We consider the direct problem in the theory of the axisymmetric Laval nozzle (including sonic transition) for the steady flow of an inviscid and nonheat-conducting gas of finite electrical conductivity. The problem is solved by numerical integration of the equations of unsteady gas flow using an explicit difference scheme that was proposed by Godunov [1,2], and was used to calculate steady and unsteady flows of a nonconducting gas in nozzles by Ivanov and Kraiko [3]. The subsonic and the supersonic flows of a conducting gas in an axisymmetric channel when there is no external electric field, the magnetic field is meridional, and the magnetic Reynolds numbers are small have previously been completely investigated. Thus, Kheins, Ioller and Élers [4] investigated experimentally and theoretically the flow of a conducting gas in a cylindrical pipe when there is interaction between the flow and the magnetic field of a loop current that is coaxial with the pipe. Two different approaches were used in the theoretical analysis in [4]: linearization with respect to the parameter S of the magnetogasdynamic interaction and numerical calculation by the method of characteristics. The first approach was used for weakly perturbed subsonic and supersonic flows and the solutions obtained in analytic form hold only for small S. This is the approach used by Bam-Zelikovich [5] to investigate subsonic and supersonic jet flows through a current loop. The numerical calculations of supersonic flows in a cylindrical pipe in [4] were restricted to comparatively small values of S since, as S increases, shock waves and subsonic waves appear in the flow. Katskova and Chushkin [6] used the method of characteristics to calculate the flow of the type in the supersonic part of an axisymmetric nozzle with a point of inflection. The flow at the entrance to the section of the nozzle under consideration was supersonic and uniform, while the magnetic field was assumed to be constant and parallel to the axis of symmetry. The plane case was also studied in [6]. The solution of the direct problem is the subject of a paper by Brushlinskii, Gerlakh, and Morozov [7], who considered the flow of an electrically conducting gas between two coaxial electrodes of given shape. There was no applied magnetic field, and the induced magnetic field was in the direction perpendicular to the meridional plane. The problem was solved numerically in [7] using a standard process. However, the boundary conditions adopted, which were chosen largely to simplify the calculations, and the accuracy achieved only allowed the authors [7] to make reliable judgments about the qualitative features of the flow. Recently, in addition to [7], several papers have been published [8–10] in which the authors used a similar approach to solve the direct problem in the theory of the Laval nozzle (in the case of a nonconducting gas).Translated from Izvestiya Akademiya Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza., No. 5, pp. 14–20, September–October, 1971.In conclusion the author wishes to thank M. Ya. Ivanov, who kindly made available his program for calculating the flow of a conducting gas, and also A. B. Vatazhin and A. N. Kraiko for useful advice.  相似文献

The problem of subsonic, transonic, and supersonic separation flow of water past a circular cone of finite length is solved. The water is assumed to be an ideal compressible fluid. A steady flow picture is obtained in a process of stabilization with respect to the time by means of a two-dimensional finite-difference scheme [1]. The dependence of the drag coefficient on the Mach number of the oncoming flow, the distribution of the pressure over the conical surface, and the shape of the free surface formed behind the cone are investigated.  相似文献

The results of a numerical simulation of the three-dimensional outflow of a system of circular supersonic turbulent jets into a cocurrent supersonic (or subsonic) air flow in a partially bounded region are given. Solutions are obtained by the splitting method using a matrix sweep of the parabolized Navier-Stokes equations. Assuming that the flow is nonseparated in the boundary layer, features of the three-dimensional structure of the jet system are investigated as functions of the pressure ratio number and the jet and cocurrent flow Mach numbers.  相似文献

We prove that for the two-dimensional steady complete compressible Euler system, with given uniform upcoming supersonic flows, the following three fundamental flow patterns (special solutions) in gas dynamics involving transonic shocks are all unique in the class of piecewise C 1 smooth functions, under appropriate conditions on the downstream subsonic flows: (i) the normal transonic shocks in a straight duct with finite or infinite length, after fixing a point the shock-front passing through; (ii) the oblique transonic shocks attached to an infinite wedge; (iii) a flat Mach configuration containing one supersonic shock, two transonic shocks, and a contact discontinuity, after fixing a point where the four discontinuities intersect. These special solutions are constructed traditionally under the assumption that they are piecewise constant, and they have played important roles in the studies of mathematical gas dynamics. Our results show that the assumption of a piecewise constant can be replaced by some weaker assumptions on the downstream subsonic flows, which are sufficient to uniquely determine these special solutions. Mathematically, these are uniqueness results on solutions of free boundary problems of a quasi-linear system of elliptic-hyperbolic composite-mixed type in bounded or unbounded planar domains, without any assumptions on smallness. The proof relies on an elliptic system of pressure p and the tangent of the flow angle w = v/u obtained by decomposition of the Euler system in Lagrangian coordinates, and a newly developed method for the L estimate that is independent of the free boundaries, by combining the maximum principles of elliptic equations, and careful analysis of the shock polar applied on the (maybe curved) shock-fronts.  相似文献

