In this paper, a class of finely discretized Semi-Infinite Programming (SIP) problems is discussed. Combining the idea of the norm-relaxed Method of Feasible Directions (MFD) and the technique of updating discretization index set, we present a new algorithm for solving the Discretized Semi-Infinite (DSI) problems from SIP. At each iteration, the iteration point is feasible for the discretized problem and an improved search direction is computed by solving only one direction finding subproblem, i.e., a quadratic program, and some appropriate constraints are chosen to reduce the computational cost. A high-order correction direction can be obtained by solving another quadratic programming subproblem with only equality constraints. Under weak conditions such as Mangasarian–Fromovitz Constraint Qualification (MFCQ), the proposed algorithm possesses weak global convergence. Moreover, the superlinear convergence is obtained under Linearly Independent Constraint Qualification (LICQ) and other assumptions. In the end, some elementary numerical experiments are reported.  相似文献

In this paper, a class of optimization problems with equality and inequality constraints is discussed. Firstly, the original problem is transformed to an associated simpler problem with only inequality constraints and a parameter. The later problem is shown to be equivalent to the original problem if the parameter is large enough (but finite), then a feasible descent SQP algorithm for the simplified problem is presented. At each iteration of the proposed algorithm, a master direction is obtained by solving a quadratic program (which always has a feasible solution). With two corrections on the master direction by two simple explicit formulas, the algorithm generates a feasible descent direction for the simplified problem and a height-order correction direction which can avoid the Maratos effect without the strict complementarity, then performs a curve search to obtain the next iteration point. Thanks to the new height-order correction technique, under mild conditions without the strict complementarity, the globally and superlinearly convergent properties are obtained. Finally, an efficient implementation of the numerical experiments is reported.  相似文献

Combining the norm-relaxed sequential quadratic programming (SQP) method and the idea of method of quasi-strongly sub-feasible directions (MQSSFD) with active set identification technique, a new SQP algorithm for solving nonlinear inequality constrained optimization is proposed. Unlike the previous work, at each iteration of the proposed algorithm, the norm-relaxed quadratic programming (QP) subproblem only consists of the constraints corresponding to an active identification set. Moreover, the high-order correction direction (used to avoid the Maratos effect) is yielded by solving a system of linear equations (SLE) which also includes only the constraints and their gradients corresponding to the active identification set, therefore, the scale and the computation cost of the high-order correction directions are further decreased. The arc search in our algorithm can effectively combine the initialization processes with the optimization processes, and the iteration points can get into the feasible set after a finite number of iterations. Furthermore, the arc search conditions are weaker than the previous work, and the computation cost is further reduced. The global convergence is proved under the Mangasarian–Fromovitz constraint qualification (MFCQ). If the strong second-order sufficient conditions are satisfied, then the active constraints are exactly identified by the identification set. Without the strict complementarity, superlinear convergence can be obtained. Finally, some elementary numerical results are reported.  相似文献

Based on an augmented Lagrangian line search function, a sequential quadratically constrained quadratic programming method is proposed for solving nonlinearly constrained optimization problems. Compared to quadratic programming solved in the traditional SQP methods, a convex quadratically constrained quadratic programming is solved here to obtain a search direction, and the Maratos effect does not occur without any other corrections. The “active set” strategy used in this subproblem can avoid recalculating the unnecessary gradients and (approximate) Hessian matrices of the constraints. Under certain assumptions, the proposed method is proved to be globally, superlinearly, and quadratically convergent. As an extension, general problems with inequality and equality constraints as well as nonmonotone line search are also considered.  相似文献

Based on the ideas of norm-relaxed sequential quadratic programming (SQP) method and the strongly sub-feasible direction method, we propose a new SQP algorithm for the solution of nonlinear inequality constrained optimization. Unlike the previous work, at each iteration, the norm-relaxed quadratic programming subproblem (NRQPS) in our algorithm only consists of the constraints corresponding to an estimate of the active set, and the high-order correction direction (used to avoid the Maratos effect) is obtained by solving a system of linear equations (SLE) which also only consists of such a subset of constraints and gradients. Moreover, the line search technique can effectively combine the initialization process with the optimization process, and therefore (if the starting point is not feasible) the iteration points always get into the feasible set after a finite number of iterations. The global convergence is proved under the Mangasarian–Fromovitz constraint qualification (MFCQ), and the superlinear convergence is obtained without assuming the strict complementarity. Finally, the numerical experiments show that the proposed algorithm is effective and promising for the test problems.  相似文献

