Lanthanide based single molecular magnets (SMMs), particularly dysprocenium based SIMs, are well known for their high energy barrier for spin reversal (Ueff) and blocking temperatures (TB). Enhancing these two parameters and at the same time obtaining ambient stability is key to realising end-user applications such as compact storage or as qubits in quantum computing. In this work, by employing an array of theoretical tools (DFT, ab initio CASSCF and molecular dynamics), we have modelled six complexes [(η5-corannulene)Dy(Cp)] (1), [(η5-corannulene)Dy(C6H6)] (2), [(η6-corannulene)Dy(Cp)] (3), [(η6-corannulene)Dy(C6H6)] (4), [(exo5-corannulene)Dy(endo5-corannulene)] (5), and [(endo5-corannulene)Dy(endo5-corannulene)] (6) containing corannulene as a capping ligand to stabilise Dy(iii) half-sandwich complexes. Our calculations predict a strong axiality exerted by the Dy–C interactions in all complexes. Ab initio calculations predict a very large barrier height for all six molecules in the order 1 (919 cm−1) ≈ 3 (913 cm−1) > 2 (847 cm−1) > 4 (608 cm−1) ≈ 5 (603 cm−1) ≈ 6 (599 cm−1), suggesting larger barrier heights for Cp ring systems, followed by six-membered arene systems and then corannulene. DFT based molecular dynamics calculations were performed on complexes 3, 5 and 6. For complexes 3 and 5, the geometries that are dynamically accessible are far fewer. The range of Ueff computed for molecular dynamics snapshots is high, indicating a possibility of translating the large Ueff obtained into attractive blocking temperatures in these complexes, but the converse is found for 6. Furthermore, an in-depth C–H bond vibrational analysis performed on complex 3 suggests that the vibration responsible for reducing the blocking temperature in dysprocenium SIMs is absent here as the C–H bonds are stronger and corannulene steric strain prevents the C(Cp)–Dy–C(Cor) bending. As [(η6-corannulene)TM(X)]+ (TM = Ru, Zr, Os, Rh, Ir and X = C5Me5, C6Me6) are known, the predictions made here have a higher prospect of yielding stability under ambient conditions, a very large Ueff value and a high blocking temperature – a life-giving combination to new generation SMMs.

Bringing half-sandwich Dy(iii) SIMs under the umbrella of corannulene was found to offer stability, greater barrier height and may offer higher blocking temperatures.  相似文献

A novel synthesis of thiazolo[2,3-b]quinazolines 4(a–e), pyrido[2′,3′:4,5]thiazolo[2,3-b]quinazolines {5(a–e), 6(a–e), and 7(a–e)}, pyrano[2′,3′:4,5]thiazolo[2,3-b]quinazolines 8(a–e), and benzo[4,5]thiazolo[2,3-b]quinazoloine9(a–e) derivatives starting from 2-(Bis-methylsulfanyl-methylene)-5,5-dimethyl-cyclohexane-1,3-dione 2 as efficient α,α dioxoketen dithioacetal is reported and the synthetic approaches of these types of compounds will provide an innovative molecular framework to the designing of new active heterocyclic compounds. In our study, we also present optimization of the synthetic method along with a biological evaluation of these newly synthesized compounds as antioxidants and antibacterial agents against the bacterial strains, like S. aureus, E. coli, and P. aeruginosa. Among all the evaluated compounds, it was found that some showed significant antioxidant activity at 10 μg/mL while the others exhibited better antibacterial activity at 100 μg/mL. The results of this study showed that compound 6(c) possessed remarkable antibacterial activity, whereas compound 9(c) exhibited the highest efficacy as an antioxidant. The structures of the new synthetic compounds were elucidated by elemental analysis, IR, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR.  相似文献

