We present a simple bijection between restricted Bressoud lattice paths and paths in regime II of the Andrews–Baxter–Forrester restricted solid–on–solid model. Both types of paths describe states in parafermionic irreducible modules. The bijection implies a direct correspondence between a RSOS path and a parafermionic state in a quasi-particle basis.   相似文献

The Friedmann equation for a positive tension brane situated between two bulk spacetimes that posses the same 5D cosmological constant, but which does not posses a Z2 symmetry of the metric itself is derived, and the possible effects of dropping the Z2 symmetry on the expansion of our Universe are examined; cosmological constraints are discussed. We show the effect of this is an inflation-like period at very early times. The global solutions for the metric in the infinite extra dimension case are found and comparison with the symmetric case is made. We show that any brane world senario of this type must revert to a Z2 symmetric form at late times, and hence rule out certain proposed scenarios.  相似文献

In this paper we consider parafermionic Liouville field theory. We study integral representations of three-point correlation functions and develop a method allowing us to compute them exactly. In particular, we evaluate the generalization of Selberg integral obtained by insertion of parafermionic polynomial. Our result is justified by different approach based on dual representation of parafermionic Liouville field theory described by three-exponential model.  相似文献

The generic two-loop diagram of massless scalar field theory ind dimensions, with propagators raised to powers {α i |i=1,5} is shown to have a symmetry groupZ 2×S 6 corresponding to reflection and permutation of six linear combinations of the six parameters. The expansion about α i =d/4=1 is given to the level required for six-loop renormalization. All but five of the coefficients are obtained from products of one-loop diagrams. In the exact renormalization-group (RG) flow in the infrared cutoff Λ one needs boundary conditions. In a previous paper on SU(2) Yang-Mills theory we proposed to use the nine physical relevant couplings of the effective action as boundary conditions at the physical point Λ= 0 (these couplings are defined at some non-vanishing subtraction point μ≠ 0). In this paper we show perturbatively that it is possible to appropriately fix these couplings in such a way that the full set of Slavnov-Taylor (ST) identities are satisfied. Three couplings are given by the vector and ghost wave-function normalization and the three-vector coupling at the subtraction point; three of the remaining six are vanishing (e.g. the vector mass) and the others are expressed by irrelevant vertices evaluated at the subtraction point. We follow the method used by Becchi to prove ST identities in the RG framework. There the boundary conditions are given at a non-physical point Λ = Λ′ ≠ 0, so that one avoids the need of a non-vanishing subtraction point.  相似文献

We give a complete classification of gauge symmetry breaking by Wilson lines on the standard Z orbifold by deriving the general formula of the conditions of modular invariance and group invariance in the presence of background gauge fields. All possible E6×SU(3) breaking in terms of one Wilson line is given. The symmetries of the electroweak and grand unification are obtained by combining two Wilson lines.  相似文献

We study the effect of symmetry breaking in a quantum phase transition on pairwise entanglement in spin-1/2 models. We give a set of conditions on correlation functions a model has to meet in order to keep the pairwise entanglement unchanged by a parity symmetry breaking. It turns out that all mean-field solvable models do meet this requirement, whereas the presence of strong correlations leads to a violation of this condition. This results in an order-induced enhancement of entanglement, and we report on two examples where this takes place.  相似文献

We derive two methods for determining the symmetry breaking of E6 in the low energy superstring theory, and classify all breaking patterns. A method for calculating the effective Higgs vacuum expectation values is presented. We show that there are theories with naturally light SU2w Higgs doublets, and classify all theories in which this occurs. The phenomenology of spontaneously broken E6 theories is discussed, emphasizing the issues of nucleon decay and neutrino masses.  相似文献

This paper deals with the study of Bianchi type-I universe in the context of Nash gravity by using the Noether symmetry approach. We shortly revisit the Nash theory of gravity. We make a short recap of the Noether symmetry approach and consider the geometry for Bianchi-type I model. We obtain the exact general solutions of the theory inherently exhibited by the Noether symmetry. We also examine the cosmological implications of the model by discussing the two cases of viable scenarios. Surprisingly, we find that the predictions are nicely compatible with those of the \(\Lambda \)CDM model.  相似文献

Noether symmetry for scalar tensor theory including curvature quadratic term has been explored, with the introduction of an auxiliary variable. Introduction of an auxiliary variable in the action facilitates in transforming the fourth order field equations to the second order field equations. Introduction of Noether symmetry in the action yield the coupling function () and the potential V(). The application of Noether symmetry further turned out to be powerful tool to find the solution of the field equations. According to the theory of superselection sectors of Doplicher, Haag, and Roberts, field operators which make transitions between different superselection sectors—i.e. different irreducible representations of the observable algebra—are to be constructed by adjoining localized endomorphisms to the algebra of local observables. We find the relevant endomorphisms of the chiral algebra of observables in the minimal conformal model with central chargec=1/2 (Ising model). We show by explicit and elementary construction how they determine a representation of the braid groupB which is associated with a Temperley-Lieb-Jones algebra. We recover fusion rules, and compute the quantum dimensions of the superselection sectors. We exhibit a field algebra which is quantum group covariant and acts in the Hilbert space of physical states. It obeys local braid relations in an appropriate weak sense.  相似文献

The connection between the minimality of the Higgs field potential and the maximal little groups of its representation obtained by spontaneous symmetry breaking is analyzed. It is shown that for several representations the lowest minimum of the potential is related to the maximal little group of those representations. Furthermore, a practical necessity criterion is given for the representation of the Higgs field needed for spontaneous symmetry breaking.  相似文献