One of the most interesting topics related to sequential quadratic programming algorithms is how to guarantee the consistence of all quadratic programming subproblems. In this decade, much work trying to change the form of constraints to obtain the consistence of the subproblems has been done. The method proposed by De O. Pantoja J.F. A. and coworkers solves the consistent problem of SQP method, and is the best to the authors’ knowledge. However, the scale and complexity of the subproblems in De O. Pantoja’s work will be increased greatly since all equality constraints have to be changed into absolute form. A new sequential quadratic programming type algorithm is presented by means of a special ε-active set scheme and a special penalty function. Subproblems of the new algorithm are all consistent, and the form of constraints of the subproblems is as simple as one of the general SQP type algorithms. It can be proved that the new method keeps global convergence and Local superlinear convergence. Project partly supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.  相似文献

In this paper, a new SQP algorithm is presented to solve the general nonlinear programs with mixed equality and inequality constraints. Quoted from P. Spellucci (see [9]), this method maybe be named sequential equality constrained quadratic programming (SECQP) algorithm. Per single iteration, based on an active set strategy ( see [9]), this SECQP algorithm requires only to solve equality constrained quadratic programming subproblems or system of linear equations. The theoretical analysis shows that global and superlinear convergence can be induced under some suitable conditions.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a sequential quadratically constrained quadratic programming (SQCQP) norm-relaxed algorithm of strongly sub-feasible directions for the solution of inequality constrained optimization problems. By introducing a new unified line search and making use of the idea of strongly sub-feasible direction method, the proposed algorithm can well combine the phase of finding a feasible point (by finite iterations) and the phase of a feasible descent norm-relaxed SQCQP algorithm. Moreover, the former phase can preserve the “sub-feasibility” of the current iteration, and control the increase of the objective function. At each iteration, only a consistent convex quadratically constrained quadratic programming problem needs to be solved to obtain a search direction. Without any other correctional directions, the global, superlinear and a certain quadratic convergence (which is between 1-step and 2-step quadratic convergence) properties are proved under reasonable assumptions. Finally, some preliminary numerical results show that the proposed algorithm is also encouraging.  相似文献

In this paper, the nonlinear minimax problems with inequality constraints are discussed, and a sequential quadratic programming (SQP) algorithm with a generalized monotone line search is presented. At each iteration, a feasible direction of descent is obtained by solving a quadratic programming (QP). To avoid the Maratos effect, a high order correction direction is achieved by solving another QP. As a result, the proposed algorithm has global and superlinear convergence. Especially, the global convergence is obtained under a weak Mangasarian–Fromovitz constraint qualification (MFCQ) instead of the linearly independent constraint qualification (LICQ). At last, its numerical effectiveness is demonstrated with test examples.  相似文献

In this paper,a new globally convergent algorithm for nonlinear optimization prablems with equality and inequality constraints is presented. The new algorithm is of SQP type which determines a search direction by solving a quadratic programming subproblem per itera-tion. Some revisions on the quadratic programming subproblem have been made in such a way that the associated constraint region is nonempty for each point x generated by the algorithm, i. e. , the subproblems always have optimal solutions. The new algorithm has two important properties. The computation of revision parameter for guaranteeing the consistency of quadratic sub-problem and the computation of the second order correction step for superlinear convergence use the same inverse of a matrix per iteration, so the computation amount of the new algorithm will not be increased much more than other SQP type algorithms; Another is that the new algorithm can give automatically a feasible point as a starting point for the quadratic subproblems pe  相似文献