The gauche conformation of the 1,2-difluoroethane motif is known to involve stabilising hyperconjugative interactions between donor (bonding, σC–H) and acceptor (antibonding, σ*C–F) orbitals. This model rationalises the generic conformational preference of F–Cβ–Cα–X systems (φFCCX ≈ 60°), where X is an electron deficient substituent containing a Period 2 atom. Little is known about the corresponding Period 3 systems, such as sulfur and phosphorus, where multiple oxidation states are possible. Conformational analyses of β-fluorosulfides, -sulfoxides and -sulfones are disclosed here, thus extending the scope of the fluorine gauche effect to the 3rd Period (F–C–C–S(O)n; φFCCS ≈ 60°). Synergy between experiment and computation has revealed that the gauche effect is only pronounced in structures bearing an electropositive vicinal sulfur atom (S+–O, SO2).  相似文献

The appropriate 1-arylhydrazinecarbonitriles 1a–c are subjected to the reaction with 2-chloro-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazole (2), yielding 7-(4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-yl)-2-aryl-6,7-dihydro-2H-imidazo[2,1-c][1,2,4]triazol-3(5H)-imines 3a–c, which are subsequently converted into the corresponding amides 4a–e, 8a–c, sulfonamides 5a–n, 9, ureas 6a–I, and thioureas 7a–d. The structures of the newly prepared derivatives 3a–c, 4a–e, 5a–n, 6a–i, 7a–d, 8a–c, and 9 are confirmed by IR, NMR spectroscopic data, as well as single-crystal X-ray analyses of 5e and 8c. The in vitro cytotoxic potency of these compounds is determined on a panel of human cancer cell lines, and the relationships between structure and antitumor activity are discussed. The most active 4-chloro-N-(2-(4-chlorophenyl)-7-(4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-yl)-6,7-dihydro-2H-imidazo[2,1-c][1,2,4]triazol-3(5H)-ylidene)benzamide (4e) and N-(7-(4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-yl)-2-(p-tolyl)-6,7-dihydro-2H-imidazo[2,1-c][1,2,4]triazol-3(5H)-ylidene)-[1,1′-biphenyl]-4-sulfonamide (5l) inhibits the growth of the cervical cancer SISO and bladder cancer RT-112 cell lines with IC50 values in the range of 2.38–3.77 μM. Moreover, N-(7-(4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-yl)-2-phenyl-6,7-dihydro-2H-imidazo[2,1-c][1,2,4]triazol-3(5H)-ylidene)-4-phenoxybenzenesulfonamide (5m) has the best selectivity towards the SISO cell line and induces apoptosis in this cell line.  相似文献

The reactions of CuX2 (X = Cl, Br) with dipinodiazafluorenes yielded four new complexes [CuX2L1]2 (X = Cl (1), Br (2), L1 = (1R,3R,8R,10R)-2,2,9,9-Tetramethyl-3,4,7,8,9,10-hexahydro-1H-1,3:8,10-dimethanocyclopenta [1,2-b:5,4-b’]diquinolin-12(2H)-one) and [(CuX2)2L2]n (X = Cl (3), Br (4), L2 = (1R,3R,8R,10R,1’R,3’R,8’R,10’R)-2,2,2’,2’,9,9,9’,9’-Octamethyl-1,1’,2,2’,3,3’,4,4’,7,7’,8,8’,9,9’,10,10’-hexadecahydro-1,3:1’,3’:8,10:8’,10’-tetramethano-12,12’-bi(cyclopenta [1,2-b:5,4-b’]diquinolinylidene). The complexes were characterized by IR and EPR spectroscopy, HR-ESI-MS and elemental analysis. The crystal structures of compounds 1, 2 and 4 were determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. Complexes 1–2 have a monomeric structure, while complex 4 has a polymeric structure due to additional coordinating N,N sites in L2. All complexes contain a binuclear fragment {Cu2(μ-X)2×2} (X = Cl, Br) in their structures. Each copper atom has a distorted square-pyramidal coordination environment formed by two nitrogen atoms and three halogen atoms. The Cu-Nax distance is elongated compared to Cu-Neq. The EPR spectra of compounds 1–4 in CH3CN confirm their paramagnetic nature due to the d9 electronic configuration of the copper(II) ion. The magnetic properties of all compounds were studied by the method of static magnetic susceptibility. For complexes 1 and 2, the effective magnetic moments are µeff ≈ 1.87 and 1.83 µB (per each Cu2+ ion), respectively, in the temperature range 50–300 K, which are close to the theoretical spin value (1.73 µB). Ferromagnetic exchange interactions between Cu(II) ions inside {Cu2(μ-X)2X2} (X = Cl, Br) dimers (J/kB ≈ 25 and 31 K for 1 and 2, respectively) or between dimers (θ′ ≈ 0.30 and 0.47 K for 1 and 2, respectively) were found at low temperatures. For compounds 3 and 4, the magnetic susceptibility is well described by the Curie–Weiss law in the temperature range 1.77–300 K with µeff ≈ 1.72 and 1.70 µB for 3 and 4, respectively, and weak antiferromagnetic interactions ≈ −0.4 K for 3 and −0.65 K for 4). Complexes 1–4 exhibit high catalytic activity in the oxidation of alkanes and alcohols with peroxides. The maximum yield of cyclohexane oxidation products reached 50% (complex 3). Based on the data on the study of regio- and bond-selectivity, it was concluded that hydroxyl radicals play a decisive role in the oxidation reaction. The initial products in reactions with alkanes are alkyl hydroperoxides.  相似文献

