In this paper, we generalize the Bochner-Kodaira formulas to the case of Hermitian com- plex (possibly non-holomorphic) vector bundles over compact Hermitian (possibly non-K¨ahler) mani- folds. In this article we study the behavior of harmonic maps from compact connected Lie groups with bi-invariant metrics into a Hilbert orthogonal group. In particular, we will demonstrate that any such harmonic map always has image contained within someO(n),n<∞. Since homomorphisms are a special subset of the harmonic maps we get as a corollary an extension of the Peter-Weyl theorem, namely, that every representation of a connected compact Lie group is finite dimensional. In this article, we introduce a new method for manufacturing harmonic morphisms from semi-Riemannian manifolds. This is employed to yield a variety of new examples from the compact Lie groups SO(n), SU(n) and Sp(n) equipped with their standard Riemannian metrics. We develop a duality principle and show how this can be used to construct the first known examples of harmonic morphisms from the non-compact Lie groups , SU *(2n), , SO *(2n), SO(p, q), SU(p, q) and Sp(p, q) equipped with their standard dual semi-Riemannian metrics.   相似文献

Let be a prime number and be a compact Lie group. A homology decomposition for the classifying space is a way of building up to mod homology as a homotopy colimit of classifying spaces of subgroups of . In this paper we develop techniques for constructing such homology decompositions. Jackowski, McClure and Oliver (Homotopy classification of self-maps of BG via -actions, Ann. of Math. 135 (1992), 183-270) construct a homology decomposition of by classifying spaces of -stubborn subgroups of . Their decomposition is based on the existence of a finite-dimensional mod acyclic --complex with restricted set of orbit types. We apply our techniques to give a parallel proof of the -stubborn decomposition of which does not use this geometric construction.

We determine the critical indexes for theL p,q uniform boundedness of the characters of a compact connected semisimple Lie group. These results show a basic difference between the simple and the semisimple case, a situation which does not appear when dealing withL p spaces. We study the mod 2 homology of the double and triple loop spaces of homogeneous spaces associated with exceptional Lie groups. The main computational tools are the Serre spectral sequence for fibrations Ωn+1GΩn+1(G/H)→ΩnH for n=1,2, and the Eilenberg-Moore spectral sequence associated with related fiber squares, which both converge to the same destination space H(Ωn(G/H);F2). In this paper we give global characterisations of Gevrey–Roumieu and Gevrey–Beurling spaces of ultradifferentiable functions on compact Lie groups in terms of the representation theory of the group and the spectrum of the Laplace–Beltrami operator. Furthermore, we characterise their duals, the spaces of corresponding ultradistributions. For the latter, the proof is based on first obtaining the characterisation of their α-duals in the sense of Köthe and the theory of sequence spaces.
