We study the moving bright solitons in the weak attractive Bose–Einstein condensate with a spin–orbit interaction. By solving the coupled nonlinear Schr ?dinger equation with the variational method and the imaginary time evolution method,two kinds of solitons(plane wave soliton and stripe solitons) are found in different parameter regions. It is shown that the soliton speed dominates its structure. The detuning between the Raman beam and energy states of the atoms decides the spin polarization strength of the system. The soliton dynamics is also studied for various moving speed and we find that the shape of individual components can be kept when the speed of soliton is low.  相似文献

The property of matter-wave vector solitons in a spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensate with spin-orbit and Zeeman couplings is investigated by multiscale perturbation method. The excitation spectrum and the corresponding state vectors of the system are obtained analytically, and they can be adjusted by the parameters of the system. The bright and dark vector solitons are formulated by reducing the three-component coupled Gross-Pitaeviskii equations to a standard nonlinear Schrödinger equation, which has the solutions of the bright and dark solitons with positive or negative mass depending on the product of the effective dispersive and nonlinear coefficients. The moving vector solitons are demonstrated by adjusting specific momentum near the energy minimum. Finally, the magnetized features of the vector solitons are discussed by the spin polarization of the system.  相似文献

An extended variation approach to describing the dynamic evolution of self-attractive Bose-Einstein condensates is developed. We consider bright matter-wave solitons in the presence of a parabolic magnetic potential and a time-space periodic optical lattice. The dynamics of condensates is shown to be well approximated by four coupled nonlinear differential equations. A noteworthy feature is that the extended variation approach gives a critical strength ratio to support multiple stable lattice sites for the condensate. We further examine the existence of the solitons and their stabilities at the multiple stable lattice sites. In this case, the analytical predictions of Bose-Einstein condensates variational dynamics are found to be in good agreement with numerical simulations. We then find a stable region for successful manipulating matter-wave solitons without collapse, which are dragged from an initial stationary to a prescribed position by a moving periodic optical lattice.  相似文献

Two coupled dark solitons are considered in a two-component Bose-Einstein condensate, and their dynamics are investigated by the variational approach based the renormalized integrals of motion. The stationary states as physical solutions to the describing equations are obtained, and the dynamic mechanism is demonstrated by performing a coordinate of a classical particle moving in an effective potential field. The switching and selftrapping dynamics of the coupled dark vector solitons are discussed by the evolution of the atom population transferring ratio.  相似文献

We investigate the moving matter-wave solitons in spin-orbit coupled Bose-Einstein condensates(BECs) by a perturbation method.Starting with the one-dimensional Gross-Pitaevskii equations,we derive a new KdV-like equation to which an approximate solution is obtained by assuming weak Raman coupling and strong spinorbit coupling.The derivation of the KdV-like equation may be useful to understand the properties of solitons excitation in spin-orbit coupled BECs.We find different types of moving solitons:dark-bright,bright-bright and dark-dark solitons.Interestingly,moving dark-dark soliton for attractive intra- and inter-species interactions is found,which depends on the Raman coupling.The amplitude and velocity of the moving solitons strongly depend on the Raman coupling and spin-orbit coupling.  相似文献

We analyze the stationary state properties of an atomic Bose-Einstein condensate coupled to a molecular condensate via a Raman photoassociation process using Gross-Pitaevskii and modified Gross-Pitaevskii model and compare the results. We find that the static properties depend crucially on the Raman detuning parameter, which can be experimentally varied. We also show how the analytical expressions for densities of atoms and molecules of the hybrid system can be found in the Thomas-Fermi approximation where kinetic energies are not included. We have explored the feasibility of maximum molecular BEC formation by varying the Raman detuning.  相似文献

We investigate the stability and collision dynamics of dissipative matter-wave solitons formed in a quasi-onedimensional Bose-Einstein condensate with linear gain and three-body recombination loss perturbed by a weak optical lattice.It is shown that the linear gain can modify the stability of the single dissipative soliton moving in the optical lattice.The collision dynamics of two individual dissipative matter-wave solitons explicitly depend on the linear gain parameter,and they display different dynamical behaviors in both the in-phase and out-of-phase interaction regimes.  相似文献

We consider the dynamics of bright solitons in one dimensional Bose Einstein condensate with spin orbit coupling and trapped by an optical lattice potential. We mainly focus on the effects of the spin orbit coupling, Rabi coupling and detuning parameter on the soliton dynamics. The solution of the coupled Gross Pitaevskii equation is performed with the help of the variational and numerical methods for various parameters. The population imbalance and the center of mass motion show different dynamic behaviors depending on the parameters. We also obtain traveling bright solitons related with a given finite initial momentum.  相似文献