A change in the sign of the ground-state electron spin polarization (ESP) is reported in complexes where an organic radical (nitronylnitroxide, NN) is covalently attached to a donor–acceptor chromophore via two different meta-phenylene bridges in (bpy)Pt(CAT-m-Ph-NN) (mPh-Pt) and (bpy)Pt(CAT-6-Me-m-Ph-NN) (6-Me-mPh-Pt) (bpy = 5,5′-di-tert-butyl-2,2′-bipyridine, CAT = 3-tert-butylcatecholate, m-Ph = meta-phenylene). These molecules represent a new class of chromophores that can be photoexcited with visible light to produce an initial exchange-coupled, 3-spin (bpy˙, CAT+˙ = semiquinone (SQ), and NN), charge-separated doublet 2S1 (S = chromophore excited spin singlet configuration) excited state. Following excitation, the 2S1 state rapidly decays to the ground state by magnetic exchange-mediated enhanced internal conversion via the 2T1 (T = chromophore excited spin triplet configuration) state. This process generates emissive ground state ESP in 6-Me-mPh-Pt while for mPh-Pt the ESP is absorptive. It is proposed that the emissive polarization in 6-Me-mPh-Pt results from zero-field splitting induced transitions between the chromophoric 2T1 and 4T1 states, whereas predominant spin–orbit induced transitions between 2T1 and low-energy NN-based states give rise to the absorptive polarization observed for mPh-Pt. The difference in the sign of the ESP for these molecules is consistent with a smaller excited state 2T14T1 gap for 6-Me-mPh-Pt that derives from steric interactions with the 6-methyl group. These steric interactions reduce the excited state pairwise SQ-NN exchange coupling compared to that in mPh-Pt.

A change in the sign of the ground state electron spin polarization (ESP) is reported in complexes where an organic radical (nitronylnitroxide, NN) is covalently attached to a donor–acceptor chromophore via two different meta-phenylene bridges.  相似文献

