For every Tychonoff space X we denote by Cp(X) the set of all continuous real-valued functions on X with the pointwise convergence topology, i.e., the topology of subspace of RX. A set P is a frame for the space Cp(X) if Cp(X)⊂PRX. We prove that if Cp(X) embeds in a σ-compact space of countable tightness then X is countable. This shows that it is natural to study when Cp(X) has a frame of countable tightness with some compactness-like property. We prove, among other things, that if X is compact and the space Cp(X) has a Lindelöf frame of countable tightness then t(X)?ω. We give some generalizations of this result for the case of frames as well as for embeddings of Cp(X) in arbitrary spaces.  相似文献

Pairings and copairings of topological spaces induce pairings of function spaces. These induced pairings of function spaces are studied. For this purpose, the C-open topology of function spaces is studied for subcategories C of Top. It is shown that the C-open topology enjoys good properties for homotopy theory. Making use of the C-open topology, theory of induced pairings is established and fundamental results on pairings which deduce various commutativity properties of elements in homotopy set are extended to function spaces.  相似文献

We prove that whenever X is zero-dimensional metrizable with σ-compact set of accumulation points and K   is compact metrizable, the function space KXKX endowed with the compact-open topology is a compact-covering image of the product of the irrationals and the Cantor cube. In particular, for any metrizable E  , the iterated function space E(KX)E(KX) is perfectly normal and paracompact. However, there is a closed subgroup G   of {0,1}X{0,1}X with X   as above whose space of characters GG is not normal.  相似文献

Let sR, τ∈[0,∞), p∈(1,∞) and q∈(1,∞]. In this paper, we introduce a new class of function spaces which unify and generalize the Triebel-Lizorkin spaces with both p∈(1,∞) and p=∞ and Q spaces. By establishing the Carleson measure characterization of Q space, we then determine the relationship between Triebel-Lizorkin spaces and Q spaces, which answers a question posed by Dafni and Xiao in [G. Dafni, J. Xiao, Some new tent spaces and duality theorem for fractional Carleson measures and Qα(Rn), J. Funct. Anal. 208 (2004) 377-422]. Moreover, via the Hausdorff capacity, we introduce a new class of tent spaces and determine their dual spaces , where sR, p,q∈[1,∞), max{p,q}>1, , and t denotes the conjugate index of t∈(1,∞); as an application of this, we further introduce certain Hardy-Hausdorff spaces and prove that the dual space of is just when p,q∈(1,∞).  相似文献

For a Tychonoff space X  , we denote by Cp(X)Cp(X) and Cc(X)Cc(X) the space of continuous real-valued functions on X equipped with the topology of pointwise convergence and the compact-open topology respectively. Providing a characterization of the Lindelöf Σ-property of X   in terms of Cp(X)Cp(X), we extend Okunev?s results by showing that if there exists a surjection from Cp(X)Cp(X) onto Cp(Y)Cp(Y) (resp. from Lp(X)Lp(X) onto Lp(Y)Lp(Y)) that takes bounded sequences to bounded sequences, then υY is a Lindelöf Σ-space (respectively K-analytic) if υX has this property. In the second part, applying Christensen?s theorem, we extend Pelant?s result by proving that if X is a separable completely metrizable space and Y   is first countable, and there is a quotient linear map from Cc(X)Cc(X) onto Cc(Y)Cc(Y), then Y   is a separable completely metrizable space. We study also a non-separable case, and consider a different approach to the result of J. Baars, J. de Groot, J. Pelant and V. Valov, which is based on the combination of two facts: Complete metrizability is preserved by ?p?p-equivalence in the class of metric spaces (J. Baars, J. de Groot, J. Pelant). If X   is completely metrizable and ?p?p-equivalent to a first-countable Y, then Y is metrizable (V. Valov). Some additional results are presented.  相似文献

We show that McShane and Pettis integrability coincide for functions , where μ is any finite measure. On the other hand, assuming the Continuum Hypothesis, we prove that there exist a weakly Lindelöf determined Banach space X, a scalarly null (hence Pettis integrable) function and an absolutely summing operator u from X to another Banach space Y such that the composition is not Bochner integrable; in particular, h is not McShane integrable.  相似文献

We consider the generalized shift operator, associated with the Laplace-Bessel differential operator . The maximal operator Mγ (B-maximal operator) and the Riesz potential (B-Riesz potential), associated with the generalized shift operator are investigated. At first, we prove that the B-maximal operator Mγ is bounded from the B-Morrey space Lp,λ,γ to Lp,λ,γ for all 1<p<∞ and 0?λ<n+|γ|. We prove that the B-Riesz potential , 0<α<n+|γ| is bounded from the B-Morrey space Lp,λ,γ to Lq,λ,γ if and only if α/(n+|γ|−λ)=1/p−1/q, 1<p<(n+|γ|−λ)/α. Also we prove that the B-Riesz potential is bounded from the B-Morrey space L1,λ,γ to the weak B-Morrey space WLq,λ,γ if and only if α/(n+|γ|−λ)=1−1/q.  相似文献

