In this paper, Lie symmetry method is performed for the Hirota–Ramani (H–R) equation. We will find the symmetry group and optimal systems of Lie subalgebras. Furthermore, preliminary classification of its group invariant solutions, symmetry reduction and nonclassical symmetries are investigated. Density functional theory is used to describe the phase behaviors of rigid molecules. The construction of the kernel function is discussed. Excluded-volume potential is calculated for two types of molecules with C 2v symmetry. Molecular symmetries lead to the symmetries of the kernel function and the density function, enabling a reduction of configuration space. By approximating the kernel function with a polynomial, the system can be fully characterized by some moments corresponding to the form of the kernel function. The symmetries of the kernel function determine the form of the polynomial, while the coefficients are determined by the temperature and molecular parameters. The analysis of the impact of coefficients helps us to choose independent variables in the moments as order parameters. Combining the analysis and some simulation results, we propose a minimal set of order parameters for bent-core molecules.  相似文献

It is shown that the forced Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation studied in the recent papers [A.H. Salas, Computing solutions to a forced KdV equation, Nonlinear Anal. RWA 12 (2011) 1314–1320] and [M.L. Gandarias, M.S. Bruzón, Some conservation laws for a forced KdV equation, Nonlinear Anal. RWA 13 (2012) 2692–2700] is reduced to the classical (constant-coefficient) KdV equation by point transformations for all values of variable coefficients. The equivalence-based approach proposed in [R.O. Popovych, O.O. Vaneeva, More common errors in finding exact solutions of nonlinear differential equations: part I, Commun. Nonlinear Sci. Numer. Simul. 15 (2010) 3887–3899] allows one to obtain more results in a much simpler way.  相似文献

We consider the Riemann problem for a class of 2?×?2 systems of conservation laws which do not satisfy the strictly hyperbolicity condition. Our main assumption is that the product of non-diagonal elements within the F?echet derivative (Jacobian) of the flux is nonnegative. By improving a vanishing viscosity approach, we establish the existence of solutions to the Riemann problem for those systems.  相似文献

In this paper the classical Brodskiǐ—Liv?ic— operator colligation is generalized to certain pairs of bounded linear operators and the corresponding characteristic operator—valued (transfer) function is introduced. The fundamental results due to M.S. Brodskiǐ, M.S. Liv?ic, and V.P. Potapov are then extended to such colligations. These new types of colligations can be used to obtain, for instance, realization results for general Herglotz—Nevanlinna functions.  相似文献

In this article I offer a challenge to the usual account of the development of the Manchester Baby. In doing so, I focus on the contribution made to the project by the topologist Max Newman and other members of the Manchester Department of Mathematics. Based on a re-examination of the primary source material, I suggest that a much more significant role was played by mathematicians than is allowed for in the dominant discourse. I argue that there was a single computer-building project at Manchester in the years immediately following World War II which was conceived, led, funded, supplied and staffed by Newman supported by his long-time friend Patrick Blackett.  相似文献

By solving the zero-curvature equation associated with a 3 × 3 matrix spectral problem, a super hierarchy of coupled derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equations is proposed. The corresponding super bi-Hamiltonian structures are established by means of the super trace identity. By introducing the conception "relativistic differential Galois group" for the second order polynomial systems, we establish the relation between the conformal relativistic differential Galois group and the subgroup of Mobius transformations, and prove that the system is integrable in the sense of Liouville if its conformal relativistic differential Galois group is solvable with a derived length at most 2. Some omissions on the structures of solvable subgroups of Mobius transformations at the first author's article published in this journal in 1996 are refreshed in this paper.  相似文献