This study deals with selective separation of mono- and divalent cations from aqueous salt solutions using polymeric films based on polyethylene (PE) and polyamide6 (PA6), and two different commercial nanofiltration (NF) membranes. The diffusion rates (D) of ions (Na+ and Ca2+), separation factors (α) and ion rejections (R) of the films and NF membranes are examined comparatively as well as their surface morphology and hydrophilicity. It is observed that the diffusion rates of Na+ are in the range of 0.7–1.8 × 10−8cm2 .s−1 in the decreasing order of PE > NF90 > NF270 > PA6 while Ca2+ shows diffusion rates of 7.4–18.4 × 10−8 cm2 .s−1 in the increasing order of NF270 > NF90 ≈ PA6 > PE. Rejection values of the polymeric films and NF membranes against to Na+ and Ca2+ vary between 90% and 99.6%.The highest α(Ca2+/Na+) is found to be 20 for PA6 film. D, α, and R value of both polymeric films and NF membranes are strongly affected by the existence of osmosis during diffusion-dialysis and the sizes of hydrated sodiu and calcium ions. In conclusion, the film based on PA6 may be a good alternative for selective separation of mono- an divalent cations.  相似文献

By dealing CrCl3∙3THF with the corresponding ligands (L1–L5), an array of fluoro-substituted chromium (III) chlorides (Cr1–Cr5) bearing 2-[1-(2,4-dibenzhydryl-6-fluoro- phenylimino)ethyl]-6-[1-(arylimino)ethyl]pyridine (aryl = 2,6-Me2Ph Cr1, 2,6-Et2Ph Cr2, 2,6-iPr2Ph Cr3, 2,4,6-Me3Ph Cr4, 2,6-Et2-4-MePh Cr5) was synthesized in good yield and validated via Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and elemental analysis. Besides the routine characterizations, the single-crystal X-ray diffraction study revealed the solid-state structures of complexes Cr2 and Cr4 as the distorted-octahedral geometry around the chromium center. Activated by either methylaluminoxane (MAO) or modified methylaluminoxane (MMAO), all the chromium catalysts exhibited high activities toward ethylene polymerization with the MMAO-promoted polymerizations far more productive than with MAO (20.14 × 106 g (PE) mol−1 (Cr) h−1 vs. 10.03 × 106 g (PE) mol−1 (Cr) h−1). In both cases, the resultant polyethylenes were found as highly linear polyethylene waxes with low molecular weights around 1–2 kg mol−1 and narrow molecular weight distribution (MWD range: 1.68–2.25). In general, both the catalytic performance of the ortho-fluorinated chromium complexes and polymer properties have been the subject of a detailed investigation and proved to be highly dependent on the polymerization reaction parameters (including cocatalyst type and amount, reaction temperature, ethylene pressure and run time).  相似文献

The functional diversity of the green fluorescent protein (GFP) family is intimately connected to the interplay between competing photo-induced transformations of the chromophore motif, anionic p-hydroxybenzylidene-2,3-dimethylimidazolinone (HBDI). Its ability to undergo Z/E-isomerization is of particular importance for super-resolution microscopy and emerging opportunities in optogenetics. Yet, key dynamical features of the underlying internal conversion process in the native HBDI chromophore remain largely elusive. We investigate the intrinsic excited-state behavior of isolated HBDI to resolve competing decay pathways and map out the factors governing efficiency and the stereochemical outcome of photoisomerization. Based on non-adiabatic dynamics simulations, we demonstrate that non-selective progress along the two bridge-torsional (i.e., phenolate, P, or imidazolinone, I) pathways accounts for the three decay constants reported experimentally, leading to competing ultrafast relaxation primarily along the I-twisted pathway and S1 trapping along the P-torsion. The majority of the population (∼70%) is transferred to S0 in the vicinity of two approximately enantiomeric minima on the I-twisted intersection seam (MECI-Is). Despite their sloped, reactant-biased topographies (suggesting low photoproduct yields), we find that decay through these intersections leads to products with a surprisingly high quantum yield of ∼30%. This demonstrates that E-isomer generation results at least in part from direct isomerization on the excited state. A photoisomerization committor analysis reveals a difference in intrinsic photoreactivity of the two MECI-Is and that the observed photoisomerization is the combined result of two effects: early, non-statistical dynamics around the less reactive intersection followed by later, near-statistical behavior around the more reactive MECI-I. Our work offers new insight into internal conversion of HBDI that both establishes the intrinsic properties of the chromophore and enlightens principles for the design of chromophore derivatives and protein variants with improved photoswitching properties.

