The present paper deals with mathematical models of heat and moisture transport in layered building envelopes. The study of such processes generates a system of two doubly nonlinear evolution partial differential equations with appropriate initial and boundary conditions. The existence of the strong solution in two dimensions for a (short) time interval is proven. The proof rests on regularity results of elliptic transmission problem for isotropic composite materials.  相似文献

The major target of this paper is to construct new nonlinear boundary–initial value problems for Boussinesq–Burgers Equations, and derive the solutions of these nonlinear boundary–initial value problems by the simplified homogeneous balance method. The nonlinear transformation and its inversion between the Boussinesq–Burgers Equations and the linear heat conduction equation are firstly derived; then a new nonlinear boundary–initial value problem for the Boussinesq–Burgers equations with variable damping on the half infinite straight line is put forward for the first time, and the solution of this nonlinear boundary–initial value problem is obtained, especially, the decay mode solution of nonlinear boundary–initial value problem for the cylindrical (spherical) Boussinesq–Burgers equations is obtained.  相似文献

Convective Linear Stability of Solitary Waves for Boussinesq Equations   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Boussinesq was the first to explain the existence of Scott Russell's solitary wave mathematically. He employed a variety of asymptotically equivalent equations to describe water waves in the small-amplitude, long-wave regime. We study the linearized stability of solitary waves for three linearly well-posed Boussinesq models. These are problems for which well-developed Lyapunov methods of stability analysis appear to fail. However, we are able to analyze the eigenvalue problem for small-amplitude solitary waves, by comparison to the equation that Boussinesq himself used to describe the solitary wave, which is now called the Korteweg–de Vries equation. With respect to a weighted norm designed to diminish as perturbations convect away from the wave profile, we prove that nonzero eigenvalues are absent in a half-plane of the form R λ>− b for some b >0, for all three Boussinesq models. This result is used to prove the decay of solutions of the evolution equations linearized about the solitary wave, in two of the models. This "convective linear stability" property has played a central role in the proof of nonlinear asymptotic stability of solitary-wave-like solutions in other systems.  相似文献

In this note we consider the inviscid limit for the 3D Boussinesq equations without diffusion, under slip boundary conditions of Navier’s type. We first study more closely the Navier–Stokes equations, to better understand the problem. The role of the initial data is also emphasized in connection with the vanishing viscosity limit.  相似文献

We consider a class of stochastic Boussinesq equations driven by Lévy processes and establish the uniqueness of its invariant measure. The proof is based on the progressive stopping time technique.  相似文献

The existence of a weak solution of a boundary value problem for a viscoelasticity model with memory on an infinite time interval is proved. The proof relies on an approximation of the original boundary value problem by regularized ones on finite time intervals and makes use of recent results concerning the solvability of Cauchy problems for systems of ordinary differential equations in the class of regular Lagrangian flows.  相似文献

We study an initial boundary value problem of a model describing the evolution in time of diffusive phase interfaces in solid materials, in which martensitic phase transformations driven by configurational forces take place. The model was proposed earlier by the authors and consists of the partial differential equations of linear elasticity coupled to a nonlinear, degenerate parabolic equation of second order for an order parameter. In a previous paper global existence of weak solutions in one space dimension was proved under Dirichlet boundary conditions for the order parameter. Here we show that global solutions also exist for Neumann boundary conditions. Again, the method of proof is only valid in one space dimension.  相似文献

We derive stability properties and error estimates for the finite element method when used to approximate heat flow in a fluid enclosed by a solid medium. The coupled Navier Stokes system involves the Boussinesq equations in the fluid-filled cavity linked through an interface with heat conduction in the solid enclosing the fluid. As we assume no extra regularity then can be shown to hold under mild restriction on the data (at least over a small time interval in R 3), we focus primarily on low order finite element spaces.  相似文献

We consider the initial value problem of the 3D incompressible Boussinesq equations for rotating stratified fluids. We establish the dispersive and the Strichartz estimates for the linear propagator associated with both the rotation and the stable stratification. As an application, we give a simple proof of a unique existence of global in time solutions to our system using just a contraction mapping principle.  相似文献

In this article, we study the analytical smoothing effect of Cauchy problem for the incompressible Boussinesq equations. Precisely, we use the Fourier method to prove that the Sobolev H~1 -solution to the incompressible Boussinesq equations in periodic domain is analytic for any positive time. So the incompressible Boussinesq equations admit exactly same smoothing effect properties of incompressible Navier-Stokes equations.  相似文献

In part I of the paper (see Zlamal [13]) finite element solutions of the nonstationary semiconductor equations were constructed. Two fully discrete schemes were proposed. One was nonlinear, the other partly linear. In this part of the paper we justify the nonlinear scheme. We consider the case of basic boundary conditions and of constant mobilities and prove that the scheme is unconditionally stable. Further, we show that the approximate solution, extended to the whole time interval as a piecewise linear function, converges in a strong norm to the weak solution of the semiconductor equations. These results represent an extended and corrected version of results announced without proof in Zlamal [14].  相似文献

