Preparation and photoluminescence of Sc-doped ZnO nanowires   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
We demonstrate bulk synthesis of single-crystal Sc-doped ZnO nanowires by using (Sc+Zn) powders at . These mass nanowires are characterized through X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), selected area electron diffraction, and high-resolution TEM, which have uniform diameters of about 40 nm and microns of several decades in length. The growth of ZnScO nanowires is suggested for self-catalyzed vapor–liquid–solid. In particular, PL spectra of these nanowires show emission peaks that intensely shift to long wavelength with increasing Sc and the doping quantity is found responsible for the different characteristics, in which PL mechanism is explained in detail.  相似文献

Highly oriented GaN nanowire arrays have been achieved by the catalytic reaction of gallium with ammonium. The resulting materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and selected-area electron diffraction (SAED). SEM images show that the resulting materials are nanowire arrays with a uniform length of about 10 μm. XRD, EDS, TEM and SAED indicate that the nanowire arrays are single-crystal hexagonal GaN with a wurtzite structure. They have diameters of 10 to 20 nm. The present work reports the synthesis of magnesium oxide (MgO) nanocrystals via a thermal decomposition route and the study of physicochemical properties of products. The MgO nanocrystals were prepared from magnesium oxalate powders as precursor. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis demonstrated MgO nanocrystals with an average diameter of about 20−25 nm. The products were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), selected area electronic diffraction (SAED), and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. Optical absorption and photoluminescence emission properties of MgO nanocrystals were investigated.  相似文献

A room temperature nanocarving strategy is developed for the fabrication of nanoparticles of nickel oxide on zinc-substituted anionic clay matrix (Ni/ZnLDH). It is based on the growth and organization of nanoparticles of nickel oxide which occur during the structural reconstruction of the layered structure of the anionic clay in NiSO4 aqueous solution. No organic compounds are used during the fabrication. The described material was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), IR spectroscopy (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Results show that the nickel-clay nanoarchitecture consists of small nanoparticles of nickel oxide (average size 7 nm) deposited on the larger nanoparticles (average size 90 nm) of zinc-substituted clay. The optical properties of the new nickel-zinc formulation are studied by UV–Vis.  相似文献

The aim of this study to focused on bioinspired synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) as a viable alternative to eradicate the existing physicochemical processes. In this context, the bioinspired AgNPs were synthesized using leaf extract of M. indica. Optimization of the experimental conditions for the rapid and high yield of AgNPs in minimum investment of time and expense have been carried out along with their antibacterial efficacy evaluated. For this reason, the variation of parameters like the concentration of the silver precursors, reducing agent, time, pH, and temperature of synthesis were realized. Synthesized AgNPs were characterized by UV-Visible spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) techniques. UV-Visible spectra gave surface plasmon resonance (SPR) at 440 nm for AgNPs. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques were further confirmed the synthesis and crystalline nature of AgNPs respectively. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observed spherical shapes of synthesized AgNPs within range 5~20 nm. The results of the current study indicate that optimization process play a pivotal role in the AgNPs synthesis and biogenic synthesized AgNPs might be used against bacterial pathogens.  相似文献

GaP nanochains have been synthesized by hydrogen-assisted thermal evaporation, and characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), photoluminescence (PL), and Raman spectroscopy. GaP nanochains possess a (111) twin crystal plane-modulated quasi-periodic structure, that gives a strong green photoluminescence at 618 nm. While the Raman spectrum of the nanochains is similar to that of the GaP crystal, the intensity of the longitudinal optical (LO) peak is stronger than that of the transverse optical (TO) peak, which is supposedly related to the nanochain microstructures.  相似文献

Well-dispersed undoped and Mg-doped ZnO nanoparticles with different doping concentrations at various annealing temperatures are synthesized using basic chemical solution method without any capping agent. To understand the effect of Mg doping and heat treatment on the structure and optical response of the prepared nanoparticles, the samples are characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX), UV–Vis optical absorption, photoluminescence (PL), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) measurements. The UV–Vis absorbance and PL emission show a blue shift with increasing Mg doping concentration with respect to bulk value. UV–Vis spectroscopy is also used to calculate the band-gap energy of nanoparticles. X-ray diffraction results clearly show that the Mg-doped nanoparticles have hexagonal phase similar to ZnO nanoparticles. TEM image as well as XRD study confirm the estimated average size of the samples to be between 6 and 12 nm. Furthermore, it is seen that there was an increase in the grain size of the particles when the annealing temperature is increased.  相似文献

Strontium carbonate nanorods have been successfully synthesized via solid-state decomposition of a new precursor, [Sr(Pht)(H2O)2]. The obtained nanorods were found to be orthorhombic with the length of 70-100 nm and the diameter of about 10-15 nm. The Effect of calcinations temperature on morphology and purity of the products has been investigated. Strontium carbonate nanorods were formed at 500 °C. The products were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. In addition, further evidence for the purity and stoichiometry of the product was obtained by XPS (X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy) spectrum.  相似文献

HgS nanocrystals conjugated with protein were synthesized in aqueous solution of Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) at room temperature. The obtained HgS nanoparticles with average diameter about 20–40 nm were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), selected-area electron diffraction (SAED) and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). The quantum-confined effect of the HgS nanoparticles is confirmed by the ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) and photoluminescence (PL) spectrum. The rescults indicate that the BSA not only induce the nucleation, but inhibit the further growth of HgS nanoparticles. The effect of Hg2+ on BSA and the change of BSA conformation were studied through Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and Circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy. The possible mechanism of HgS nanoparticles growth in the BSA solution was also discussed.  相似文献

