We use Palm calculus to derive a simple, intuitive system of two linear-quadratic equations and two unknowns, whose algebraic solution yields Harel’s (1988) upper bound to the Erlang loss probability. We then derive a sequence of progressively stronger systems of equations, which eventually become exact. We provide two example applications.  相似文献

A reaction–diffusion system of two bacteria species competing a single limiting nutrient with the consideration of virus infection is derived and analysed. Firstly, the well-posedness of the system, the existence of the trivial and semi-trivial steady states, and some prior estimations of the steady states are given. Secondly, a single species subsystem with virus is studied. The stability of the trivial and semi-trivial steady states and the uniform persistence of the subsystem are obtained. Further, taking the infective ability of virus as a bifurcation parameter, the global structure of the positive steady states and the effect of virus on the positive steady states are established via bifurcation theory and limiting arguments. It shows that the backward bifurcation may occur. Some sufficient conditions for the existence, uniqueness and stability of the positive steady state are also obtained. Finally, some sufficient conditions on the existence of the positive steady states for the full system are derived by using the fixed point index theory. Some results on persistence or extinction for the full system are also obtained.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a general iterative scheme based on CQ projection method for finding a common solution of system of equilibrium problems and the fixed point set of a finite family of demicontractive mappings. We also prove strong convergence of the scheme to a common element of the two above-described sets. We then give a numerical example to justify our main result. An example is given in an infinite dimensional space for supporting our main result. Moreover, we apply our main result to solve the unconstrained image restoration problems with a finite family of blurring operators. Our results extend and improve some existing results in the literature.  相似文献

This article reports a numerical discretization scheme, based on two‐dimensional integrated radial‐basis‐function networks (2D‐IRBFNs) and rectangular grids, for solving second‐order elliptic partial differential equations defined on 2D nonrectangular domains. Unlike finite‐difference and 1D‐IRBFN Cartesian‐grid techniques, the present discretization method is based on an approximation scheme that allows the field variable and its derivatives to be evaluated anywhere within the domain and on the boundaries, regardless of the shape of the problem domain. We discuss the following two particular strengths, which the proposed Cartesian‐grid‐based procedure possesses, namely (i) the implementation of Neumann boundary conditions on irregular boundaries and (ii) the use of high‐order integration schemes to evaluate flux integrals arising from a control‐volume discretization on irregular domains. A new preconditioning scheme is suggested to improve the 2D‐IRBFN matrix condition number. Good accuracy and high‐order convergence solutions are obtained. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