The results of numerical integration of the Euler equations governing two-dimensional and axisymmetric flows of an ideal (inviscid and non-heat-conducting) gas with local supersonic zones are presented. The subject of the study is the formation of shocks closing local supersonic zones. The flow in the vicinity of the initial point of the closing shock is calculated on embedded, successively refined grids with an accuracy much greater than that previously achieved. The calculations performed, together with the analysis of certain controversial issues, leave no doubt that it is the intersection of C ?-characteristics proceeding from the sonic line inside the supersonic zone that is responsible for the closing shock formation.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a new lattice Boltzmann model for the compressible Navier–Stokes equations. The new model is based on a three‐energy‐level and three‐speed lattice Boltzmann equation by using a method of higher moments of the equilibrium distribution functions. As the 25‐bit model, we obtained the equilibrium distribution functions and the compressible Navier–Stokes equations with the second accuracy of the truncation errors. The numerical examples show that the model can be used to simulate the shock waves, contact discontinuities and supersonic flows around circular cylinder. The numerical results are compared with those obtained by traditional method. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The starting of an axisymmetric convergent-divergent nozzle, with the result that supersonic flow is formed within almost the entire channel, is modeled, as applied to the hypersonic aerodynamic setup of the Institute of Mechanics of Moscow State University. A successful starting is realized when the nozzle is thrown in a uniform supersonic air flow at a fairly high Mach number. The steady flow structure is studied. It is numerically shown that in the convergent section of the channel there arises an oblique shock wave whose interaction with the nozzle axis leads to the formation of a reflected shock and a curvilinear Mach disk with a region of unsteady subsonic flow in the vicinity of the throat. The mathematical model is based on the two-dimensional Euler equations for axisymmetric gas flows.  相似文献

Axisymmetric steady conical and locally conical non-swirled flows of an ideal (inviscid and non-heat-conducting) gas are considered. Like two-dimensional conical flows, the examined onedimensional (axisymmetric) flows can be conically subsonic and supersonic. If the uniform flow is not considered as a conical flow, then the type of one-dimensional conical flows can change only on the shock wave, except for the junction of two one-dimensional conical flows of different types on the C + characteristic. C ± characteristics and streamlines are constructed for a number of locally conical flows and some already known and new conical flows.  相似文献

The flow in the three-dimensional separation zone of a turbulent boundary layer on a plate in front of a supersonic jet injected perpendicularly to the subsonic drifing flow is considered. The purpose of the investigation is to establish the physical singularities of subsonic flow around a supersonic jet obstacle and to obtain dependences of the geometric flow characteristics on the free-stream and injected-jet parameters. Results of an experimental investigation permitted proposing approximate dependences of the geometric three-dimensional separation-zone characteristics which appear in the subsonic stream ahead of a jet obstacle.  相似文献

Results of experimental investigations and numerical simulations of supersonic gas flows in radial nozzles with different nozzle widths are presented. It is demonstrated that different types of the flow are formed in the nozzle with a fixed nozzle radius and different nozzle widths: supersonic flows with oblique shock waves inducing boundary layer separation are formed in wide nozzles, and flows with a normal pseudoshock separating the supersonic and subsonic flow domains are formed in narrow nozzles (micronozzles). The pseudoshock structure is studied, and the total pressure loss in the case of the gas flow in a micronozzle is determined.  相似文献

