Solid-phase microextraction (SPME) has been optimized and applied to the determination of the organophosphorus insecticides diazinon, dichlofenthion, parathion methyl, malathion, fenitrothion, fenthion, parathion ethyl, bromophos methyl, bromophos ethyl, and ethion in natural waters. Four types of SPME fiber coated with different stationary phases (PDMS, PA, PDMS-DVB, and CW-DVB) were used to examine their extraction efficiencies for the compounds tested. Conditions that might affect the SPME procedure, such as extraction time and salt content, were investigated to determine the analytical performance of these fiber coatings for organophosphorus insecticides. The optimized procedure was applied to natural waters - tap, sea, river, and lake water - spiked in the concentration range 0.5 to 50 micro g L(-1) to obtain the analytical characteristics. Recoveries were relatively high - >80% for all types of aqueous sample matrix - and the calibration plots were reproducible and linear (R(2)>0.982) for all analytes with all the fibers tested. The limits of detection ranged from 2 to 90 ng L(-1), depending on the detector and the compound investigated, with relative standard deviations in the range 3-15% at all the concentration levels tested. The SPME partition coefficients (K(f)) of the organophosphorus insecticides were calculated experimentally for all the polymer coatings. The effect of organic matter such as humic acids on extraction efficiency was also studied. The analytical performance of the SPME procedure using all the fibers in the tested natural waters proved effective for the compounds.  相似文献

Two methods for the analysis of ten organophosphorus insecticides in natural waters using solid phase extraction disks containing C18 and SDB and solid phase microextraction fibers containing polyacrylate (PA) are developed. Bromophos ethyl, bromophos methyl, dichlofenthion, ethion, fenamiphos, fenitrothion, fenthion, malathion, parathion ethyl and parathion methyl were determined by GC/MS and GC/FTD. The SPE-disks require only 1000 mL of sample and provide a method limit of detection in the range of 0.01-0.07 microgram/L and recovery rates from 60.7 to 104.1%. The solid phase microextraction (SPME) technique requires 2-5 mL of water sample and provides a method limit of detection in the range of 0.01 to 0.05 microgram/L for all detectors and the recoveries compared to distilled water ranged from 86.2 to 119.7%. The proposed methods were applied to the trace level screening determination of insecticides in river water samples originating from different Greek regions.  相似文献

This study develops a method for the analysis of seven fungicides in environmental waters, using solid-phase microextraction (SPME). The analyzed compounds--dicloran, chlorothalonil, vinclozolin, dichlofluanid, captan, folpet and captafol--belong to different classes of chemical compound (chloroanilines, sulphamides, phthalimides and oxazolidines) and are used mainly in agriculture and as antifouling paints. Their determination was carried out by gas chromatography with electron-capture and mass spectrometric detection. To perform SPME, four types of fibre have been assayed and compared: polyacrylate (85 microm), polydimethylsiloxane (100 and 30 microm), carbowax-divinylbenzene (CW-DVB 65 microm) and polydimethylsiloxane-divinylbenzene (65 microm). The main parameters affecting the SPME process such as pH, salt additives, methanol content, memory effect, stirring rate and adsorption-time profile were studied. The method was developed using spiked natural waters such as ground water, sea water, river water and lake water in a concentration range of 0.1-10 microg/l. Limits of detection of studied compounds were determined in the range of 1-60 ng/l, by using electron-capture and mass spectrometric detectors. The recoveries of all fungicides were in relatively high levels (70.0-124.4%) and the average R2 values of the calibration curves were above 0.990 for all the analytes. The SPME conditions were finally optimized in order to obtain the maximum sensitivity. The potential of the proposed method was realized by applying it to the trace-level screening determination of fungicides and antifouling compounds in sea water samples originating from various Greek marinas.  相似文献

A simple, rapid continuous-flow solid-phase extraction method with gas chromatographic detection for the determination of organophosphorus pesticides is proposed. The continuous system consists of an adsorbent column where pesticides are preconcentrated and subsequently eluted with ethyl acetate. Various sorbent materials were assayed of which RP-C18 was found to provide the best results, with a sorption efficiency close to 100%. A comparative study of the determination of pesticides in aqueous samples was conducted using gas chromatography with nitrogen-phosphorus (NPD) and flame ionization (FID) detection. The detection limits of the method for 10 ml of sample were between 50-130 ng/l and 4.5-1 1.7 microg/l with NPD and FID detection, respectively. The method was used to determine organophosphorus pesticides in river, pond, well and tap waters, all with good precision (2.9-4.3%) and recoveries ranging from 93.8 to 104.5%.  相似文献

A headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME), in conjunction with gas chromatography-flame ionization detection for use in the determination of six frequently used glycol ethers at the microg/l level is described. A 75 microm Carboxenpolydimethylsiloxane fiber was used to extract the analytes from an aqueous solution. Experimental HS-SPME parameters such as extraction temperature, extraction time, salt concentration and sample volume, were investigated and optimized by orthogonal array experimental designs. The relative standard deviations for the reproducibility of the optimized HS-SPME method varied from 1.48 to 7.59%. The correlation coefficients of the calibration curves exceeded 0.998 in the microg/l range of concentration with at least two orders of magnitude. The method detection limits for glycol ethers in deionized water were in the range of 0.26 to 3.42 microg/l. The optimized method was also applied to the analysis of glycol ethers in urine and blood samples with the method detection limits ranged from 1.74 to 23.2 microg/l.  相似文献

A simple procedure for the determination of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), ethyl tert-butyl ether (ETBE), ethyl butyl ether (EBE), tert-amyl methyl ether (TAME), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) in water using headspace (HS) solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) was developed. The analysis was carried out by gas chromatography (GC) equipped with flame ionization detector (FID) and 100% dimethylpolysiloxane fused capillary column. A 2 Plackett-Burman design for screening and a central composite design (CCD) for optimizing the significant variables were applied. Fiber type, extraction temperature, sodium chloride concentration, and headspace volume were the significant variables. A 65 microm poly(dimethylsiloxane)-divinylbenzene (PDMS-DVB) SPME fiber, 10 degrees C, 300 g/l, and 20 ml of headspace (in 40 ml vial) were respectively chosen for the best extraction response. An extraction time of 10 min was enough to extract the ethers and BTEX. The relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) for the procedure varied from 2.6 (benzene) to 8.5% (ethylbenzene). The method detection limits (MDLs) found were from 0.02 (toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes) to 1.1 microg/l (MTBE). The optimized method was applied to the analysis of the rivers, marinas and fishing harbors surface waters from Gipuzkoa (North Spain). Three sampling were done in 1 year from June 2002 to June 2003. Toluene was the most detected analyte (in 90% of the samples analyzed), with an average concentration of 0.56 microg/l. MTBE was the only dialkyl ether detected (in 15% of the samples) showing two high levels over 400 microg/l that were related to accidental fuel spill.  相似文献

In this work photodegradation of four organophosphorus insecticides (ethyl-parathion, methyl-parathion, fenitrothion, fenthion) in different natural waters and soils was studied under sunlight. The origin of the waters was from the region of Ioannina (underground, lake, and river water) and from Preveza (sea water) in Northern-West Greece. The soils used had different percentages of organic matter (0.9-3.5%) and their characterization were SCL, CL, and SL respectively. The photodegradation kinetics of these insecticides were followed by GC-FTD. The identification of the photodegradation by-products was made by using GC-MS. The half-lives of the organophosphorus insecticides vary from 0.4 to 35.4 days in natural waters and from 3.4 to 21.3 days in soils. The humic substances and the other components of these environmental matrices seem to influence the degradation kinetics. The use of GC-MS allowed the identification of some important photodegradation by-products such as: fenthion sulfone, fenthion sulfoxide, fenoxon, 4-methylthio-3,5-dimethyl phenol, O , O , O -triethyl phosphorothioate, paraoxon, 4-nitrophenol, aminoparathion.  相似文献

A potentiometric method for the determination of organophosphorus insecticides based on the inhibition of cholinesterase is presented. The acetic acid formed by hydrolysis of acetylcholine is sensed by a glass electrode in a weakly buffered system. The insecticide is incubated with cholinesterase for 1 h at 25°C or 37°C before addition to the substrate. The effects of incubation time and temperature are discussed. The method is applied to the insecticides bromophos and dichlorvos. The detection limits are 2 × 10-5 M (7 ppb) for bromophos and 1 × 10-7 M (22 ppb) for dichlorvos. The initial rates of hydrolysis decrease linearly up to 2 × 10-7 M and 1 × 10-6 M, respectively.  相似文献

This work demonstrates the suitability of a newly developed ionic liquid (IL)-based silica SPME fiber for the determination of seven organophosphorus insecticides in cucumber and grapefruit samples by headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) with a gas chromatography–flame ionization detector (FID). The sol-gel method released four different sorbent coatings, which were obtained based on a silica matrix containing ILs immobilized inside its pores. In order to obtain ionogel fibers, the following ionic liquids were utilized: 1-Butyl-1-methylpyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide; Butyltriethyl ammonium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide; 1-(2-Methoxyethyl)-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, and 1-Benzyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide. The developed fibers were applied for the extraction of seven different insecticides from liquid samples. The most important extraction parameters of HS-SPME coupled with the GC-FID method were optimized with a central composite design. The new SPME fiber demonstrated higher selectivity for extracting the analyzed insecticides compared with commercially available fibers. The limit of detection was in the range of 0.01–0.93 μg L−1, the coefficients of determination were >0.9830, and 4.8–10.1% repeatability of the method was found. Finally, the obtained ionogel fibers were utilized to determine insecticides in fresh cucumber and grapefruit juices.  相似文献