We experimentally study the fluid flow induced by a broad, penetrable barrier moving through an elongated dilute gaseous Bose-Einstein condensate. The barrier is created by a laser beam swept through the condensate, and the resulting dipole potential can be either attractive or repulsive. We examine both cases and find regimes of stable and unstable fluid flow: At slow speeds of the barrier, the fluid flow is steady due to the superfluidity of the condensate. At intermediate speeds, we observe an unsteady regime in which the condensate gets filled with dark solitons. At faster speeds, soliton formation completely ceases, and a remarkable absence of excitation in the condensate is seen again.  相似文献

The superfluid-Mott insulator phase transition in a Bose-Einstein condensate of neutral atoms with doubly degenerate internal ground states in an optical lattice is theoretically investigated. The optical lattice is created by two counterpropagating linearly polarized laser beams with the angle theta between the polarization vectors (lin-angle-lin configuration). The phase diagram of the system and the critical values of the parameters are worked out. It is shown that the sign of the detuning plays an important role and that there is a strong suppression of the Mott transition in the case of blue detuning. Varying the laser intensity and/or the angle theta one can manipulate the Mott insulator to superfluid quantum phase transition as well as prepare the condensate in physically distinguishable "ferromagnetic" and "antiferromagnetic" superfluid states.  相似文献

We investigate the stability properties of breather solitons in a three-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensate with Feshbach resonance management of the scattering length and confined only by a one-dimensional optical lattice. We compare regions of stability in parameter space obtained from a fully 3D analysis with those from a quasi-two-dimensional treatment. For moderate confinement we discover a new island of stability in the 3D case, not present in the quasi-2D treatment. Stable solutions from this region have non-trivial dynamics in the lattice direction; hence, they describe fully 3D breather solitons. We demonstrate these solutions in direct numerical simulations and outline a possible way of creating robust 3D solitons in experiments in a Bose-Einstein condensate in a one-dimensional lattice. We have created spatial dark solitons in two-component Bose-Einstein condensates in which the soliton exists in one of the condensate components and the soliton nodal plane is filled with the second component. The filled solitons are stable for hundreds of milliseconds. The filling can be selectively removed, making the soliton more susceptible to dynamical instabilities. For a condensate in a spherically symmetric potential, these instabilities cause the dark soliton to decay into stable vortex rings. We have imaged the resulting vortex rings.  相似文献

We show that in an atomic Fermi gas near a Feshbach resonance the crossover between a Bose-Einstein condensate of diatomic molecules and a Bose-Einstein condensate of Cooper pairs occurs at positive detuning, i.e., when the molecular energy level lies in the two-atom continuum. We determine the crossover temperature as a function of the applied magnetic field and find excellent agreement with the experiment of C. A. Regal et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 92, 040403 (2004)]] who has recently observed this crossover temperature.  相似文献

We present numerical results of a one-dimensional spin-orbit coupled Bose-Einstein condensate expanding in a speckle disorder potential by employing the Gross-Pitaevskii equation. Localization properties of a spin-orbit coupled Bose-Einstein condensate in zero-momentum phase, magnetic phase and stripe phase are studied. It is found that the localizing behavior in the zero-momentum phase is similar to the normal Bose-Einstein condensate. Moreover, in both magnetic phase and stripe phase, the localization length changes non-monotonically as the fitting interval increases. In magnetic phases, the Bose-Einstein condensate will experience spin relaxation in disorder potential.  相似文献

We study the quantum coherent tunneling dynamics of two weakly coupled atomic-molecular Bose-Einstein condensates (AMBEC). A weak link is supposed to be provided by a double-well trap. The regions of parameters where the macroscopic quantum localization of the relative atomic population occurs are revealed. The different dynamical regimes are found depending on the value of nonlinearity, namely, coupled oscillations of population imbalance of atomic and molecular condensate, including irregular oscillations regions, and macroscopic quantum self trapping regimes. Quantum means and quadrature variances are calculated for population of atomic and molecular condensates and the possibility of quadrature squeezing is shown via stochastic simulations within P-positive phase space representation method. 利用变分近似及基于Gross-Pitaevskii方程的直接数值模拟方法,研究了自旋-轨道耦合玻色-爱因斯坦凝聚体中线性塞曼劈裂对亮孤子动力学的影响,发现线性塞曼劈裂将导致体系具有两个携带有限动量的静态孤子,以及它们在微扰下存在一个零能的Goldstone激发模和一个频率与线性塞曼劈裂有关的谐振激发模.同时给出了描述孤子运动的质心坐标表达式,发现线性塞曼劈裂明显影响孤子的运动速度和振荡周期.  相似文献
