Zusammenfassung Die photochemische Cyclodimerisierung vonNVC geht nur in Anwesenheit geeigneter Stoffe, wie Hg(CN)₂, Pb(SCN)₂, Cd(NO₃)₂ und Sauerstoff, vor sich. Andere paramagnetische Stoffe, wie Lanthan- und Mangansalze, sind wirkungslos.Durch Oxidationsmittel, wie Fe(III)-Salze, erhält man bei rigorosem Ausschluß von Licht und Sauerstoff kein Dimeres, sondern — je nach Medium — verschiedene Oxidationsprodukte.Die photochemisch angeregte Polymerisation und die Dimerisierung scheinen über eine gemeinsame Zwischenstufe abzulaufen. Bei genügend hoher Konzentration von Hg(CN)₂ wird die Polymerisation ganz zurückgedrängt.Die Dimerisierung verläuft nach 1. Ordnung bezüglich derNVC-Konzentration und Lichtintensität und ist oberhalb einer bestimmten Hg(CN)₂-Konzentration von dieser unabhängig.

Die photochemische Reduktion von 4,6-Dimethyl-2-pyrimidinol

π,π*-Excitation of 4,6-dimethyl-2-pyrimidinol in methanol leads to an addition product 5 whereas in 2-propanol a dihydrodimer 3 is formed. By acid catalysis the dihydrodimer gives the 5, 9-methano-2H-pyrimido[5,6-e] [1,3]diazepine-2,7(1H)-dione 7 which with stronger acids rearranges to the 2H-cyclopentapyrimidin-2-one 8 . Nitrous acid reacts with the dihydrodimer yielding the dioxime of 2-hydroxy-4,6-pyrimidinedicarbaldehyde.

Die photochemische reaktion von decacarbonyl-dirhenium mit cyclischen und acyclischen olefinen

Re₂(CO)₁₀ reacts on photochemical induction with acyclic or cyclic olefins with one to four CC bonds. The main products are octacarbonyl-μ-hydrido-μ-olefinyl-dirheniumm complexes. Isomerism of the olefinyl ligands is observed. In some cases the simple substitution products enneacarbonyl-η-olefindirhenium can be isolated. With cyclopentadiene and cycloheptatriene tricarbonyl-η⁵-cyclodienylrhenium compounds are the favoured side products. Ethylene yields Re₂(CO)₈H complexes with vinyl and 1-buten-1-yl bridges. Additionally trinuclear complexes with one and two vinyl bridges are obtained. The complexes are characterized spectroscopically.

The cyclic amidine group of the 8-amino-2,3,5,5a-tetrahydro-5,8a-propeno-6H,11H-pyrrolo[3,4-g]-1-pyrindine ( 2 ) undergoes photochemical tautomerism. In this reaction the dihydropyridine group of a second molecule of 2 acts as a sensitizer.
