In this paper, inspired by V. A. Borovikov’s pioneering work, we study a wave diffracted by a convex cone of arbitrary cross section. Our analysis is focused on the shadow boundary of the wave reflected by the cone surface, where geometric optics yields nonphysical weak singularity. The uniform asymptotic expansion constructed here, which is expressed in terms of the parabolic cylinder functions, is regular at the geometric shadow boundary. Outside the penumbra region, it perfectly matches the ray expansions of the reflected wave, yielding in addition a regular spherical wave, would-be scattered by the cone vertex. The work deals with the far field asymptotics of the classical solution for the problem of diffraction by an impedance cone. The incident acoustic plane wave completely illuminates the semi-infinite conical surface. The scattered field contains different components in the asymptotics, namely, the spherical wave from the vertex of the cone, the reflected waves, and, under some conditions, also the surface waves of Rayleigh type. We give integral representations for the scattering diagram of the spherical wave. The uniform (with respect to the observation direction) asymptotic expression for the wave field is also addressed and described by the parabolic cylinder ansatz. Based on the vectorial structure of an electromagnetic wave, the analytical and concise expressions for the TE and TM terms of a vectorial plane wave diffracted by a circular aperture are derived in the far-field. The expressions of the energy flux distributions of the TE term, the TM term and the diffracted plane wave are also presented. The ratios of the power of the TE and TM terms to that of the diffracted plane wave are examined in the far-field. In addition, the far-field divergence angles of the TE term, the TM term and the diffracted plane wave, which are related to the energy flux distribution, are investigated. The different energy flux distributions of the TE and TM terms result in the discrepancy of their divergence angles. The influences of the linearly polarized angle and the radius of the circular aperture on the far-field divergence angles of the TE term, the TM term and the diffracted plane wave are discussed in detail. This research may promote the recognition of the optical propagation through a circular aperture.vspace1mm  相似文献

We study theoretically the statistical properties of one-dimensional wave-field inversions. We show that the real and imaginary parts of the logarithm of the normalized coherence function are the invariants of the inverted field if the field is measured on the statistical symmetry axis. Using these invariants, one can easily reconstruct two-point statistical moments of the phase distribution on the screen. We derive equations for the reconstruction of phase-distribution moments in the general case. Numerical simulations show that these equations can be solved by an iterative technique. The problem of diffraction of a high-frequency plane wave by a strip with ideal boundary conditions is considered for the case of oblique incidence. The study is based on the parabolic approximation, which is used to construct an expression for the directional pattern in terms of single quadratures. A similar result is obtained using the embedding formula. It is shown that the derived expression approximates the classical Michaeli result. A proof of the optical theorem for the parabolic problem is presented.  相似文献

A four point function of basic Neveu–Schwarz exponential fields is constructed in the N=1N=1 supersymmetric Liouville field theory. Although the basic NS structure constants were known previously, we present a new derivation, based on a singular vector decoupling in the NS sector. This allows to stay completely inside the NS sector of the space of states, without referencing to the Ramond fields. The four-point construction involves also the NS blocks, for which we suggest a new recursion representation, the so-called elliptic one. The bootstrap conditions for this four point correlation function are verified numerically for different values of the parameters.  相似文献

Although the phenomenon of light diffraction by ultrasound has been studied very extensively during the last 40 years, almost all investigations were concentrated on the individual far field (Fraunhofer) diffraction orders. In the present paper, the basic theory is developed for studying the near field (Fresnel region) of light diffracted by an arbitrary plane ultrasonic wave and the fundamental periodicity properties are stated. The general plane-wave theory of Raman-Nath has been taken as a starting point. From the analysis, the near field of the diffracted light is seen to be highly sensitive to variations of the ultrasonic amplitude and this feature provides a useful technique for observing weak ultrasonic waves. In particular, for the specific case of Raman-Nath-type diffraction, a procedure is presented allowing the reconstruction of the time waveform of the ultrasonic wave from the diffracted light intensity signal.  相似文献

The quantization of the spin angular momentum S of a field interacting with a plane boundary is investigated. When a good set of modes is chosen, the component of S along the momentum P is formally the same as that for a free field. In the case of the presence of an evanescent wave the good modes are the same ones that appear in the filtering of the polarisation states by total reflection. But terms due to the discontinuity appear in the expressions. Although they are clearly related to the interaction field-interface, their interpretation is not obvious.  相似文献

Electromagnetic wave scattering on a dielectric multilayer cylinder is studied. It is shown that the asymptotic behavior of the field in the inner layer of the cylinder is a superposition of two flat waves running towards each other. It is shown that the Green's function of an electron that interacts with a quantized plane wave can be expressed in terms of the corresponding Green's function of a scalar particle. We present an approach to calculating the complex amplitude of a three-dimensional (3D) diffracted light field in the paraxial approximation based on a 3D Fourier transform. Starting from the Huygens-Fresnel principle, the method is first developed for the computation of the light distribution around the focus of an apertured spherical wave. The method, with modification, is then extended to treat the 3D diffraction of an aperture with an arbitrary transmittance function.  相似文献
