Let M3 be a non-compact hyperbolic 3-manifold that has a triangulation by positively oriented ideal tetrahedra. We show that the gluing variety defined by the gluing consistency equations is a smooth complex manifold with dimension equal to the number of boundary components of M3. Moreover, we show that the complex lengths of any collection of non-trivial boundary curves, one from each boundary component, give a local holomorphic parameterization of the gluing variety. As an application, some estimates for the size of hyperbolic Dehn surgery space of once-punctured torus bundles are given.  相似文献

It is proved that an endomorphism φ of a hyperbolic group G satisfies a Hölder condition with respect to a visual metric if and only if φ is virtually injective and Gφ is a quasiconvex subgroup of G. It is shown that, for any bounded, injective operator C, the class of injective, densely defined operators with dense range and nonempty resolvent that generate bounded holomorphic C-regularized semigroups is closed under inversion, but, for any n ∈ N, the class of injective, densely defined operators with dense range that generate bounded holomorphic n-times integrated semigroups is very far from being closed under inversion: it is shown that, if both A and A-1 generate bounded holomorphic n-times integrated semigroups of sufficiently large angle θ, then they both generate strongly continuous bounded holomorphic semigroups of angle θ.  相似文献

Given a non-positively curved 2-complex with a circle-valued Morse function satisfying some extra combinatorial conditions, we describe how to locally isometrically embed this in a larger non-positively curved 2-complex with free-by-cyclic fundamental group. This embedding procedure is used to produce examples of CAT(0) free-by-cyclic groups that contain closed hyperbolic surface subgroups with polynomial distortion of arbitrary degree. We also produce examples of CAT(0) hyperbolic free-by-cyclic groups that contain closed hyperbolic surface subgroups that are exponentially distorted.  相似文献

We investigate a class of metrics for 2-manifolds in which, except for a discrete set of singular points, the metric is locally isometric to an L1 (or equivalently L) metric, and show that with certain additional conditions such metrics are injective. We use this construction to find the tight span of squaregraphs and related graphs, and we find an injective metric that approximates the distances in the hyperbolic plane analogously to the way the rectilinear metrics approximate the Euclidean distance.  相似文献

We consider fine topology in the complex plane C and finely harmonic morphisms. We use oriented Jordan curves in the plane to prove that for a finely locally injective finely harmonic morphism f in a fine domain in C, either f or f is a finely holomorphic function. This partially extends result by Fuglede, who considered a kind of continuity for the fine derivatives of the finely harmonic morphism. As a consequence of this we obtain a both necessary and sufficient condition for a function f to be finely holomorphic or finely antiholomorphic. We do not know if the condition of finely local injectivity (q.e.) is automatically fulfilled by any non-constant finely harmonic morphism.  相似文献

In this paper we study a large class of Weingarten surfaces which includes the constant mean curvature one surfaces and flat surfaces in the hyperbolic 3-space. We show that these surfaces can be parametrized by holomorphic data like minimal surfaces in the Euclidean 3-space and we use it to study their completeness. We also establish some existence and uniqueness theorems by studing the Plateau problem at infinity: when is a given curve on the ideal boundary the asymptotic boundary of a complete surface in our family? and, how many embedded solutions are there?

We consider the inverse problem for the second order self-adjoint hyperbolic equation in a bounded domain in R n with lower order terms depending analytically on the time variable. We prove that, assuming the BLR condition, the time-dependent Dirichlet-to-Neumann operator prescribed on a part of the boundary uniquely determines the coefficients of the hyperbolic equation up to a diffeomorphism and a gauge transformation. As a by-product we prove a similar result for the nonself-adjoint hyperbolic operator with time-independent coefficients.  相似文献

The author obtains a Weierstrass representation for surfaces with prescribed normal Gauss map and Gauss curvature in H3. A differential equation about the hyperbolic Gauss map is also obtained, which characterizes the relation among the hyperbolic Gauss map, the normal Gauss map and Gauss curvature. The author discusses the harmonicity of the normal Gauss map and the hyperbolic Gauss map from surface with constant Gauss curvature in H3 to S2 with certain altered conformal metric. Finally, the author considers the surface whose normal Gauss map is conformal and derives a completely nonlinear differential equation of second order which graph must satisfy.  相似文献

The rigidity for full holomorphic isometric immersions of an indefinite Kähler manifold into an indefinite complex space form is proved. It is shown that timelike surfaces of constant mean curvature ± in anti-de Sitter 3-space ?3 1(?1) can be constructed from a pair of Lorentz holomorphic and Lorentz antiholomorphic null curves in ?SL2? via Bryant type representation formulae. These Bryant type representation formulae are used to investigate an explicit one-to-one correspondence, the so-called Lawson–Guichard correspondence, between timelike surfaces of constant mean curvature ± 1 and timelike minimal surfaces in Minkowski 3-space E 3 1. The hyperbolic Gauß map of timelike surfaces in ?3 1(?1), which is a close analogue of the classical Gauß map is considered. It is discussed that the hyperbolic Gauß map plays an important role in the study of timelike surfaces of constant mean curvature ± 1 in ?3 1(?1). In particular, the relationship between the Lorentz holomorphicity of the hyperbolic Gauß map and timelike surface of constant mean curvature ± 1 in ?3 1(?1) is studied.  相似文献

A linear ordering is Debreu (respectively, pointwise Debreu) if each of its suborderings can be mapped into it with an order-preserving function that is both injective (respectively, locally injective) and continuous (respectively, locally continuous) with respect to the order topology on both spaces. Each Debreu linear ordering is pointwise Debreu, but the converse does not hold. In the context of utility representations in mathematical economics, it has been proved that any lexicographic power with an uncountable exponent fails to be Debreu. We sharpen this result by analyzing lexicographic powers that are pointwise Debreu.  相似文献