In this paper, we prove a new type of energy estimate for the compressible Euler equations with free boundary, with a boundary part and an interior part. These can be thought of as a generalization of the energies in Christodoulou and Lindblad to the compressible case and do not require the fluid to be irrotational. In addition, we show that our estimates are in fact uniform in the sound speed k. As a consequence, we obtain convergence of solutions of compressible Euler equations with a free boundary to solutions of the incompressible equations, generalizing the result of Ebin to when you have a free boundary. In the incompressible case our energies reduce to those in Christodoulou and Lindblad, and our proof in particular gives a simplified proof of their estimates with improved error estimates. Since for an incompressible irrotational liquid with free surface there are small data global existence results, our result leaves open the possibility of long‐time existence also for slightly compressible liquids with a free surface.© 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

In this paper we study initial value boundary problems of two types of nonlinear dispersive wave equations on the half-line and on a finite interval subject to homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. We first prove local well-posedness of the rod equation and of the b-equation for general initial data. Furthermore, we are able to specify conditions on the initial data which on the one hand guarantee global existence and on the other hand produce solutions with a finite life span. In the case of finite time singularities we are able to describe the precise blow-up scenario of breaking waves. Our approach is based on sharp extension results for functions on the half-line or on a finite interval and several symmetry preserving properties of the equations under discussion.  相似文献

We study the qualitative behavior of the Boussinesq–Burgers equations on a finite interval subject to the Dirichlet type dynamic boundary conditions. Assuming H1×H2 initial data which are compatible with boundary conditions and utilizing energy methods, we show that under appropriate conditions on the dynamic boundary data, there exist unique global-in-time solutions to the initial-boundary value problem, and the solutions converge to the boundary data as time goes to infinity, regardless of the magnitude of the initial data.  相似文献

In this article we present a unified approach to study the asymptotic behavior and the decay rate to a steady state of bounded weak solutions of nonlinear, gradient-like evolution equations of mixed first and second order. The proof of convergence is based on the Lojasiewicz-Simon inequality, the construction of an appropriate Lyapunov functional, and some differential inequalities. Applications are given to nonautonomous semilinear wave and heat equations with dissipative, dynamical boundary conditions, a nonlinear hyperbolic-parabolic partial differential equation, a damped wave equation and some coupled system.  相似文献

In this article, we study mathematical modeling of thermal drawing of glass fibers. We give a derivation of the effective model from the generalized Oberbeck–Boussinesq equations with free boundary, using singular perturbation expansion. We generalize earlier approaches by taking the isochoric compressible model, with density depending on the temperature, and we handle correctly the viscosity, which changes over several orders of magnitude. For the obtained effective system of nonlinear differential equations, we prove the existence of a stationary solution for the boundary value problem. We impose only physically realistic assumptions on the data (viscosity taking large values with cooling). Finally we present numerical simulations with realistic data.  相似文献

This paper deals with a variant Boussinesq equations which describes the propagation of shallow water waves in a lake or near an ocean beach. We derive out two hetero-B\"{a}cklund transformations between the variant Boussinesq equations and two linear parabolic equations by using the extended homogeneous balance method. We also obtain two hetero-B\"{a}cklund transformations between the variant Boussinesq equations and Burgers equations. Furthermore, we obtain two hetero-B\"{a}cklund transformation between the variant Boussinesq equations and heat equations. By using these B\"{a}cklund transformations and so-called "seed solution", we obtain a large number of explicit exact solutions of the variant Boussinesq equations. Especially, The infinite explicit exact singular wave solutions of variant Boussinesq equations are obtained for the first time. It is worth noting that these singular wave solutions of variant Boussinesq equations will blow up on some lines or curves in the $(x,t)$ plane. These facts reflect the complexity of the structure of the solution of variant Boussinesq equations. It also reflects the complexity of shallow water wave propagation from one aspect.  相似文献

In this paper, we first address the space‐time decay properties for higher‐order derivatives of strong solutions to the Boussinesq system in the usual Sobolev space. The decay rates obtained here are optimal. The proof is based on a parabolic interpolation inequality, bootstrap argument, and some weighted estimates. Secondly, we present a new solution integration formula for the Boussinesq system, which will be employed to establish the existence of strong solutions for small initial data in some scaling invariant function spaces. The smallness conditions are somehow weaker than those presented by Brandolese and Schonbek. We further investigate the asymptotic profiles and decay properties of these strong solutions. In this paper we consider initial boundary value problems for quasilinear parabolic differential inclusions governed by nonmonotone operators of Leray-Lions type and state-dependent subdifferentials. Our main goal is to prove the existence of solutions lying in a sector formed by appropriately defined upper and lower solutions. The main tools used in the proof are abstract results on nonlinear evolution equations, regularization, comparison and truncation techniques as well as special test function techniques  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a spectral collocation method based on Lagrange polynomials for spatial derivatives to obtain numerical solutions for some coupled nonlinear evolution equations. The problem is reduced to a system of ordinary differential equations that are solved by the fourth order Runge–Kutta method. Numerical results of coupled Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equations, coupled modified KdV equations, coupled KdV system and Boussinesq system are obtained. The present results are in good agreement with the exact solutions. Moreover, the method can be applied to a wide class of coupled nonlinear evolution equations.  相似文献