The ZE photoisomerization quantum yield of the HBDI chromophore is a result of early, non-statistical dynamics around a less reactive I-twisted intersection and later, statistical behavior around the more reactive, near-enantiomeric counterpart.  相似文献

The oxidation of transition metals such as manganese and copper by dioxygen (O2) is of great interest to chemists and biochemists for fundamental and practical reasons. In this report, the O2 reactivities of 1:1 and 1:2 mixtures of [(TPP)MnII] (1; TPP: Tetraphenylporphyrin) and [(tmpa)CuI(MeCN)]+ (2; TMPA: Tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine) in 2-methyltetrahydrofuran (MeTHF) are described. Variable-temperature (−110 °C to room temperature) absorption spectroscopic measurements support that, at low temperature, oxygenation of the (TPP)Mn/Cu mixtures leads to rapid formation of a cupric superoxo intermediate, [(tmpa)CuII(O2•–)]+ (3), independent of the presence of the manganese porphyrin complex (1). Complex 3 subsequently reacts with 1 to form a heterobinuclear μ-peroxo species, [(tmpa)CuII–(O22–)–MnIII(TPP)]+ (4; λmax = 443 nm), which thermally converts to a μ-oxo complex, [(tmpa)CuII–O–MnIII(TPP)]+ (5; λmax = 434 and 466 nm), confirmed by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. In the 1:2 (TPP)Mn/Cu mixture, 4 is subsequently attacked by a second equivalent of 3, giving a bis-μ-peroxo species, i.e., [(tmpa)CuII−(O22−)−MnIV(TPP)−(O22−)−CuII(tmpa)]2+ (7; λmax = 420 nm and δpyrrolic = −44.90 ppm). The final decomposition product of the (TPP)Mn/Cu/O2 chemistry in MeTHF is [(TPP)MnIII(MeTHF)2]+ (6), whose X-ray structure is also presented and compared to literature analogs.  相似文献

Selective recognition of nucleotides with synthetic receptors is an emerging direction to solve a series of nucleic acid-related challenges in biochemistry. Towards this goal, a new aza-cyclophane with two different dyes, naphthalimide and pyrene, connected through a triamine linker has been synthesized and studied for the ability to bind and detect nucleoside triphosphates in an aqueous solution. The receptor shows Foerster resonance energy transfer (FRET) in fluorescence spectra upon excitation in DMSO, which is diminished dramatically in the presence of water. According to binding studies, the receptor has a preference to bind ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and CTP (cytidine triphosphate) with a “turn-on” fluorescence response. Two separate emission bands of dyes allow one to detect nucleotides in a ratiometric manner in a broad concentration range of 10−5–10−3 M. Spectroscopic measurements and quantum chemical calculations suggest the formation of receptor–nucleotide complexes, which are stabilized by dispersion interactions between a nucleobase and dyes, while hydrogen bonding interactions of nucleobases with the amine linkers are responsible for selectivity.  相似文献

Piezoelectric materials that generate electricity when deforming are ideal for many implantable medical sensing devices. In modern piezoelectric materials, inorganic ceramics and polymers are two important branches, represented by lead zirconate titanate (PZT) and polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF). However, PVDF is a nondegradable plastic with poor crystallinity and a large coercive field, and PZT suffers from high sintering temperature and toxic heavy element. Here, we successfully design a metal-free small-molecule ferroelectric, 3,3-difluorocyclobutanammonium hydrochloride ((3,3-DFCBA)Cl), which has high piezoelectric voltage coefficients g33 (437.2 × 10−3 V m N−1) and g31 (586.2 × 10−3 V m N−1), a large electrostriction coefficient Q33 (about 4.29 m4 C−2) and low acoustic impedance z0 (2.25 × 106 kg s−1 m−2), significantly outperforming PZT (g33 = 34 × 10−3 V m N−1 and z0 = 2.54 × 107 kg s−1 m−2) and PVDF (g33 = 286.7 × 10−3 V m N−1, g31 = 185.9 × 10−3 V m N−1, Q33 = 1.3 m4 C−2, and z0 = 3.69 × 106 kg s−1 m−2). Such a low acoustic impedance matches that of the body (1.38–1.99 × 106 kg s−1 m−2) reasonably well, making it attractive as next-generation biocompatible piezoelectric devices for health monitoring and “disposable” invasive medical ultrasound imaging.

