The violation of the Froissart bound resulting from repeated exchanges of pomerons in a multi-Regge model is avoided by assuming that some pomeron couplings vanish. The couplings can be chosen such that an input pomeron can produce an output pole coinciding with the input pomeron, and a two-pomeron cut. The main aim is to show that the structure of pomeron couplings can play an important role in calculations involving many pomerons  相似文献

Single and double inclusive cross-sections for gluon jet production from within the triple pomeron vertex are studied in the reggeized gluon technique in the QCD with Nc→∞. It is shown that to satisfy the AGK rules the vertex has to be fully symmetric in all four reggeized gluons which form the two final pomerons. The single inclusive cross-sections are found for different cuttings of the triple pomeron vertex. They sum to the expression obtained by Kovchegov and Tuchin in the color dipole picture. The found double inclusive cross-sections satisfy the AGK rules.  相似文献

The interaction of reggeized gluons is discussed in the high-colour limit. It is argued that the dominant contributions from the diagrams with a topology of a cylinder sum into a single BFKL pomeron. It is also shown that the BKP equation should be supplemented with terms which change the number of gluons, after which it can be solved in a trivial manner. In the high energy limit the theory reduces to that of noninteracting BFKL pomerons.  相似文献

In the context of the “1N Dual Unitarization” scheme, we present an explicit dynamical study of the triple bare pomeron mechanism which governs the interaction term in Gribov's lagrangian. Together with the previously established bare pomeron slope and intercept, controlling respectively, the kinetic and mass terms in Gribov's lagrangian, this work demonstrates the viability of the “1N Dual Unitarization” approach for a field theory of interaction bare pomerons.  相似文献

The local reggeon field theory is studied perturbatively taking advantage of the PT symmetry in the Hamiltonian formulation. In the lowest non-trivial order we show that the pomeron interactions renormalize the slope. In the same order we find a non-local pair potential acting between pomerons, which has a singular structure. However, the analysis of the scattering operator shows that at small coupling constant bound states do not appear so that the two-particle spectrum is not changed.  相似文献

Particle production at very high energies inhh, hA andAB collisions is studied in the framework of the pomeron model with a strong self-interaction proposed by Cardy. It is shown that the interaction between pomerons substancially damps the production rate one nuclei, the multiplicities forhA collisions becomingA-independent.  相似文献

The bootstrap condition is generalized ton reggeized gluons. As a result it is demonstrated that the intercept generated byn reggeized gluons cannot be lower than the one forn=2. Arguments are presented that in the limitN c???? the bootstrap condition reduces then gluon chain with interacting neighbours to a single BFKL pomeron. In this limit the contribution fromn gluons leading at high energies corresponds ton/2 non-interacting BFKL pomerons (then/2 pomeron cut). The sum overn leads to a unitary??*?? amplitude of the eikonal form.  相似文献

The screening correction to the high energy (plab > 10 GeV/c) elastic hadron-deuteron scattering amplitude is discussed. It is found that the correction cannot completely be calculated using as input only the data for cross sections of inclusive reactions on free nucleons. Nevertheless measurements of high energy screening corrections provide sensitive tests for models of inclusive processes. In particular elastic screening does not dominate over the inelastic screening if, as indicated by recent fits, the triple pomeron coupling does not vanish for three mass-zero pomerons. If this is the case, the theory of high energy elastic scattering on heavier nuclei would have to be reconsidered. The discussion is illustrated by a numerical calculation for elastic πd scattering in the 10GeV–2000 GeV energy range.  相似文献

Reggeon field theory with zero transverse dimensions is critically reanalyzed in the Hamiltonian formulation for both a sub- and a supercritical pomeron. Different mathematical aspects of the model, starting from the scalar products in the space of quantum states, are discussed. The probabilistic picture is addressed in the absence of pomeron merging. The issue of the large loop approximation is discussed in terms of the Hamiltonian evolution and its relation to the probabilistic picture recalled. A perturbative treatment, based on the PT symmetry of the model, is proposed that may be useful for more realistic models. Finally, we present numerical calculations for the various parameters of the models, α(0)-1=μ and the triple-pomeron coupling constant λ, which help one to understand some mathematical aspects and the different approximation regimes. They show that the triple-pomeron interaction always makes amplitudes fall with rapidity, irrespective of the value of the intercept. The smaller the values of the ratio λ/μ, the higher are the rapidities y at which this fall starts, so that at small values of λ it begins at asymptotically high rapidities (for λ/μ<1/4 the fall is noticeable only at μy>100). No visible singularity is seen for the critical pomeron.  相似文献