A novel solid-phase microextraction (SPME) method coupled to gas chromatography with electron capture detection (GC-ECD) was developed as an alternative to liquid-liquid and solid-phase extraction for the analysis of short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) in water samples. The extraction efficiency of five different commercially available fibres was evaluated and the 100-microm polydimethylsiloxane coating was the most suitable for the absorption of the SCCPs. Optimisation of several SPME parameters, such as extraction time and temperature, ionic strength and desorption time, was performed. Quality parameters were established using Milli-Q, tap water and river water. Linearity ranged between 0.06 and 6 microg l(-1) for spiked Milli-Q water and between 0.6 and 6 microg l(-1) for natural waters. The precision of the SPME-GC-ECD method for the three aqueous matrices was similar and gave relative standard deviations (RSD) between 12 and 14%. The limit of detection (LOD) was 0.02 microg l(-1) for Milli-Q water and 0.3 microg l(-1) for both tap water and river water. The optimised SPME-GC-ECD method was successfully applied to the determination of SCCPs in river water samples.  相似文献

A facile headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) procedure using 85 microm polyacrylate (PA) fiber is presented for the simultaneous determination of preservatives (sorbic and benzoic acids) in food dressing, including Thousand Island Dressing, HellMANN'S Salad Dressing and Tomato Ketchup, by gas chromatography (GC) with flame ionization detector (FID). The method presented preserves the advantages typical of HS-SPME such as simplicity, low intensity of labor, low cost and solvent free. The main factors affecting the HS-SPME process, such as extraction temperature and time, desorption temperature and time, the acidity and salt concentration of the solution, were optimized. Limits of detection (LODs) of the method were 2.00 microg/L for sorbic acid and 1.22 microg/L for benzoic acid. Relative standard deviations (RSDs) for quintuplicate analyses at three concentration levels of 0.10, 2.0 and 20 mg/L ranged between 3.86 and 14.8%. The method also showed good linearity n a range from 0.02 to 40 mg/L with correlation coefficients (R2) of 0.9986 for sorbic acid and 0.9994 for benzoic acid. Recoveries for the two analytes in all the samples tested ranged from 83.44 to 113.2%. Practical applicability was demonstrated through the simultaneous determination of sorbic and benzoic acids in the three complex samples.  相似文献

This study develops a method for the analysis of biocides Irgarol 1051 and Sea Nine 211 in environmental water samples, using solid-phase microextraction (SPME). Their determination was carried out using gas chromatography with flame thermionic (FTD), electron-capture (ECD) and mass spectrometric detection. The main parameters affecting the SPME process such as adsorption-time profile, salt additives and memory effect were studied for five polymeric coatings commercially available for solid-phase microextraction: poly(dimethylsiloxane) (100 and 30 microm), polyacrylate, poly(dimethylsiloxane)-divinylbenzene (PDMS-DVB 65 microm) and Carbowax-divinylbenzene (65 microm). The method was developed using spiked natural waters such as tap, river, sea and lake water in a concentration range of 0.5-50 microg/l. All the tested fiber coatings have been evaluated with regard to sensitivity, linear range, precision and limits of detection. Typical RSD values (triplicate analysis) in the range of 3-10% were obtained depending on the fiber coating and the compound investigated. The recoveries of biocides were in relatively high levels 60-118% and the calibration curves were reproducible and linear (R2>0.990) for both analytes. The SPME partition coefficients (Kf) of both compounds were also calculated experimentally in the proposed conditions for all fibers using direct sampling. Finally the influence of organic matter such as humic acids on extraction efficiency was studied, affecting mostly Sea Nine 211 uptake by the fiber. Optimum analytical SPME performance was achieved using the PDMS-DVB 65 microm fiber coating in ECD and FTD systems for Sea Nine 211 and Irgarol 1051, respectively.  相似文献

A solid-phase microextraction (SPME) method was applied to an extended monitoring survey of priority pesticides for the European Union for a period of 12 months in water of the Kalamas River (Epirus region of northwestern Greece) in order to determine their concentrations and seasonal variations. Polydimethylsiloxane-coated fiber (100 microm) was used. The samples were screened using gas chromatography with flame thermionic detection. Detection was confirmed by gas chromatographymass spectroscopy. The most frequently detected pesticides were some of the more commonly used herbicides, such as S-ethyl-N,N-di-n-propylthiol carbamate (EPTC), trifluralin, atrazine, deethylatrazine, terbuthylazine and alachlor, and insecticides, such as carbofuran, diazinon, disulfoton, parathion methyl, parathion ethyl, fenthion and ethion. Concentrations of individual compounds ranged from 0.020 to 0.3 microg/L. Greater pesticide concentrations occurred during the seasons of application. A comparison with a well-established solid-phase extraction (C18 disks) procedure was performed for samples of high-season application (May-September) in order to confirm the effectiveness of the SPME technique. The results demonstrate the suitability of the SPME method for routine screening multiresidue analysis in natural waters.  相似文献