A small-molecule organic ferroelectric (3,3-DFCBA)Cl has high piezoelectric voltage coefficients g33 (437.2 × 10−3 V m N−1), a large electrostriction coefficient Q33, and low acoustic impedance z0, far beyond that of PZT and PVDF.  相似文献

A series of six seven-coordinate pentagonal-bipyramidal (PBP) erbium complexes, with acyclic pentadentate [N3O2] Schiff-base ligands, 2,6-diacetylpyridine bis-(4-methoxybenzoylhydrazone) [H2DAPMBH], or 2,6-diacethylpyridine bis(salicylhydrazone) [H4DAPS], and various apical ligands in different charge states were synthesized: [Er(DAPMBH)(C2H5OH)Cl] (1); [Er(DAPMBH)(H2O)Cl]·2C2H5OH (2); [Er(DAPMBH)(CH3OH)Cl] (3); [Er(DAPMBH)(CH3OH)(N3)] (4); [(Et3H)N]+[Er(H2DAPS)Cl2] (5); and [(Et3H)N]+[Y0.95Er0.05(H2DAPS)Cl2] (6). The physicochemical properties, crystal structures, and the DC and AC magnetic properties of 1–6 were studied. The AC magnetic measurements revealed that most of Compounds 1–6 are field-induced single-molecule magnets, with estimated magnetization energy barriers, Ueff ≈ 16–28 K. The experimental study of the magnetic properties was complemented by theoretical analysis based on ab initio and crystal field calculations. An experimental and theoretical study of the magnetism of 1–6 shows the subtle impact of the type and charge state of the axial ligands on the SMM properties of these complexes.  相似文献

A diimine ligand having two [2.2]paracyclophanyl substituents at the N atoms (L1) was prepared from the reaction of amino[2.2]paracyclophane with acenaphtenequinone. The ligand reacts with NiBr2(dme) (dme: 1,2-dimethoxyethane) to form the dibromonickel complex with (R,R) and (S,S) configuration, NiBr2(L1). The structure of the complex was confirmed by X-ray crystallography. NiBr2(L1) catalyzes oligomerization of ethylene in the presence of methylaluminoxane (MAO) co-catalyst at 10–50 °C to form a mixture of 1- and 2-butenes after 3 h. The reactions for 6 h and 8 h at 25 °C causes further increase of 2-butene formed via isomerization of 1-butene and formation of hexenes. Reaction of 1-hexene catalyzed by NiBr2(L1)–MAO produces 2-hexene via isomerization and C12 and C18 hydrocarbons via oligomerization. Consumption of 1-hexene of the reaction obeys first-order kinetics. The kinetic parameters were obtained to be ΔG = 93.6 kJ mol−1, ΔH = 63.0 kJ mol−1, and ΔS = −112 J mol−1deg−1. NiBr2(L1) catalyzes co-dimerization of ethylene and 1-hexene to form C8 hydrocarbons with higher rate and selectivity than the tetramerization of ethylene.  相似文献