In this paper, numerical simulation of three-dimensional supersonic flow in a duct is presented. The flow field in the duct is complex and can find its applications in the inlet of air-breathing engines. A unique streamwise marching Lagrangian method is employed for solving the steady Euler equations. The method was first initiated by Loh and Hui (1990) for 2-D steady supersonic flow computations and then extended to 3-D computation by the present authors Loh and Liou (1992). The new scheme is shown to be capable of accurately resolving complicated shock or contact discontinuities and their interactions. In all the computations, a free stream of Mach numberM=4 is considered. This article was processed using Springer-Verlag TEX Shock Waves macro package 1.0 and the AMS fonts, developed by the American Mathematical Society.  相似文献

The behavior of discontinuities (weak shocks) of the parameters of a disturbed flow and their interaction with the discontinuities of the basic flow in the geometric acoustics approximation, when the variation of the intensity of such shocks along the characteristics or the bicharacteristics is described by ordinary differential equations, has been investigated by many authors. Thus, Keller [1] considered the case when the undisturbed flow is three-dimensional and steady, and the external inputs do not depend on the flow parameters. An analogous study was made by Bazer and Fleischman for the MGD isentropic flow of an ideal conducting medium [2], while Lugovtsov [3] studied the three-dimensional steady flow of a gas of finite conductivity for small magnetic Reynolds numbers and no electric field. Several studies (for example, [4]) have considered the behavior of discontinuities of the solutions from the general positions of the theory of hyperbolic systems of quasilinear equations. Finally, the interaction of weak shocks (or the equivalent continuous disturbances) with shock waves was studied in [5–11].In what follows we consider one-dimensional (with plane, cylindrical, and spherical waves) and quasi-one-dimensional unsteady flows, and also plane and axisymmetric steady flows. Two problems are investigated: the variation of the intensity of weak shocks in the presence of inputs which depend on the stream parameters, and the interaction of weak shocks with strong discontinuities which differ from contact (tangential) discontinuities. The thermodynamic properties of the gas are considered arbitrary. We note that the resulting formulas for the interaction coefficients of the weak and strong discontinuities are also valid for nonequilibrium flow.  相似文献

A scheme for the numerical solution of the two-dimensional (2D) Euler equations on unstructured triangular meshes has been developed. The basic first-order scheme is a cell-centred upwind finite-volume scheme utilizing Roe's approximate Riemann solver. To obtain second-order accuracy, a new gradient based on the weighted average of Barth and Jespersen's three-point support gradient model is used to reconstruct the cell interface values. Characteristic variables in the direction of local pressure gradient are used in the limiter to minimize the numerical oscillation around solution discontinuities. An Approximate LU (ALU) factorization scheme originally developed for structured grid methods is adopted for implicit time integration and shows good convergence characterisitics in the test. To eliminate the data dependency which prohibits vectorization in the inversion process, a black-gray-white colouring and numbering technique on unstructured triangular meshes is developed for the ALU factorization scheme. This results in a high degree of vectorization of the final code. Numerical experiments on transonic Ringleb flow, transonic channel flow with circular bump, supersonic shock reflection flow and subsonic flow over multielement aerofoils are calculated to validate the methodology.  相似文献

The possibility of generating electric power in a plane model of an integral high-speed hydrogen-burning jet engine by mounting a magnetogasdynamic (MHD) generator at the combustion chamber exit is discussed. Attention is concentrated on clarifying the effect of MHD energy extraction from the stream on the aircraft’s thrust characteristics. The internal and external flows are simulated numerically. The two-dimensional supersonic gasdynamic flow inside the engine (in the air-intake, combustion chamber, MHD generator, and nozzle) and the supersonic flow past the aircraft are described on the basis of the complete averaged system of Navier-Stokes equations (in the presence of turbulence), which includes MHD force and heat sources, a one-parameter turbulence model, the electrodynamic equations for an ideal segmented MHD generator, and the equations of the detailed chemical kinetics of hydrogen burning in air. The numerical solution is obtained by means of a computer program that uses a relaxation scheme and an implicit higher-order version of the Godunov method. It is shown that MHD electric power generation can be realized without disturbing the positive balance in the relation between the thrust and the drag of the aircraft with the engine operating with allowance for the MHD drag, but with some loss of effective thrust.  相似文献

