In this paper, we give new families of polynomials orthogonal with respect to a d-dimensional vector of linear functionals, d being a positive integer number, and generalizing the standard symmetric classical polynomials: Hermite and Gegenbauer. We state the inversion formula which is used to express the corresponding moments by means of integral representations involving the Meijer G-function. Moreover, we determine some characteristic properties for these polynomials: generating functions, explicit representations and component sets.  相似文献

The space of bivariate generalised Hermite polynomials of degree n is invariant under rotations. We exploit this symmetry to construct an orthonormal basis for which consists of the rotations of a single polynomial through the angles , ℓ=0,...n. Thus we obtain an orthogonal expansion which retains as much of the symmetry of as is possible. Indeed we show that a continuous version of this orthogonal expansion exists.   相似文献

We establish various properties for the zero sets of three families of bivariate Hermite polynomials. Special emphasis is given to those bivariate orthogonal polynomials introduced by Hermite by means of a Rodrigues type formula related to a general positive definite quadratic form. For this family we prove that the zero set of the polynomial of total degree n+mn+m consists of exactly n+mn+m disjoint branches and possesses n+mn+m asymptotes. A natural extension of the notion of interlacing is introduced and it is proved that the zero sets of the family under discussion obey this property. The results show that the properties of the zero sets, considered as affine algebraic curves in R2R2, are completely different for the three families analyzed.  相似文献

Let Hn be the nth Hermite polynomial, i.e., the nth orthogonal on polynomial with respect to the weight w(x)=exp(−x2). We prove the following: If f is an arbitrary polynomial of degree at most n, such that |f||Hn| at the zeros of Hn+1, then for k=1,…,n we have f(k)Hn(k), where · is the norm. This result can be viewed as an inequality of the Duffin and Schaeffer type. As corollaries, we obtain a Markov-type inequality in the norm, and estimates for the expansion coefficients in the basis of Hermite polynomials.  相似文献

The Sobolev-type Laguerre polynomials are orthogonal with respect to the inner product

In this paper, sharp upper limit for the zeros of the ultraspherical polynomials are obtained via a result of Obrechkoff and certain explicit connection coefficients for these polynomials. As a consequence, sharp bounds for the zeros of the Hermite polynomials are obtained.

We study Wronskians of Hermite polynomials labeled by partitions and use the combinatorial concepts of cores and quotients to derive explicit expressions for their coefficients. These coefficients can be expressed in terms of the characters of irreducible representations of the symmetric group, and also in terms of hook lengths. Further, we derive the asymptotic behavior of the Wronskian Hermite polynomials when the length of the core tends to infinity, while fixing the quotient. Via this combinatorial setting, we obtain in a natural way the generalization of the correspondence between Hermite and Laguerre polynomials to Wronskian Hermite polynomials and Wronskians involving Laguerre polynomials. Lastly, we generalize most of our results to polynomials that have zeros on the p-star.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a multivariable extension of the Humbert polynomials, which is motivated by the Chan-Chyan-Srivastava multivariable polynomials, the multivariable extension of the familiar Lagrange-Hermite polynomials and Erkus-Srivastava multivariable polynomials. We derive various families of multilinear and mixed multilateral generating functions for these polynomials. Other miscellaneous properties of these multivariable polynomials are also discussed. A new characterization of the generalized Hermite polyno-
mials and of the orthogonal polynomials with respect to the measure
is derived which is based on a ``reversing property" of the coefficients in the corresponding recurrence formulas and does not use the representation in terms of Laguerre and Jacobi polynomials. A similar characterization can be obtained for a generalization of the sieved ultraspherical polynomials of the first and second kind. These results are applied in order to determine the asymptotic limit distribution for the zeros when the degree and the parameters tend to infinity with the same order.

Two well-known q-Hermite polynomials are the continuous and discrete q-Hermite polynomials. In this paper we consider a new family of q-Hermite polynomials and prove several curious properties about these polynomials. One striking property is the connection with q-Fibonacci and q-Lucas polynomials. The latter relation yields a generalization of the Touchard-Riordan formula.  相似文献

In this study, we give multiplication formula for generalized Euler polynomials of order α and obtain some explicit recursive formulas. The multiple alternating sums with positive real parameters a and b are evaluated in terms of both generalized Euler and generalized Bernoulli polynomials of order α. Recently, Srivastava et al. introduced a new generalization of the Bernoulli, Euler and Genocchi polynomials (see [H.M. Srivastava, M. Garg, S. Choudhary, Russian J. Math. Phys. 17 (2010) 251-261] and [H.M. Srivastava, M. Garg, S. Choudhary, Taiwanese J. Math. 15 (2011) 283-305]). They established several interesting properties of these general polynomials, the generalized Hurwitz-Lerch zeta functions and also in series involving the familiar Gaussian hypergeometric function. By the same motivation of Srivastava’s et al. [11] and [12], we introduce and derive multiplication formula and some identities related to the generalized Bernoulli type polynomials of higher order associated with positive real parameters a, b and c. We also establish multiple alternating sums in terms of these polynomials. Moreover, by differentiating the generating function of these polynomials, we give a interpolation function of these polynomials.  相似文献

本文利用渐近于Gauss函数的函数类?,给出渐近于Hermite正交多项式的一类Appell多项式的构造方法,使得该序列与?的n阶导数之间构成了一组双正交系统.利用此结果,本文得到多种正交多项式和组合多项式的渐近性质.特别地,由N阶B样条所生成的Appell多项式序列恰为N阶Bernoulli多项式.从而,Bernoulli多项式与B样条的导函数之间构成了一组双正交系统,且标准化之后的Bernoulli多项式的渐近形式为Hermite多项式.由二项分布所生成的Appell序列为Euler多项式,从而,Euler多项式与二项分布的导函数之间构成一组双正交系统,且标准化之后的Euler多项式渐近于Hermite多项式.本文给出Appell序列的生成函数满足的尺度方程的充要条件,给出渐近于Hermite多项式的函数列的判定定理.应用该定理,验证广义Buchholz多项式、广义Laguerre多项式和广义Ultraspherical(Gegenbauer)多项式渐近于Hermite多项式的性质,从而验证超几何多项式的Askey格式的成立.  相似文献

We show that any scalar differential operator with a family of polynomials as its common eigenfunctions leads canonically to a matrix differential operator with the same property. The construction of the corresponding family of matrix valued polynomials has been studied in [A. Durán, A generalization of Favard's theorem for polynomials satisfying a recurrence relation, J. Approx. Theory 74 (1993) 83-109; A. Durán, On orthogonal polynomials with respect to a positive definite matrix of measures, Canad. J. Math. 47 (1995) 88-112; A. Durán, W. van Assche, Orthogonal matrix polynomials and higher order recurrence relations, Linear Algebra Appl. 219 (1995) 261-280] but the existence of a differential operator having them as common eigenfunctions had not been considered. This correspondence goes only one way and most matrix valued situations do not arise in this fashion. We illustrate this general construction with a few examples. In the case of some families of scalar valued polynomials introduced in [F.A. Grünbaum, L. Haine, Bispectral Darboux transformations: An extension of the Krall polynomials, Int. Math. Res. Not. 8 (1997) 359-392] we take a first look at the algebra of all matrix differential operators that share these common eigenfunctions and uncover a number of phenomena that are new to the matrix valued case.  相似文献
