In this paper we consider a nutrient–phytoplankton–zooplankton model in aquatic environment and study its global dynamics. The existence and stability of equilibria are analyzed. It is shown that the system is permanent as long as the coexisting equilibrium exists. The discontinuous Hopf and classical Hopf bifurcations of the model are analytically verified. It is shown that phytoplankton bloom may occur even if the input rate of nutrient is low. Numerical simulations reveal the existence of saddle-node bifurcation of nonhyperbolic periodic orbit and subcritical discontinuous Hopf bifurcation, which presents a bistable phenomenon (a stable equilibrium and a stable limit cycle).  相似文献

In this paper, a mathematical model consisting of two harmful phytoplankton and zooplankton with discrete time delays is considered. We prove that a sequence of Hopf bifurcations occur at the interior equilibrium as the delay increases. Meanwhile, the phenomenon of stability switches is found under certain conditions. The direction of the Hopf bifurcations and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions are determined by using the theory of normal form and center manifold. Numerical simulations are given to support the theoretical results.  相似文献

Considering that some phytoplankton and zooplankton are harvested for food, a phytoplankton–zooplankton model with harvesting is proposed and investigated. First, stability conditions of equilibria and existence conditions of a Hopf-bifurcation are established. Our results indicate that over exploitation would result in the extinction of the population and an appropriate harvesting strategy should ensure the sustainability of the population which is in line with reality. Furthermore, the existence of bionomic equilibria and the optimal harvesting policy are discussed. The present value of revenues is maximized by using Pontryagin’s maximum principle subject to the state equations and the control constraints. We discussed the case of optimal equilibrium solution. It is found that the shadow prices remain constant over time in optimal equilibrium when they satisfy the transversality condition. It is established that the zero discounting leads to the maximization of economic revenue and that an infinite discount rate leads to complete dissipation of economic rent. Finally, some numerical simulations are given to illustrate our results.  相似文献

A delayed three-component reaction–diffusion population model with Dirichlet boundary condition is investigated. The existence and stability of the positive spatially nonhomogeneous steady state solution are obtained via the implicit function theorem. Moreover, taking delay ττ as the bifurcation parameter, Hopf bifurcation near the steady state solution is proved to occur at the critical value τ0τ0. The direction of Hopf bifurcation is forward. In particular, by using the normal form theory and the center manifold reduction for partial functional differential equations, the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions occurring through Hopf bifurcations is investigated. It is demonstrated that the bifurcating periodic solution occurring at τ0τ0 is orbitally asymptotically stable. Finally, the general results are applied to four types of three species population models. Numerical simulations are presented to illustrate our theoretical results.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a delayed predator–prey system with diffusion effect. First, the stability of the positive equilibrium and the existence of spatially homogeneous and spatially inhomogeneous periodic solutions are investigated by analyzing the distribution of the eigenvalues. Next the direction and the stability of Hopf bifurcation are determined by the normal form theory and the center manifold reduction for partial functional differential equations. Finally, some numerical simulations are carried out for illustrating the theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a chemical reaction–diffusion model with Degn–Harrison reaction scheme under homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions. The existence of Hopf bifurcation to ordinary differential equation (ODE) and partial differential equation (PDE) models are derived, respectively. Furthermore, by using the center manifold theory and the normal form method, we establish the bifurcation direction and stability of periodic solutions. Finally, some numerical simulations are shown to support the analytical results, and to reveal new phenomenon on the Hopf bifurcation.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate a class of predator–prey model with age structure and discuss whether the model can undergo Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation. The analysis is based on the normal form theory and the center manifold theory for semilinear equations with non-dense domain combined with integrated semigroup theory. Qualitative analysis indicates that there exist some parameter values such that this predator–prey model has an unique positive equilibrium which is Bogdanov–Takens singularity. Moreover, it is shown that under suitable small perturbation, the system undergoes the Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation in a small neighborhood of this positive equilibrium.  相似文献

This paper deals with a predator–prey model with specialist harvesting, representing a two predators (Zooplankton) and one resource (Phytoplankton) system. First, the existence and stability of equilibria is analyzed both from local and global point of view. Our results indicate that a specialist harvesting which is discriminate may mediate the coexistence of the two zooplankton species which competitively exclude each other in absence harvesting. Although in most cases increasing harvesting reduces the two zooplankton species numbers, when harvesting leads to coexistence, it may also lead to increase the two zooplankton species numbers. Furthermore, to protect fish population from over exploitation a control instrument tax is imposed. The problem of optimal taxation policy is then solved by using Pontryagin’s maximal principle. It is established that the zero discounting leads to the maximization of the net economic revenue to the society and an infinite discount rate leads to complete dissipation of the net economic revenue to the society. Finally, the impact of harvesting is mentioned along with numerical results to provide some support to the analytical findings.  相似文献