A general hydrothermal method was developed to prepare colloidal gadolinium orthovanadate nanocrystals by using supercritical water as a green solvent. The spectacular properties of supercritical water is advantageous for synthesizing crystalline and surface-modified luminescent nanoparticles capped with long alkyl chains of organic modifiers on the surface of the particles to make them dispersible in nonpolar solvents. The size of the nanoparticles could be controlled within 10–15 nm. Characterization of the hydrothermal product was accomplished using X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution TEM, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermo gravimetric analysis, and electron dispersive X-ray scattering. The photoluminescence characterization showed that there is a strong red emission under UV excitation, which broadens the material’s various applications.  相似文献

1 Introduction In the field of wide band gap semiconductors, many studies have been carried out on zinc compounds. For example, ZnO, as a semiconductor material of n-type with a wide direct band gap of 3.37 eV[1—3], can function as transparent conducting films of low cost; ZnO, with an extremely large exciton binding energy of 60 meV and a strong ultra- violet (UV) stimulated emission at room temperature, has enormous potential for serving as short-wave light devices[4], such as light-emit…  相似文献

Polymer-supported nano-amorphous Ni–B particles have been prepared by an ion exchange/chemical reduction protocol. The products were characterized by inductively coupled plasma spectroscopy (ICP), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The polymer-supported Ni–B particles prepared at low temperature are 60–70 nm in size with a Ni–B ratio of Ni19B10.The choice of temperature is a crucial factor affecting particle size.  相似文献

We synthesized zinc sulfide (ZnS) nanopowders with size ranging from 2 to 100 nm by a simple, low-cost, and mass production chemical method. The nanoparticles (NPs) were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and UV-vis absorption spectroscopy. Our study concerns also the change in the refractive index of deionized water in presence of ZnS nanospheres. We present experimental results on effective index variation of water dispersed ZnS NPs at different wavelengths in visible spectrum.  相似文献

This paper reports that nanoporous AlN particles are synthesized from solid-state metathesis reactions using AlCl3 and Mg3N2 as reactants. The samples are characterized by x-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), selected area electron diffraction, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), ultraviolet--visible (UV--vis) absorption spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy. The results show that samples with walls 10 nm in thickness and pores between 10 nm and 100 nm in diameter were produced successfully from these reactions, and their band gap and vibration modes agree with those of AlN bulk crystal.  相似文献

We report a simple soft chemical method for the synthesis of ZnS nanoparticles using varying concentration of cationic surfactant CTAB and examine its surface properties. Powder X-ray diffraction, UV-vis spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy, selective area electron diffraction, and transmission electron microscopy are used to characterize the as prepared ZnS nanoparticles. XRD and TEM measurements show the size of polydispersed ZnS nanoparticles is in the range of 2-5 nm with cubic phase structure. The photoluminescence spectrum of ZnS nanoparticles exhibits four fluorescence emission peaks centered at 387 nm, 412 nm, 489 nm and 528 nm showing the application potential for the optical devices. In Raman spectra of ZnS nanoparticles, the modes around 320, 615 and 700 cm−1 are observed.  相似文献

The optimal parameters are found for preparing nanofluid in our submerged arc nanoparticle synthesis system (SANSS) using a copper electrode. A suspended copper oxide nanofluid is thus produced at the current of 8.5–10 A, voltage of 220 V, pulse duration of 12 μs, and dielectric liquid temperature of 2°C. The CuO nanoparticle are characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), electron diffraction pattern (SAD) and electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis (ESCA). The equality volume spherical diameter of the obtained copper oxide particle is 49.1 nm, regular shape and narrow size distribution.  相似文献

Tin dioxide (SnO2) nanobelts have been successfully synthesized in bulk quantity by a simple and low-cost process based on the thermal evaporation of tin powders at 800 °C. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observations reveal that the nanobelts are uniform, with lengths from several-hundred micrometers to a few millimeters, widths of 60 to 250 nm and thicknesses of 10 to 30 nm. X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and selected-area electron diffraction analysis (SAED) indicate that the nanobelts are tetragonal rutile structure of SnO2. The SnO2 nanobelts grow via a vapor–solid (VS) process. Received: 3 June 2002 / Accepted: 10 June 2002 / Published online: 10 September 2002 RID="*" ID="*"Corresponding author. Porous and trigonal TiO(2) nanoflakes (p-TiO(2)) have been synthesized via a simple hydrothermal calcination process, and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and UV-vis absorption/reflection spectroscopy (UV-vis). The X-ray diffraction patterns of the as-prepared samples show that p-TiO(2) has an anatase structure. Transmission electron microscopy images indicate that p-TiO(2) consists of sheet-like particles with numerous pores about 100nm in diameter. Ultraviolet-visible reflection spectroscopy exhibits that the absorption edge acquires a blue shift with increased calcination temperature. The effects of the calcination temperature, catalyst dosage, and initial rhodamine B (RhB) concentration on the sonocatalytic activity for removing RhB are investigated in detail. The results show that the as-prepared p-TiO(2) obtained at the optimal calcination temperature of 600°C exhibits a higher sonocatalytic activity than commercial P25. Based on the effects of the initial RhB concentration on sonocatalytic activity, the sonocatalytic degradation kinetics of RhB is also investigated.  相似文献
