = nωosc where ωosc is the fundamental frequency of the current oscillations. For weak current noise, analytical expressions for sn and Γn are given which agree with the exact numerical treatment of S(ω) using the Fokker-Planck approach. The results are in accord with the observed asymptotic decrease of the fundamental amplitude s1 with increasing d.c. bias. They also confirm the validity of the weak noise limit for sliding charge density waves.  相似文献

We present a theory for the electron-temperature dependence T el of optical second harmonic generation (SHG). Such an analysis is required to study the dynamics of metallic systems with many hot electrons not at equilibrium with the lattice. Using a tight-binding theory for the nonlinear susceptibility χ (2)(ω,T e1) and the Fresnel coefficients we present results for the SHG intensity I (2)(ω,T e1) and its dependence on T el for Cu. Note, χ (2)(ω,T e1) rather than the Fresnel coefficients determines essentially this temperature dependence. Most interestingly we find frequency ranges where I (2)(ω,T e1) increases for small light intensities, while it decreases for large light intensities. Our theory yields also that SHG probes effects due to hot electrons more sensitively than linear optics. The results of our calculations are compared with recent experiments on Cu and Au.  相似文献

The effect of weak anti-localization, electron interactions and superconducting fluctuations on the transport properties of disorder Nb0.53Ti0.47-Ge multilayers were studied. The temperature dependence of the inelastic scattering time was found to be τinT−1±0.25 and τinT−1.75±0.25 for temperatures lower and higher than ∼ 6K, repectively for a sample with thick Ge layers. The effect of the Ge thickness on the prefacter A in the expression R□ ∼ ln T may arise from an interlayer electron-phonon process.  相似文献

In its simple form, the relaxation time of the Néel relaxation process of the magnetic moment of single-domain particles is given by τN0Nexp(σ), σ being the ratio of anisotropy energy to thermal energy. The pre-factor, τ0N, is normally given a value of 10−9 s, but values ranging from 10−8 to 10−12 s have been reported in literature. Here, by means of the field and frequency dependence of the complex magnetic susceptibility, χ(ω,H)′(ω,H)−iχ″(ω,H), of a magnetic fluid sample, in the MHz-GHz range, in conjunction with the determination of the sample decay function, b(t), the pre-factor τ0N is determined. b(t) is readily obtained through the inverse Fourier transformation relationship, which exists between b(t) and χ″(ω).  相似文献

The correlation function formula for the dynamic conductivity of a system of non-interacting electrons in the field of impurities is analyzed in terms of proper connected diagrams. By selecting those diagrams appropriate in the region of weak coupling and low impurity concentration, a set of coupled equations for the energy broadening γ (ω, ε, ns) and the energy shift Δ(ω, ε, ns) is derived, where both γ and Δ depend on the frequency ω of a probing field, the energy ε of the electron, and the concentration, ng, of impurities. With the assumption of a finite range potential, these equations are solved. It is found that γ (ω, ns) is smaller than that extrapolated value which the conventional expression γ0 for the low-concentration collision frequency would predict, in the entire region studied, that the difference γ0-γ becomes appreciable when the ratio of the average time between scatterings, τc, to the average duration of a scattering, τd, is 100 or less, that γ (ω, ns) decreases monotonically from its static value γ (0, ns), and becomes vanishingly small in the region ω≈1/τd, and that in the static limit (ω=0), γ=γ0[1?(2/π) (γ0τd)+…], that the energy shift Δ is positive, and increases from 0 and reach a peak of magnitude γ0 as ω is raised from 0. By using the γ and Δ obtained, the dynamic conductivity σ(ω, ns) for degenerated electrons is calculated. The deviation, σ-σ0, from the conventional expression σ0=(?i) (nee2/M) [ω-iΓ0]?1, (ne]=number density of electrons), for 0°K, is appreciable when the ratio τcd is 100 or less. The field-term correction, which arises from the modification of the scattering due to the probing field, is found to be negligible in the entire region studied.  相似文献

We have searched for the decay τvτηπ using data accumulated by the ARGUS detector at the e+e storage ring DORIS II at DESY. No η signal was found in the π+ππ0 subsystems of the decay τvτπππ+ π0. We obtain an upper limit for the branching ratio of the decay τvτηπ of 1.3% at the 95% confidence level.  相似文献