An alkylamide-substituted (−NHCOC10H21) hydrogen-bonded dibenzo[18]crown-6 derivative (1) was prepared to stabilise the ionic channel structure in a discotic hexagonal columnar (Colh) liquid crystal. The introduction of simple M+X salts such as Na+PF6 and K+I into the ionic channel of 1 enhanced the ionic conductivity of the Colh phase of the M+·(1)·X salts, with the highest ionic conductivity reaching ∼10−6 S cm−1 for K+·(1)·I and Na+·(1)·PF6 at 460 K, which was approximately 5 orders of magnitude higher than that of 1. The introduction of non-ferroelectric 1 into the ferroelectric N,N′,N′′-tri(tetradecyl)-1,3,5-benzenetricarboxamide (3BC) elicited a ferroelectric response from the mixed Colh phase of (3BC)x(1)1−x with x = 0.9 and 0.8. The further doping of M+X into the ferroelectric Colh phase of (3BC)0.9(1)0.1 enhanced the ferroelectric polarisation assisted by ion displacement in the half-filled ionic channel for the vacant dibenzo[18]crown-6 of (3BC)0.9[(M+)0.5·(1)·(X)0.5]0.1.

Reaction of Ni(OTf)2 with the bisbidentate quaterpyridine ligand L results in the self-assembly of a tetrahedral, paramagnetic cage [NiII4L6]8+. By selectively exchanging the bound triflate from [OTf⊂NiII4L6](OTf)7 (1), we have been able to prepare a series of host–guest complexes that feature an encapsulated paramagnetic tetrahalometallate ion inside this paramagnetic host giving [MIIX4⊂NiII4L6](OTf)6, where MIIX42− = MnCl42− (2), CoCl42− (5), CoBr42− (6), NiCl42− (7), and CuBr42− (8) or [MIIIX4⊂NiII4L6](OTf)7, where MIIIX4 = FeCl4 (3) and FeBr4 (4). Triflate-to-tetrahalometallate exchange occurs in solution and can also be accomplished through single-crystal-to-single-crystal transformations. Host–guest complexes 1–8 all crystallise as homochiral racemates in monoclinic space groups, wherein the four {NiN6} vertexes within a single Ni4L6 unit possess the same Δ or Λ stereochemistry. Magnetic susceptibility and magnetisation data show that the magnetic exchange between metal ions in the host [NiII4] complex, and between the host and the MX4n guest, are of comparable magnitude and antiferromagnetic in nature. Theoretically derived values for the magnetic exchange are in close agreement with experiment, revealing that large spin densities on the electronegative X-atoms of particular MX4n guest molecules lead to stronger host–guest magnetic exchange interactions.

The tetrahedral [NiII4L6]8+ cage can reversibly bind paramagnetic MX41/2− guests, inducing magnetic exchange interactions between host and guest.  相似文献

In this article, a synthesis of N’-(benzylidene)-2-(6-methyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinolin-1-yl)acetohydrazides and their structural interpretation by NMR experiments is described in an attempt to explain the duplication of some peaks in their 1H- and 13C-NMR spectra. Twenty new 6-methyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinoline substituted N-acylhydrazones 6(a–t) were synthesized from 2-chloro-6-methylquinoline-3-carbaldehyde (1) in four steps. 2-Chloro-6-methylquinoline-3-carbaldehyde (1) afforded 6-methyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinoline (2), which upon N-alkylation yielded 2-(6-methyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinolin-1-yl)acetate (3). The hydrazinolysis of 3 followed by the condensation of resulting 2-(6-methyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinolin-1-yl)acetohydrazide (4) with aromatic aldehydes gave N-acylhydrazones 6(a–t). Structures of the synthesized compounds were established by readily available techniques such as FT-IR, NMR and mass spectral studies. The stereochemical behavior of 6(a–t) was studied in dimethyl sulfoxide-d6 solvent by means of 1H NMR and 13C NMR techniques at room temperature. NMR spectra revealed the presence of N’-(benzylidene)-2-(6-methyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinolin-1-yl)acetohydrazides as a mixture of two conformers, i.e., E(C=N)(N-N) synperiplanar and E(C=N)(N-N) antiperiplanar at room temperature in DMSO-d6. The ratio of both conformers was also calculated and E(C=N) (N-N) syn-periplanar conformer was established to be in higher percentage in equilibrium with the E(C=N) (N-N) anti-periplanar form.  相似文献