This work is concerned with the dynamics of a Leslie–Gower predator–prey model with nonmonotonic functional response near the Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation point. By analyzing the characteristic equation associated with the nonhyperbolic equilibrium, the critical value of the delay inducing the Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation is obtained. In this case, the dynamics near this nonhyperbolic equilibrium can be reduced to the study of the dynamics of the corresponding normal form restricted to the associated two-dimensional center manifold. The bifurcation diagram near the Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation point is drawn according to the obtained normal form. We show that the change of delay can result in heteroclinic orbit, homoclinic orbit and unstable limit cycle.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose and analyze a Lotka–Volterra competition like model which consists of system of differential equations with piecewise constant arguments of delay to study of interaction between tumor cells and Cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs). In order to get local and global behaviors of the system, we use Schur–Cohn criterion and constructed a Lyapunov function. Some algebraic conditions which satisfy local and global stability of the system are obtained. In addition, we investigate the possible bifurcation types for the system and observe that the system may undergo Neimark–Sacker bifurcation. Moreover, it is predicted a threshold value above which there is uncontrollable tumor growth, and below periodic solutions that leading to tumor dormant state occur.  相似文献

The dynamical behaviors of a two-dimensional simplified Hodgkin–Huxley model exposed to external electric fields are investigated based on the qualitative analysis and numerical simulation. A necessary and sufficient condition is given for the existence of the Hopf bifurcation. The stability of equilibrium points and limit cycles is also studied. Moreover, the canards and bifurcation are discussed in the simplified model and original model. The dynamical behaviors of the simplified model are consistent with the original model. It would be a great help to further investigations of the original model.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate a reaction–diffusion–advection model with time delay effect. The stability/instability of the spatially nonhomogeneous positive steady state and the associated Hopf bifurcation are investigated when the given parameter of the model is near the principle eigenvalue of an elliptic operator. Our results imply that time delay can make the spatially nonhomogeneous positive steady state unstable for a reaction–diffusion–advection model, and the model can exhibit oscillatory pattern through Hopf bifurcation. The effect of advection on Hopf bifurcation values is also considered, and our results suggest that Hopf bifurcation is more likely to occur when the advection rate increases.  相似文献

A coupled system of partial differential equations modeling the interaction of a fluid and a structure with delay in the feedback is studied. The model describes the dynamics of an elastic body immersed in a fluid that is contained in a vessel, whose boundary is made of a solid wall. The fluid component is modeled by the linearized Navier-Stokes equation, while the solid component is given by the wave equation neglecting transverse elastic force. Spectral properties and exponential or strong stability of the interaction model under appropriate conditions on the damping factor, delay factor and the delay parameter are established using a generalized Lax-Milgram method.  相似文献

From the saddle-node-Hopf bifurcation point of view, this paper considers a modified Leslie–Gower predator-prey model with time delay and the Michaelis–Menten type prey harvesting. Firstly, we discuss the stability of the equilibria, obtain the critical conditions for the saddle-node-Hopf bifurcation, and give the completion bifurcation set by calculating the universal unfoldings near the saddle-node-Hopf bifurcation point by using the normal form theory and center manifold theorem. Then we derive the parameter conditions for the existence of monostable coexistence equilibrium and the parameter regions in which both the prey-extinction and the coexistence equilibrium (or coexistence periodic or quasi-periodic solutions) are simultaneously stabilized. We also investigate the heteroclinic bifurcation, and describe the phenomenon that the periodic behavior disappears as through the heteroclinic bifurcation. Finally, some numerical simulations are performed to support our analytic results.  相似文献

Employing the theories of Turing bifurcation in the partial differential equations, we investigate the dynamical behavior of a single species reaction–diffusion model with spatiotemporal delay. The linear stability and the conditions for the occurrence of Turing bifurcation in this model are obtained. Moreover, the amplitude equations which represent different spatiotemporal patterns are also obtained near the Turing bifurcation point by using multiple scale method. In Turing space, it is found that the spatiotemporal distributions of the density of this researched species have spots pattern and stripes pattern. Finally, some numerical simulations corresponding to the different spatiotemporal patterns are given to verify our theoretical analysis.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a mathematical model dealing with a predator–prey system with disease in the prey. Mathematical analysis of the model regarding stability has been performed. The effect of delay on the above system is studied. By regarding the time delay as the bifurcation parameter, the stability of the positive equilibrium and Hopf bifurcations are investigated. Furthermore, the direction of Hopf bifurcations and the stability of bifurcated periodic solutions are determined by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold reduction for functional differential equations. Finally, to verify our theoretical predictions, some numerical simulations are also included.  相似文献