We study the double parton interaction process in collisions between highly virtual pairs in the BFKL regime. Explicit expressions for the double parton distributions are obtained both in the case of direct coupling of the BFKL pomerons to the pair and in the case of triple pomeron interaction. A reggeon field theory with two vacuum quantum numbers Regge poles, the pomeron and the f-reggeon is presented. In such a theory only one stable fixed point appears which is sensibly different from that governing a RFT with the pomeron alone. This fact is responsible for the modifications of the critical parameters of the pomeron. In particular, the intercept of the bare pomeron increases and approaches the phenomenological value.  相似文献

In the perturbative QCD approach single and double inclusive cross-sections for gluon production off the nucleus are studied by the relevant reggeized gluon diagrams. Various terms corresponding to emission of gluons from the triple pomeron vertex are found. Among them the term derived by Kovchegov and Tuchin emerges as a result of the transition from the diffractive to effective high-energy vertex. However it does not exhaust all the vertex contributions to the inclusive cross-section. In the double inclusive cross-section a contribution violating the naive AGK rules is found in which one gluon is emitted from the vertex and the other from one of the two pomerons below the vertex. But then this contribution is subdominant at high energies and taking it into account seems to be questionable.Received: 6 March 2005, Revised: 5 May 2005, Published online: 8 June 2005  相似文献

The reggeon field theory in zero transverse dimensions is investigated. Two versions of the theory are considered: one that allows for at most triple pomeron interactions and the other that embodies an additional 2→2 quartic reggeon coupling. The behavior of the scattering amplitude at asymptotic rapidities is obtained in both cases. In an s-channel picture of the high energy scattering both models can be viewed as reaction–diffusion processes. We derive known results in reggeon field theory rather easily using the reaction–diffusion formalism. We find that some results which are surprising from the reggeon field theory point of view turn out to have a simple interpretation from the reaction–diffusion point of view.  相似文献

The contribution of the simplest loops is studied in the local reggeon field theory with a supercritical pomeron in nuclear matter. It is shown that the latter transforms the supercritical pomeron into a subcritical one. Renormalization of the intercept and difficulties related to the fact that the renormalised intercept is complex are discussed. Numerical results with the conventional parameters are reported.  相似文献

The lowest order pomeron loop is calculated for the leading conformal weight with full dependence of the triple-pomeron vertex on intermediate conformal weights. The loop is found to be convergent. Its contribution to the pomeron Green function begins to dominate already at rapidities 10–15. The pomeron pole renormalization is found to be quite small due to a rapid fall of the triple-pomeron vertex with rising conformal weights.  相似文献

We demonstrate that in each ghost-free dual model with one minor restriction, there exists a critical dimensionality of space-time in which the pomeron singularity becomes a factorizable Regge pole. In each model when this dimensionality is chosen, the pomeron emerges with twice the intercept and half the slope of the leading secondary (f) trajectory. We explicitly construct the pomeron propagator and the operator coupling the pomeron to the reggeon sector for the general dual model, including the lower-lying negative-G-parity pomeron in the Neveu-Schwarz model. Gauge identities and physical states in the pomeron sector are also investigated. In all of the dual models the pomeron form factors exhibit a generalized f dominance and modified Wu-Yang behavior.  相似文献

We suggest that the pseudo-rapidity cut dependence of diffractive deep-inelastic scattering events at HERA may provide a sensitive test of models of diffraction. A comparison with the experimental cross section shows that the Donnachie-Landshoff model and a simple two-gluon exchange model of the pomeron model are disfavoured. However a model with a direct coupling of the pomeron to quarks is viable for a harder quark–pomeron form factor, as is a model based on the leading-twist operator contribution. We also consider a direct-coupling scalar pomeron model. We comment on the implications of these results for the determination of the partonic structure of the pomeron. The running coupling is introduced into the equation for propagation of the pomeron in the nucleus via the bootstrap relation. The resulting equation coincides with the one obtained in the color dipole formalism by summing contributions from quark–antiquark loops, with a general choice of the regularization scheme.  相似文献
