基于电磁场的多尺度变换理论,得到了以导体椭圆柱为例的电磁波任意极化,任意垂直入射到目标上的散射场的解析式.将所得结果应用于计算圆柱目标的散射场,结果与文献完全一致.对椭圆柱体的散射宽度随入射波方位角,电磁波频率以及目标尺寸的变化进行了仿真.结果表明,在垂直于电磁波的方向上观测时,椭圆柱的垂直尺寸对散射有较大的影响,电磁波水平极化时散射最强.所用算法适用于介质椭圆柱等目标的散射特性研究,所得结果为目标尺寸、形状遥感电磁测量等实际应用提供了理论依据.  相似文献

The probability is obtained of creating a neutral vector boson by a fermion in an arbitrary plane-wave electromagnetic field. The superposition of a constant crossed field and the field of a planar monochromatic wave of an elliptic polarization is considered as the correct field. Polarization rotation and vector field steering of electromagnetic wave are of great significance in modern optical applications. However, conventional polarization devices are bulky, monofunctional and lack of tunability, which pose great challenges to the miniaturized and multifunctional applications. Herein, we propose a meta-device that is capable of multi-state polarization rotation and vector field steering based on phase change metasurface. The supercell of the meta-device consists of four Ge2Sb2Te5 (GST) elliptic cylinders located on a SiO2 substrate. By independently controlling the phase state (amorphous or crystalline) of each GST elliptic cylinder, the meta-device can rotate the polarization plane of the linearly polarized incident light to different angles that cover from 19.8° to 154.9° at a wavelength of 1550 nm. Furthermore, by merely altering the phase transition state of GST elliptic cylinders, we successfully demonstrated a vector field steering by generating optical vortices carrying orbital angular momentums (OAMs) with topological charges of 0, 1 and −1, respectively. The proposed method provides a new platform for investigating dynamically tunable optical devices and has potential applications in many fields such as optical communications and information processing.  相似文献

随着光通信技术的不断发展,光纤的应用越来越广泛,而锥形光纤以其独特的传光方式越来越多地应用于光纤连接、成像及测量等领域。实验测定了不同锥角和不同长度锥形光纤的偏振特性。理论上,根据麦克斯韦方程组以及边界条件给出了光在理想光纤中的场分布,阐明了实际光纤中光的传输特性。论证了锥形光纤长度与其偏振特性的关系,进而利用几何光学方法对锥形光纤锥角与其偏振特性的关系作了定性说明。并用具体数据进行了定量计算,得出偏振光经锥形光纤传输或耦合后再传输到其终端所得到均是椭圆偏振光的结论。  相似文献

We propose a handy scheme to generate a vectorial elliptic hollow beam by using a short dual-mode elliptic hollow fiber, study its propagation characteristics in free space, and calculate its total angular momentum at different propagating distances. Our study shows that the resulting elliptic hollow beam has a self-focusing effect in near field, an arbitrary polarization, and a position-dependent fractional angular momentum and that the directions of the major and minor axes of the elliptical intensity profile will be interchanged after the self-focusing plane.  相似文献

Diffraction-free vectorial elliptic hollow beams (vEHBs) are generated by an optical system composed of a short elliptic hollow fiber (EHF) and an axicon. Each beam has a closed elliptic annular intensity profile and space-varying polarization states in its diffraction-free distance of more than 1 m. The generated beams have a counter-clockwise or clockwise periodically-rotated inhomogeneous polarization. And the spin angular momentum (SAM) of the vEHBs is 1ħ or -1ħ which is consistent with the type of dual-mode in the EHF and the periodic polarization rotations of the vEHBs. The vEHBs have potential applications in optically trapping and micromanipulating the micro- or nano-particles, quantum information transmission, and Bose-Einstein condensates, etc.  相似文献

We study electron-atom scattering in the presence of a laser field with elliptic polarization. We discuss the dependence of the differential cross sections for the cases of circular and linear polarizations as a function of scattering angle. Interesting typical signatures of the phase between the two components of the circular polarization of the laser field appear in the differential cross section.  相似文献

