For a large class of phenomenological potential models motivated by quantum chromodynamics, we have studied the behaviour of bound state masses as the constituent mass is increased and found that the mass of a quark-antiquark bound state increases when a constituent mass is increased. The mass spectra of both light and heavy mesons are studied in the Dirac equation with an equally mixed 4-vector and scalar power-law potential model. This potential provides an excellent fit not only to the mass spectra of, ϕ, Ψ and υ families but also to those ofD, F andB mesons. The light quark masses in and ϕ as well as in atom-like mesons are very close to the current quark masses.  相似文献

Based on the Dyson-Schwinger Equations (DSEs) of QCD in the “rainbow” approximation, the fully dressed quark propagator S f (p) is investigated, and then an algebraic parametrization form of the propagator is obtained as a solution of the equations. The dressed quark amplitudes A f and B f which built up the fully dressed quark propagator, and the dynamical running masses M f , which is defined by A f and B f for light quarks u, d and s, are calculated, respectively. Using the predicted current masses m f , quark local vacuum condensates, and our predicted value of pion decay constant, the masses of Goldstone bosons K, π and η and their in-medium values are also evaluated. Our predictions fit to data and to many other different calculations quite well. The numerical results show that the mass of quark is dependent of its momentum p 2. The fully dressed quark amplitudes A f and B f have correct behaviors and can be used for many purposes in our future researches on non-perturbative QCD.   相似文献

This is the second of a series of three papers treating light-baryon resonances up to 3 GeV within a relativistically covariant quark model based on the three-fermion Bethe-Salpeter equation with instantaneous two- and three-body forces. In this paper we apply the covariant Salpeter framework (which we developed in the first paper, U. L?ring, K. Kretzschmar, B.Ch. Metsch, H.R. Petry, Eur. Phys. J. A 10, 309 (2001)) to specific quark model calculations. Quark confinement is realized by a linearly rising three-body string potential with appropriate spinorial structures in Dirac space. To describe the hyperfine structure of the baryon spectrum we adopt 't Hooft's residual interaction based on QCD-instanton effects and demonstrate that the alternative one-gluon exchange is disfavored on phenomenological grounds. Our fully relativistic framework allows to investigate the effects of the full Dirac structures of residual and confinement forces on the structure of the mass spectrum. In the present paper we present a detailed analysis of the complete non-strange-baryon spectrum and show that several prominent features of the nucleon spectrum such as, e.g., the Roper resonance and approximate “parity doublets” can be uniformly explained due to a specific interplay of relativistic effects, the confinement potential and 't Hooft's force. We evaluate semileptonic and two-meson nonleptonic decays of the B c - meson in the framework of a nonrelativistic quark model. The former are done in spectator approximation using one-body current operators at the quark level. Our model reproduces the constraints of heavy-quark spin symmetry obtained in the limit of infinite heavy-quark mass. For the two-meson nonleptonic decays we work in factorization approximation. We compare our results to the ones obtained in different relativistic approaches.  相似文献

In the framework of quark models, hybrid mesons are either seen as two-body qˉ systems with an excited flux tube connecting the quark to the antiquark or as three-body qˉg systems including a constituent gluon. In this work we show that, starting from the three-body wave function of the qˉg hybrid meson in which the gluonic degrees of freedom are averaged, the excited flux tube picture emerges as an equivalent qˉ potential. This equivalence between the excited flux tube and the constituent-gluon approach is confirmed for heavy hybrid mesons but, for the first time, it is shown to hold in the light sector too, provided the contribution of the quark dynamics is correctly taken into account.  相似文献

We review the current status of the exotic pentaquark baryons. After a brief look at experiments of both positive and negative results, we discuss theoretical methods to study the structure and reactions for the pentaquarks. First we introduce the quark model and the chiral soliton model, where we discuss the relation of mass spectrum and parity with some emphasis on the role of chiral symmetry. It is always useful to picture the structure of the pentaquarks in terms of quarks. As for other methods, we discuss a model-independent method, and briefly mention the results from the lattice and QCD sum rule. Decay properties are then studied in some detail, which is one of the important properties of ⊝+. We investigate the relation between the decay width and the quark structure having certain spin-parity quantum numbers. Through these analyses, we consider as plausible quantum numbers of ⊝+,J P = 3/2. In the last part of this note, we discuss production reactions of ⊝+ which provide links between the theoretical models and experimental information. We discuss photoproductions and hadron-induced reactions which are useful to explore the nature of ⊝+  相似文献

A power law potential which is an equal admixture of scalar and vector parts with effective powerv ∞ 1/m q , is proposed as a quark confining potential in the Dirac equation. In the standard model effective field theory, operators involving the top quark are generally difficult to probe and can generate sizable loop contributions to electroweak precision observables measured by past and future lepton colliders. Could the high precision of electroweak measurements compensate for loop suppression and provide competitive reaches on these operators? Would the inclusion of these contributions introduce too many additional parameters for a meaningful global electroweak analysis to be performed? In this paper, we perform a detailed phenomenological study to address these two important questions. Focusing on eight dimension-6 operators that generate anomalous couplings between electroweak gauge bosons and third-generation quarks, we calculate their one loop contributions to \begin{document}$ e^+e^- \to f\bar{f} $\end{document} processes, both on and off the Z-pole, and the \begin{document}$ e^-e^+ \to WW $\end{document} process. A global analysis is performed with these eight operators and those that contribute to the above processes at tree level using measurements at the LEP, SLC, and several low energy experiments. We find that although current electroweak precision measurements are sensitive to the one-loop effects of top-quark operators, it is difficult to separate them from the operators that contribute at tree level, making a global analysis rather challenging. Under further assumptions (for instance, new physics contributes to only third generation quark operators and the S and T parameters), competitive reaches may be obtained in a global fit. Another important finding of our study is that the two operators that generate the dipole interactions of the bottom quark have a significant impact on the Z-pole measurements and should not be omitted. We also discuss the implications of the recently reported W-boson mass measurement at the CDF for our results. Finally, we estimate the reaches of future lepton colliders in probing top-quark operators with precision electroweak measurements.  相似文献

