一种基于普通用户终端的测试信息收集方法

鉴于常用的网络测试方法存在诸多不足,文章提出了一种基于普通用户终端的测试信息收集方法。该方法在自动收集与网络相关的客观信息的同时,也会请求用户反馈个人的主观体验,进而为网络管理者提供更多的信息。此外,该方法的执行不受时间和空间的限制,因此,可以收集到更广泛和全面的信息,具有很强的实际应用价值。

Scalable RF MEMS Switch Matrices: Methodology and Design

This paper proposes new solutions for implementing wideband large switch matrices. These solutions are based on crossbar and L-shaped topologies. This paper introduces a high-performance wideband switch cell to build up scalable ${ N} times { N}$ switch matrices and gives an account of the design, fabrication, and characteristics of the switch cell and a 3$,times,$ 3 crossbar switch matrix. The chosen design procedure is seen to be appropriate since it produces valid measured results. In addition, this paper presents an RF microelectromechanical systems L-shaped switch matrix, which indicates less variation of characteristics for certain types of connectivity. It also demonstrates that for a 4$,times,$ 4 switch matrix, there is a 50% improvement in insertion loss and phase-shift variation.

互联网站点实现来自不同ISP用户的快速访问——智能DNS解决方案

目前中国有中国电信、网通、移动、联通、铁通等ISP（互联网服务提供者），由于各ISP通信网络互联的成本、地域及其他因素，各ISP用户访问位于其他ISP的互联网站点速度较慢且不稳定，严重影响了用户体验和互联网发展。目前各大网站都通过各种办法解决这个问题，如托管于BGP机房、使用两套域名等。文中阐述了一个切实可行且成本相对较低的解决方案，即在各重要ISP建立网站镜像，并通过建立智能DNS（域名服务），引导用户访问速度最快的网站镜像的方案；重点描述实现智能DNS的方法。

A storage-efficient method for solving banded Toeplitz systems

A method is presented for solving the banded Toeplitz system Tx=y by decomposing T into its asymptotic upper and lower triangular factors (which are banded and Toeplitz) and a rank-p correction matrix, where p is the bandwidth of T. This way of representing T requires only O(p²) words of storage and allows computation of x in O(2Np) operations. A similar method is presented for the case in which T is bi-infinite and y is zero outside a finite region

This article firstly details the problems which are preventing industry from making the most of billion transistor chips, such a high power requirements, memory latency of both main and cache storage, and compiler inability to make use of hardware enhancements. It then examines the strategy of using multiple processors in order to speed up software execution.     

A look-ahead Levinson algorithm for general Toeplitz systems

The authors present an extension of Levinson's algorithm that is guaranteed to be weakly stable for a large class of general Toeplitz matrices, namely, those that do not have many consecutive ill-conditioned leading principal submatrices. The new algorithm adapts itself to the given Toeplitz matrix by skipping over all the ill-conditioned leading principal submatrices encountered during the solution process. This is done by a look-ahead strategy that monitors the condition of the leading principal submatrices and, if necessary, switches to a block step of suitable size. The overhead of the look-ahead algorithm is typically small compared to the classical Levinson algorithm, and in addition a reliable condition number estimate is produced     

Robustness of the Filtered-X LMS Algorithm— Part I: Necessary Conditions for Convergence and the Asymptotic Pseudospectrum of Toeplitz Matrices

Errors in the secondary path model of the filtered-x LMS (FXLMS) algorithm will lead to its divergence when the eigenvalues of the cross-correlation matrix between the estimated filtered reference and the true filtered reference signals are not all located in the right half plane. This cross-correlation matrix has a (block) Toeplitz structure whose dimension is determined by the number of adaptive filter coefficients. Using results on the asymptotic pseudospectrum of Toeplitz matrices, a frequency-domain condition on the model is derived to ensure stability. The condition is sufficient and necessary for a large number of filter coefficients. A transient analysis shows that the sufficient condition given by Wang and Ren [1999] is only necessary to prevent an initial increase of the error in the adaptive filter coefficients (critical behavior).

A Method for Symmetrizing Generalized Impedance Matrices

Determining the behavior of a body such as an electromagnetic shield in a known impressed field is a fundamental problem of applied electromagnetic theory. For bodies whose shape does not conform to a separable coordinate system, numerical techniques such as the method of moments have been found particularly advantageous. While the application of the method of moments may appear straightforward, its major limitation is the size of the generalized impedance matrix (usually nonsymmetrical) needed to determine accurately the variations of the unknowns. This paper describes a method to symmetrize, and hence reduce, the generalized impedance matrix. Examples for applying this method are provided.

A Buffer-Oriented Methodology for Microarchitecture Validation

We propose a methodology for validating microarchitecture specifications. We view microarchitecture features as specific operations on entries of various buffers in the processor. Our validation approach is to determine the functionality of a buffer type, model its operations at the microarchitecture level using abstract finite state machine (FSM) models, and rigorously generate instruction sequences that systematically exercise the model of each instance of that buffer type. A high-level test sequence is derived based on the abstract FSM model using FSM testing techniques, and then translated to a test program that exercises the functionality of each buffer entry. This methodology is applied to the microarchitecture specifications of the PowerPC 604. The effectiveness of the sequences generated using our methodology is compared with that of some real and randomly-generated programs. Simulation results show that all targeted FSM transitions are covered by our sequences with at least 1000 × and 3 × fewer instructions than real and randomly-generated programs, respectively.     

A Methodology for Transistor-Efficient Supergate Design

The number of transistors required for the implementation of a logic function is a fundamental consideration in digital VLSI design. While the determination of a series-parallel implementation can be straightforward once a simplified Boolean expression of the function is available, this may not be an optimum solution. In this paper, a methodology is developed for minimizing the number of transistors that starts from a sum-of-products expression and utilizes non-series-parallel structures. Experimental results demonstrate the efficiency of the approach