The elastic scattering amplitude of a polarized electron in an arbitrary plane wave electromagnetic field is obtained by using the method of dispersion relations. Superposition of a constant crossed field and a plane monochromatic wave of elliptic polarization is considered a particular case of giving the field. Expressions are derived for the interaction matrices which describe the transformation of the Stokes parameters for backscattering of a plane quasimonochromatic electromagnetic wave by an arbitrary statistical object or by an isotropic object. By means of the matrices that have been found the determination of the mutual correlation of the orthogonal components of the scattered field must be considered in an arbitrarily chosen polarization basis for arbitrary elliptic polarization of the incident wave. An approach to the solution of the relativistic problem of the motion of a classical charged particle in the field of a monochromatic plane wave with an arbitrary polarization (linear, circular, or elliptic) is proposed. It is based on the analysis of the 4-vector equation of motion of the charged particle together with the 4-vector and tensor equations for the components of the electromagnetic field tensor of a monochromatic plane wave. This approach provides analytical expressions for the time-averaged square of the 4-acceleration of the charge, as well as for the averaged values of any quantities periodic in the time of the reference frame. Expressions for the integral power of scattered radiation, which is proportional to the time-averaged square of the 4-acceleration of the charge, and for the integral scattering cross section, which is the ratio of the power of scattered radiation to the intensity of incident radiation, are obtained for an arbitrary inertial reference frame. An expression for the scattering cross section, which coincides with the known results at the circular and linear polarizations of the incident waves and describes the case of elliptic polarization of the incident wave, is obtained for the reference frame where the charged particle is on average at rest. An expression for the scattering cross section including relativistic effects and the nonzero drift velocity of a particle in this system is obtained for the laboratory reference frame, where the initial velocity of the charged particle is zero. In the case of the circular polarization of the incident wave, the scattering cross section in the laboratory frame is equal to the Thompson cross section.  相似文献

本文对 5 MHz频差双反射膜双频 He- Ne激光器输出激光的双频特性及偏振特性进行了实验研究。研究结果表明 ,当磁场方向同反射膜的一个本征模方向基本重合时 ,有双频出现 ;当磁场方向同反射膜的一个本征模方向夹角在 45°左右时 ,无双频出现。输出激光的偏振方向由反射膜的本征模确定 ,其偏振非正交程度为 tgρ≤ 0 .0 0 87,椭圆化程度tgβ随激光管与磁场的相对角位置变化而发生变化。在合适的位置 ,tgβ可以小至 2 / 70 0。该种外差光源具有较好的偏振特性。  相似文献

A solution to the two-dimensional scattering properties of a conducting elliptic cylinder coated with a homogeneous anisotropic elliptical shell is obtained. The conducting elliptic cylinder and the shell have the same eccentricity. The transmitted and scattered fields of the anisotropic shell are expressed as Mathieu functions in elliptic coordinates. The unknown coefficients of the scattered and transmitted fields are solved with the aid of the boundary conditions and the Galerkin's method. Only the transverse magnetic (TM) polarization is presented and the transverse electric (TE) polarization can be obtained in the same way. Some numerical results are presented and discussed. As expected the result is in agreement with that available when the coated elliptic cylinder degenerates to a coated circular one.  相似文献

For the transverse electric polarization case (TE) we present a treatment of the optical reflectivity and transmissivity of a slab whose dielectric coefficient is a real valued function of the light intensity. If this function is numerically integrable with respect to the light intensity, our treatment can serve as an algorithm for a numerical solution of the nonlinear wave equation. If the dielectric function is proportional to the intensity, an analytical solution of the cubic wave equation is given for the electric field strength and for the phase of the field in terms of Weierstrass' elliptic functions and first elliptic theta functions, respectively. Evaluating this solution by means of a computer algebra system yields the reflectivity, transmissivity and phase dependency on the incident field intensity and on parameters characteristic for the problem. Certain combinations of the parameters lead to bistable and multivalued behavior. The solution found is used to determine the relative extrema of the reflectivity and the critical values of the thickness and of the incident intensity. The results are a generalization of linear optics results. Application of the analysis to the cubic-quintic wave equation yields the general analytic solution which is used to detemine the reflectivity of a semi-infinite nonlinear medium.  相似文献

On the basis of the beam tensor formalism proposed by F. I. Fedorov, the theory of polarization selfaction of radiation in isotropic resonant media is extended to the case of partial elliptic polarization of an electromagnetic wave. The influence of the degree of radiation polarization on the known polarization self-action effects is demonstrated and the self-polarization (depolarization) of light is predicted.  相似文献

The two-component Jones vector is cast in a form that achieves the separation of the information on the polarization ellipse from that on the amplitude and phase of the light wave. The shape, sense of rotation and orientation of the elliptic vibration of the electric field are described by the complex polarization variable χ while the amplitude a (size) and temporal phase ? of that vibration are described by the complex amplitude A = aexp(i?). The transformation of the complex amplitude of the wave A after passing through an optical system leads to a complex-amplitude transfer function (CATF) which is a nonanalytic function of the complex polarization variable χ. The CATF is, in turn, separable into polarization-dependent (real) amplitude and phase transfer functions (ATF and PHTF). Together with the polarization transfer function PTF (the transformation of χ), the ATF and PHTF provide a useful set of tools that complement the well-known Jones calculus.  相似文献

Analytical and numerical studies are made into the momentum distribution and energy spectra of photoelectrons emitted during nonlinear ionization of atoms and molecules by laser radiation with elliptic polarization. The dependence of these distributions on the ellipticity ξ of an electromagnetic wave is treated, as well as their evolution upon variation of the Keldysh parameter γ from the region of optical tunneling (γ?1) to the region of γ?1, in which the ionization is multiphoton. The quasiclassical approximation is used in the calculations, in particular, the imaginary-time method and the saddle-point method with expansion in the vicinityof the field ellipse.  相似文献