In this paper, the necessary and sufficient conditions are found for the boundedness of the rough B-fractional integral operators from the Lorentz spaces Lp,s,γ to Lq,r,γ, 1<p<q<∞, 1?r?s?∞, and from L1,r,γ to Lq,∞,γWLq,γ, 1<q<∞, 1?r?∞. As a consequence of this, the same results are given for the fractional B-maximal operator and B-Riesz potential.  相似文献

We consider a class of bounded linear operators on Hilbert space called n-hypercontractions which relates naturally to adjoint shift operators on certain vector-valued standard weighted Bergman spaces on the unit disc. In the context of n-hypercontractions in the class C0⋅ we introduce a counterpart to the so-called characteristic operator function for a contraction operator. This generalized characteristic operator function Wn,T is an operator-valued analytic function in the unit disc whose values are operators between two Hilbert spaces of defect type. Using an operator-valued function of the form Wn,T, we parametrize the wandering subspace for a general shift invariant subspace of the corresponding vector-valued standard weighted Bergman space. The operator-valued analytic function Wn,T is shown to act as a contractive multiplier from the Hardy space into the associated standard weighted Bergman space.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove that under theF 4 conditions, anyL log+ L bounded two-parameter Banach spece valued martingale converges almost surely to an integrable Banach space valued random variable if and only if the Banach space has the Radon-Nikodym property. We further prove that the above conclusion remains true if theF 4 condition is replaced by the weaker localF 4 condition. We study the numerical index of absolute sums of Banach spaces, giving general conditions which imply that the numerical index of the sum is less or equal than the infimum of the numerical indices of the summands and we provide some examples where the equality holds covering the already known case of c0-, ?1- and ?-sums and giving as a new result the case of E-sums where E has the RNP and n(E)=1 (in particular for finite-dimensional E with n(E)=1). We also show that the numerical index of a Banach space Z which contains a dense union of increasing one-complemented subspaces is greater or equal than the limit superior of the numerical indices of those subspaces. Using these results, we give a detailed short proof of the already known fact that, for a fixed p, the numerical indices of all infinite-dimensional Lp(μ)-spaces coincide.  相似文献

In this article k-convex metric spaces are considered where a several variable mapping is provided as a limit point of an iteration scheme based on the midpoint map in the metric space itself. This mapping, considered as a mean of its variables, has some properties which relates it to the center of mass of these variables in the metric space. Sufficient conditions are given here for the two points to be identical, as well as upper bounds on their distances from one another. The asymptotic rate of convergence of the iterative process defining the mean is also determined here. The case of the symmetric space on the convex cone of positive definite matrices related to the geometric mean and the special orthogonal group are also studied here as examples of k-convex metric spaces.  相似文献

This paper considers the solution of weighted interpolation problems in model subspaces of the Hardy space H2 that are canonically isometric to Paley-Wiener spaces of analytic functions. A new necessary and sufficient condition is given on the set of interpolation points which guarantees that a solution in H2 can be transferred to a solution in a model space. The techniques used rely on the reproducing kernel thesis for Hankel operators, which is given here with an explicit constant. One of the applications of this work is to the finite-time controllability of diagonal systems specified by a C0 semigroup.  相似文献

We show that Asplund sets are effective tools to study differentiability of Lipschitz functions, and ε-subdifferentiability of lower semicontinuous functions on general Banach spaces. If a locally Lipschitz function defined on an Asplund generated space has a minimal Clarke subdifferential mapping, then it is TBY-uniformly strictly differentiable on a dense Gδ subset of X. Examples are given of locally Lipschitz functions that are TBY-uniformly strictly differentiable everywhere, but nowhere Fréchet differentiable.  相似文献

A Banach space X is said to have the kp-approximation property (kp-AP) if for every Banach space Y, the space F(Y,X) of finite rank operators is dense in the space Kp(Y,X) of p-compact operators endowed with its natural ideal norm kp. In this paper we study this notion that has been previously treated by Sinha and Karn (2002) in [15]. As application, the kp-AP of dual Banach spaces is characterized via density of finite rank operators in the space of quasi p-nuclear operators for the p-summing norm. This allows to obtain a relation between the kp-AP and Saphar's approximation property. As another application, the kp-AP is characterized in terms of a trace condition. Finally, we relate the kp-AP to the (p,p)-approximation property introduced in Sinha and Karn (2002) [15] for subspaces of Lp(μ)-spaces.  相似文献