Ultrasonic attenuation experiments have been performed using 15–255 MHz longitudinal sound waves along the c-axis of single crystal holmium. Without an external magnetic field, the attenuation increases in the spin-spiral state. This anomalous increase originates, at least in part, from the spin-phonon relaxation mechanism we have proposed, which states that the attenuation coefficient Δα1ω2/(1+ω2τ2) where τ is the longitudinal spin phonon relaxation time. The frequency dependence of the attenuation varies from ω1·0 to ω1·5 which suggests a frequency-dependent character for the spin-phonon relaxation time τ. A broad longitudinal attenuation maximum, which presumably is due to the competing processes between S¯, J and τ, is observed in the spin-spiral state, where S¯ is the thermal average of the spin angular momentum per trivalent ion and J the Fourier transform of the exchange integral. An anomalous suppression of the longitudinal attenuation spike at TN for frequencies higher than 165 MHz is unexplainable at present. The longitudinal spin-phonon relaxation time for Ho has been determined using experimental data. It has a T?3 temperature dependence. The dielectric response of pure KCN crystals (ε′, ε″ and tg σ) has been measured as a function of temperature in the frequency range 10−2 Hz to 104 Hz. In the antiferroelectric phase the width of the loss peak are found practically independent of temperature (1.4 decades) and close to a Debye behavior; the relaxation time of the CN dipoles is characterized by an Arrhenius behavior τ = τ0 exp (U/KT) with τ0 = 7.26 × 10−15s and U = 0, 147 eV confirming a classical temperature activated reorientation of the dipoles.  相似文献

The rotational constants of the B 1 state of indium iodide are reported for the first time as Be = 0.037533 cm−1 and αe = 0.000289 cm−1 while Te = 25050.60 cm−1 for the B1-X0+ transition. Data collected with the High Resolution Spectrometer at PEP, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 200 pb−1 of e+e annihilation at 29 GeV, were used to measure the mean lifetime of hadrons containing the bottom quark. The lifetime was determined using the impact parameter method on events containing a high-transverse-momentum electron. The result, based on a sample of 301 events, is τB = 1.02 ±0.390.42 ps, where the indicated errors include both statistics and systematics.  相似文献

Based on the reduction property of dielectric spectra associated with the power-law function [∼(jωτ)±ν] that appears in the frequency domain, one can develop an effective procedure for detection of different reduced motions (described by the corresponding power-law exponents) in temperature domain. If the power-law exponent ν is related to characteristic relaxation time τ by the relationship ν=ν0 ln(τ/τs)/ln(τ/τ0) (here τs, τ0 are the characteristic times characterizing a movement over fractal cluster that is defined in Ref. [Ya.E. Ryabov, Yu. Feldman, J. Chem. Phys. 116 (2002) 8610]) and the simple temperature dependence of τ(T)=τA exp(E/T) obeys the traditional Arrhenius relationship, then one can prove that any extreme point figuring in the complex permittivity ε() spectra (characterized by the values [ωm, y(ωm)]) obeys the generalized Vogel-Fulcher-Tamman (VFT) equation. This important statement confirms the existence of the ‘universal’ response (UR) (discovered and classified by Jonscher in frequency domain) and opens new possibilities in the detection of the ‘hidden’ collective motions in temperature region for self-similar (heterogeneous) systems. It gives also the extended interpretation of the VFT equation and allows one to differentiate collective motions passing through an extreme point. This differentiation, in turn, allows one to select the proper fitting function containing one or two (at least) relaxation times for the fitting of the complex permittivity function ε() in the limited frequency domain. This conclusion can allow for the classification of dielectric spectroscopy as the spectroscopy of the reduced (collective) motions, which are described by different power-law exponents on the mesoscale region. The verification of this approach on available DS data (poly(ethylene glycol)-based-single-ion conductors) completely confirms the basic statements of this theory and opens new possibilities in general classification of different motions that can be detected in the analysis of the different dielectric permittivity spectra.  相似文献

Using the ARGUS detector at the e+e storage ring DORIS II, we have observed the decay τππππ+π+ντ in tau-pair events produced at center-or-mass energies between 9.4 and 10.6 GeV. From the 5π invariant mass distribution we derive an upper limit of m(ντ)<35 MeV/c2 at the 95% confidence level. The branching ratio for this decay channel is found to be (0.064±0.023±0.01)%.  相似文献