Efficient sequential quadratic programming (SQP) implementations are presented for equality-constrained, discrete-time, optimal control problems. The algorithm developed calculates the search direction for the equality-based variant of SQP and is applicable to problems with either fixed or free final time. Problem solutions are obtained by solving iteratively a series of constrained quadratic programs. The number of mathematical operations required for each iteration is proportional to the number of discrete times N. This is contrasted by conventional methods in which this number is proportional to N 3. The algorithm results in quadratic convergence of the iterates under the same conditions as those for SQP and simplifies to an existing dynamic programming approach when there are no constraints and the final time is fixed. A simple test problem and two application problems are presented. The application examples include a satellite dynamics problem and a set of brachistochrone problems involving viscous friction.  相似文献

In this paper, a sequential quadratically constrained quadratic programming method of feasible directions is proposed for the optimization problems with nonlinear inequality constraints. At each iteration of the proposed algorithm, a feasible direction of descent is obtained by solving only one subproblem which consist of a convex quadratic objective function and simple quadratic inequality constraints without the second derivatives of the functions of the discussed problems, and such a subproblem can be formulated as a second-order cone programming which can be solved by interior point methods. To overcome the Maratos effect, an efficient higher-order correction direction is obtained by only one explicit computation formula. The algorithm is proved to be globally convergent and superlinearly convergent under some mild conditions without the strict complementarity. Finally, some preliminary numerical results are reported. This paper discusses a kind of optimization problem with linear complementarity constraints, and presents a sequential quadratic programming (SQP) algorithm for solving a stationary point of the problem. The algorithm is a modification of the SQP algorithm proposed by Fukushima et al. [Computational Optimization and Applications, 10 (1998), 5-34], and is based on a reformulation of complementarity condition as a system of linear equations. At each iteration, one quadratic programming and one system of equations needs to be solved, and a curve search is used to yield the step size. Under some appropriate assumptions, including the lower-level strict complementarity, but without the upper-level strict complementarity for the inequality constraints, the algorithm is proved to possess strong convergence and superlinear convergence. Some preliminary numerical results are reported.  相似文献

In this paper, the feasible type SQP method is improved. A new SQP algorithm is presented to solve the nonlinear inequality constrained optimization. As compared with the existing SQP methods, per single iteration, in order to obtain the search direction, it is only necessary to solve equality constrained quadratic programming subproblems and systems of linear equations. Under some suitable conditions, the global and superlinear convergence can be induced.  相似文献

In this paper, a new feasible sequential quadratic programming (FSQP) algorithm is proposed to solve the nonlinear programming, where a feasible descent direction is obtained by solving only one QP subproblem. In order to avoid Maratos effect, a high-order revised direction is computed by solving a linear system with involving some “active” constraints. The theoretical analysis shows that global and superlinear convergence can be deduced.  相似文献

In this paper, a kind of optimization problems with nonlinear inequality constraints is discussed. Combined the ideas of norm-relaxed SQP method and strongly sub-feasible direction method as well as a pivoting operation, a new fast algorithm with arbitrary initial point for the discussed problem is presented. At each iteration of the algorithm, an improved direction is obtained by solving only one direction finding subproblem which possesses small scale and always has an optimal solution, and to avoid the Maratos effect, another correction direction is yielded by a simple explicit formula. Since the line search technique can automatically combine the initialization and optimization processes, after finite iterations, the iteration points always get into the feasible set. The proposed algorithm is proved to be globally convergent and superlinearly convergent under mild conditions without the strict complementarity. Finally, some numerical tests are reported.  相似文献

In this paper, the nonlinear minimax problems with inequality constraints are discussed. Based on the idea of simple sequential quadratically constrained quadratic programming algorithm for smooth constrained optimization, an alternative algorithm for solving the discussed problems is proposed. Unlike the previous work, at each iteration, a feasible direction of descent called main search direction is obtained by solving only one subprogram which is composed of a convex quadratic objective function and simple quadratic inequality constraints without the second derivatives of the constrained functions. Then a high-order correction direction used to avoid the Maratos effect is computed by updating the main search direction with a system of linear equations. The proposed algorithm possesses global convergence under weak Mangasarian–Fromovitz constraint qualification and superlinear convergence under suitable conditions with the upper-level strict complementarity. At last, some preliminary numerical results are reported.  相似文献