A simple and sensitive solvent extraction-atomic spectrometric technique has been developed for the determination of hexavalent chromium in fresh and saline waters. The technique is based on the reaction of chromium with diphenylcarbazide. The method has been tested on a variety of water samples over an analytical range of 0-2 microg l(-1). A limit of detection of 0.024 microg l(-1) was achieved. Spiking recoveries in the range 87-115% were achieved in river water, drinking water and marine waters.  相似文献

A new method for the simultaneous determination of 1,4-dichlorobenzene (p-DCB), naphthalene and 1,2-dibromoethane (1,2-DBE) residues in honey has been developed. Analysis is carried out using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS) in selected ion monitoring mode (SIM), after extraction and preconcentration of target analytes by headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME), with a 100 microm film thickness polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) fiber. Several parameters affecting the extension of the adsorption process (i.e., addition of salt, extraction time, extraction temperature) were studied. The optimal conditions for the determination of these analytes were established. The proposed HS-SPME method showed good sensitivity, without carryover between the samples. Linearity was studied from 5 to 2500 microg kg(-1) for p-DCB, 0.5 to 500 microg kg(-1) for naphthalene and 5 to 500 microg kg(-1) honey for 1,2-DBE with correlation coefficients (r(2)) ranging from 0.9901 to 0.9999. Precision was assessed and both intra and inter-day R.S.D.s (%) were below 6.3%. The detection limits were found to be 1, 0.1 and 2 microg kg(-1) honey for p-DCB, naphthalene and 1,2-DBE, respectively. The percentage recoveries that were evaluated with the proposed HS-SPME method and the standard addition calibration technique gave values among 72.8 and 104.3% for measurements in samples spiked with one target analyte or mixtures of the three. This method has been applied for the analysis of unknown honey samples. The results showed an excellent applicability of the proposed method for the determination of the target compounds in honey samples.  相似文献

A method for the determination of trace amounts of the herbicide oxadiazon was developed using headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME), gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and selected ion monitoring. It was applied to determine oxadiazon in ground water, agricultural soil, must, wine and human urine samples. To determine oxadiazon in liquid samples, a response surface methodology generated with a Doehlert design was applied to optimize the HS-SPME conditions using a 100 microm polydimethylsiloxane fibre. For the analysis of soil samples, they were mixed with water and the SPME fibre suspended in the headspace above the slurry. Ground water, human urine and must show linear concentration range of application of 0.5-50 ng ml(-1)' with detection limits < or =0.02 ng ml(-1). HS-SPME-GC-MS analysis yielded good reproducibility (RSD values between 6.5 and 13.5%). The method validation was completed with spiked matrix samples. The developed analytical procedure is solvent free, cost effective and fast.  相似文献

A dynamic headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) and gas chromatography coupled to ion trap mass spectrometry (GC-(IT)MS) method was developed and applied for the qualitative determination of the volatile compounds present in commercial whisky samples which alcoholic content was previously adjusted to 13% (v/v). Headspace SPME experimental conditions, such as fibre coating, extraction temperature and extraction time, were optimized in order to improve the extraction process. Five different SPME fibres were used in this study, namely, poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS), poly(acrylate) (PA), Carboxen-poly(dimethylsiloxane) (CAR/PDMS), Carbowax-divinylbenzene (CW/DVB) and Carboxen-poly(dimethylsiloxane)-divinylbenzene (CAR/PDMS/DVB). The best results were obtained using a 75 microm CAR/PDMS fibre during headspace extraction at 40 degrees C with stirring at 750 rpm for 60 min, after saturating the samples with salt. The optimised methodology was then applied to investigate the volatile composition profile of three Scotch whisky samples--Black Label, Ballantines and Highland Clan. Approximately seventy volatile compounds were identified in the these samples, pertaining at several chemical groups, mainly fatty acids ethyl esters, higher alcohols, fatty acids, carbonyl compounds, monoterpenols, C13 norisoprenoids and some volatile phenols. The ethyl esters form an essential group of aroma components in whisky, to which they confer a pleasant aroma, with "fruity" odours. Qualitatively, the isoamyl acetate, with "banana" aroma, was the most interesting. Quantitatively, significant components are ethyl esters of caprilic, capric and lauric acids. The highest concentration of fatty acids, were observed for caprilic and capric acids. From the higher alcohols the fusel oils (3-methylbutan-1-ol and 2.phenyletanol) are the most important ones.  相似文献