If a new hypothetical particle induces a lepton-number violating process, it could also affect the reactions e+e→μ+μ and e+e→τ+τ through the t-channel exchange of the particle. A fit of the cross sections and forward-backward asymmetries measured by experiments at PEP and PETRA yields the 90% confidence level limits on the coupling of the partile: G < 0.119GF and G < 0.085GF, where GF is the Fermi coupling constant. These limits exclude certain regions of couplings allowed by other lepton-number violating searches.  相似文献

Proton spin-lattice relaxation rate has been measured at room temperature in the impurity-doped (CH3)4NMn(1-x)CuxCl3 for X = 0.04, 0.1 and 0.17. The result for Hz. snfc;chain-axis as a function of resonance frequency clearly shows that the spectral density of the spin fluctuations in the impure system remains to have the characteristics 1-D diffusive term (ω-12), with a slower rate of the spin diffusion in accordance with the theory by Richards. The result for H⊥ chain-axis indicates, however, the existence of a singularity of the fluctuations near ω = 0.  相似文献

We have measured the lifetimes of the D0, D+ and Ds+ mesons with data from the CLEO detector. We find τD0 = (5.0 ± 0.7 ± 0.4) × 10−13s, τD+ = (11.4 ± 1.6 ± 0.7) × 10−13s and τDs+ = (4.7 ± 2.2 ± 0.5) × 10−13s, giving lifetime ratios τD+/τD0 = 2.3 ± 0.5 and τDs+/τD0 = 0.9 ± 0.5.  相似文献

Analytic expressions of lepton-flavour- and lepton-number-violating decays of charged leptons are derived in the context of general SU(2)L ⊗ U(1)Y seesaw scenarios that are motivated by grand unified theories (GUT's) or superstring models, in which left-handed and/or right-handed neutral singlets are present. Possible constraints imposed by cosmology and low-energy data are briefly discussed. The violation of the decoupling theorem in flavour-dependent graphs due to the presence of heavy neutral leptons of Dirac or Majorana nature is emphasized. Numerical estimates reveal that the decays τe e e+or τe μ μ+ can be as large as ∼ 10−6, which may be observed in LEP experiments or other τ factories.  相似文献

We consider the integrated density of states (IDS) ρ(λ) of random Hamiltonian Hω=?Δ+Vω, Vω being a random field on ? d which satisfies a mixing condition. We prove that the probability of large fluctuations of the finite volume IDS |Λ|?1ρ(λ, HΛ(ω)), Λ ? ? d , around the thermodynamic limit ρ(λ) is bounded from above by exp {?k|Λ|},k>0. In this case ρ(λ) can be recovered from a variational principle. Furthermore we show the existence of a Lifshitztype of singularity of ρ(λ) as λ → 0+ in the case where Vω is non-negative. More precisely we prove the following bound: ρ(λ)≦exp(?kλ?d/2) as λ → 0+ k>0. This last result is then discussed in some examples.  相似文献

The dielectric properties and loss of Bi1.5ZnSb1.5O7 a poor-semiconducting ceramic were investigated by impedance spectroscopy, in the frequency range from 5 Hz to 13 MHz. Electric measurements were performed from 100 to 700 °C. Pyrochlore type phase was synthesized by the polymeric precursor method. Dense ceramic with 97% of the theoretical density was prepared by sintering via constant heating rate. The dielectric permittivity dependence as a function of frequency and temperature showed a strong dispersion at frequency lower than 10 kHz. The losses exhibit slight dependence with the frequency at low temperatures presenting a strong increase at temperatures higher than 400 °C. A decrease of the loss magnitude occurs with increasing frequency. Relaxation times were extracted using the dielectric functions Z″(ω) and M″(ω). The plots of the relaxation times τZ and τM as a function of temperature follow the Arrhenius law, where a single slope is observed with activation energy values equal to 1.38 and 1.37 eV, respectively.  相似文献

The inverse Monte Carlo method is used to construct solutions for three radiative transfer inverse problems in which the single scatter albedo, ω, varies within the medium and the scattering is isotropic. The first problem concerns a half space whose single scatter albedo varies exponentially according to ω = ω0e?τ/s, where τ is the optical depth, s is known and we seek ω0; the second problem concerns a two-region slab for which we seek ω for each region. The procedure is also used to construct an approximate solution for a finite, plane-parallel medium whose single scatter albedo varies exponentially by considering the medium to be composed of five regions, each with constant single scatter albedo.  相似文献
