General synthesis of dinaphtho[2,3-b:2',3'-f]thieno[3,2-b]thiophene (DNTT) derivatives

A new straightforward synthesis of dinaphtho[2,3-b:2',3'-f]thieno[3,2-b]thiophene (DNTT) derivatives from readily available 2-methoxynaphthalenes is described. Thus, newly developed derivatives of DNTT showed very high field effect mobility in the vapor-processed field-effect transistors up to 8 cm(2) V(-1) s(-1).     

Planar beta-linked oligothiophenes based on thieno[3,2-b]thiophene and dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'-d]thiophene fused units

A series of planar beta-linked oligothiophenes based on thieno[3,2-b]thiophene and dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'-d]thiophene fused units were synthesized. The optical data indicate a blue shift of the absorption maximum in comparison to the alpha-linked analogues due to cross-conjugation between fused rings. The crystal structures of 3,3'-bi(thieno[3,2-b]thiophene) and 3,3';6',3"-ter(thieno-[3,2-b]thiophene) reveal edge-to-face pi-stacked dimer motifs, whereas the crystal structure of 3,3'-bis(dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'-d]thiophene) consists of face-to-face pi-stacked molecules. Linear fused dithieno[2,3-b:3'2'-d]thiophene diimides

Linear fused dithieno[2,3-b:3'2'-d]thiophene diimides (DTTDIs, 1-4) were synthesized. Physicochemical investigations suggested that these diimides might be used as potential n-channel organic semiconductors. Single-crystal analysis of N-propyl DTTDI (1) revealed that molecules adopt a layered herringbone packing motif.     

Novel ferroelectric liquid crystals based on fused thieno[3,2-b]furan and thieno[3,2-b]thiophene cores

Several series of new benzofused thieno[3,2-b]furan- and thieno[3,2-b]thiophene-based derivatives have been synthesized and their mesomorphic properties investigated. All the studied compounds exhibit a SmC* phase with very wide temperature interval. Additionally, some types of the compounds show the cholesteric, SmA or blue phase. In the ferroelectric SmC* phase we evaluated physical properties of relevance for possible applications.     

The preparation of 3-chlorothieno[3,2-b] thiophene derivatives from thiophene-2-acrylic acids

Thiophene-2-acrylic acids react with thionyl chloride in the presence of pyridine to form derivatives of 3-chlorothieno[3,2-b]thiophene-2-carbonyl chloride. These compounds are easily converted to the corresponding acids and esters.     

Improved synthesis of dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'-d]thiophene (DTT) and derivatives for cross coupling

An improved synthesis of dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'-d]thiophene (DTT) and its 2,6- and 3,5-dibromo derivatives has been devised; Stille cross coupling of 2,5-(bistrimethylstannyl)-DTT afforded the oligomer 12.     

A rapid stereocontrolled synthesis of the 3a-hydroxy-pyrrolo[2,3-b]indole skeleton, a building block for 10b-hydroxy-pyrazino[1',2':1,5]pyrrolo[2,3-b]indole-1,4-diones

A two-step selenocyclisation-oxidative deselenaton sequence was used to establish the 3a-hydroxy-pyrrolo[2,3-b]indole core; these tricycles were used as effective precursors to 10b-hydroxy-pyrazino[1',2':1,5]pyrrolo[2,3-b]indole-1,4-diones.     

2,2']Bi[naphtho[2,3-b]furanyl]: a versatile organic semiconductor with a furan-furan junction

[2,2']Bi[naphtho[2,3-b]furanyl] was synthesized, characterized, and examined as an organic semiconductor for thin-film OFETs, bilayer OPVs, and organic light-emitting transistors (OLETs). In the devices, the material acted as a p-type semiconductor, showing moderately high mobility in OFETs, good photo conversion efficiency in OPVs, and blue-green emission in OLETs.     

2,5-二(2-菲基)-[3,2-b]并二噻吩的合成、表征及在有机薄膜晶体管中的应用

本文合成了2,5-二(2-菲基)-[3,2-b]并二噻吩(PhTT), 表征了其基本的物理和化学性质, 制备了相应的有机薄膜晶体管.     

Reduced band gap dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'-d]pyrroles: new n-type organic materials via unexpected reactivity

Direct addition of tetracyanoethylene to N-(p-hexylphenyl)dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'-d]pyrrole yields not only the aromatic mono- and bis-tricyanovinyl-substituted products but also a quinoidal product with dicyanomethylene groups. The analogous reaction with dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'-d]thiophene yields exclusively the aromatic mono-tricyanovinyl product. The aromatic and quinoidal products possess red-shifted absorptions, increased electron affinities, and favorable pi-stacking motifs in comparison to the unsubstituted oligomers.     

Condensed heteroaromatic systems including a thiophene ring. XXXIII. Catalytic liquid-phase oxidation of 3-methyl-substituted thieno[2,3-b]thiophenes and thieno[3,2-b]thiophenes

It is shown that the catalytic liquid-phase oxidation of 3-methylthieno[2,3-b]-thiophene and 3-methylthieno[3,2-b]thiophene in acetic acid in the presence of cobalt acetate and sodium bromide at 90–110° gives thieno[2,3-b]thiophene-3-carboxylic acid and thieno[3,2-b]-3-formylthiophene, respectively.See [1] for communication XXXII.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 4, pp. 492–498, April, 1975.     

Furopyridines. XI. 13C NMR Spectra of 2- or 3-Substituted Furo[2,3-b]-, Furo[3,2-b]-, Furo[2,3-c]- and Furo[3,2-c]pyridine

The ¹³C nmr spectra of 2- or 3-monosubstituted furo[2,3-b]- 1a-1j , furo[3,2-b]- 2a-2j , furo[2,3-c]- 3a-3j and furo[3,2-c]pyridine derivatives 4a-4j are reported. Effects by change in annelation and substituent effects on ¹³C chemical shifts and carbon-proton coupling constants are discussed. The spectra of benzo[b]furan derivatives 5a-5j having the corresponding substituent are also reported for comparison.