The unsteady Euler equations are numerically solved using the finite volume one-step scheme recently developed by Ron-Ho Ni. The multiple-grid procedure of Ni is also implemented. The flows are assumed to be homo-enthalpic; the energy equation is eliminated and the static pressure is determined by the steady Bernoulli equation; a local time-step technique is used. Inflow and outflow boundaries are treated with the compatibility relations method of ONERA. The efficiency of the multiple-grid scheme is demonstrated by a two-dimensional calculation (transonic flow past the NACA 12 aerofoil) and also by a three-dimensional one (transonic lifting flow past the M6 wing). The third application presented shows the ability of the method to compute the vortical flow around a delta wing with leading-edge separation. No condition is applied at the leading-edge; the vortex sheets are captured in the same sense as shock waves. Results indicate that the Euler equations method is well suited for the prediction of flows with shock waves and contact discontinuities, the multiple-grid procedure allowing a substantial reduction of the computational time.  相似文献

A numerical study is conducted to simulate the effects of extraneous shock impingement on a blunt body in viscous hypersonic flow. The interaction of extraneous shock with the leading-edge shock results in a very complex flow field that contains local regions of high pressure and intense heating. The heating and pressure can be orders of magnitude higher than the peak values in the absence of shock impingement. The flow field is calculated by solving thin-layer Navier-Stokes equations with a finite-volume flux splitting technique developed by van Leer. For a zero or small sweep of the body, a type IV interaction occurs, which produces a lambda shock structure with a supersonic jet embedded in the otherwise subsonic flow; for a moderate sweep of about 25°, a type V interaction occurs in which a subsonic shear layer sandwiched in supersonic flow is produced with a transmitted shock. In the present study, both type IV and type V interactions are investigated. Results of the present numerical investigation are compared with available experimental results. For the present conditions, the peak pressure is 2.2 times the unimpinged stagnation point pressure and the peak heating is 3 times the unimpinged stagnation point heating. The flow for a type IV interaction is found to be unsteady.  相似文献

A numerical investigation is made of the interaction of an underexpanded jet of an inviscid and nonheat-conducting gas issuing from an axisymmetric conical nozzle with plane, cylindrical, and spherical surfaces. It is assumed that the flow turning angle for flow about a barrier is smaller than the critical angle, and subsonic regions are absent in the flow field studied. The effect of the characteristic parameters (Mach number at the nozzle exit, jet underexpansion) on the flow pattern and jet forces is analyzed. The results of numerical calculations are compared to the results of approximate theories and experimental data. A theoretical solution of the problem of the effect of a supersonic jet on a surface of given shape, even in the approximation of an inviscid, nonheat-conducting gas, is quite difficult. A reason for this is that the flow region contains shock waves interacting with each other, contact discontinuities, and zones of mixed sub-and supersonic flow. As far as is known to the authors, the results obtained for three-dimensional problems for the interaction of supersonic jets with each other or with barriers are primarily experimental (for example, [1–6]). A numerical analysis of the interaction of axisymmetric ideal-gas jets was carried out in [7–10]. In [7] a three-dimensional form of the method of characteristics was used to calculate the initial interaction region for two supersonic cylindrical jets (with Mach number M=10) intersecting at an angle of 60. The interaction of several jets has been considered in [8, 9], where the solution was obtained according to the Lax—Wendroff method without elimination of the discontinuity lines of flow parameters. In [10] the lateral interaction of axisymmetric supersonic jets with each other and with a plate is investigated by means of a straight-through calculationTranslated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 3–8, November–December, 1974.The authors thank A. The results of the experimental investigation of supersonic turbulent jets with local subsonic zones of forward and reverse flow exhausting into the ambient atmosphere or an outer stream, either parallel or transverse to the jet, are presented. Some gasdynamic features of the flows containing these zones, which have not been adequately addressed in the literature, are analyzed. Thus, supersonic flows with back pressure, e.g., highly overexpanded and underexpanded jet flows, and those upstream and downstream of a jet on the leeward side of a cone in a supersonic gas stream, are studied. Three variants of the startup of an axisymmetric convergent-divergent nozzle are considered with the static pressures at the entry and exit of the nozzle being the same at the beginning of the process. The subsonic startup corresponds to open nozzle acceleration in air. The supersonic startup simulates the sudden opening of a cover at the nozzle inlet under supersonic flight conditions. A successful nozzle startup with the formation of steady supersonic flow along the whole channel is realized in the third variant of supersonic startup with gas injection through a small region of the wall of the divergent nozzle section. The investigation is performed numerically, on the basis of the Euler equations for axisymmetric gas flows.  相似文献
