In this paper, we consider the coisotropic submanifolds in a Kähler manifold of nonnegative holomorphic curvature. We prove an intersection theorem for compact totally geodesic coisotropic submanifolds and discuss some topological obstructions for the existence of such submanifolds. Our results apply to Lagrangian submanifolds and real hypersurfaces since the class of coisotropic submanifolds includes them. As an application, we give a fixed-point theorem for compact Kähler manifolds with positive holomorphic curvature. Also, our results can be further extended to nearly Kähler manifolds.  相似文献

We prove a sharp Sobolev inequality on manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature. Moreover, we prove a Michael-Simon inequality for submanifolds in manifolds with nonnegative sectional curvature. First, we derive a new second variation formula which holds for minimal Legendrian submanifolds in Sasakian manifolds. Using this, we prove that any minimal Legendrian submanifold in an η-Einstein Sasakian manifold with “nonpositive” η-Ricci constant is stable. Next we introduce the notion of the Legendrian stability of minimal Legendrian submanifolds in Sasakian manifolds. Using our second variation formula, we find a general criterion for the Legendrian stability of minimal Legendrian submanifolds in η-Einstein Sasakian manifolds with “positive” η-Ricci constant.  相似文献

We revisit the definition of the Maslov index of loops in coisotropic submanifolds tangent to the characteristic foliation of this submanifold. This Maslov index is given by the mean index of a certain symplectic path which is a lift of the holonomy along the loop. We prove a Maslov index rigidity result for stable coisotropic submanifolds in a broad class of ambient symplectic manifolds. Furthermore, we establish a nearby existence theorem for the same class of ambient manifolds.  相似文献

Summary We introduce a class of submanifolds, namely, Generalized Cauchy--Riemann (GCR) lightlike submanifolds of indefinite Kaehler manifolds. We show that this new class is an umbrella of invariant (complex), screen real [8] and CR lightlike [6] submanifolds. We study the existence (or non-existence) of this new class in an indefinite space form. Then, we prove characterization theorems on the existence of totally umbilical, irrotational screen real, complex and CR minimal lightlike submanifolds. We also give one example each of a non totally geodesic proper minimal GCR and CR lightlike submanifolds.  相似文献

In this paper, we study eigenvalues of elliptic operators in divergence form on compact Riemannian manifolds with boundary (possibly empty) and obtain a general inequality for them. By using this inequality, we prove universal inequalities for eigenvalues of elliptic operators in divergence form on compact domains of complete submanifolds in a Euclidean space, and of complete manifolds admitting special functions which include the Hadamard manifolds with Ricci curvature bounded below, a class of warped product manifolds, the product of Euclidean spaces with any complete manifold and manifolds admitting eigenmaps to a sphere.  相似文献

Hamiltonian stationary Lagrangians are Lagrangian submanifolds that are critical points of the volume functional under Hamiltonian deformations. They are natural generalizations of special Lagrangians or Lagrangian and minimal submanifolds. In this paper, we obtain a local condition that gives the existence of a smooth family of Hamiltonian stationary Lagrangian tori in K?hler manifolds. This criterion involves a weighted sum of holomorphic sectional curvatures. It can be considered as a complex analogue of the scalar curvature when the weighting are the same. The problem is also studied by Butscher and Corvino (Hamiltonian stationary tori in Kahler manifolds, 2008).  相似文献

We give a homotopy classification of foliations on open contact manifolds whose leaves are contact submanifolds of the ambient space. The result is an extension of Haefliger’s classification of foliations on open manifold in the contact setting. While proving the main theorem, we also prove a result on equidimensional isocontact immersions on open contact manifolds.  相似文献

In this paper we study transversality on infinite dimensional manifolds with corners. We deal with transversality, boundary-transversality and weak-boundary-transversality, characterize these three notions by means of the infinitesimal transversality, construct submanifolds as inverse image of submanifolds by transversal maps and prove parametrized theorems about the density of weak-boundary-transversality and boundary-transversality, which generalize the corresponding Abraham and Quinn theorems.  相似文献

We show that Lagrangian submanifolds in six-dimensional nearly Kähler (non-Kähler) manifolds and in twistor spaces Z 4n+2 over quaternionic Kähler manifolds Q 4n are minimal. Moreover, we prove that any Lagrangian submanifold L in a nearly Kähler manifold M splits into a product of two Lagrangian submanifolds for which one factor is Lagrangian in the strict nearly Kähler part of M and the other factor is Lagrangian in the Kähler part of M. Using this splitting theorem, we then describe Lagrangian submanifolds in nearly Kähler manifolds of dimensions six, eight, and ten.  相似文献

In this paper we study eigenvalues of a clamped plate problem on compact domains in complete manifolds. For complete manifolds admitting special functions, we prove universal inequalities for eigenvalues of clamped plate problem independent of the domains of Payne?CPólya?CWeinberger?CYang type. These manifolds include Hadamard manifolds with Ricci curvature bounded below, a class of warped product manifolds, the product of Euclidean spaces with any complete manifolds and manifolds admitting eigenmaps to a sphere. In the case of warped product manifolds, our result implies a universal inequality on hyperbolic space proved by Cheng?CYang. We also strengthen an inequality for eigenvalues of clamped plate problem on submanifolds in a Euclidean space obtained recently by Cheng, Ichikawa and Mametsuka.  相似文献

In this article, we give sufficient conditions for a complete non-compact submanifold in a simply connected manifold of negative sectional curvature to have only one end. We study the Dirac–Witten operator for spacelike spin submanifolds in pseudo-Riemannian manifolds. When the normal bundles are spin and odd-dimensional, we derive new eigenvalue lower bounds. We also prove the generalized positive mass theorem using this operator.  相似文献

In this paper we prove a symmetry result on submanifolds of codimension one in a (n + 1)-dimensional space form, related to the geodesic distance and to the normal curvature of some fixed vector field. Warped product manifolds are known to have applications in physics. For instance, they provide an excellent setting to model space-time near a black hole or a massive star (cf. [9]). The studies on warped product manifolds with extrinsic geometric point of view were intensified after the B.Y. Chen's work on CR-warped product submanifolds of Kaehler manifolds (cf. [6], [7]). Later on, similar studies were carried out in the setting of 1.c.K. manifolds and nearly Kaehler manifolds (el. [3], [11]). In the present article, we investigate a larger class of warped product submanifolds of 1.c.K. manifolds, ensure their existence by constructing an example of such manifolds and obtain some important properties of these submanifolds. With regard to the CR-warped product submanifold, a special case of generic warped product submanifolds, we obtain a characterization under which a CR-submanifold is reducesd to a CR-warped product submanifold.  相似文献