Constituent quark mass model is adopted as a tentative one to study the phase transition between two-flavour quark matter and more stable three-flavour quark matter in the core of supernovae. The result shows that the transition has a significant influence on the increasing of the core temperature, the neutrino abundance and the neutrino energies, which contributes to the enhancement of the successful probability of supernova explosion. However, the equilibrium values of these parameters (except the temperature) from the constituent quark mass model in this work are slightly bigger than those obtained from the other model. And we find that the constituent quark mass model is also applicable to describing the transition in the supernova core.  相似文献

用夸克势模型研究结构相同而自旋和轨道量子数不同的介子之间质量劈裂是检验势模型有效性的重要手段之一. 在以往的用各种夸克势模型计算质量劈裂工作中, 当轻介子和重介子一起计算时, π-ρ很容易劈裂, 而ηc-J/ψ等的劈裂都很 难达到实验值. 这里首先用正规化形状因子μ2/(q22), 对完整的动量空间中的Breit夸克势的第三项实施二次正规化, 除了第一项 库仑势和第七项常数项势, 对其余的项实施一次正规化, 然后用来计算 质量劈裂. 研究计算发现, 只有当屏蔽质量μ取为关于 折合质量μr=mr mj/(mr+mj) 的三阶多项式时, 轻介子π-ρ和重介子ηc-J/ψ, ηb-Υ(1s), 还有χc0c1c2 等的劈裂 精确达到实验值, 同时其他介子质量也都比以往得到较大的改善. 因此, 本文给出了一个有效的夸克势模型.  相似文献

The phase diagram of bulk quark matter in equilibrium with a finite hadronic gas is studied. Different from previous investigations, we treat the quark phase with the quark mass density-and-temperature-dependent model to take the strong quark interaction into account, while the hadron phase is treated by hard core repulsion factor. It is found that the phase diagram in this model is, in several aspects, different from those in the conventional MIT bag model, especially at high temperature. The new phase diagram also has strong effects on the mass-radius relation of compact hybrid stars.  相似文献

The spin crisis of the nucleon is that the quark spin contribution is only a small fraction of the nucleon spin. A relativistic Dirac equation approach is followed assuming three low mass current quarks in the nucleon described by a (1/2+)3 configuration. If the lower component contribution to the normalization of the quark wave function is about 0.18, then the axial charge of the nucleon can be reproduced. However including the same lower component to every quark wave function is not enough to resolve the spin crisis. The net u quark spin z component is predicted as 1.0 and the net d quark spin z component is predicted as –0.25, both in disagreement with experiment. These predictions can be brought into agreement with experiment if flavor independent but spin dependent forces are assumed between the quarks. The strength of the spin dependent force found by empirically fitting the nucleon spin data is shown to be comparable to the spin dependence that can explain the -nucleon mass difference. The spin content of the + is then predicted using the interactions that reproduce the spin content of the proton.  相似文献

We have studied some of the two body nonleptonic decays ofB meson in the context of heavy quark effective theory using factorization hypothesis. Treatinga 1 as a free parameter, we have obtained its value asa 1=0.822±0.045, by correlating the experimental and predicted branching ratio for process. With this value ofa 1 the branching ratios obtained for other decay channels are in good agreement with the experiment. The decay constant ofD meson is extracted to be 280.82 MeV. Heavy quark spin symmetry has also been tested.  相似文献

The J = (3/2) , J = 1/2 Nucleon mass difference shows the quark energies can be spin dependent. It is natural to expect that the quark wave functions also depend on spin. A spin-dependent quark force is fitted to the proton and neutron magnetic moments, axial charge, and spin content using a (1/2+)3 configuration for the quarks and assuming only zero mass u and d quarks are in the nucleon. In the octet, such spin-dependent forces lead to different wave functions for quarks with spin parallel or antiparallel to the nucleon spin. The eigen-energy of this potential is 0.15 GeV higher for quark spin parallel than for the quark spin antiparallel to the proton spin. This potential predicts a single quark energy of 0.37 GeV for mass-less quarks in the Delta. Assuming the quark forces are flavor independent, this potential predicts magnetic moments of a bound strange quark to be very close to those determined empirically from the octet magnetic moments.  相似文献

The matrix elements of the operators of strange quark fieldssГs where Г is 1 orγμγ 5 between a proton state is calculated. The sigma term is found to be ≈ 41 MeV and theSU(3) singlet axial matrix element is found to be ≈ 0.22, both in agreement with experiment. The sigma term is found using the trace anomaly, while the determination of the axial vector current matrix element is from QCD sum rules. These correspond to (ie.943-1)≈ 0.12 and for the axial current Δs −0.12, respectively. The role of the anomalies in maintaining flavor symmetry in the presence of substantial differences in quark masses is pointed out. This suggests that there is no need to invoke an intrinsic strange quark component in the proton wave function.  相似文献
